After passing by a million times we have finally been able to experience this lovely place yesterday morning for breakfast. I had a wonderful chai latte and raisin toast. I really couldn't ask for more as i was so full with the best 2 pieces of raisin toast i have ever had in my life. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman which i now know is the owner, David Bitton. He is super friendly, i came back today for some takeaway beverages. Will definitely return!... Thank you David and your staff for such great service and flavour. Such a privilege
My son Joshua Dasey and his lovely wife Chris Low brought me to this beaut place for a birthday lunch for me. A perfect place for a splendid meal. Wait staff, warm and professional and it was lovely to meet the guy running the place, David.
Been to a lot of "kid friendly" places and Bitton Gourmet is the best I've come across. Exceptional service by our waiter tonight -going above and beyond to ensure the adults and kids were well looked after. Also the food on the 'enfants' menu was actually kid friendly and not over seasoned with too much salt. Will be telling our friends about this place and we will definitely be back.
bitton is simply and without doubt the best cafe in the area. It is consistent, well priced and such a friendly cafe / restaurant. The food and service are top notch. If you haven’t been here you are missing out on a wonderful experience.
We’ve passed this place so many times and it’s usually busy. We finally tried it and had Eggs Benedict, coffees, and a chocolate shake - and we were so impressed! We would have wanted to try other items on the menu but we weren’t hungry enough. As an additional treat they didn’t know it was my birthday but we got some complimentary Crème Brûlée to finish it all off!! We will be back!!! Love love love
Delicious food and pastries. Love getting takeaway and eating it in the park opposite. Particularly recommend the granola, baguette with saucisson/cornichons and the croissants with Pepe Saya butter and delicious house made jams. The coffee isn't as good as others in the area but the food makes a visit worthwhile!
The whole experience was excellent from the service to the food and finally the coffee. Went for brunch with friends and loved it. Quality menu and quite a hidden gem.
Amazing restaurant in Alexandria! We had a 3 course meal in 1 hour! I've never had such efficient service before and the food... every course was delicious! Thankyou to the chefs for tge amaxing meal! I give you 100 stars out of 5 star rating! Each of the staff were so friendly! We enjoyed our night and thank you for making my boyfriend's birthday very memorable! WE WILL BACK!! [767550639:Duncan]
We are Bitton Alexandria regulars (and by regulars I mean, on the daily) and today decided to have lunch at Bitton Oatley. I'm selfish, I want BOTH locations in walking distance please!
What a beautiful spot you guys have in Oatley. Loved the whole layout and decor in the restaurant (it's huge!) and of course the food and wine was amazing as always. I love it when a restaurant is busy and the staff are handling it well. Lots of smiles and no request was too much. We have never been to Oatley before but you've given us a reason to come back!
We had our sons christening at Bitton Oatley today. It was fantastic. Great service, delicious food, wonderful area for the kids to play. All our guests commented on how great it was! The live music was a bonus and was great, too! Thank you so much David, Sohani and all the staff!
Bitton Oatley is my favorite breakfast location in the area. Always greeted personally and most of the time by David himself. Well price and always delicious. The Potato Rosti's are friggin amazing. Hands down best Vanilla milkshake I've ever had.
I was at Chris & Jason wedding it was wonderful the room looked lovely the food was excellent the service was great it was amazing afternoon
The best place for everything from morning coffee ☕️ fix to awesome celebration dinner and your kids are welcomed
Thank you guys for an excellent job and feeling to be welcomed anytime.
See you soon...
A perfect elegant lunch with friendly, efficient service. Seems to be a bit of an oasis with no other stores or restaurants nearby, with a nice buzz on the Friday afternoon we went. The pumpkin velouté was creamy as creamy can be, and the lobster macaroni and cheese was luxurious, with a side salad with truffle oil. Wow.
One of the best brunches I have had in a while. Excellent coffee and even better food. The highlight was definitely the Chilli Scrambled Eggs (pictured) - the perfect amount of heat and so darn tasty. I love at the end of meal they give you complimentary mini creme brûlées (pictured). What a lovely touch. I can’t wait to go back. #bitton
Pan Fried Cod : 😁 Great
Chicken Breast : 😍 Amazing
Sausage & Lentils : 😁 Great
Braised Lamb : 😁 Great
Bread & Butter Pudding : 😍 Amazing
Stick Date Pudding : 😍 Amazing
Classy and elegant with a great atmosphere, Bitton has so much more to offer than just cafe food. They’re open for dinner and what a treat it was. Highly recommend the Chicken Brest Dish as a main and the Bread & Butter Pudding for dessert. Here we were given complimentary entree and dessert too. On display they also have freshly baked breads and their own creative spreads and sauces. And their service was beyond appreciated. Waitstaff were attentive and smiled throughout the whole night. What more can a restaurant offer ?
Small cafe & restaurant with amazing service. We were given complementary starters and dessert which were both mouthwatering. Although I wish I could give this place all five stars, the mains themselves were a hit and miss. The chicken breast was amazing and the sausages weren’t too bad. The Cod fillet was average and so was the lamb. The food was also overpriced for serving size and quality of food. I would come back to try other food, but this menu didn’t do it for me.
One of the best breakfast experiences in Sydney so far 🍳 I like when you can simply have a great chat with the owner about anything from family stories to grand final ⚽️ (yes France 🇫🇷). Then he brings you a complementary sweets just to make you feel even more welcomed 💖 The food is so well balanced that you don’t feel hungry after it 🥘 at all. Look forward to reading the autobiography, and happy la Fête nationale - vive la France 🇫🇷
Staff are always so friendly and accomodating. Food came quickly and we had absolutely no complaints about the taste. Just delicious! Recommend the Benedict!
Haven’t been back for years and the owner is till the same nice, warm and kind! The food is amazing and fabulous. Makes me want to come back again!
Beautiful little cafe with great selection of French food. We went for breakfast and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. They had potatoes in place of the usual English muffin and while it was rich, it was also delicious. Will definitely be back to try the lunch menu.
Love the relaxed atmosphere and the informality of this charming French neighbourhood cafe. Came here for a friend's birthday lunch and loved the truly French dejeuner menu. Choose between such dishes as Salad Nicoise, Croque Monsieur or a Caramelised Pulled Confit Duck Burger. Desserts such as Lemon Tart, Passionfruit Pana Cotta or Eton Mess with Oven Roasted Peaches and Toasted almonds are all very enticing. It is fun to do a bit of shopping here too and stock up on pantry essentials that David makes such as spice pastes, tapenades, jams, honeys, dressings and oils. Only wish I lived in Alexandria where they have a home delivery service!
Excellent customer service as always. Food and coffee are very nice too. The complimentary creme brûlée is impressive! Definitely will come back and possibly try to have dinners here too.
Lovely setting, excellent service
We started our late morning with two lattes. I ordered a confit duck burger and my partner chose crab omelette. The confit duck was a bit hard and dry so I asked for a beef burger instead. The server was extremely accommodating and got me one almost in no time. This burger was just great; it could not be done better.
We'll be back soon for some more of this little French café.

Quite a nice little setup here across from the park in a nice leafy street. I'd imagine this would be perfect in Autumn or spring with the leaves falling/ blooming.
Service was exceptional with fast seating through to delivery all with the casual warm smile.
Food was good and nicely plated, making you want more
The sauces this place makes are out of this world! So much flavor. And the best part is you can buy them in bottles to take home after your meal!
Tasty, interesting combinations, great service. Would return happily....
Three of us critical eaters ate dinner here and we all gave it the thumbs up...👍🏻Caramelised duck, orange jelly and artichokes, followed by crepes Suzette (an oldie but a goodie... Not flaming/flambé
😕 but delicious nevertheless).....
A neighbourhood staple and both coffee and service are generally on point here! Small menu but always delivered perfectly. A bit disappointed with the presentation and quantity of brunch this morning- not the usual Bitton standard- and the staff seemed new and mucked up orders. We hope to see this great cafe back to its usual self.
At my friend's glowing recommendation, I tried Bitton for the first time.
It was a miserable day but the restaurant felt warm and cozy. The staff were friendly with a good sense of humour and made us feel at home. We ordered a charcuterie board to share and the portion was more than generous. The board was filled with delicious cured meats and a good pork terrine. We also ordered a matching wine with it. The mains were great too, the duck confit and the steak were prepared well. my friend enjoyed the apple crumble dessert while I enjoyed the pepe saya buttermilk ice cream.
We received great service, good food and we enjoyed the night! Thanks!
I had the most delicious lunch on Tuesday the 12th, it was the Beef Eye Fillet with Bernaise Sauce, Pomme Frîtes and Salad.
I don't know why it's so delicious that it makes me finish every thing off the plate every time that I order this dish
The food was fresh and tasted great. The service was very good. We even got some complimentary crèmes brûlées at the end of our meal which I found was a really nice touch.
A great combination of great service and really good food. Group of us and some with children so they were very accommodating as they have a playroom for the little ones. I had the Buckwheat Pancake which was more a crepe as it was filled with Ham, Gruyere Cheese, and Tomato. It was topped with a Fried Egg which was runny and served with a green salad. It was meant to come with a White Wine & Tarragon Sauce but instead came with their Spicy Tomato Sauce which still tasted really good as they bottle this and sell it too. I also had a bowl of Mocha for the novelty value. It had probably 500mL of delicious coffee. I also had the Posched Pear Crumble With Pepe Saya Buttermilk Ice Cream. Totally delicious! A welcome and unexpected surprise was the complimentary creme brulees for the whole table. It was compliments of David Bitton himself whom I saw on the floor chatting to the diners which is a lovely touch.
I really like this place. Friendly staff and it's kid friendly with a small play room for the children. Certain dishes were really well done such as the cheese souffle but I was a bit disappointed with the Lyonnaise salad. The poached egg was crumbed and deep-fried. I would have preferred the regular style poached egg.
Amazing evening! What more could you ask for but a Pepe Saya inspired menu. It was hard to pick a winner between the entree, main and dessert. If you live in the inner west and want to do something special on a Tuesday evening before Easter 2016, look no further. These guys rock and we loved every minute (except for when we had to pour our own wine, but we like our wine and drink quickly!)
Service here was superb. We had our engagement family brunch here and the food was incredible. Pricey but worth it. I had the omelette, which I must say was the greatest omelette I've had in some time. Looking forward to coming back here to try their lunch menu.
Beautiful food...great coffee....kinda pricy
We had breakfast at Bitton a few months back. The service was efficient if not slightly unfriendly but the coffees were spot on. The food was also really yummy and well executed with interesting flavour combinations.
Absolutely wonderful service. Food is delicious too. I had the confit duck great flavours and a full meal, not one where you must order extra veges to fill the plate. I would come back here again especially as the service is so damn good. They almost convinced me to have dessert even though I'm totally full after the main meal purely because they individualised the service so well.
Definitely would come back here
Modern French using great Australian produce. The staff are professional, helpful and efficient. I had a beef eye fillet which was cooked to perfection, Debbie had pork belly with crackling which was delightfully lean served with pear. JJ my 3yo granddaughter had a cheese and ham toastie which was first class. Overall a pleasurable experience.
The Top Line: This french bistro is tucked away in outskirts of Sydney but a great place for date night or some fancy dining in a warm and casual environment. The menu is simple and so is the food. Tonight we had – French onion soup, Ocean Trout, Pork Belly and Bread n Butter Pudding. The Review: This restaurant seems to be divided into two halves (one main, and one side smaller room – both are great and have a warm ambience and a great playlist with perfect volume! The service was extremely good, attentive and friendly :)
What a lovely place to take your someone special and your little one for a meal. These guys have been a fixture of the Erko dining scene for sometime however they are still one of the best. From a kid friendly point of view they are really accomodating and the play area out the back in great for the little one run around in. There are a plentiful supply of high chairs and the staff make a real effort to entertain and interact with the children in the restaurant. With booking times at 5:00 and 5:30 makes it great for an early meal to get the little one to bed on time. Highly recommend these guys anytime and the creme brûlée to finish are great!
As it was Sunday I wasn’t sure which menu we were going to get, turns out it was the lunch one. We arrived and was seated inside (I still find Sydney winters quite warm unlike my Aunt… cold cold cold!).
Bitton Gourmet Cafe aims to provide a 5 star restaurant experience in a relaxed café environment. They achieve this with flying colours with the added benefit of being family friendly. The food is divine, the staff are friendly and this is all offered within a safe enclosed area for parents to relax whilst children to play in the toy alcove. This place is definitely worth the trip to Alexandria!
Bitton's own strawberry vanilla jam, and continued appreciating fine quality imported French butter at length without having to beurre the anguish of forming alien vowels (yes, kill me). Today however was not such a joyous occasion to warrant a double crep, as my Macbook's dear friend of four years, its hard drive of rap music and titles for future novels, took its own life late last night. Bitton's commiseration French
Bitton has been my latest brunch craze. It's one of those places where you're not particularly in the mood to test the waters of something new, and just looking for that quick morning fix of good ol' favourites. On my first trip (yep, repeat offender already) I indulged in the french toast which was delicious. I've only had another memorable french toast experience which was in Lorca , Melbourne and this was has met the benchmark. Loads of fresh and seasonal fruit always helps cut the guilt of having such a sugary delight so early in the day. Poached eggs served with spinach, smoked salmon & hollandaise sauce On my second trip back, I was in an eggy mood, so we opted for the breakfast staples. My companion's poached eggs were delicious, one egg was a little overdone but the rest of the dish was flawless. Sitting on a potato hash brown, the creamy hollandaise sauce was just right. One pan bacon and eggs with wood fire
I am a HUGE fan of Wagyu and I think Bitton Wagyu burger could easily be one of the best Wagyu burger Sydney has to offer. It will set you back $17.90 and considering the quality of the ingredients, I think it’s value for money

We arrived at Bitton Gourmet only to see that so many Sydneysiders had the same idea. After a very short wait, we were lead to our balcony seats with a view of leafy neighbourhood and quickly chose our brekky selections. David Bitton was milling around th

Whenever I'm in a five star hotel, I order a club sandwich - it's my yardstick. The Club Sandwich ($16.90) here gives those hotels a run for their money, even on a ballistic Sunday. The light and airy gourmet food store meets green grocer meets cafe is vi
Nestled amongst the tree-lined main street in Erskineville which becomes Copeland Street, Alexandria is the gourmet foodie's haven, Bitton.
Bitton is somewhat of an institution in Alexandria (or Erskineville as I’ve always called it); its red awnings standing out like a beacon to the area’s young, funky (and sometimes older and stylish) residents. Families with young kids take over the back courtyard while others fill the footpath seating, especially on weekend mornings.
The service at Britton Cafe is amazing!!! The food was amazing! Great atmosphere and a small play area for children. My friends and I got there at 11 and left at 2. It was great!
Apply Tart Tatin with Pear Sorbet. Incredible. Highly recommended.
The Bastille Day dinner was an excellent experience. The service was very good and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the lamb which was some of the best we've had in Sydney. The French pride themselves on their attention to detail and from our experience at Cafe Bitton, this restaurant is no exception.
Perfect Brunch cafe! Glut.... Perfect Brunch cafe!
Gluten free breakfast, beautiful coffee, great service. The spicy lamb sausages are to die for! Handmade butter and tomato sauce is served with all meals.
Complimentary pear jam when you leave, and its on a quiet street. What more could you want?
Came for the sweet crepes with homemade strawberry & vanilla jam - very French menu home style cooking although above average prices. Their homemade chutneys, jams and oils look super delicious!
Great breakfasts. I've only been here for breakfasts.. a few times now. I pretty much always order the croque madame because it's so hard to pass up and its always excellent. It's certainly not cheap but I like it and always get good service.
I look forward to enjoying dinner here at some point to see whether the food quality continues through.
Tasty food, even without David there that day. Came her for the first time in 6 years - not much changed but David Bitton wasn't there to entertain with his French charm. Bitton is not the cheapest of places and always struck me as expensive however other trendy places have certainly caught up on the pricing.
Had to go the croque madame as it's French and they didn't disappoint - very very tasty. The lamb merguez sausages while an expensive side were quite spicy too as I remembered them. If you want to pick up any of the Bitton good range then they're all there surrounding you as you eat. Had to pick up a strawberry and vanilla jam as I had run out.
Really good service and amazing breakfasts
Breakfast. We've been several times. Each time a success (6 times last 6 months 2013). A happy ambience great for kids ,not that we have any, but friends we have taken have enjoyed the kid friendly atmosphere. On the topic of food, cant comment on anything other than breakfast. Each time has been prompt and delicious. Service is friendly and helpful. Warning its busy so make a booking saves on the disappointment.
My boy loves his new "I love Bitton" t-shirt :) And we really do love Bitton! It's child-friendly without compromising food quality or atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and take a jar of jam home!
Book me in. When the in-laws are getting together it can be difficult to decide where to go and even harder to make a weekend reservation.
Bitton was perfect for our Sunday brunch- and they take bookings!!
Great food, although my pie could have been warmer, good wine list and nice coffee.
The out of town parents on both sides were impressed, and there were even puppies parading past to fill any awkward silences- who could ask for more?
Breakfast. Delicious place to nurse a Friday night induced headache. Good strong coffee, solid tasty food. A must go.
Amazing food. One of the best omelettes I've ever had. Coffee well made. Lovely service, very personable and relaxed. Lots of smiles from staff. A new regular for us.
Really enjoyed gnocchi and chocolate fondant - my companion loved her barramundi and 'mess'. Service attentive, David B charming. This bistro is so solid.
I love it how David is always so warm and complimenting. Love the playroom too. A lil pricey though
Great Quality Food. The food is great and the staff are even better!
Firn Favourite. I just love brunching here on the weekends; the food, the service and the coffee are always spot on! David (owner/chef) is always wonderfully warm and welcoming and his staff are always happy to accommodate. The food is fresh and with lovely Australian/French twist.
Bitton. Great food and staff. Child friendly.
Fantastic coffee.

I love the breakfast selections. My favourite is breakfast. Nice choices depending on how you are feeling. The coffee is always nice and I love the feel of the place. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I'll go again for sure.
Long wait at dinnertime. We found the cafe via Urbanspoon!
Our first and so far only visit to Bitton was for dinner on a cold night a few weeks ago. The short of it is that portions are moderate (except for dessert which was small and lacked presentation), prices reasonable and the food very good.
The other side is the long wait between courses if dining on a busy night, and the temperament of the waitstaff - like, don't ask me how's the food when I've been waiting 40 minutes for my mains that just arrived, good service early on but no one wants to catch your eye when they know food is late. Finally, pay the bill at the cashier, it's faster.
