I was very impressed with everything. Good value for Sydney. Every dish was excellent and prepared well. Had private dining room (we were so noisy group of 14 that was good for everyone). Wonderful choices, highly helpful and polite staff. Couldn't have asked for better night.
Very happy with my trio taster. The pork belly, lamb rib and beef cheek was beautiful. The restaurant has lovely ambiance and very French. Our waiters were sweet and helpful.
Amazing food, my steak was incredible. Can't wait to come back when I'm in Syd again next week
Highly recommend. Portion size was impressive, and costs weren't extravagant. If you're in the area looking for a great feed, then this is the place for you!!
Great value for excellent food and the staff provided really good service. We were a group of 5 on a Friday evening and were made to feel very special. Well done!
Beautiful French style restaurant! Been there for breakfast and dinner, both really pleasant! Friendly kitchen and floor staff! Definitely will be back.
Came here for lunch and it was beautiful! A hidden gem in the middle of the city. Will definitely be coming back!
Second time proved the first was not a fluke ...great service and the food was amazing. It's a real inner city stand out that seems very few are aware of. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful food and friendly staff. What more could you want?
Awesome place, the meat was delicious ! Will go back again
Very accommodating service, delicious food in a great location. Will be back. Thank you!
Awesome Food. Great atmosphere. Friendly wait-staff. Highly recommended.!
I dined here with a friend on a Friday night. The restaurant felt a little bit disjointed but I think that was because it was quiet when we were there so we opted to sit near a window. Here are the dishes that we tried:
- Chicken liver pate - can't go wrong. Really smooth texture and served with plenty of mini toast
- Sardine fillets with eggplant, tomato and mozzarella - I loved the flavours of this dish. The presentation of the dish was a bit odd though. Don't let that put you off the flavours.
- Wagyu tartare - really good. I haven't actually had tartare with an egg before and I enjoyed the experience. The egg was cooked with the white and not just the yolk but I think it worked well.
- Tasting trio (crackling pork belly, grilled lamb and braised beef cheeks) - stand outs for me were the crackling pork belly and beef cheeks. Crispy skin on the pork and the beef cheeks were very tender.
Overall, I enjoyed the food at Le Petit Flot. I think for a hotel restaurant it is quite enjoyable but the ambience could be improved.
Popped in for Sunday morning Brekkie with the wife and kids. Menu is really good. Food was amazing. Chili Relish rocked. Kids smashed everything which is always a good sign. We even had desert to to it if as the staff were amazing helpful friendly. Coffee is good. Very well priced. We walked away full and happy with smiles on all faces. Thanks sir
We actually come here all the time as regulars (we’ve been here literally 20 times) because of the convenient location, great service, pleasant ambience and delicious food. For lunch I like the rolls as it’s easy and fast to eat (not to mention super yum). For dinner I enjoy the salmon as it’s perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth. I also recommend the angel hair pasta, fish of the day and the mushrooms (side).
We were a group of 12 people on a Friday evening so we had the private room at the back. It's a beautiful room that I'd definitely recommend for big groups or functions. I shared the Tasting Trio of Crackling Pork Belly, Grilled Lamb and Braised Beef Cheeks and the Angus Onglet Steak. For me, the Braised Beef Cheeks were the highlight. They were so meltingly tender and stringy that I could pull them with my fork. The texture was similar to pulled pork or brisket. My medium cooked steak was also very tender and flavoursome and in my opinion, a perfect medium. Some people on the table reported that their steak was cold though. I think they wanted to bring out the food at the same time for the 12 of us which means some dishes had gone cold. Service was good but it did take a while for the food to come out.
Best French onion soup I’ve had!!
Lovely service, beautiful food. So glad I tried it out. The beef cheek was so tender it melted off the fork!!
A beautiful space, great concept and incredible food! Tartare and capellini pasta were my faves and i'll 100% be returning. Its BYOB but the wine selection there is great
Dinner here a few days ago with my partner and we both thought the food was excellent. Very very nice, we could not fault any of it... that said, we aren't pompous bearded skivvy wearing bike riding basket weaving self confessed "masterchefs" who go out to eat solely for the purpose of reassuring ourselves that we could have cooked far better on our solar stove in our fully self sustained zero carbon footprint semi in Newtown.
We just like to enjoy a nice meal in a nice restaurant with some degree of service from the wait staff.
We got that here.... and some great food and wine.
We will come back here and we would definitely recommend it to you.
Great place for celebrations, the venue is spacious and elegant and waitstaff are attentive. We had a selection of entrees. We had the carpaccio, which was fresh with just a hint of lemony zest. The wagyu beef tartare was reasonably authentic except perhaps the egg white on it? It should really just be an egg yolk. I really liked the sweet prawns and truffle angel hair pasta. Just a tinge of fresh sweetness from the prawns, al dente pasta and a touch of truffle which was not too overpowering.
For mains, I had a perfectly seared barramundi, crispy on the skin, perfectly seasoned and soft flaky flesh. Possibly one of the best seared fish I have had.
Finally, we ended with a selection of dessert. I enjoyed the chocolate fondant but it didn't quite ooze down the center as much, although taste and texture was on point. Also had the french earl grey tea bavarois. Didn't quite taste the earl grey in this dish which rendered it a bit pointless. Creme brulee was perfectly done.
There is some polishing in the dishes but I would return. I think the food is quite good, reasonable price point, great wine and a very elegant atmosphere for quiet dinners.
Yum loved all the food generous portions don't be put off by the fact this is in a hotel- the food and service are excellent. They also have a 2 course express lunch menu for $29. Definitely will be back. Very lovely French bistro feel.
I was despairing at not being able to find a table for dinner without a booking, and I ended up here at Le Petit Flot purely because it was attached to my hotel. Best decision I ever made, because this quiet French restaurant has an impeccable wine list and a really delicious menu. The Japanese-inspired steak tartare was to die for, as was everything else I ate, and somehow no-one knows about it yet. Service was lovely and attentive without being over the top. Can't wait to come back!
Located inside a hotel near Pitt street, this French restaurant is truly a hidden gem.
We hardly give any restaurant a fiver unless everything is perfect. This is one of the perfect ones.
Let's start with the entrée. We chose Amaebi sweet prawns angel hair pasta and wagyu tartrate. Both dishes are prepared to perfection the smell and the taste are probably more dominant than the look.
For mains we ordered the Spatchcock, Angus steak and The Tasting Trio which is crackling pork Belly, grilled lamb and braised wagyu beef. Again everything is cooked to perfection. They don't need to ask how you like the steak. I wish every steak house is like this. You are encouraged to order the sides as the mains are all protein. We ordered sauteed greens and baked sweet potato which turns out better than expected.
For dessert we ordered Chocolat fondant, nougat glace and vanilla infused apple. we liked all three with preference exactly in that order.
Bottom line : Perfect food. Great service. Good Value for the quality
Food was good and portions were decent. We had kingfish carpaccio and prawns wrapped in angel hair pasta with truffle oil. Both were delicious, interesting and the highlight of my meal. Steak main was well cooked.
Service was very friendly.
The restaurant is part of a hotel so is a little hidden and quiet but I wasn't looking for a rowdy place as I prefer a place where I can enjoy food and chat.
Came here on a groupon and was very happy.
Had dinner here on a quiet tuesday night. The restaurant is kind of hidden inside a hotel in a laneway. But inside its nice modern, service was friendly (and we got a lot of it as they werent very busy) and food was lovely, french bistro with a modern twist. (Photos uploaded). We had steak tartar, yum... cud be a tad less salty, but was very cold and fresh. The fried scampi wontons were delicious. The mains were not worth calling home about, but were still good meaty dishes. We ordered extra side, which is recommended as all the main is ... is meat. The deserts were yum! Pricing is hotel restaurant prices. But we went on an ouffer for $79 for 3 courses 2 people and that was pretty good value.
I was really impressed with the quality of food in this new restaurant. I attended a function here so the evening started with some canapes, crispy whitebait fritters and pate brioche sliders....delicious. For entree the Amaebi Sweet Prawns, Cold Angel Hair Pasta & Truffle Konbu Dressing was a standout. The clever influence of Asian flavours in the dishes reflect the skill of the kitchen staff. Will definately be back.
Found this restaurant on fork app. Made a booking after reading the reviews from others. Wow..we really enjoyed the food there! Great ambient too!
Love the food here! They also have vegetarian / gluten free options. Good selection of wines. The angel hair pasta and wagyu beef cheeks with carrot jus were cooked to perfection. Melts in my palate. Love the interior decor layout and Ambience was classy. The waiter who served me was very friendly , attentive and smiley.
I and my wife had a nice dinner yesterday on Thursday evening at this hidden-gem French restaurant located in a CBD boutique hotel. The foods are modern French dishes with Asian / Japanese twists and they're all look good. We tried their angel-hair pasta entree, hanger steak and three-grilled items (lambs, beef cheek and crackling pork belly) for main dishes and the chocolate fondant cake with berry coulis as desserts. They all taste nice and represent good value for your money.
The place has great ambience, bright light and perfect size. Last night was busy but still OK for you to have decent conversation, unlike some other popular bistros / restaurants in the CBD which are very busy and have high noise level. You also don't have to make a reservation or wait for long for a table. I hope this little charming place will keep that way though I would doubt it once more people know about it.
Drink collection is quite good, we had a nice French rose wine and an espresso martini. They have beers, cocktails, wines and spirits on their beverage menu. The floor staff sometimes a bit hard to find but they provide excellent service and try their best to accommodate your requests.
Every dish was served with some great flavours but the “braised beef cheeks” was just one, not two but also limited with content on the plate. There wasn’t much of Japanese touch to the dishes, more French recognised.
Service was very attentive, ambience of the restaurant was filled jazz music, quiet with only a hand full of tables in use.
Recommend to visit at least once.
Romantic restaurant hidden away on second floor of a hotel, with fantastic food and warming service.
We loved the food here. They felt fresh and true to each ingredient's taste. The focus seemed to be creating simplistic dish that brings out flavour of meat, fish or pasta, without using much salt or overpowering sauce.
The cold pasta was really special. To me it felt like somewhere between Japanese soba and pasta salad. The prawn in it were raw-ish that reminded me of nigiri sushi.
Service was friendly and welcoming. They were always ready to chat about each dish and wine, and also paying lots of attention to make sure we are comfortable. It's been awhile since we felt service so sincere.
Ambience is on a quiet side, so that we can have calm conversations. There was no loud music, or any patron being loud. It's a great place to actually connect with your company.
Hidden gem. Very glad to have stumbled across it as a friend was staying at the hotel. Quality food and lovely service. Thanks.
