I have been so many times in this place,I really have lots of favourite dishes!!Must visit

We do love Italian food. Really love it. We spend a lot of time in the city too so we’re always looking out for a new eatery or an old one we just haven’t visited. Macchiato is in a prime position on the corner of Liverpool and Pitt Streets. In an area of Thai and Korean food it’s still there and going strong after many years.
ordered boscaiola pizza and caesar salad with chicken, both dishes were really good. I have to also commend on the exceptional service from the staff, will definitely come back again
Wonderful place to have Italian food, the staff are nice and service is great: it’s really packed during the night but the service is fast and efficient where their dishes are great and filled with love. However during the night it’s a bit dark, but I guess its how they set it. Overall the place is amazing for a dinner date or night out with friends
Common man this was tooo goood 80$ u can get meal for 2 people ... This was fantastic and IAM so Impreased by the way they treat their customers like family !!!!!!
Myself and 3 friends went here on a Saturday night and they were fairly busy- most of the tables were full. Fortunately there was a table for 4 available so we were seated within a few seconds of entry. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks arrived pretty quickly. We ordered pizzas and we all enjoyed them. I particularly enjoyed the tomato sauce base, which was probably the best sauce I've ever had on a pizza. Not only was the meal delicious but it was satiating. There's nothing worse than finishing a meal still feeling hungry- a problem not encountered here. The pizza was also one of the least greasy in recent memory. The only complaint is that the base was quite thin so you had to hold the slices with two hands to prevent it from folding in half and dripping half the toppings off the end.
I've read some pretty substandard reviews here, and i must admit my experience is somewhat different to others.
We ate here on a busy Friday night, and the quality of food and service was phenomenal.
Their pizza (although elongated) taste amazing, not really a fan of their chicken wings tho- it tasted like it was thawed and not marinated for long enough.
Service was attentive and although they were busy.
Definitely worth going back to.
Dropped in for a quick lunch and apart from a short wait to get seated the service was very friendly and the food okay and the coffee very good
We came to Macchiato for a midweek dinner, and we were extremely keen for some wood fired pizza.
Service: 6.5/10
Walking in we adhered to the sign to wait to be seated, but it did take the wait-staff over 5 minutes to realise we were waiting which disappointed me a little.
Ambiance: 8.5/10
I loved the warmth of the restaurant, and the rustic feeling which was all amplified by the wonderful live music. I felt that the really unique aspect was missing a little however.
Food: 8.5/10
We ordered the siciliana pizza and bruschetta. I thought the pizza was really delicious, but the cuts were so irregular! There were tiny thin slices and then one giant one. I enjoyed the brushetta too, and it was well seasoned.
Value for money: 9/10
The food was really worth it, and for the 2 of us it only cost us $20 each!
Menu: 8/10
I loved the pizza and pasta options, but would love to see a vegetarian main added to the list too!
So after trying other restaurants in Sydney... a famous celebrity chef Italian restaurant and being very disappointed we tried here... and could not be happier that we did... the entrees were amazing, calamari cooked to perfection with the perfect aioli and the meatballs tasty, juicy with a delicious tomato sauce...
The pizzas then came out, perfect amount of topping with a crispy crust... tasty and fulfilling...
Desserts looked delicious but I didn’t have room!
Service was friendly and quick, there was a lovely ambience with live music playing that was at the perfect volume and they accommodated the split bill for us...
Thanks for a great evening, i will be back!
Lovely family dinner at a popular pizza restaurant.
Pros:
- Fast and extremely friendly service.
- Reasonable prices and good food.
- Live music on Wednesday night.
- A wide variety of food and beverages.
Cons:
- None.
We had sangria wine, pasta and pizza here. Pizza and pasta are good, and a jug of sangria wine is enough for three people. 5 stars for the friendly waiter and cashier
Macchiato is my new favorite restaurant. From the minute you walk through the doors the atmosphere is amazing. Busy, vibey and customer service top notch. On arrival it was discovered that I had made a mistake on my booking and made our reservation for 7.30 am and not pm!!!! There was not a table to be had!!!! I hit quick panic mode as we were there to celebrate my
Moms 78th bday and all 10 of us were standing there in disbelief. An angel by the name of Nicholas ( the manager) moved mountains to accommodate us. He moved customers around and Within 10 minutes he had us all seated. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 He was really unbelievable to do what he did for us on one of his busiest nights. I can’t thank him enough. That was just the beginning...... then the food arrived!!!!! I don’t know what to rave on first from the geschmuck arancini balls to meatballs or maybe the Gorgonzola salad. I can’t choose which was our favorite entree. My son said his pizza was incredible, thin, crispy and just the way you would like a pizza to taste. Two bottles of wine later we were onto our main course. Beef ribs to die for, marinara spaghetti was in another league and the eggplant ragu the birthday girl’s favourite. I was so full at this stage from tasting everyone’s dish so I shared my spaghetti napoletana which was cooked to perfection the spaghetti was cooked aldente and the sauce you could drink it was so delicious. We finished off our meal with coffees and tiramisu birthday cake. The entire meal from start to finch was flawless . I truly can say it has been a very very long time when I have been to a restaurant and every single person was raving. So I have to say if you want a really good and fun night out with exceptional food and great service go straight to macchiato. I promise you are in for a treat. Thank you Nicholas and all the staff for a wonderful birthday celebration and for helping us out the way you did. Can’t wait to come back. Regards Donna!
Liked the ambience! Very busy as we went on a friday. Ordered a couple pastas and pizzas and ribs. Pasta full of flavour. Servers were polite and ready to assist when needed 😊 didn’t get to take photos of the food as we were starving
The hygiene of this place is fantastic! Starting from the cutlery, tissues, table which were shining enough for getting my appetite increasing. I had beautiful egg benedicts & big breakfast which are go along with their beautiful hotchoc. The waitress are so so damn friendly! The only thing that i feel uncomfortable with is, the interior is kind of so dark, especially in the early morning. It feels like having a romantic dinner in the morning. I guess this place is superb for dinner as there is a bar and great pizzas! Will def come back for their dinner serving!
Came here for breakfast on a Monday, there were plenty of seats and the service was prompt. I ordered a ham & cheese croissant and a hot chocolate. The croissant was huge and there were a lot of ham, it was very filling. The hot chocolate was a little sweet for my liking, but overall I was satisfied.
Will come here again during lunch hour to try out the pizza.
Been here a couple of times now and both times I have enjoyed the food and the efficient service. Good pizza, good coffee. Today I had the lasagne and the pear and gorgonzola salad. The salad had hearty chunks of gorgonzola cheese and enough pears to balance it out. Delightful. The lasagne was the perfect size. Melt in your mouth stuff. It was served at the right temperature and not too much cheese so it didnt burn your mouth. Really nice ragu. Once again it had a good balance. I've had the Tiramisu here before as well. A nice generous serving presented nicely. A satisfying finish.
Come here for dinner Valentine's day. Staff very friendly an was seated fast.
Food was great!! We just went with pizzas after a small entree of calamari each.
Very tasty an generous with the toppings.
A good night out will definetly be back :)
Muy bueno y la pizza es realmente italiana!!, el local es grande y está muy bien ambientado. Recomiendo, especialmente las bruschettas y la pizza Margherita. Los camareros son muy atentos.
This place has always been a favourite to grab some quick lunch during breaks or after class. Their pizzas are insane and toppings are put quite generously.
The staff has always been friendly and have full knowledge about their menu. Except the last time , o ordered for a mojito and they made me wait for 20 mins and then a lady came by to tell they don't have the ingredients.
Large Italian restaurant open til midnight. Some entry-level gourmet dishes for very reasonable prices! Serve wait time wasn't too long - about 15 mins at a just about full house. Overall satisfied, I think the menu items and ambience would work well as a smaller more intimate reataurant, but no doubt a popular choice for groups looking for something relatively cheap of this standard.

The best of Europe Dining in sydney
A group of 10 of us friends visited this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning.
As you enter you feel like you are no longer in Sydney. The ambiance and the feel of the restaurant ....... you feel like you are in either Italy or France. The different European accents of the waiters and waitresses also helps.
The breakfast was with good quantity and fairly priced. If you will be visiting this restaurant for breakfast, I suggest you buy the Big City Breakfast and you should at least try their Coffee. Their coffee is one of the best I have had.
Their service..... though it may need to be a bit more quickly as we waited for our coffee for a fair bit, however maybe this was due to us being a group of 10. I think the ordering system has to be upgraded. The waiters were writing down on a notepad with pencil. A lot of restaurants these days are all using electronics. A couple of coffees arrived incorrectly and as we already waited a while to get them, we didn't bother sending them back.
Aside from the above slight negative comment, I do recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Salt and pepper calamari as entree, came with garlic aioli.
Intensive pizza range, and the wood fire gave you a unique flavour.
We ordered 6 pizza, gamberi, lamb, spicy chicken, 4 cheeses, pepperoni and vegetarian.
My favorite was sway between the spicy chicken and humble spicy salami, both are good.
Lamb and gamberi also nice.
For Dessert, vanillin on the menu, chocolate, vanilla and pistachio.
All equally good!
Unfortunately coffee is not that great, has this bitter burnt taste and leaving unpleasant taste.

Fantastic customer service and chefs, amazing food&drinks and good looking staff too 😉😉
I ordered the marinara pizza and lychee drink, it was incredible overall the experience, I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun experience whilst craving for some good woodfire pizza ☺️☺️
Great Italian Food, Very warm and cosy to eat and food was just amazing!! Well done very impressed ❤️✨. The coffee was good, pizza was amazing and how the crust it just fine and pasta was all over my mouth which made me want more 😩☺️
In our fist night in Sydney, we passed by this place on our way to the hotel and decided to try it.
We order take away of a vegetarian pizza, reasonably priced and delicious dough and toppings.
The place seems quite nice as well, with a band playing and friendly staff.
We later heard from friends that they have great pastas as well, will definitely try next time!
Amazing food! My favourite place in Sydney. I have had dinner here from long time and I liked everything I've eaten.
The staff is nice and competent as well.
The service here is impeccable. It's the best I've seen in any cafe in the CBD so far. You can tell that they train their staff to be well mannered. I had a delicious hot chocolate before work. Will be a regular here.
today's buger and chips was too salty! The dish name call Macchiato Buger. My friend orded pasta was not tasty enough... Maybe never order again, but mud cake always perfect!!!pizza was beautiful!!
The vegetarian options were pretty slim, and a little overpriced. The mushroom risotto however, was amazing, and mojito pretty good too. While service was a bit patchy, they made up for that with a magician, who definitely made the experience memorable. Looking forward to my next visit
Extremely busy and in the heart of Sydney! It's a little bit like a glorified La Porchetta chain, but with far superior quality product.
We went for a late night Pizza when we arrived, and were impressed at how quick it came out - we only waited about 7-8 mins for that pizza from the time of ordering and it tasted hot, fresh and delicious. Waiting staff are predominantly Italian and French and are absolutely lovely.
One tip - don't go here if you don't like a bit of a noisy atmosphere. Fairly priced and recommended.
Great find in the CBD! Lovely Italian food, beef carpaccio entree was particularly good and my partner was raving about his pizza. I've seen some negative reviews about the service but ignore them - our waitress was very sweet and couldn't have been more attentive. There was a slight delay on two of our mains but they were so apologetic and then gave us free dessert/coffee - if that isn't good service then I don't know what is! Would definitely recommend!
-hot chocolate: it was good
-tiramisu: overpriced and so so (its $12 What?!)
-strawberry tart: so so
-my friend said the pasta was just okay
Stumbled across this place and loved it! I had the chicken skewers which I enjoyed but missed the fact it came in a focaccia. It looked like a home made loaf which was huge but I was looking for something light so I didn't eat it. My son had a margarita pizza and it was so tasty! The base had so much flavour.... not sure how they did it with just cheese and tomato on a pizza! Good kids meals, finished off with ice cream and strawberry sauce.
Visited Macchiato and love the ambience interiors. Sitting down, chilling with yummy Italian food. Kudos to the polite and friendly staff :)
Thank you to the lovely waitstaff here. I ordered a pasta dish without realising it had chilli in it (my mistake)! And the lovely waitstaff had my dish changed without me asking. That's service!
Not great service, for example: our food arrived and we still hadn't received our two glasses of wine (definitely not the most difficult drinks to make!). Took another 5-10 mins to get out drinks. However, the two pasta options we had were really good. The other negative that I found was that they didn't have very many vegetarian pasta options which was a bit annoying.
This place has got a huge space. Promptly seated on arrival, order was taken promptly too. We ordered Pollo pesto pizza which came out fairly quickly and tasted delicious. The toppings were just right, neither too much nor too less. The crust was thin on the inside and a bit crunchy on the outside. Not sure about their pasta however, I would recommend this place for pizzas.
Beautifully flavoured seared prawns, and a great pizza although it possibly had a bit too much rocket on it. Unfortunately the kitchen had run out of three of the items I wanted to order - however the service from the waitress managing that situation was excellent! I'd give it another go.

We had breakfast here this AM. Interesting menu had quite a few options for pizza as a breakfast option. We both decided to order the Mediterranean. This was scrambled eggs, tomatoes, feta, zartar on sourdough
The presentation was a bit off as they just piled everything on the bread. As a result the sourdough was soggy. It tasted quite good but I would have preferred something more like an avo or mushrooms when I am being charged 14$.
The coffee was actually really good. Quick service on a busy Sunday. I would probably go back for the pizza.
Impressive breakfast menu with expectations delivered & served fresh. Customer Service needs a bit of a polish, but overall satisfied with our visit.
A Macchiato Coffee will hit the spot.
Highly recommended for breakfast.
After the bad pizza experience last weekend. The pizza from Macchiato definitely washed off the traumatic experience my tongue had! We had pepperoni and bisctecca pizza which was filling and rich in flavour 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. Although the calamari was a bit disappointing, due to its small portion! But overall the pizzas and ambience made up for it!
Will definitely come back again and try more pizza
I ordered a take away pizza. The service was fast, extremely friendly both on the phone and in the restaurant, the pizza range was great, they even did gluten free bases, and finally...it was delicious. Would love to go back and dine it as the atmosphere looked good.
We had such a great experience here. Our waiter was attentive and helpful despite it being a busy night. Pizzas were the best we have had during our stay in Sydney. This place has a great vibe and genuine Italian hospitality.
We had had a long day and we're looking for coffee. Being the Melbourne coffee snob that I am I am often sure it will be hard to get a good coffee in Sydney but this place surprised me. Atmosphere is lovely, service attentive and the coffee perfect. We also ordered a pistachio and chocolate cannoli which were lovely. Would like to come back to try the pizza as it looked lovely.
Friday night and hadn't made a booking anywhere, stumbled upon Macchiato and there were people everywhere. The man at the door took our name and said there would be a wait. We didn't mind as we could see the restaurant was full and also saw a couple of the meals and they looked great.
We waited less than 10 minutes and were taken to a nice table by the back.
Sat down and our waitress was over shortly after. Super nice girl, took all our orders straight away.
First the lychee mojito jug came. Yummo!!
Then entree of arancinis (vegetarian) and the bowl of chips. Again both delicious, arancinis could of been a bit hotter but they were still good.
Mains were the "ortolana" (veggie pizza) and the "Carnivora".
Carnivora came out looking a little plain, my partner ate a slice then I realized it had no chicken on it which was one of only 4 ingredients. Our waiter was over to check on the meals as my partner was half way through his second slice, she was extremely apologetic and organized a re make straight away. Not long after the new one came out and my partner instantly noticed the improvement and was glad we said something.
Both extremely satisfied with our meals and would be happy to recommend to friends.
Also tried the berry mojito jug and that was delicious.
