Cannot thank the bar Reggio crew enough for the amazing dinner. A special request for some seafood and they have provided the most satisfying seafood platter, anything beyond my expectations! I even had a vegan guest attend, and they were able to accommodate her 100% with extras. Absolutely amazing and can't recommend this place any higher ! Their staff are truly considerate and catered every request that was made. Will be back many times again and again. Thanks again to all the bar Reggio crew for a memorable evening!
I've been to Bar Reggio a few times ,it never fails to impress me, great food & service. Nothing to much trouble for them. Bruna a server is just exceptional, really so obliging & attentive although not in your face. Thank u Bar Reggio.Regards Lady Ann
Amazing authentic quality food!! My friends and I love coming here! It has quickly become our regular āhang-outā spot. Really high standard in food, good solid portions and tastes so good! Itās consistently great every time. Itās always busy and packed out every night, which speaks for itself. Highly recommend!!
Thank you Anthony for having us. Great food, good atmosphere, amazing staff and hospitality. One of the best Italian food we've had. Will definitely be coming back. See you soon!
Value for money food tastes amazing place was packed and the service was still fast and the meal came out fast great atmosphere though noisy but I like that :) ciao
Terrific friendly staff and the food was Bellissimo. Our favourite place to eat when we visit Sydney š
A good variety of real food and choices of drinks on the menu. We thought our food was delicious, served by friendly staff and we thought it was a great venue. Excellent value.
We have celebrated many functions at Bar Reggio over the years. Love it, food great, service is fantastic as it's always busy, loud and hectic. The staff are great and it's such good value. š
Having tried many Italian restaurants in most of Sydney, it was a breath of fresh air to see such an authentic and rustic venue, similar to those that I found when looking for a quiet place to eat, away from the tourist hot-spots in Cinque Terre. The quality of the food and friendliness of the staff was nothing short of amazing. If youāre looking for a delicious lunch or dinner with your family or friends, look no further than Bar Reggio!
Waited awhile for a table for it was an extremely busy friday night. The wait was worth it. The food was beautiful & the service good. Would most definitely go back next time up in Sydney.
Amazing food accommodated with an authentic atmosphere. The service was excellence. Best Italian food I have ever had in Sydney. Highly recommended!!
Amazing food always!! It's never more or less
It's the best Italian food in the area!
Classic but pretty basic Italian meals with super fast service in a friendly environment. Might seem a bit expensive for this but the serves are huge.
Relaxed. Bring your own wine š
Good seafood and pizza
Sausage porcini pasta was amazing!! And the portion was huge as well. Ordered the marinara pizza and the pizza crust base was incredibly crispy and I was so in love with it too. We were really full after. Also had the tiramisu cake and ricotta cheesecake, and the ricotta cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes Iāve ever had. It was incredibly rich. Everything was perfect. Service was great as well.
Friendly staff, good cross section on the menu. Food tastes good and prices aren't too bad. Always feel well attended to here. They take card now too so it's another plus
Delicious home style Italian cooking
We had a wonderful dinner at this popular Darlinghurst restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious - bruschetta, grilled octopus salad, porcini ravioli and heavenly tiramisu! BYO was a plus!!
I think this place has actually improved or maybe because we were early and few people were there, food might have arrived quicker and staff been more attentive. Food was great, service terrific. A good nightĀ altogether.
How surprising that we could have an amazing Italian dish in a unnoticeable restaurant. Great atmosphere as everyone is happy with their meal, including 5 of us. Love their pizza and mussels. Will definitely come back again.
This should be your go to place when you are craving some pizza. They have this amazing Italian quizine visited the place recently and will definitely be visiting it again
Best pasta ever
Best pizza ever
BYO which is nice
Always busy when I'm there
Staff are really friendly
Amazing food at a reasonable price
A truly authentic spot in Darlinghurst. Italian everything! BYO which is a huge plus! Thereās a courtyard out the back. Perfect for big group dinners that will not break the bank
Delicious italian food! We had the chicken mushroom napoli risotto, PROSCHIUTTO pizza, and a vegetarian napoli pasta, and the homemade Tiramisu.
The risotto and tiramisu were uber licious! The best ive ever had so far. The price is reasonable too. The only thing that need to be improved is the service of taking order (maybe the lack of staff), it took us a while to keep putting our hands up, and they also need to be mindful of those who sit outside, we were out of their sight.
I had dinner with my friend on Wednesday night expecting the place to be quite but it was full of people. We had pizza, pasta, risotto and homemade tiramisu and we absolutely loved everything that weāve ordered. Although the staffs didnt give much attention to us overall this is place is amazing!
We booked a table for 3 earlier in the week and Iām so glad we did cause the place was pretty packed! Good food and fast service too. The place we were seated at was pretty cramped, so we were all seated very close to each other and the sound was pretty overwhelming. Very hard to have a conversation. But overall, definitely had a good meal!
We came here on a Saturday without a booking and had to come back in half an hour. The place was really busy, even when we left.
We ordered Gnocchi with the Napoli sauce and Penne with the sausage sauce. The Penne was definitely more filling than the Gnocchi. But the Napoli sauce was beautiful and had the perfect mix of spices and flavour.
Overall the price was $33 which was quite reasonable.
The service was fast and efficient.
Very yummy italian food here! Definitely make a booking, the place was filled even on a Tuesday night! The place is cozy and busy, very noisy though, don't come here if you're planning to have a nice quiet night.
The place is BYO (with a charge of $2.5 pp). They have an extensive menu, from pizza, pasta to steak and seafood. We got 2 pizzas, a pasta and a risotto to share between 4 of us. The pizza is hot, cheesy and the crust was perfect. We got the sausage and porcini gnocchi and chicken and mushroom risotto. Surprisingly, the risotto is tomato based! All food is delicious and filled us up at the end!Ā
We had an amazing night, very fast and friendly service and very affordable price!
There are places which fills your stomach as well as warms your heart. This this that kind of place. I came out feeling satisfied and full. The portions are generous. We ordered 2 pasta for 3 people and struggled to finish all. Highly highly recommended.
Literally loved here! Everything tasted wonderful and feel like Iāve got a new crush aka eye fillet with al funghi sauce šš also seafood tomato sauce pasta was increasing! Though the price wasnāt that cheap, it was worth paying :)
We had Salmone pasta and half and half Reggio and Ricky's pizza
Everything we had on that day was sooo nice!
Defiantly will go back to this place!
Great atmosphere and food. Feels like a family restaurant which is rare so close to the city and in an area that's full of places that are probably "trendier"
There is my favorite Italian restaurant in Sydney. My lovely dishes are boscaiola fettecini, creamy resitto, supreme pizza and garlic. The pasta is one of the best I ate in sydney. Very tasty and delicious. And the price is not expensive, nice.
23/8--came again, and ordered a cup of coffee latte which is good. Food as good as usual ^_^
Excellent food, excellent peoples and excellent services
2 of us ordered a garlic bread to start with, then a pizza, pasta and risotto. With BYO just 2.5/pp which is great
Good:
Everything good
Bad:
NIL haha
That's one of my regular visit Italian restaurant. Their spaghetti, risotto and pizza are all perfect. And their staffs are very nice and friendly. And they allow byo too.
Bar Reggio at 135 Crown St Darling hurst is Ā a very genuine Italian Trattoria / PizzeriaĀ
which will make you think that you are back it Italy .
It is friendly, casual dining ;but the food is anything but casual .
Choose anything on the the Menu .You will not be disappointed .
Its BYO & Ā bookings are a must on weekends .
The staff are friendly & helpful & one is not kept waiting.
Long lunches are encouraged here.
The servings are large & the salads are fabulous.
The only problem is wondering what to choose .
Here one is spoilt for choice.
When in Sydney , if you are pining for Italian food ,
hurry as fast as you can to this heavenly bit of Italy.

I'd heard a lot about Bar Reggio as good Saturday night dinner spot, and one of the dying breed of Sydney restaurants where you can bring your own alcohol!
I went on a Saturday night for a friends birthday and was treated to a feast fit for a very hungry king. We had a big table of around 20, and the food did not stop flowing all night!
For starters were a range of salads, garlic bread, garlic pizza and bruschetta pizza. Not knowing what was ahead of us we had no idea we should have paced ourselves a little better on the bread!
Next up was pasta time. Huge platters laden with spaghetti, a creamy penne boscaiola, and a spicy creamy fettuccini. I'm instantly attracted to anything with cream and the penne for me was a hit.
But it doesn't stop there. Pizza time! Let me just unzip my dress a bit because I'm running out of room. Keep that in mind when you go, wear stretchy clothes! All of the pizzas came out, cheese, a cheese and spinach, pepperoni, meat lovers. The gang was all there. Nice thin crunchy crust and plenty of cheese.
Surely you'd think that would be it, but of course we needed some protein in the diet! Creamy chicken with delicious breast pieces, and beautifully cooked veal in a tasty brown sauce.
Finally forks and knives were being put down in defeat, as we looked around at each other, the grimaces of food comas beginning to form.
Bar Reggio is a great night out with a bunch of friends, and good value for money! Bring your own dranks and sit back and enjoy all of the food.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! The service is quick, they do BYO and the food taste great! If you don't like loud restaurants - don't come here. The pasta and pizzas we ordered were great. They we're generous with chilli and Parmesan cheese for the table. Would recommend to go with friends!
I just love this place! The pizzas are very authentic, thin and high quality. The restaurant is always chockers which is the sign of a great success.
Solid food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.Ā
Bar Reggio is 100% legit. Nothing fancy and they dont try too hard when it comes to food. Everything is made how it's supposed to and the serving sizes are very generous at a reasonable price.Ā
Today I ordered the ravioli, seafood pasta, garlic bread, and tiramisu. Everything tasted amazing and it's always a pleasure to dine here!
Love Love Love. It is a bit tricky to track whether they are open or not because staffs are very busy and they often don't answer the phone, plus the opening day is sometimes irregular. Regardless of them, I love their steak and pasta.
I don't often say :very good: for pizzas since pizza just tastes like pizza wherever I go ,but this place aced it. Rissoto chilli mussels was great, too.
Willing to go again.
Was a bit salty though.
I did not have great expectations for this place when going on a busy Friday night just before Christmas, The place was super noisy and the menu looked uninspiring. But we had the best dishes all round (there were 7 of us). Even the fish was perfectly cooked, which seems to be a challenge for a lot of places on a busy Friday night. Service was great and a $2.50 BYO was a bonus. We will be back, on a quieter night soon !
Given that I work on William Street, Reggio is only a short walk. What's most disappointing is that we didn't come here early enough to discover their food. It is classic, quality Italian food with a serving size that can seriously fill you up! A great surprise for us, and we'll be sure to come back next time.
I really love this restaurant. This was just a 10-minute walk from my house and Sydney. And they serve really authentic pizza and risotto. One of the bests I've ever had in my entire life. The staff are really accommodating too! Good for lunch with friends and family.
Is there something wrong with me?? Bar Reggio seem to be known for their big, hearty portions, and everyone else on the table was full to the brimā¦ and then there I was, still looking around for more. But you should probably go with the majority on this one, youāll most likely leave with a happy, full stomach. And regardless, the food was tasty and depending on what you order, it can be a pretty cheap meal.
Not sure if they only take lots of 6:30pm and 8:30pm bookings, but we were part of the 8:30 slot along with a few other groups waiting outside. This place was still loud and bustling into the night.
Every dish looked great and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone for the most part. There was also a joint agreement that the vegetarian risotto was a standout.
Great place for dining. For starters we had the muscle marina rolls and garlic bread. then orderd pizzas. Marina, palmer st and Anthonys. All great tasting. Really nice place
Love this place! Friendly and fast service. The food is the best Italian comfort food - pastas and pizzas without any pretentious ingredients just plain traditional Italian ingredients. So delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant gets quite loud but it just adds to the lively vibe.
Big portions, relaxed friendly service and a good menu. A little loud on a Saturday night, if you want to have a conversation at your table you might want to sit in the outside back section. Overall it was a pleasant dinner.

Quite a popular place on the social scene with a very nicely balanced atmosphere, but that's about it for me.
The food is a little better than average at best, I feel Most people like this place because of the serving sizes which are great value for money
Definitely must have a booking, we have a wonderful dinner with very large portions. The weekends are a bit loud but a very nice casual atmosphere.
Loved it - a great place to spend a low key night with friends and byo too makes it a very cheap night. The pizzas were the standout; the bases were not too heavy and the toppings generous - the palmer street pizza was a clear winner. The canneloni was another favourite; whilst the risotto and the pasta dishes we had were good and cooked well, they didn't quite hit the flavour mark in comparison. Will definitely be back!
Everything you want from a small Italian restaurant, table service was a little bit slap dash but the food was delicious and really well priced. They also leave the Parmesan cheese on the table unlike most other restaurant. It's also BYO! You can't ask for much more!
Just found my new favourite Italian restaurant in Sydney :)
Excellent service and the pizza and pasta are SO delicious for the price. Surprised that the pasta ranges from as cheap as $14 and the servings are very large. We've been to many authentic Italian restaurants but bar Reggio is definitely the go-to when we want a relaxed atmosphere with good food.

Never ceases to amaze me how busy it gets, even early in the week. A definite sign of great food! Service, food, speed is all terrific. Only heads-up I'll give is that it gets really noisy (repeat yourself 2 or 3 times style). Didn't bother us but may bother others.
Our favourite BYO in Sydney. Food is great (marinara pizza and carbonara are amazing), service is always excellent and extremely reasonably priced.
Great service, great food, great vibe. Marinara pizza on point. The Italian salad is also so good- and great value too. Best thing is we were actually headed to a different restaurant in Darlinghurst, but walked past Bar Reggio and decided to check it out. No regrets- love this place.
I've been coming here for over 15 years. Bar Reggio is still my all time favourite Italian restaurant for a quick and easy meal. Anthony and Joe always look after me really well! Thanks guys. The pizzas are some of the best in Sydney and the Spaghetti Marinara is my all time favourite. Veal dishes are also very good. Dessert - you must try the homemade Tiramisu.
I am definitely coming back. The garlic chilli prawn pizza....no words. Love at first bite. Fantastic food and I can see why there are always queues outside. Worth the wait.
This has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney. Certainly my favourite. Amazing food, cheap prices and friendly service. A real slice of Italia in our own harbour city.
Food was good. Staff was nice and helpful but the serving speed can be improved. We waited half an hour to get the entree so you know how long It would be for mains.

Best Pizza in Sydney. Palmer St & Alcatraz are my favourite.
Traditional family pizza house in trendy suburb. The decor is a little out of place. Long wait for a table, but waitstaff were attentive and warm. Two of us ate here and especially enjoyed the Rick's pizza special, with bolognaise. They need a good Italian wine list to complement the hearty comfort food. Bill was under $ 50, a steal for inner Sydney.
My favourite place for a fillet steak w peppercorn sauce!! perfect fries. great ambience. shinny happy waiter/resses. value for money.
Best place in Sydney. This is my favourite place in Sydney. It's busy but warm and full of character. The service might be a bit slow but the food is amazing and so are the prices! The mussels are my go to meal, and the kangaroo steak is delicious.
Best Pizza in Sydney!!!. Just thinking about the pizza here is making my mouth water - this place has the best pizza in my opinion - hands down. It's wood fire oven and it's just delicious! The atmosphere is really loud however and some of my friends don't like that about the place but there really is no comparison for me in terms of their Pizza! They serve it pretty much how you would get it in Napoli !!! - Best Pizza in Sydney in my book!
Remember those local italian restaurants your parents took you to when you were a kid? Supreme pizza? Spagetti bolognese? This is it. It is cheap, BYO and fabulous. Supreme pizza with everything (including pineapple - oh yeah), Greek salad with big hunks of tomato and feta, gooey lasagna and that garlic bread that comes with the tiny little bits of chopped parsley. This place is great. Cheap, buzzing and satisfying. A bit of local gold.

Fast, busy, busy. Second time there with my Sydney family. The staff look or act or are from one extended family. All accommodating and even being busy will stop to chat.. Can not fault food, all well balance in favour and presentation to Nona standard. The decor is DIY Italian providing that authentic feel of being at a small coastal restaurant on the west coast of the boot. Always a queue out the door. Come early 5:30 pm if you do not have a reservation otherwise book in advance, like a week.
Pizza was delicious. Mains were great. Would I return? Absolutely
Its good value for money...a little loud and cramped...but good food for the price
Sydney is spoilt for choice when it comes to great restaurants, but Bar Reggio is as good as anything this great city has to offer. Fantastic authentic food, served by exceptionally friendly staff, that comes at a ridiculously cheap price, what more could you ask for....This restaurant has it all.
This place is fantastic. Great tasting fresh food with attentive staff all for a very reasonable price. We eat here every time we come to Sydney. Leaves many of the overpriced nothing on your plate restaurants for dead.
Totes amaze. The bruschetta pizza is beyond words. best ten dollars you'll ever spend.
A Classic. What can I say about this beloved neigbourhood institution? The food is scrumptious and the wait staff are lovely. Yes, it's extremely hectic and pretty noisy and you have to wait for ages if you haven't booked, but the food is worth it. My faves are the perch, pretty much all the pizzas, the marinara pasta and of course that evil garlic bread of theirs... not a place at which to start a diet!
Good but not outstanding. Reasonably priced.
Usually totally packed Saturday night which can make it extremely LOUD!
Noisy busy typically Italian restaurant. Large serves. Tasty (salt, oil, garlic). Gourmet pizzas.
Fantastic Experience!. Wow! What an experience, both environmentally and food wise. I have never seen waiter so wired into his menue and so customer focussed. I read the reviews and think this is well above the reviews. This is an authentic italian restaurant, that is a lively experience with excited chatter and lovingly prepared tastey food at amazingly cheap food. Well worth a trip especially for travellers or locals. Dont go without dessert!
Great pizza combined with a lovely atmosphere in the courtyard meant that we had a lovely evening. When the bill came I couldn't believe how incredibly cheap it was.
Went here on a Saturday night, did not need reservation but would reccommend it! Was a homey lovely restaurant, nice staff and good service, Byo wich I wished we had known! Generous servings and great price! We ordred garlic bread and a main chicken dish with chips n salad it was huge and delicious! Garlic bread and two massive mains, was $43 so they definitely deserved our tip from $50 :) saw some pizza pasta n salad go to other tables, all looked generous n delicious!
When you walk past it, it looks like nothing but the food is lovely. We had pizzas and they were quite good.
Never fails. Bar Reggio has to be one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Sydney. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and it has never disappointed. The food is traditional Italian, very tasty, generous servings, great price and prompt and friendly service. They are very busy and depending what time you arrive, you may have to line up for a while if you haven't made a booking however the wait is well worth it. The pizzas are amazing, my favourite would be the Bar Reggio - garlic prawns with a hint of chilli, all the pastas are delicious, the meat dishes are always great too. I don't have one bad word to say about this place but I can see how some people wouldn't like the atmosphere because it can get very noisy inside but they have outdoor seating too. If you want no fuss, traditional Italian food, well priced and friendly service, give this place a go, it is definitely worth it.
Winner. Great pizza, cheap too. Friendly staff and quick service
