OMG this restaurant has blown me away! Easily meeting the quality standards of an one hatted restaurant but without its price tag. Risotto... grass-fed steak... sword fish; all done to perfection. Desserts - oh I am in heaven. The creme caramel was sooo damn excellent. The profiteroles were so good... Do not forget about the cheese plate... which gave me a very pleasant surprise! Lastly service! Service was pretty much the best I have had for years... thank you guys so much for giving us such an enjoyable night.

A belated thank you to Rodney, Mel and the whole team at Song Kitchen for hosting my hens night in August. My guests and I had the best time and both Rodney and Mel totally accommodated all of my requests. Mel was an absolute joy to be around on the night and made sure everyone was well fed and well watered. I have had nothing but positive feedback about the night and everyone loved the cocktail special! I highly recommend this restaurant for any event - breakfast, dinner or lunch!

After sampling the amazing food at the Song Kitchen launch event I was very much looking forward to returning for a full meal, especially given the proceeds go to such a good cause. I was not disappointed. I had the pan fried barramundi beetroot vinaigrette and it was absolutely divine. All of the food I've tried has been fantastic, right down to the chef's own homemade butter. Everything from the decor to the service is top of the line. I already look forward to returning with friends to try other items on the menu or just to have a drink in the bar. I love that profits go to domestic violence causes, I feel as though I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

We had a great dinner experience here. The service is excellent, from being greeted immediately, as soon as we walked in the door, to perfect attentive service throughout our dinner. We were asked if everything was fine during each coarse, drinks were always topped up, we basically didn't have to wait or ask for anything. The food is not cheap, but well worth it. The steak and the duck breast were tender and cooked perfectly! Will definitely be back. It was such a pleasant surprise! Thank you 😊

Wow is all I can say. The food is top quality as is the service provided. I would highly recommend anyone in Sydney to have dinner there. Also proceeds are given back to the YWCA.

Song Kitchen is at it again. They have a great new menu and we revisited to try their new culinary delights. Easy to access, right in the city at the Surry Hills end and at the lobby of a hotel. The street frontage is a bar and head downstairs for the dining area. The staff are superb! In fact, the male waiter even remembered what we ordered last time. That’s incredible, seeing as though we visited 6 months ago. One of my favourite things about this place is that 100% of profits support the YWCA NSW – an organisation that helps women experiencing domestic violence. Eating with a conscience. Headed by chef Charlotte Gonzales (ex Merivale), she is innovative, having designed an extensive menu, with French influence. It is clean and stylish food and packed with flavour. We began with the promotion which is on for Vivid - a bottle of Mumm champagne and 6 oysters. The oysters were silky and served with a side of vinaigrette and such a lovely entree to have with our champers. Don’t fret, they have plenty of drinks We had grilled king prawns, perfectly cooked and plenty of flavour provided by long red chilli, garlic, coriander, lime & romesco salsa. For the entree we also had a lovely winter vegetables with pumpkin, onion, sweet potato, beetroot and broccoli. Perfect for the season. We’d been craving the pasta, so decided on the Pince all’ amatriciana – guancial, tomatoes, basil & Percorino Romano. An interesting thick pasta, packed with flavour. It was an extremely generous serve. We also sampled the amazing rabbit gnocchi. After this we were so full that we couldn’t touch dessert, although Creme Caramel is always a crowd pleaser. Visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. The food is outstanding, and restaurant ambience is also comforting, sophisticated, yet relaxed.

One of my favourite places in Sydney- great food, brilliant coffee, good wine, and a good mission underpinning everything. It's become a regular spot for good reason.

Food and service was fantastic. Unfortunately, no hash browns left, but on the upside, that gives us an excuse to come back

Best articulation of social enterprise I know. Add spot-on, smack-in-the-centre-of-Sydney location and food made with love, and you have a winner. Go Song!

New to sydney so been trying out different restaurants and this place did not disappoint! Menu on Google however needs to be updated.. the restaurant was very clean and service was highly attentive and top notch. Angel hair crab pasta was cooked al dente with a light touch of olive oil. Aracini was amazing. The squid however was just around average nothing bad but not amazing either. Their Tunisia chicken skewers was something different, very tasty and quite well put together with the cous cous and sour cream although if cooked over charcoal would have added more smokey flavour. First time trying Iranian ice cream and simply amazing and unique well done. Blue eyed cod was average.

We had a truly amazing dining experience at Song Kitchen last weekend! From the starters to the dessert and the drinks, everything was top notch 😋, loved the music, the friendly customer service and the fact that their profits help a good cause! Do yourself a favor and order the amazing eggplant manti dumplings and scrumptious rosewater meringue and pistachio ice cream dessert!

Selection of meals were interesting and well thought out. The two we had were tasty but not spectacular. Definitely worth visiting for the price.

We love our food and when we hear anything is supporting a good cause in any way, we are interested. Raising money, providing resources for the needy or donating profits, we consider all of this amazing! So when we heard that SONG KITCHEN has a social conscience, offering 100% of their profits to support the YWCA NSW – an organisation that helps women experiencing domestic violence, we were there in a heartbeat. Located on Elizabeth street, Sydney, it is a hotel restaurant in the city end of Surry Hills. Song Kitchen is somewhere city goers may walk past everyday. Don’t just walk past, head on in. Open for less than a year, Song Kitchen is run head chef, Charlotte Gonzales. She comes with a wealth of experience, having been a chef since the age of 18 having worked in a number of well known restaurants, including a number of Merivale venues. The menu at Song Kitchen offers fine dining quality at a reasonable price, showcasing fresh food that is European Bistro inspired. There is also an extensive wine and cocktail list. Song Kitchen is also giving back to diners, offering a free wine with dinner as a promotion. We were in a group and were fortunate enough to sample much of the menu. This included the Rabbit terrine with apricot, pistachio and chargrilled bread as well as the Kingfish ceviche. The charcuterie board, which is always a great share option for a group and had a quality selection of cured meats, house pickles, and chargrilled bread and very enjoyable with a glass of wine. A fresh light option was the tomato and melon salad with prosciutto. Our favourite was the grilled king prawns, perfectly cooked and plenty of flavour provided by long red chilli, garlic, coriander, lime & romesco salsa. The corn fed chicken breast, super tender, served with potato mash, broccoli and a lemon salsa. A number of our group went for the beautifully cooked grain fed scotch filler (250g), served with a generous amount of nicely seasoned shoestring fries, red wine jus and a side of Bearnaise. If you are in the mood for pasta the waiter recommended the Pince all’Amatriciana tomato sauce. Despite the fact we were extremely full, a few of us wanted dessert too and shared some classic including; Crepes Suzette, Creme Caramel and profiteroles. A beautiful menu with so many awesome options! Make a booking, dine with your friends and know you’re helping a good cause!

Great modern food. House made pastas, quality seasonal ingredients cooked immaculately, a modern stylish room in a not for profit organisation make this spot a place to visit. We will return for another great meal
