We found this hidden charm as we were staying in the Park Royal, Darling Harbour. Slightly off the beaten track bit definitely worth a visit. The food is absolutely fantastic, very flavoursome and filling. The staff are extremely tentative and price is reasonable given the location
Mains Steak Frite perfectly mid rare and melt in the mouth, followed by trio of sorbet which was a perfect way to end the meal. Attentive staff, courses came quickly, which was appreciated after a 4am start to catch a plane. Dined as a single female - very comfortable location. Well done!
Took my mum for pre mothers day hightea. I could not recomend this place any higher. Ther service was so professional and prompt. Met all my expectations. If your looking for a place were its elegant dining and exceptional quality hightea, than Abode is place you ought to be.
The food was great, wine was great, service was great, decor and ambience was great! One of the best lamb dishes I have ever had... Definitely recommended!
Best high tea ever!!!! Impeccable service and beautiful decor. Love this place.
Took our daughter their after her Graduation at Town Hall and the food was fabulous. Nice and quiet and would highly recommend!
Great food and terrific service. Cocktail happy hour too! I eat here often when I stay in Sydney.
Excellent food and service. Menu changes every season which is a great excuse to go back!
Solo dining was not a problem and the staff were lovely. They suggested food which was excellent. Loved the oysters.
Amazing food and great service will definitely be back when in Sydney again!
Absolutely Superb! The food is fantastic, service brilliant and great atmosphere. Will definitely return - highly recommend this place without any reservation.

Tonight my husband and I had dinner at Abode.
The food was amazing! It was the best Salmon I have ever had. We were even more impressed by the service Christopher gave us. He is truly an asset to this restaurant. We stay at the Park Royal in Darling Harbour regularly and we will be back.
Thank you for making our night so enjoyable.
Staff are awesome. Love the choices they have of cocktails they have during happy hour. Food was pretty good and hot
Great food fantastic service with staff going above our expectations all at a reasonable price and excellent location
The food was superb. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, smiling staff.
This place is a little gem hidden in the in skirts of Darling Harbour. The food was divine and divinely plated. Never seen a restaurant put attention to the very detail of the food. Hats off to the whole crew. The service was fantastic! Our server was the most enthusiastic server we’ve ever had. Thanks Klein for making our night! I strongly recommend this place.
Visited this bistro bar at lunch time and was taken away by the beautiful interior. In terms of the menu, it is simple and not super expansive.
The entrees we ordered were tasty without doubt, but extremely small portion sizes for the price.
The mains were fairly tasty too, and the steak was tender, flavourful and had a good char. Unfortunately, the confit duck was a let down. The chicken was average.
A good place to visit if you want some decent food and a nice environment to sit in.
Came here with a few girlfriends for the Chocolate High Tea and loved the tea and scones but the chocolate was just a little much even though it was a chocolate high tea. The interior is gorgeous and would definitely come here again anyways! 👍🏻
From outside abode doesn't look all that great, but once you step inside you see how beautiful this place is. I absolutely love the white and lace motifs throughout the restaurant paired with huge cream comfortable chairs. We had come in for a big team lunch, and it was lovely to see such a nice set up. The lunch special was $19.50 which included a house wine, beer or a soft drink which was great. I ordered the day special - ocean trout. Now it was delicious, and well seasoned, though it didnt come with much pasta. For a meal more worth the money grab the fish and chips or the burger, because not only do both come with chips... they both look so substantial! Service was average. I thought the waitress spoke way too fast and was very unclear also. We had to ask her to repeat herself. Also the waiters tended to talk toward their notepad or the plate they held rather than look up and smile. It bugged me a lot. The menu has a lot of salads, some gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options which is fantastic. I would recommend Abode for lunch, surely for the food, but I don't think it's ideal when the experience with the people working there was so negative.
The chicken liver pate was really impressive. They do a great steak here as well. However the service really lets it down, it was not poor but just very amateurish. Being a hotel bar/restaurant you really expect more.
Great spot for after work drinks and they have $10 cocktails during happy hour! I did wait quite a while for my cocktail to be made, but it was worth it.
I was invited to the try the tasting menu of Abode Bistro and Bar at the Park Royal Darling Harbour which I was only too happy to go as I’m always on a look out for a list of venues I can roll off my tongue to recommend to my colleagues for business dining during the work week. The criteria is that it needs to be in the Sydney CBD, elegant, refined but not too refined, not too noisy so you can hear the other person speak with ease, a good menu, good wines, great coffee, exceptional service and consistency because you really only have that small lunch slot during your work day so efficiency is important.
We ordered six course degustation menu and we love every single dish. Their service is also great, Hailey the waiter look after us. Tonight their service was a bit slow so they gave us complimentary drink. We started with soup, scallop, salad, duck breast, beef tenderloin and dessert. We will definitely will come back again.
Being in Sydney I wanted to venture out to a nice restaurant. However being there for work took a toll on my energy levels and I wanted something closer to my hotel but still good in quality. Abode Bistro was next to ParkRoyal where I was staying. I decided to gamble and went in. Right from the start I was impressed. The service was excellent and the ambience was not too bright which was soothing to the senses.
The chicken liver was exquisite as you can see in the photo. The duck main course couldn't have been cooked more perfectly! The portion sizes were reasonable although the cost could be slightly more affordable.
Overall a great culinary experience and one I would highly recommend for anyone visiting or living in Sydney.
I love a good fine-dining brunch with an affordable cafe price tag, so I am always on the lookout for Sydney´s best-value gourmet brunch spots, and after many trials and errors, I think this is a pretty special place to visit.
Abode is an upscale elegant dining sanctuary with welcoming designer light-filled interiors. It offers a distinctive gourmet menu with an innovative twist.
As the menu consisted of superb quality with very distinctive descriptions, we were spoiled with choices. I noticed there was an extensive gluten-free, as well as many vegetarian options. Our initial intention was to have a 'light lunch', but we ended up ordering 5 exceptionally delicious entrees to share.
All dishes we ordered were flavour-driven and the plating presentations were artistic, modern and interesting. We were visually enticed with all dishes.
The restaurant is beautifully set-up, and it does not feel crowded or too noisy. This is a perfect catch up venue with your girlfriends and have artful light meals or decant high tea at the same time.
Abode Bistro & Bar also offers a Six Course Tasting Menu for only $65. That has got to be the most economical tasting menu in Sydney!
These guys have recently had award winning chef, Anthony Naylor, come on board and in three short weeks he has completely overhauled the menu to create a great offering in the CBD. The menu is made up of fresh, seasonal ingredients and each dish is sophisticated while bursting with flavour. Take for example the Barramundi, served with a saffron vegetable broth and dill Creme fraiche.
The barramundi was perfectly cooked, the broth had the perfect amount of salt (thank goodness!) and that Creme fraiche married all the elements together perfectly.
There's also a great selection of desserts and starters available that change depending on the best produce of the day. We'd recommend the 3 Course Set Menu for the bigger eaters and for $65 a head, you can't go wrong! For those who like to try a bit of everything, the Six Course Tasting Menu for only $65 has to be one of the cheapest going in Sydney and is definitely worth your time (defs add wine for $35 a head). You know you wanna.
I keep coming back and back to this place. It's something to do with the amazing yet informative staff, the ambience of the place and of course the carefully prepared dishes. The interior is by far, the most extravagant I have seen. Oozes luxury and the food speaks for itself.
Impeccable service and excellent top notch modern Australian cuisine at Harbour town... The grilled pork w scallop and chicken wings are worth trying! Portion was generous, thoroughly enjoyed tonight's dinner! Thumbs up!
Good Food Month is always my FAVOURITE month of the year. I'm sure it's obvious why. Fantastic markets, opulent events and delicious new menus all to celebrate that thing that makes everything worthwhile: FOOD. Of all the foods in the world, my absolute favourite would have to be cheese. Encompassing this, and in the spirit of Good Food, the gorgeous Abode Restaurant is running "Fromage to you", a delectable four course wine matched degustation to celebrate their love for cheese. Being an absolute devotee to cheese I immediately made a reservation.
Not many places that offer high tea would go to the efforts of changing their menu depending on the season and availability of seasonal fresh produce, this is where the Abode High Tea at the Park Royal Darling Harbour is a game changer. Sampling Abode’s new high tea spring menu was an absolute treat and feast of an afternoon.

Hotel restaurants are curious beasts; and while Abode has been cleverly located as a stylish, stand-alone restaurant, it is still very much part of the Parkroyal Darling Harbour. As you’d expect, the restaurant fulfils a role in providing accessible, comforting and familiar food to overnight stayers. What you might not expect however, are enough seasonal, well-handled proteins - including moist, crisp-skinned Cone Bay Barramundi ($32) on a heaving plate of crabmeat risotto – to make it attractive to locals
Abode Bistro at the PARKROYAL Darling Harbour in Sydney is a fancy little restaurant which recently underwent a refurbishment, the interiors are beautiful and the food can be described as Modern Australian. I had the pleasure of visiting to check out the a la carte menu for dinner on a recent Thursday night.
I've been searching for the perfect high tea since Windsor's Le Shell's and I finally found it!
Usually something goes horribly wrong in a high tea weather the sweet range taste like cheap frozen crap and the pink dessert thing is soggy and the rest of the crap is flavourless. Or the sandwiches have weird combinations or are just average. Or not getting your money's worth by paying $30725 each and just getting average food so then are left homeless and disappointed.
This place did everything right! My friend who is slightly fussy and doesn't like things out of the ordinary also loved everything.
The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere was nice and peaceful (mostly. I didn't particularly like the music and that it was slightly too loud for a peaceful high tea) and service was great! The staff were friendly and helpful. Cannot fault this place or my experience here!

Hi friends and readers, apologies for the lack of posts. C and I have been very busy working, eating and traveling but we hope to start posting more frequently again! Here is a post on the high tea experience we had at ABODE Bistro earlier this year. Hope everyone is well! Love, K. As a big lover of high tea, I jumped with excitement at the invitation for C and I to be one of the first people to taste the high tea menu at ABODE bistro. Having had an enjoyable and satisfied meal the last time C and I dined here for dinner, we could not wait to experience the innovative menu ABODE will bring about this time.
Abode Bistro has a 1920s ‘Gatsby’ feel to it. Comfortable white chairs and bench seating along the louver windows. There are black feature walls with gold accents and comfortable black leather lounges. Light fixtures again have that touch of gold feel, which are an interesting combo alongside the white fringes falling from the sealing. The fringes remind me of flapper dress hems.
The high tea menu at Abode Bistro is designed by Peter Kuruvita and Ryan Hong and they have given traditional high tea offerings a little twist. You have a couple of high tea options to choose from. Standard high tea with your choice of Dilmah loose leaf tea will set you back $45/person. If you would like to add a tea cocktail $50/person and a glass of French Champagne added is $60/person.
The cleanly schmick looking Abode Bistro is tucked away on the west end of Day Street and is the main restaurant/kitchen for the Parkroyal Darling Harbour. We’ve previously visted for dinner and had a enjoyable meal here. They’re introducing high tea and we’ve been invited to try their menu.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
+4.5
Mlady had the split prawns. they were served with carotene butter, charred corn and a very tasty green chilli salsa. This dish certainly had an interesting presentation - the colours of the prawns offset so nicely with the corn spread out on top. This was again another simple but unique and tasty dish.
Excellent. We had an excellent dinner at Abode. We were greeted warmly and service was friendly throughout the night. More importantly, the food was beautiful. We started with the pork belly with seared scallops and the steak tartare with kewpie mayonnaise, which sounds strange but worked well. This was followed by a moist pork rack covered in a well-seasoned parmesan crust. The star of the meal however was the black cod with wild mushrooms, pancetta and potatoes. The pancetta gave the teriyaki glaze a smoky undertone which complemented the cod, which was perfectly cooked with a buttery, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Desserts were poached pear with chocolate mousse and an opera cake. Both were a fitting end to a fabulous meal - sweet but not overly so.
The night was largely faultless though we did wait quite long for our mains. However, we didn't mind as the ambiance was ideal for conversation. Loved Abode and would not hesitate to recommend this place over some of the Darling Harbour tourist traps.
Excellent food, excellent service and nice ambiance.
Was there on a two course deal and it was stunning. Partner had a smoked eel, salmon, dill entree he proclaimed excellent. We had rack of lamb and rack of pork for mains and really delicious. Shared an opera cake with sorbet and just perfect.
Noticed they had a one course deal there which also looked good. Well done
Excellent food and venue. Beautiful decor, friendly service and great food. Loved the Cape Grim beef fillet!
The only downside was we were told the wagyu flank was not available as part of the Groupon deal. This was not specified anywhere on our voucher or when we we bought the deal - the conditions just said menu subject to change. Otherwise, it was a lovely date night and we look forward to returning!
Great restaurant and bar that just happens to be within a hotel???. Great place to unwind and enjoy dinner and a drink.
They run happy hour every day from 5pm to 7pm with drinks at $5 and they have a large selection to choose from. great menu that has a western and Asian flare to it. loved the 9+ wagyu Flank, hand cut triple cooked fries and the panko crumbed lamb shoulder.
Their wine list is also impressive with a big selection of wines from Europe, Australia, NZ, Napa Valley and Argentina. Amazing cocktails, especially loved the Day street Boulevard a nice twist on a classic Negroni and white chocolate espresso martini.
This place is a definite must if you like good food, a large selection of wines and amazing cocktails.
If you're looking for a casual yet elegant dining experience, this place is for you. The moment you step in, you'll be captivated by the white accent theme and subtle lighting that creates a stylish ambiance. Nicely laid out tables and chairs along with some intimate lounge areas and an open bar. It's a warm and welcoming space to relax and spend the evening in.
Awarded an AGFG Chef Hat for 2022, it offers fresh, seasonal and inventive dishes. I highly recommend their 5 course Tasting Menu. Every dish that we had was spot on - clean plates all round. Service is impeccable.
Awesome experience. We were downtown due to a conference and I had a 3 course menu by myself. There are many selections for each course and also sides. The bread and butter as complemantary appetizer was so warm and tasty. I loved the chocolate souffle and would prefer it with a bit more ice cream. The room and the decorations were very modern and tasty also.
The service was exeptional. I strongly recommend ABODE and will certainly visit again.
Came here for a complimentary dinner after a booking incident. We were very well looked after and thankful for the customer service experience we received. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was really quite good!
We recommend diners come here and give it a shot.
My husband and I came here by chance two months ago and had a fantastic time. We decided to come back for a dinner during the Vivid festival.
I am really glad we did, they have changed the tasting menu, had the same excellent service and the atmosphere in the place is perfect for a romantic dinner.
There will be a change in menu again shortly to a winter tasting menu and we will be back again.
Whilst searching for a fine dining experience near me. I found Abode bistro. I was pleased to see they had a five course dining experience with matching wines.
My wife and I went before a show at the state theatre, we were treated to an amazing meal, matched perfectly with the wine. The waitresses knew the food and the wine, were attentive and asked for feedback.
I will be going back and can recommend to anyone for a great dining experience.
Absolutely delicious, 10/10 for sure. The food was cooked perfectly and came out well presented and in a timely matter. Staff were amazing, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Would highly recommend.
Oh my goodness. Absolutely loved this place. We chose to do the chef's degustation for $95pp and it's so worth it. Each dish is made to perfection and the flavours blend together so perfectly. The staff are warm and welcoming and service is absolutely lovely. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone who doesn't want to wait long for delicious servings of food that leave you utterly satisfied. Such a warm ambience as well! Food attached in photos along with their new menu.
We celebrated our Anniversary at this beautiful restaurant with the tasting menu and was really impressed. Every dish was fantastic. The staff were really nice and service was on point. We truly recommend dining here it won’t disappoint. Looking forward to returning.
