From the enticing aroma and taste of the pizza - the music - the friendly staff - atmosphere the total package.
1) I love the fact it don't look like any one of those cookie cutter bars or pizza joints it has it's own flavor, it is a place for mature people to have adult chats without children around to have topics beside the news, politics and weather also the popular culture and music scenes. There was no jazz club funk aka stale Mary Jane smell very refreshing and welcoming for a man of my condition as I'm a person with asthma.
2) Cheap beer enough said beer at great prices.
3) Close to a train station very useful it wasn't a hassle finding Hunter Street or even the place extremely convenient for me as I take public transport.
4) Very polite staff WOW!!! as there is not a word yet invented for how polite the staff are.
5) If there was a flaw in Frankie's is the it is not near to me in Liverpool, only down side.
Big thanks to Jordan, Sabrina and all the wonderful security and bar staff at Frankies for providing Music/Pizza/Booze lovers a place to enjoy truely great Rock n Roll. Really appreciate the effort to keep the crowd safe in a large and excitable crowd last night xx
Love the place but I am a real-deal rocker, not a pretentious poser like some that go there in suits after work. Awesome vibe and the best house band ever! Pizza rocks too, let's not forget that. A metal heads paradise.
Love this place. Just can't say enough about it. Great Music, good vibes, the staff are friendly and the pizza aint bad either.
Great casual easy entry joint. Great beers. Good pizza. Relaxed atmosphere. Great live music. Accepting bar staff and bouncers. Do the right thing. Visit and have fun.
Great place, the beer was cold, the pizza hot and the tunes heavy. Can't wait to bring my band there to play.
If you want a place that considers womens safety this is the place. When is comes to rewatching footage and finding lost items the manager is all over this!! Really happy time with my group of galz here #iloverockandroll
Frankie’s is awesome. First time I went there was like walking into a time warp...I swear those booths are from Springfield’s - haha
Good old fashioned rock venue like the old days and the pizza ain’t bad either
And Dave Eastgate is hysterical!
1 of the raddest places I’ve been to in Sydney!!
Beers, pizza were all top notch, best part is how cool the bartenders are really topped off a cracker night!
Can’t wait to get back there 🤘🏼
A great bar. Thought there were none of these places left in Sydney. Fresh pizza, live music, open late. Surely the best bar in the CBD.
Adelaide people - think of the Grace Emily, but underground, and in the middle of the financial district.
Great live music, sometimes it is happy hour for 3 dollar drinks and 3 dollar per piece of yummy pizza. Thanks Jordan ;)
Completely exceptional.
I've been to a few rock n roll bars in my time, but Tuesday at Frankie's was a slice above the rest!
Pizza was huge and piping, beer was chugged FAR too rapidly, bar service was swift, door staff were very friendly too!
The band were fantastic, my sides were aching from the banter in-between songs from the Master of Ceremonies, he was even gracious enough to give me a shirt.
A really sound environment, and a brilliant night out!
If I didn't live on another continent I'd make a sterling effort to be there every Tuesday!
Tops great beer, great staff, great music, great pizza 11/10
Love the vibes and interior of this place. Their cloudy Apple vodka is soooo good - a must have every visit. It can get really crowded though.

Best spot at CBD. Rock & roll music and tasty pizza. Great complement
It’s a very cool ambiance there. It’s a good place to hang out with your friends or acquaintances. I like the tap beer and pizza (perfect combo).
After seeing and hearing so many good things about Frankie’s, we decided to head there to start our Saturday night. Honestly couldn’t have been better! Super fast service from the bartenders and very nicely priced pizzas that tasted beyond expectations. The live music was also a great touch!
Pizza joint in the front room of a rock bar. The pizzas are actually amazing! Freshly made with simple ingredients and the dough is legit. You can eat in the front dining room or take your pizza and eat it in the bar. Grungy and crowded on a friday/Saturday but that is all part of the charm
Very strenuous process of making pizza where they keep slaves in the back room, and whoever makes the best pizza gets to escape from the peep hole located right near the pizza oven.
This has resulted in the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had; ranging anywhere from classic margherita to the infamous whole radicchio.
You’ll always get a good pizza if you see a person of color escaping from the small window above the garlic and chilly vines.
As the Spanish say: molto bene

Love the vibe of this place, great walk up pizza slices with a great selection of beers and coders to wash it all down. Music and service helps with the atmosphere
A very fun place in the CBD, always a good crowd and the beer and pizza is just a bonus. This place is always buzzing and perfect as it’s next door to my office. Can be a little loud for some patrons. But for me it’s awesome!

Best THIN PIZZAS in town 🍕❤️
They have “cute” tattoo whenever you enter in the bar!
Pizza Recommendation: Caprese & Godfather.
You can also order per slice.
Honestly pizza takes a while to be served, around 20 mins.
I love the place’s ambience and they make delicious pizzas. Last time I was lucky to be there during the happy hours and $3 big pizza slices were on offer. The drinks were also priced at $3 during the happy hours. Must visit place atleast once.
A great place for a late night snack/supper with beer! Pizzas are delicious and go down well after a night of drinks. It does get super busy, but that’s how you know it’s good!
One of the go to bars when everything is closed on a Sunday. Frankie’s have a unique vibe which is dimly lit. The pizza here is thin and crispy. A decent spot for by the slice pizza.
Great vibe at the bar. Plenty of alcohol options and variety of pizza. The crust was nice but you may not like if you hate chewy bite. The place was full pack but we managed to squeeze 3 of us at a little corner. The down side is our table can fit 1 pizza at a time so we had to order one by one. Pin ball arcade was also pleasantly enjoyable.
This place is a hidden gem. Pretty good Margherita aka The Godfather. Almost walked past the place and basically stumbled across it. The pizza and the beer to wash it down with is rated. 4 star rated
Really nice pizza, and cool retro-ish vibe. Gets very crowded, and not a good place to expect to have a conversation, as it gets very loud and crowded
I love this place.I've been back a couple nights in a row to swoosh up on specials. $3 drinks and pizza slices from 4-6pm is delightful to say the least. Decor is fun and the pizzas are Naples style so if you're into thin crispy style this ain't your place.

So many times I have walked past this place thinking why have people graffiti(ed) on the wall.... until yesterday when we went there for a work function and my colleagues opened the doors. I was surprised!!! you walk inside and you think you are in some underground (you are underground) best hang out place.
This place is un-describable, you just have to come here!!! It is great.
We were here for ALL YOU CAN EAT FRIDAYS, so you pay $15 and they give you a wrist band and the rest is history. It has delicious very delicious pizza's and alcohol which you have to pay for of course, there is all different types.
one quarter of the bar is if you want to sit with your partner in a more romantic zone but there is no bookings.
there is live band that plays for you to keep you entertained and honestly, everyone who was in the bar was absolutely nice. I can't see there being any trouble.
Yummy food, great ambiance and most definitely a hit among my friends and I last night. Would totally recommend you check this place out, you will not be disappointed!
Really chilled vibe good for grabbing casual post work drinks and a bite to eat. They sell pizza by the slice. Thin base and zuperrrr crunchy.
If you don't go to Frankie's, then we simply cannot be friends! My favourite pizza has to be the salami, onion and olive! A perfectly thin base just seals the deal for me! Down it with a beer or cider (there's plenty to choose from) but if that's not your style, there's wine, frozen margaritas and freshly squeezed juice with your poison of choice. So get out your ripped jeans and head on over, punks!
Very cool vibe in the pizzeria/ bar. Service was awesome. Went with around 15 people and they got us all our pizzas in a timely matter. Prices were fair for the amount of food you got. I spilt a margarita pie between two girls and it was more than enough. Very cool place even if it's just for a casual drink.
Top points for beer, ambience and street cred! This is the perfect place to escape from reality. Happy hour and pizza (tasty but not amazeballs) is the cherry on top 🍻🍻
Great place with a cool ambience. Pizza is delicious and is ready really quickly! Friendly service and overall great experience. Location is prime too.
Dark, dingy, iffy interior design but pizzas that make you want to dance. I like pairing my pizza with a beer or wine from their other connected bar which has an extensive list. Get in here, enjoy your drink, let your eyes adjust and savour thy pizza!
Packed to the rim on a Friday night, this place serves delicious servings of pizza. The varieties are a bit limited. But the pizza's are enough to satisfy anyone's hunger.
Frankie's has the perfect atmosphere for a night out with good friends. There's a secret bar which is tucked away from the craziness of the main area and serves as a cozy place to relax over a freshly squeezed apple whiskey and slice of Frankie's famous pizza.
Would have to rate this place as one of my favourite bars in the city!
It is located underground and it can get pretty dark. I have been here only for drinks before and I found that it has this strange smell. Although I have heard from many people that they have great Italian Pizzas so I finally got to try it. Yes everyone is right. This place has amazing pizzas and I also love their vodka with freshly squeezed apple juice. If you don't mind eating in the dark and want some great pizzas, this is the place to be.
Frankie's pizza is a cool little joint hidden away from the streets downstairs. It serves pizza and drinks. It's pizzas are of Italian style and lack meat if you're a meat eater. Overall a decent eatery
Do what they do well. It's good pizza, usually by the slice, in a basement bar atmosphere. Regular live music and always fairly crowded. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant.
Give it a crack with some friends if you don't mind music and crowds. Personally I like a quieter venue, but I can see this being absolutely dead on for a lot of people.
Went to Frankie's on a friday lunch time with a big group of friends (almost 20 people). As the place can get really packed, be sure to be there the moment it opens so you can get a good spot. Despite of getting packed, we didnt have to wait for a long time for our orders!
The pizzas are made and baked fresh with the finest toppings as well. We got the Wogball, Caprese and another one which I happen to forgot the name. Their apple vodka is also a must try!
My partner and I decided to try Frankie's one rainy evening after work and we were not disappointed. Love the retro/basement vibe. One of the best pizza spots in the city
The food was great but I'm not a big fan of the set up. It's very dimly lit and feels a little squishy. The music was loud and it was giving me a headache. It's just not my type of scene but I can see how some people would view this place as very hip. For me, I was just glad to get above ground again after my meal.
Super cool underground bar/pizza/club like venue. Walking through the crowd in almost pitch darkness don't be scared to encounter all types from punks to gene Simons painted faces. Drinks were good and pizza awesome.. three separate rooms to chose from and pin ball machines too
Most people come here after work for a few drinks, live music and awesome pizzas but I'm also a fan of the retro pinball machines inside! Great place for large groups.
What strange haven is this. Rock and roll, cold beer, pizza by the slice. Always a good vibe, sweet staff, the beers change every few days so there's always something new to try. You can see bands there for free. Good bands. Local bands. International bands. I saw guitar wolf there. It was excellent. I drank some beer and ate some pizza. It is the best place.
A surprising hive of activity on a late Monday night, the retro Frankie's will see you rubbing shoulders with a mix of Uni students, travellers and bearded blokes. Pizzas, cocktails and live music make for a great night all round but you're probably more likely to come here with company than for the dining experience?
Evocative late-late night basement pizza parlour with moody lighting, great music and a loud, buzzy clientele. Almost walked past it, as the front doors look like its boarded up. We ordered the capricciosa and salt bush garden pizzas - the first with a ketchup base the second with a cheesy bechamel sauce base. Both great, tasty pizzas. The salt bush garden with anchovies, supplemented with chilli flakes and chilli oil condiments, was a real winner. Washed it down with a decent bottle of Pinot noir ($59). Good service, music not too loud to inhibit conversation and a distinctly un-Sydney (more New York) atmosphere make this a dining must.
Hey. I'd heard about this place. It is crazy and funny to stumble into a basement in the middle of Sydney's CBD with the theme of an American pizza joint... albeit with Swedish beer (and Sydney beer and other beer). It was cool, funny and funky. We stayed only for one drink before needing to head off for dinner, but I was amused to try one of Sydney's hotspots. I wouldn't find it worth it if it was too busy, but as a place for a drink before dinner... and to see where the cool kids are hanging out: yes.
We came from Brisbane and were referred to this place and it's 100% worth it. It's actually a huge place with and awesome atmosphere. Quite dark with candle lit tables but the pizza there is awesome! Some of the best pizza crust and base I've ever had! Only downside was there was one girl serving the whole restaurant which is pretty packed on a weekday lunch (she was very lovely) but yeah we had to wait ages to just get some water. Otherwise the food was incredible anyway!
Attended Frankie's 4th of July pizza pie eating contest tonight. $20 buy in for as much pizza as you can eat in 5mins with $500 cash prize! Feel was bit of a crawl for my liking - pizza was pretty fkn good but! Would get takeaways for sure!
Always a great place to have pizza and drinks at a spot with great atmosphere. The pizza crust is thin and crusty. There are also pinball machines lined up along the walls for patrons to relive the old days. Great for after work drinks
Tuesday night after work dinner with husband - wasn't going to have an expensive dinner. We looked at the menu and most pizzas range between $18 and $23 and beer minimum $8 and not table service, must order at counter and when you are your number on the indicator board, you need to go and pick it up. Thought it was too expensive considering there's no table service. But when we got the food, the pizzas are HUGE. And DELICIOUS. Highly recommend the prawn pizza.
Great pizza, great venue. Ordered the zucchini flower pizza and the Margherita pizza. Both were delish - love the chewiness of the crust and the flavours were outstanding. They also do a great vodka & green apple juice!
We visited Frankie's for lunch and enjoyed 4 well made pizzas. The atmosphere is a stand out of the restaurant although sometimes it feels like it could be better ventilated. I'd happily go back.
Wicked underground pizza in this hospo hot spot service pizza by the slice with a great range of craft beers whilst you listen to rock and roll and place pinball
LOVE LOVE LOVE Frankies. I came here on a Sunday night and it was still pumping! Great casual vibe and the pizza is what pizza should be. SIMPLE. So tasty and not trying to be anything else. The girl behind the bar was so friendly as well.
Awesome place serving up drinks in plastic cups, pizzas flying around, and a crazy dance floor blasting rock music. Also, it's got about 8 pinball machines which are absolutely awesome when you're drunk. I think our group probably pumped more money into those things than we did into beer, which was definitely a feat.
Killer concept, popular and FUN. Pizza shop is the bars mask. You walk through a pizza shop to enter the bar. This is about having a really fun time. It is popular.
Came here on Sunday night. I love ambience here so much. Joyful and staff are smiling, welcome us! It's quiet in Wynyard area on Sun but Frankie's Pizza is one of the good Pizza Restaurant opens at Weekend. Pizza was delicious, not salty, too oily and really huge!! Wanna try all of the taste.
You can't fault Frankie's as a great bar and live music venue. Atmosphere is great, beer selection is craft focused and constantly being refreshed and the spirit selection is broad. This is not the bar for a quiet drink as it gets loud, raucous and very rock 'n' roll. Make sure to find the Fun Room for some staight spirit action. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Grab a pizza to finish the night after you have had your fill of beer, bourbon and bands.

Have been more than the fingers on one hand and its always been a hoot!
Pizza's are good! Get Vodka's or Rum's matched with fresh apple juice are pretty tasty.
Can get busy and crowded so get in early to snag a booth.
If you get bored of the company you're with you can go play the pin ball machines.
Bands play on a Monday night and it gets pretty loud but hey its a dive bar, if you don't like it you can just leave.
Open till late which is great for the hospo's or if you feel like continuing your partay!
Loud. Raucous. Fun. Frankie's Pizza is an underground bar off Hunter St. There is a small maze of rooms, pinball machines and a good selection of beers on tap. A lively after work hangout.
Excellent dive bar, with pinball machines, rock n roll from the 70s & 80s, and fabulous pizzas by the slice. My only regret is that I left sober
Open late - you will likely run into 100 of your closest friends here late on a Friday night. Good pizza - but thats not the reason you come here, its all about the drinks. Live music is a nice touch. Loud and fun dive bar located in the heart of the city.
Frankies have the best Margarita pizza in Sydney. There! I said it! Hands down.
Awesome vibe, one second you are in a trattoria in Italy next minute a Rock bar with pinball machines. Sailor Jerry's and fresh apple is the bomb. A definite Sydney icon.
There are lot of pizza places in Sydney, but this one has the best pizzas. The ambiance is dark but cozy, best to chill out with friends for a drink and pizza.
Frankie's pizza is the place to go if you want yummy pizza in a casual setting, think plastic red and white tablecloths.
Every time I’m in Sydney I end up finding myself at Frankie’s at some stage. The fact that it’s open until 3am every day of the week and is located smack bang in the middle of the CBD explains a lot – it quite simply becomes an easy default option.
Despite its heritage as a white collar booze basement, plus the strong beer and pizza themes, the crowd at Frankie’s is a little cooler than the city suits you would have expected to find here.

HAPPY DAYS: the switch on the neon has been flicked. Enter: red and white checked table cloths, clear plastic table covers, framed old photos lining the walls, trailing plastic ivy. The brand new basement bar is a retro world of old Sydney Italian. Pizza by the slice is five bucks, but this spot is so much more than the pizza implied by its name. Beer Monster Jordan Macdonald wants to keep things interesting so the international craft selection of nine tap and fifty bottled beers will keep moving. Sit in the brightly lit front bar or push the swing doors to the cavern behind for booths, pinball machines and live music. This is the third venue for the boys – Anton Forte and Jason Scott - from Shady Pines and Baxter Inn. It’s their biggest, and early signs indicate: their best yet…
The vibe is really cool at frankies, it's a small den down stairs that is best know for its live music. The pizza itself is ok, crust was amazing yet the topping was pretty thin for a $21 pizza. Tasty and delicious but can imagine one of these going down a treat while ur having a few beers and listening to some live tunes...worth checking yourself if a rocker who like long hair, music, pizza and beer...
Dark and grungy. I love this place! Hard to get a seat especially when you order food, but you somehow manage. At desperate times, we have eaten pizza at the bar (and inhaled it!)
I love the music, the vibe - there aren't too many bars with the space to really spread out and find your favourite darkened corner.
Frankie'ssss!!!. The staff are super friendly! The beer is great, the pizza delicious. Pin ball excellent. Music a little loud. Love it. Escape the city. Go here.
I've read the reviews about service and feel my experience was totally the opposite. The colorful young lady that served us at the bar was attentive +
Crunchy tasty pizza
Great liquid offerings & a feeling of NYC in my home town.
9.5/10
Wish I could have stayed longer
Great pizza (10 out of 10) but extremely rude and unfriendly bar staff and waitresses (1 out of 10). One waitress actually told me to "buzz off"
Awesome place to go for Pizza and Beer. Have been back a couple of times. Amazing music, cool Whisky room and the only bugbear I have was one of the girls behind the bar with way too much attitude...
Delicious pizzas, especially the salami! Great ambience and decor! Little bit too dark, great 'fun room'/bar below which not many people knew about! And all juices are freshly squeezed! Highly recommend for a good night out!
Like walking down the stairs into a NY pizza bar.... Loved this place! What a great find, hidden away downstairs right there in the middle of Sydney CBD - who would have known this gem was there!?!
We dined on the Margherita pizza, fresh out of the oven and served on paper plates (somehow this added to the awesomeness of the dining experience) and accompanied by bourbon out of plastic cups. Very cool.
The pizza comes on a thin, crusty base (the way pizza should be), and is not overwhelmed with superfluous ingredients - just good, honest, simple toppings packed with great flavour.
Great atmosphere, cool laid-back vibe, and superb customer-service. Thanks guys!
Went for happy hour which had a happy hour crowd... Worth every penny... Awesome drinks with fresh squeezed juice and amazing $1 pizza slices... Very nice ambience
Love this place and everything it stands for. Great drinks, cheap feeds and fun times. Will be a shame when it is gone, so best to enjoy it while it is still here! Definitely a Sydney staple and a right of passage to go here and have an awesome night until all hours!
Great environment and great music. Tasty pizza if you keep your expectations reasonable (not a fine dining place!). Strongly reccomend
5/5 Hands down amazing venue! The place to be. Top live tunes, great food and I love the vibes all the team working there put out! Highly recommend
Very cool place, with such a nice vibe, starting from the security guard at the door.
I enjoyed hanging around yesterday, sipping a drink and discovering this unique place in the center of the city.
Great pizza. Great music. There’s a secret bar located on property. If you’re able to catch a live band, be sure to stick around to rock out. This place has a great staff, too.
The music is a bit loud. The decor is funky. The pizza is nice. We had Margarita and BBQ. I like the BBQ more, lots of meat.
Cool bar, exceptional pizza, open late! Hard rock vibe but still a great place to hang and have a conversation with friends.
They're open late and play great music. Every single staff I met was incredible. Chris and Cody stood out, but honestly it's just by a bit because all the staff were so cool and friendly.
Best bar I've been to in years!
