The glamorous Rosetta Trattoria is part of Neil Perry’s restaurant empire and is a sleek spot for Italian at The Rocks, decked out with plenty of sumptuous velvet furnishings and mood lighting to set the ambience. We visited for a celebratory dinner with some friends on a Lime & Tonic shared menu which allowed us to explore their menu. To start, we enjoyed their creamy Burrata served with juicy Bello Rosso tomatoes and the delicious slivers of mixed Salumi (our favourites were the Wagyu Bresaola and the Ventricina pork sausage).
TLDR: Generous servings, amazing service and beautiful serene location.

Thought that we'll only be picking on for each course but we ended up having all of these dishes to share! Needless to say that the serving sizes were generous. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the salumni but this was due to personal preference as the flavours were something that I was not used to.

A nice, regal looking place with very beautiful interior design. It was a very pleasant dining experience where we could see the picturesque sight of Sydney in view. Comfortable seating with different seating arrangements. Ours was a solo soft cushioned couch with a marble table.

Very attentive and friendly servers. Assisted us in every means possible and even gave my sister a complimentary dessert for her birthday! Really enjoyed being served by our waitress.

Would recommend going here for some fine dining experience. Bought this experience from a third party (Lime & Tonic) which may have given it a cheaper market price but overall an amazing experience.
Loved everything, can’t wait to return
Ordered the chefs sharing menu and enjoyed every part from the burrata cheese to the torta Di Verona.
The torta Di Verona was hands down the best part of the meal, but everything was great. The service was also exceptional, the staff were knowledgeable of the entire menu.
Neil Perry’s Sydney Rosetta is a different restaurant from his Melbourne Rosetta. The fit out is light, airy and there is a wonderful outdoor terrace to have a drink or two while you are waiting for your table. Even the menu is slightly different as there is very much an emphasis on seafood. Now on to the food. It’s tasty, good quality Italian food. Modern Italian food. Lastly, the service is friendly and the waiting staff are helpful. #rosetta
Booked over 2 weeks in advance
Came for a special occasion
Very disappointed at the table we received. Right near the back door. Didn’t feel like we were actually in the restaurant. Would have expected better having booked in advance.
Atmosphere looked good but unfortunately where we were seated, the ambience was crap. Couldn’t see kitchen, out the window or anything. This hindered our experience.
Food wise, there were some very good choices.
We had to hunt down a waitress to explain a few words on the menu and she was very rushed and dismissive.
We had to then call our for ordering wine
And do the whole smile and nod when we were ready to order.
This service and ambience is not something I expect from a 1 hatter.
Getting to the food. As mentioned so nice choices. We shared three entrees and then had a main each. Bread was complimentary and delicious.
Entree of the night would be the seafood entree. Everything beautifully cooked and seasoned. Nice lemon dressing over the seafood. Just simple perfection.
The veal and fish soup mains also delicious. Could really taste the crab in the broth of the soup. Perfect. Duck was a fail though. Needed more rendering. Skin was tough and the way it was cut was very chewy and hard to eat. Would reconsider the plating and cutting of this dish.
Carrot side with the housemade ricotta was phenomenal.
Portion sizes and good and generous. But it is quite pricy so it’s good value as such.
Coming from an Italian background, would I return. The food says yes, I know my Mum would love it if I took her, but the lack of service and where we were seated makes me think twice.
Shame.
We recommend Rosetta at the Rocks for a nice Italian dinner, whether for business or pleasure, in a sophisticated, modern setting. It’s a great start if you can swing a table next to the window that looks out onto Grosvenor Place. To begin with, the house-baked focaccia is amazing and so is
The service and food was flawless.
Every aspect of dining here was pleasurable- the staff are actively engaged in the dining experience.
The food was ambrosial and perfectly sized and plated.
Magnificent.
I went with a big party and I must admit my focus was mainly on my fellow diners rather than the food. The service was very good- attentive without being intrusive. We shared various entries, which were very good to excellent. The veal main was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The semifredo also excellent.
Dined at Rosetta on Valentines Day earlier this year. We had a booking and were seated straight away. The complimentary bread and olive oil was delicious. We ordered drinks which were provided to us promptly after ordering. Had the burrata, tomatoes and olive oil for entree which was tasty and flavoursome. For second course, I had the potato gnocchi with duck ragu which was made in-house, soft and not grainy. The portion was a tad small for a main I found. Overall the experience was pleasurable with friendly, attentive staff and prompt delivery of food to the table.
Had a very enjoyable Saturday dinner here. Had some very good dishes. Entree wise, favourites were the octopus (octopus cooked so it was super tender and chickpea plus other accompaniments gave it lots of flavour) and tagliolini (looked plain but pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh). Mains- really enjoyed the trippa alla Romano (the tripe was super soft) and the twice cooked potatoes. Also had duck, veal and carrots which were good but not standouts. The veal was the most unimpressive of all the dishes of the night. Dessert was great. Panna Cotta super silky soft (wished it wasn't so small) and tartufo was good balance of sweet and bitter chocolate. Service was great.
Rosetta is Neil Perry’s latest. Apparently, there’s one in Melbourne already. It’s fancy Italian cuisine, near Circular Quay on George Street in a rather gorgeous Harry Seidler building. The setting (and the ample light that comes through the ceiling to floor windows) is beautiful.
Extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious food and drinks. This place does get really busy on the Friday night.. We ordered seafood antipasto, scampi with blood orange mint, John Dory as day's special and Parmesan crumbled rose veal. Parmesan crumbled rose veal is absolutely delicious and so does the scampi with blood orange, these two are my favourites.
All the entree dishes we ordered were delicious, the burrata, charcuterie, seafood, calamari and pizettes. Had the pannacotta dessert which was devine.
Perfectly positioned across the road from my work, this new venue harks of all things Neil Perry, interwoven with a genuine attempt to bring the level down a notch from his usual haute cuisine.
The decor is funky, nouveau minimalist. I like the Neoz table lamps, whilst the vertical timber strips add architectural detail. The place is buzzing.
The menu is sophisticated, yet also includes wood fired pizza - the quest for hoi polloi is overt.
We order the tagliatelle with spanner crab. The crab is incredibly fresh and perhaps too heavy with garlic. The handmade pasta though is strangely coarse, not al dente, and texturally obtuse. The osso bucco is ethereal - absolutely scrumptious. Ably accompanied by Grosset Chardonnay which is balanced, lively and lovely.
Sour dough probably fresh that morning, but not fresh that moment.
The macchiato to finish was perfect.
Carafes of sparkling water on the table a nice environmental advancement from the usual wasteful bottles.
Service was slick.
Nice restaurant with lovely rockpool customer service. The brass finishes reminded me of the old school Italian Bistro feel which I really like. The menu is varied with lovely courses to choose from. I highly recommend the ragu papardelle and the spanner tagliolini. The torta Di Verona is a must have to end the meal.
Rosetta is a well oiled machine. Excellent, attentive and professional service led by Silvio Brentan. It was great to see Silvio and a few of the former Rockpool brigade, who used to be by far and a way the best service team in Sydney. The food too is top notch. I loved the simple, classical style, focusing only on quality produce, and good cooking rather than the latest fashion. The hand made pastas are excellent (the crab taglioni, while simple, had heaps of fresh, shelled crab meat, beautiful strands of silky, al dente pasta and was just delicious). Veal is a specialty at Rosetta Sydney and i had the veal skirt steak, which was just a quality piece of meat and bursting with flavour. Also the dining room is stunning and looks a million bucks (the refurb probably costed that much)! Rosetta is definitely one Sydney's classiest Italian venues (hence the prices). Only difference is Rosetta focuses on the classics rather than trying to be "modern".
Firstly, the food was so fresh and the flavours beautiful. The timing of the food was as it should be but we did have to ask to order more drinks, and as result they missed out on potentially a further $100 as a result.
We shared the tuna and calamari for entree. The tuna was AHMAZE! The calamari fritti, fine.
For mains, hubs had the zuppi de pesce and whilst delicious, he thought it lacked in abundance for the price, and the sauce was thin. I thought the same of my prawn pasta. It was roughly three twirled spoons of pasta. I was hungry not long after we left.
For drinks hubs had two Chivas 18yo and I had a glass of Gosset champagne and a glass of rosé.
All in all, delicious but not sure if we would return, perhaps .
Wonderful Italian venue by Neil Perry! Full marks for the ambience and attention to detail of the waiting staff and overall decor.
We had the - Burrata, grilled treviso and olive oil - it was definitely one of the best Burrata I've had - accompanied with - Sicilian caponata - and some top quality olive oil.
Mains was a delicious serving of seafood - Zuppa di pesce, garlic bruschetta - followed by heavenly dessert - Torta di Verona!
It is fine dining in upmarket Sydney - so definitely dress to impress - and be prepared to pay through your nose - but leave with a happy heart and a smile on your face wanting to come back soon!
Decent Italian restaurant. The terrace is amazing and very comfortable. Prices are reasonable and food yummy. Also the kids menu by $10 is very affordable
Amazing night out, three delightful courses by the amazing head chef Mario.
Friendly staff, super attentive service elevating this fine dining experience to another level.
All the pasta were hand made and cooked perfectly for a chewy wholesome bite. By far the best pasta in Sydney.
You’re got to try the deserts, flavoursome and light to end the evening on a sweet note
The food was amazing! The pasta honestly was the best I had in a while, also have to say that waiting staff is very welcoming and attentive! Would recommend to everyone!

A lovely business lunch.
The food was excellent, with crispy and fresh ingredients.
The venue and service were also wonderful.
The food was lovely and you get a fair amount for the price you pay. The waitstaff were very kind and attentive, and the dining experience was amazing. The interior of the restaurant is perfect and elegant for date nights, special occasions or even casual dinners. I would definitely come back.
10 out of 10! Came for a dinner as a walk in after the vivid festival and the manager welcome us even without a booking with a lovely table. Authentic and fantastic Italian food with great service from the friendly staff. Definitely recommend the place if you’re after a cozy and vibrating dinner around circular quay.
Such a great lunch for our group of ladies today. Young lady serving our table was excellent, as was the manager. Food was delicious and all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our get together.
