I've been to Inca's Restaurant many times and the food is always amazing! I highly recommend the Papa a la Huancayna & Estofado de Pollo dishes (they are my favourites), although all the dishes are worth a try. The coffee is amazing and the service very friendly.
My first time at a Peruvian restaurant, headed by our Chilean friend! My favorite Pisco Sour ❤ + the beautiful food & staff.. would highly recommend, I will be back next time in Sydney! Thank you all xo

Absolutely delicious food! Loved the Ceviche, Aji pollo, traditional Peruvian drinks & Torta tres leches.. thoroughly recommend & can't wait to try the rest of the menu on our next visits. 🍽
Authentic, tasty food from real Peruvian homemade recepies. A must try for every connoisseur. The environment and food are incredible. Make sure you try the Ceviche Clasico. Don’t bother with BYO. Wine and cocktails are good and affordable. Enjoy!
Lovely authentic Peruvian food, friendly staff and the food is just amazing.
I just recently ate here on Saturday 13th may2017
Muchas gracias for a great experience

Fantastic experience here with friendly attentive staff!
Great authentic Peruvian cuisine... The ceviche was my favourite and a must try!! Also they do a delicious pisco sour ;)
I'll definitely be back!
Very nice and stylish Peruvian food, great pisco sour cocktail and friendly staff .. I love the tres leches for dessert
Went there last Friday to introduce Peruvian food to some colleagues. Excellent quality of the food and very warm service from the staff. We loved all the dishes. Their Pisco Sour and Chicha Sour is a "must" and, in my opinion, one of the best Pisco Sours I've ever tried.
Amazing, tasty food! My favourite was the lamb which was super soft. Perfect seasoning. Wonderful service. Super clean place and such great atmosphere! We loved going and will come back again!! You guys deserve more than 5 stars!
A friend told me about the opening of this peruvian restaurant so we booked a table and went there last Friday night with some friends to introduce our cousine and it was devine! Great cocktails and food. My favourite one was the traditional ceviche. Couldn't try the desserts cos we were too full but next time for sure. The staff was very friendly and the location looks beautiful. Thanks for a great evening :) ... it is a good option to try exotic cousine and cocktails.
The food is delicious and beautifully served. The plates aren’t big but they were all very good. The attention was good and the ambience too.
This was the first time that I experienced Peruvian food and I absolutely loved it. Obviously, I don't have anything else to compare them to but the dishes were full of flavours and the meat was tender and delicious. The cassava chips were a fantastic accompaniment; crispy, delicious and not salty or oily. I really like the "conservatory" at the back where it's bright and cosy.
*Thanks Ompty for introducing us to the incredible cuisine of Peruvian food! Peruvian food was once been described as one of the world’s most important cuisines. Reflecting the history of Peruvian food is Inca’s, the first Peruvian restaurant in Sydney, marking it spot in the food scene for the last 23 years.

This was my first time learning about Peruvian Cuisine, something which i had never even heard of or tried before Incas. If you are looking for traditional food which also slides nicely into the modern food scene, then this place is definietly it.The Ceviche is very delicately put together, and i loved the freshness of the grouper (fish). This dish is served cold but it was the highlight of the day! Pair it with a Pisco Sour or a traditional Chicha (Purple corn juice) with ingredients imported and sourced from Peru. Also enjoyed the Lamb 'Seco a la Nortena' which had a lovely flavour and not too spicy, which again is tailored to the guests request. The lamb on this particular dish was a little dry for my personal taste, but the sauce made up for it and had a lovely falvour and spice.
Overall, a cute hidden away venue with welcoming and passionate staff. Enjoyed the food and drinks, and if i ever want Ceviche i know where to go!
Absolutely loved the food here.
We were invited by Ompty Media and were super grateful for having been able to try Peruvian food.
Such a wonderful taste and the service was really good.
The place was also quite big with both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Peruvian cuisine as a whole has never really taken off in Sydney, despite ceviche becoming a menu fixture in so many spots.Inca’s Restaurant Café & Bar has been trying to remedy that since 1995; first in Newtown, just down from the Enmore Theatre, and now in a much larger venue in Darlinghurst. However more than two decades on, you'll still find the restaurant is taking an educative role, with flat screen televisions showing off scenery, dishes and articles about Peruvian food. The imagery is just one pillar of their immersive Peruvian experience, which also includes music. Familiar songs are given a perversely Peruvian twist, like Sounds of Silence or ‘Sonido del Silencio’, which a Peruvian covers band takes somewhere even folksier using pan flutes. One possible explanation for our slow adoption of Peruvian cuisine is the difficulty in arranging secure supply lines. “We have issues sourcing Peruvian beer, so we decide to import it ourselves,” owner Marco Handabak explains, while we get stuck into our first ever Cusquena Lager ($10). The beer is malty rather than hoppy, which makes sense because...
This is our first time trying Peruvian cuisine. The closest we've come to Peruvian food was on our honeymoon in Miami. Before we comment on the food, we wanted to share what we learnt about Peruvian food and culture. Peruvian cuisine has many influences from all over the world including Inca (Indigenous peoples of South America), Europe (Spanish, Italian and German cuisine), Asia (Chinese and Japanese) as well as West Africa. Similar to Italy, there are different specialties in different regions in Peru. If you are a seafood lover and appreciate fresh seafood then you have to visit the North Coast of Peru as it has the best climate for seafood.
Peruvian cuisine is quite unique in Sydney. Have you been to Peru before? Have you been craving those South American flavours? I've had exposure to South American flavours but haven't had Peruvian food before. Inca's is located in Darlinghurst and aims to bring all those bold flavours to Sydney. Inca's has been in Newtown for over 20 years but more recently has moved to Darlinghurst. Matt and I head here for lunch on Saturday.
Stanley Street may once have been Sydney's Little Italy, but no more as it now boasts a multi-cultural smorgasbord of restaurants and eateries.
Going 23-years strong, Incas Restaurant relocated from Enmore last year to take its place in Darlinghurst opposite Bill and Toni's, another stalwart of the Sydney dining scene. It's a wonderful introduction to Peruvian cuisine, and is there a more authentic start to the meal than Pisco Sour and ceviche. The scallops and king prawns ceviche showcases fresh, plump king prawns and scallops marinated in fresh lime juice, Peruvian chillies and coriander with choclo and Peruvian dried corn (cancha), with sweet potato.
Look out for the Picante de Mariscos which will feature on the new menu. One for seafood lovers, the dish is piled high with mussels, king prawns, pipis, octopus, calamari, orange roughy and crowned with a whole blue swimmer crab, flavoured with lime, mild yellow chillies, garlic and mint.
Thank you to Chef Marco for a wonderful meal.
With pretty cool and ethnic decor, this restaurant had a distinct Peruvian vibe and is located on a small street with other restaurants nearby.
We had a light dish and two main dishes on top of Peruvian cocktail and Inca Kola (Peruvian soft drink) which were amazing!
The starter (fried cassava) is my favourite dish. It’s crispy and delicious. Much better than other fried cassava I tried before.
Then the bass grouper ceviche. Very unique. Fresh premium fish fillet marinated in fresh lime juice and Peruvian chillies.
The last dish was the Lomo Saltado. With a little bit of Asian touch, this dish is very good.
The rice itself is flavoursome and has softer texture than the ordinary steamed rice. The beef and veggies on the dish are pretty tasty too.
Fantastic experience here with friendly attentive staff!
Great authentic Peruvian cuisine... The ceviche was my favourite and a must try!! Also they do a delicious pisco sour ;)
I'll definitely be back!
I remember eating at this Peruvian restaurant, about a million years ago, when it was in Newtown. Moved to Darlinghurst, it’s in a brightly lit space that reminded me a bit of a living room or function hall, but with a family feel to it, and not without charm. One of my dining companions was Chilean and she provided us with guidance for the menu, which is relatively short. A few appetizers. Two choices of ceviche. Four mains and two specials, and some sides.
Came here with a friend for dinner. The restaurant is located in a fun, quaint area of Darlinghurst surrounded by townhouses and dotted with restaurants, bars and cafes. Inca's itself is no exception to the vibe, it has an awesome decor featuring stonework, a bar and adjoining restaurant section. We got a nice table next to the window which was very comfortable.
For entree, we ordered the causa, papa a la huancayna & yucas fritas (cassava chips). The cassava chips were wonderful and crisp and beautiful drizzled with huancayna. The other dishes were also tasty, the only downside being that everything was based on the same theme (i.e. carbs + huancayna) and thus a bit repetitive.
For mains, we got the adobo arequipena & salmon escabeche, which were also tasty but very similar (i.e. almost same sauce, same carbohydrate, same garnish). So overall it was very tasty but the repetitiveness of the flavours made me think that they could do a better job with variety.
This is a Peruvian restaurant, new to Darlinghurst but was in newtown for 22 years before their move here. Interesting dishes with regular menu items and big plans to evolve and continue to share the food story of Peru with new items.
There is seating at the bar and a courtyard – ideal for casual after work drinks!
It would also be suitable for group functions as it is quite a big space. The walls are decorated with interlocking stone and throughout the space are ornaments similar to the ones you would see in the Inca temples of Peru. The space gets a lot of fresh air, natural light and a nice place to sit on a Sunday afternoon,
as we did.
The menu prices are on the mid-upper scale and focus on ceviche and meat dishes. The most popular are their ceviche. Ceviche (depending on your point of view) has its origins in Peru. We tried the scallop and king prawn ceviche, which were
served on canape spoons, followed by the ceviche classico of orange roughy fillet. Both signature dishes are macerated in lime juice and seasoned with flavours of chilli, coriander, garlic, sweet potato and dried corn. A light vibrant starter with the citrus
absorbed into the fresh seafood and the crunch from the dried corn.
They also make some great cocktails – we started with a delicious Pisco Sour and a Passionfruit sour. Using real fruit pulp, this was a great start to our meal. Like you would in South America – we fill the break between courses with a cocktail and so we got a Pina Colada and a Blue Lagoon. They were both well-made. The Blue Lagoon was my favourite of the day.
For mains we had the Adobo a la arequpena stacked pork eye fillets in a golden turmeric coloured chilli paste and served on sweet potato. Great flavour balance, not too spicy. Sitting atop potato, it was beautifully presented. We
also had the Seco a la nortena lamb eye fillets cooked in coriander and red chilli served with Cassava chips (which are a nice change from the usual) and beans. The chilli sauce served with the cassava chips was mild and creamy and very more-ish
For desserts, there are a daily selection of home made Peruvian desserts which we sampled; some fig and quinoa balls with raspberry coulis. We and ended happily with our espresso martinis of two versions: The Tia Maria and Kaluah
A great place to sample Peruvian foods or a few drinks after work. The staff are part of a family business and you can tell they love their work. They are so hospitable and certainly make you feel part of the family. The Next Rush
Walked in and was seen to immediately. Such a lovely restaurant with very attentive staff. The food was absolutely amazing as we devoured Quinoa croquettes and Ceviche to start and chili lamb filet with Cassava chips for mains. It was absolutely delicious. The highlight of the experience was the cocktails.... I couldn't help myself but order two Pisco Sours - a Peruvian favourite. My only gripe was the fact that our mains did not arrive together. - I waited an additional 15 minutes. Not to mention I found it very overpriced. Will probably save it for a special occasion next time.
This place is an absolute gem. Outstanding service from the moment we entered the restaurant, professional and friendly through out the whole meal.
The food was outstanding, with very generous portions. Each dish was delightful. The flavours are unique yet perfectly balanced.
Would definitely recommend for any occasion.
Very comfortable but classy setting. Very pleasant service and a nice menu.
We ordered 50 % of whats on the menu and very happy with it all and am happy to recommend it.
Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere
The unique dishes and freshly prepared meals are not easily forgotten.
The ceviche is definitely my favorite so tender and melts in your mouth.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
