NYC Manhattan vibes in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The interiors have an industrial-chic feel, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The menu is broad, offering classic breakfast/brunch dishes and lunch mains. Whilst the restaurant is only open M-F from breakfast to afternoon, the space is available for hire and private events in the evening. Situated in the heart of the CBD, its the ideal place for a breakfast meeting or work lunch. Plus there is take away for convenience.
I was impressed by the dishes we tried, each dish was well balanced with flavour and presented beautifully. The menu changes seasonally and supports local growers.
We tried the following dishes:
Lamb rump with curried carrots, pearl barley, crispy parsnip, roasted walnuts and smoked labneh. The lamb was succulent and juicy inside, I loved the Middle Eastern inspired flavours of this dish.
Market fish with baby fennel, cherry tomatoes, creme fraiche and salsa verde. This fish skin was super crispy, the fish was perfectly cooked inside. And impressed with the skins taken off the tomatoes.
Yellow fin tuna sashimi poke with with avocado, green papaya, sriracha mayo and macadamia. Poke bowls don’t get more colourful and healthy than this. Loved the nuts incorporated, never had macadamia in a poke bowl before.
Baby gem lettuce salad with truffle, yoghurt dressing, fresh peas and seeds.
Assorted fruit juices freshly squeezed. Definitely got our vitamins with these thirst quenching healthy juices.

Cute cafe. It was a hectic weekday morning when I visited, but the cheerful waiter didn't seem phased by the influx of customers. My French Toast was art on a plate and tasted even better.
A lovely restaurant with beautiful interiors, and the friendliest staff! The food is delicious, wine list is good enough, and I am in looove with the orecchiette lamb ragu.
Menu was different but really enjoyed my choice. Had the mushroom and grain, which had no bread but freekeh as the substitute, it was complimented with a carrot butter and dukkah. Very tasty. Coffee was good too.
This place located nearby office area, it was pretty crowded then I had my brunch here. The meals were so filling, and the french toast was tasty but too sweet for me and service was alright.
Good service and good food. Nothing too special on the lunch menu, but the food was not too bad. The chicken salad and tuna salad was well seasoned. The chicken was a little dry and didn’t have much flavor too it, but each ingredient complemented the other well.
The soft shell crab burger and beef cheeseburger was also nice.
Overall a good place for lunch, although a bit pricey for the quantity. Maybe opt for brekky and dinner.

The chilli crab linguine is amazing, wonderful tomato based sauce and a chilli kick. The lamb shoulder was tender and very well cooked, burgers were great and tasty, steak was perfectly cooked but people preferred the side french fries to the thrice cooked chips. Everybody was very happy with the food and service. Would definitely come back.
I had an early morning meeting down this way one day and so I was looking for somewhere yum, I happened upon Bowery Lane and was very happy with my choice. The coffee was decent but the food was excellent and service friendly and attentive.
A girly brunch took us to Bowery Lane located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and with really positive reviews I was pretty excited to try out the food. Hidden in what is known as 'Wintergarden' in the CBD, the entrance of Bowery Lane looks almost like a florist store-front with it's beautiful flowers, pots and rustic arrangements. Once you walk up the short flight of stairs you are welcomed to a really warm cafe. The concrete theme runs with the walls, plates, and tables, while the greenery and plants bring the outside in. They've married the inside and outside together so perfectly with the decor and furniture!
Love this place! Has a nice look to the place, had a nice playlist and ambience, and food was also amazing! Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice brunch spot in Sydney!
Classy and tasty brunch! Definitely, not the San Fran Brunch so the portion is fair enough! The place is cozy and charming.

I went there for a brunch and it was lovely. I loved the atmosphere, very nice place. I ordered Boy Scout which was really tasty and duck egg that I found a little bit spicy (the chorizo).
Hipster cafe joint in the heart of Wynyard. Cool vibe on 2 levels. Service was great and quite attentive. Food price was standard. Coffee great. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. Came out on a wooden board. Now.. I’ve been to the states quite a bit and I’ve had their Reuben sandwiches and it was off the chain! Tasted great with a lot of meat. Like a lot! So when it came out it had quite a huge amount of meat on it. I actually was surprised. It tasted nearly as good as the ones from the states. The flavour was balanced and the mustard gave a good kick. I don’t mind it at all! Not disappointed and had a great feed. What more could you ask for. Better than crap food! Worth it!
A reasonable feed, the burgers were quite nice as well as the french toast. The iced mocha was tasty and the service was nice. Sitting inside an office building, it would be the perfect spot for a business meeting or lunch

Lovely cafe located inside an office building, which made it a good spot for quick coffee/business chat, and nice brunch spot during weekend. It also could be a really good place for group events.
The coffee was good, only downside maybe they don’t serve any cold drip/cold brew coffee, they kept it simple. However, the quality of the coffee was good!
#duck egg#-truffled duck egg, chorizo, morcilla(blood sausage) crumb, pea purée, jamon with buckwheat bread. Perfectly cooked duck egg served with high quality of jamon and chorizo sausage, added sweet pea purée, such a great combination and maintain great taste too. (Just not a big fan of blood sausage...)
#upper east side#-miso cured salmon, crumbled soft egg, kale, puffed rice and rye. Loved the nice touch of miso, and pickled cauliflower added extra flavours into the salmon. If the salmon could cook less firm, would be even better. This would also a good choice for breakfast.
#crab omelette#-spanner crab omelette, sweet corn, shellfish sauce. Golden omelette was filled with sweet corn, topped with spanner crab meat. There was nothing too special about the omelette, the clear shellfish sauce had strong fishy smell, no slat added, that was pretty odd...if make the sauce little bit salty would give the omelette a nice kick.
The food we ate: New York Cheeseburger, Spanner crab Spaghettini, Chive beer battered fish, poached chicken salad and the charred broccolini.
Cocktails: Pharmaceuticals stimulant, a fancy Espresso martini, the Havan’a good time a perfect original daiquiri and the Belfort Collins for those who love the taste of Pernod (Liquorice taste)
The staff were great, very helpful with our meal choice and very attentive. She would keep us update on the progress of our meal even though the restaurant was packed.
The food was so delicious, the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection! From the burgers to the chicken to the pasta there was nothing to fault! We went for lunch and had a great time!
I had the French toast which was light and fluffy. Long black was strong, just what I needed to wake me up in the morning.
Decor was clean, chic and welcoming.

I've visited Bowery Lane a few times now and the food has never disappointed!
Roasted Pumpkin with heirloom carrots, beetroot and labneh (4/5): The creamy labneh really marries all the roasted veggies together and I love the dukkah-like sprinkles on top of the roasted pumpkins. There was a beautiful flavour, great mix of texture and overall the dish was so enjoyable. A great main for a vegetarian! Although I wouldn't have been full if it wasn't for the side of broccolini we ordered so I just wish there was a bigger serving of pumpkin. Perhaps the particular crescents I received were smaller than usual.
My friends ordered the scallops to start (they absolutely licked the plate clean and were gobsmacked by how good it was) so it's highly recommended.
The broccolini (4.5/5) was in a beautiful nutty and curry-like cashew sauce dotted with creme fraiche which I absolutely loved. I was scraping the dish to finish that amazing cashew sauce!!
My friends also ordered the steak, beef brisket and crab spaghettini. Everyone was silent at the table as we dug into our meals because we were just enthralled with our dishes. Two big thumbs up all around!
As for the dessert, I definitely recommend the Granny Smith mousse (4/5): Its slightly fruity and refreshing, not too sweet and on a biscuit base but swimming in a beautiful sauce - it's very delightful on the palette!
The mango coconut cake (3/5): This dessert looked prettier than it tasted unfortunately. The mango flavour was lost on me... the shredded coconut base was a nice touch but the dish was definitely missing something. It was served with some dark chocolate ice cream but that didn't really add to the list. I wouldn't really order this dessert again.
Had brunch here on a Sunday morning and order the Boy Scout - mushrooms, kale and poached eggs on toast. The venue was lovely and staff attentive, maybe book ahead as it was full when we came but staff was able to find us a table given we were out in 40 minutes.
Great location for having a birthday gathering or just a casual drinks night with friends! They have a variety of mixed drinks you can chose from and some pretty solid food here. I would recommend getting the lamb shoulder.
I enjoyed this light and airy restaurant just near the Radisson blu in O'Connell street, the $29 steak frites and wine special was tempting, however I went for scallops, brocollini and sparkling water $46. Delicious scallops and a beautiful tangy lemon dressing with dukka and pistachio on the broccolini.
Found my new local in Sydney CBD! Just love that I can eat healthy while on business trips. Thanks for the great meal, excellent service and delicious take away smoothie!
This place is perfect for catching up with friends, dining alone, or even intimate date nights. Came here with a handful of people and tried their standard banquet menu. All the dishes were exemplary, top mentions to the torched scallops and la stella burrata for entree, charred cauliflower and spanner crab spaghettini for main. It includes some sides of salad and chips. Overall $62 is not too bad for a food for share 9-course degustation. For dessert, the blueberry and almonds is not too bad too. Would definitely come back to try their brekky/lunch menu which ive heard got good reviews too.
So, a lunch with some folks on our building’s body corporate; this is one of the favourite restaurants of one of them. At lunch, in the city, it has the feel of a business lunch; you’d want to have a bit of time here, rather than catch a quick bite, and it has a formal feel about it. Two of us had a salad with chicken, and two of us (including me) had a salad with haloumi. As you can see at the top of the post, it’s a pretty dish, with quinoa and radish, beets, pumpkin seeds and some greens. It was lacking something though; the dressing was really light and something to tie all this together was missing for me (and I tried putting more salt on it too). The haloumi was perfectly grilled and tasty, but overall, it tasted… healthy.

Bowery Lane is an all day Modern Australian restaurant in the Sydney CBD that does breakfast, lunch and dinner which makes it the perfect place for a lazy weekend brunch, a quick work day lunch, or a nice dinner out with friends. We have been here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner and will share with you our experiences.
Been here a couple of times. The place does its job well and won't disappoint, try a large main to share and pad it out with all the trimmings
Absolutely fantastic. Went in for a quick breakfast and was blown away by the service, the standard of the food and coffee. Ordered the Lower East Side which was just incredible. I was certainly not expecting something so delicious.
I love having moments where good food makes me smile. This was one of those moments.
Highly recommend this place to anyone in Sydney. Super friendly service and excellent food, there was hardly a wait time for the food (though I did go on a week day).
Been there three times by far, one for dinner twice for lunch. To be honest, no 'wow' factors for me, looks like a usual brunch place. Burger dishes there are quite good values at its costs however, again, not much surprise. Location wise it is parking friendly 👍🏼
Great place to grab breakfast if your in the cbd. So far I have tried the bit scout, Bowery beni and smashed av- all of which were delicious. Look forward to trying the rest of the menu when I get the chance:)

Our go to dish is always the Boy Scouts and Lower East Side.
Lot's of suits in the morning, but it's the perfect place to sit in, have a longer brekky & start the morning just right!
Definitely try their fresh juices - they will certainly get your taste buds working, no matter how early ;)
Fave place on CBD! Make me remember all the great places that I have been in NYC. We had a brunch there and it was amazing. Delicious food!!!!!! Can't wait to be back.

Just another day brunching with friends. This time, we found our hang at Bowery Lane in Sydney CBD. If you're longing for the buzz of New York City, this place has got the NY vibes. I'm loving the rustic interior with exposed bricks and timber.
We started off our Sunday with four fresh juices and smoothies. You have to try the Green Power Juice and The Cleanser.
For the weekend brunch, we had to try Boy Scout and Smashed Avocado. The breakfast dish, Boy Scout is filled with goodness of poached eggs, field mushrooms and sauteed kale, sprinkled with paprika crumb. Just divine.
Smashed Avocado was especially yummy with quinoa and persian feta, served on sourdough bread.
The boys particularly love Bowery Lane's Black Onyx Scotch Fillet, they wiped the dish clean! Perfectly cooked, medium rare steak served with potatoes. Simply soft and tender, it is simply to-die-for!

Quality lunching happening right here. Classy enough for a business lunch, but casual enough for a catch up. Bowery Lane have done well, hitting the market with an offering that has something for everyone. The menu is diverse and has plenty of choice. I had the market fish with quinoa and puffed seed (approx 30), a delicious compliment of flavour and texture. My mate stuck to the trusty New York cheeseburger (21), and we also picked up some quality sides of roast brussels with lentils and olive oil (10) and roast pumpkin with beautiful little curls of labneh and pomegranate (10) that were almost meals in themselves. If you don't have the time to sit down, there's even a takeaway counter on the side. Something for everyone.
All I can say: Yum! The food and drinks were delicious. Service was great. Ambient music perfect. We came directly from the airport and were able to have a delicious breakfast. What a great start to our holiday!

Not easy to spot from the street despite the floor space these guys have, it's worth looking for. A Manhattan inspired industrial, warehouse style space with high ceilings, open bulbs and clean cut decor mixes dark, cosy tones with hints of a bright Scandinavian touch without losing it's relaxed charm. The opposing side in 1 O'Connell's interior offers bright airy space under high white walls to wake you up at a midweek breakfast appointment. Bowery's focus on local produce comes through in the flavours and style of their menu. It isn't excessive but covers all bases whether you're looking for a big hangover cure or a few bites over a business chat. We went for the ever Australian smashed avo; pomegranate molasses, quinoa, heirloom tomato and persian fetta giving a regular dish a different edge. The Spanish Harlem with labneh and harissa gave the eggs and roast pumpkin a spicy flavour that will kick start your morning. Last at our table, an amazing version of Eggs Beni with leeks and asparagus puts a stamp on a traditional favourite. The Cleanser juice will give you some pep for the morning, as will the Green Power juice. If you're up for something a little more indulgent, give the Hershey's Cookies and Cream or Reece's Peanut Butter Cup milkshake a whirl.

Birthday celebrations with some of the extended family are the best! Exploring new places in Sydney, and when you have more people, that means you can order more as well, hehe. Bowery Lane is ' inspired by industrial-era New York, plating upscale Modern Australian cuisine.'. The restaurant filled up very quickly from 6.30 to 7.30pm. Food came out relatively quick. We opted to share a few dishes. Service was attentive initially but towards the night when it got quite busy even on a Wednesday night, it was hard to catch their attention.
So long has this restaurant been on my to go list and it was so exciting to finally have a reservation there. I had heard so many good things about their breakfasts and brunches but I had the pleasure of tasting their dinner menu. It was a tiny bit of a challenge to find the entrance, even though the shopfront was obviously visible from the street. There was a long table great for big groups, small booths for cute dates and bar seating for casual eaters and drinkers. The restaurant was dimly lit and very sophisticated.

Bowery Lane is in the CBD at the circular quay and is great place for a catch up with friend or a date and you can go breakfast, lunch or dinner. Not easy to initially spot, you'd have to be intending to go there. I had seen some yummy pictures on instagram so booked to go with my friends for dinner. As you walk in, it has a trendy vibe, cleanly styled in black, wood and concrete with plants hanging on the walls. It was quite busy and the restaurant did very well considering the amount of people there. The menu is designed with snacks, entrees, mains and desserts S well as plates to share or banquets. The food could be described as modern Australian. We got some cheese croquettes to share - these were delicious. Then an entree each - the scallops (well cooked and beautifully presented), as well as the beef tartare. This was nicely flavoured with yolk and gherkin and two crackers on the side. For a main we got the ragu orichette with a mint and pea sauce atop. It was very tasty. We also got the fish of the day which was the salmon, also very good. You do need sides though with you main if you don't get entrees. Higher price bracket so this place is for special occasions but all the food is very good and nicely presented. The waitress was sweet and unobtrusive. Manager wasn't overly friendly but effective at her job.
No better way to be rewarded after a running festival than a good brunch! We managed to get into Bowery Lane just before the crowds. A friend and myself shared the upper east side and the scouts breakfast. Both were good but the winner was the scouts breakfast with a very rewarding and flavourful prosciutto mix, crispy potatoes and mushrooms. The poached egg sitting on top was cooked to perfection. The upper east side was a good healthy feed as well with salmon, avocado and kale but it was more common. All dishes were well executed and there were happy bellies all across the table.

Bowery Lane's new weekend trading hours means it's now possible to enjoy a decent brunch in the CBD outside of Mon to Fri. I returned twice over a couple of weeks and enjoyed both meals. The East Village was a vegetarian's delight: a piece of grilled sourdough, a layer of ricotta and a blanket of mushrooms with robust flavours of tarragon lemon. Two poached eggs completed the dish. Would've preferred a little less oil but still a good dish. The Upper East Side was also enjoyable with slices of smoked salmon to go with rye toast, a small kale & avocado salad and poached eggs. If you're after something sweet, don't go past the waffles. They were crisp and delicious, especially with the maple cream. My friend added bacon on the side too (to balance out the sugar rush, she claims!) I thought the coffee was solid as well, smooth and easy to drink. On my second visit, our bill was delivered to our table as soon as our plates were cleared. My friend hadn't even finished her drink! When we asked why the urgency given the numerous empty tables around, we were told that it was reserved for the next sitting. It would be better of they'd let us know when they gave us the bill instead of making us feel like we were being chased out (which we were but there's always a nicer way of doing it without making customers feel like they're an imposition). So not stellar service but nothing major. Prices are on the higher end but not outrageous for the location especially.
This was cool spot for breakfast. Great atmosphere, busy, delicious food and modern decor.
I ordered Scouts breakfast and my wife ordered the west end waffles. We thoroughly enjoyed both our plates but the waffles were by far the best. This is a sweet meal but not overly sweet, leaving you wanting water. The honey comb makes the dish.

The friendly guy staff really impressed me, when we asked him some recommendations, he's pretty blunt, saying burger is very good, but still burger, Lol. The dessert is amazing
I came here for breakfast on a Saturday and was relieved to get a table straight away. Service was friendly and the decor was great. They brought out the wrong dish for my partner and took a while to bring the right one. The food was good and there were a lot of options to suit all tastes
Finding a good brunch spot in the Sydney CBD on the weekend can be a bit of a struggle with cafes generally closing up shop. Bowery Lane has come to the rescue with all-day breakfast now available from 8am on Saturdays and Sundays. Continuing on a food philosophy that champions local and seasonal ingredients, the brunch menu at Bowery Lane delivers wholesome breakfast dishes.
I did a real basic thing on the weekend… I brunched. After doing it though, I wonder why I didn’t do it any time sooner because you get the best of both worlds at this magical hour – Breakfast AND Lunch options. You could say I felt like Blair and Serena from (xoxo) *whispers* Gossip Girl. To make things even better, it was at one restaurant that I am so very fond of – Bowery Lane.
Service is especially friendly and accommodating. Coffee is pretty good, my mocha was very sweet (but I like it that way).
Food was good overall. The lamb shoulder pasta had generous amounts of sauce, lamb and goats cheese and was very filling. The burger was good but our bun was burnt quite badly in places which was disappointing. The chips were also on the cold side.
I tried their dinner menu and find it quite all right. However their famous soft shell crab burger was a bit too oily for me. I enjoyed the other dish though. A friend of mine tell me that their brunch menu is better than dinner. Maybe I'll go there for breakfast some other time!
Bowery Lane is a New York inspired restaurant serving up modern Australian dishes. My friend AF is keen to check it out.My friend AF and I head into Bowery Lane which is a cosy but modern restaurant. It's buzzing full of people as I arrive at 6pm on a Friday night. I think AF has had a long week as he already downs a beer before I get there.
Awesome breakfast. Absolutely delicious. Hot fresh and quick. Service was impecible. Coffee was really good. Much better than anywhere else we have tried in Sydney.
Really enjoyed Bowery Lane. We went on a Monday night when they have the Burger special, which I'd highly recommend. For $20 or $25 (depending on the burger) you can get a burger and beer, wine or soft drink. I had the soft shell crab burger which was delicious, one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately it didn't come with chips, whereas the chicken burger did. This was a bit disappointing as the waitress had implied that all burgers came with chips. The place itself is very cozy at night with dark lighting. The couple booths are very private and comfortable and feel very out of the way. It was fairly quiet so we didn't have to wait long. We also had coffees after which were okay. It was nice not to be rushed out of the restaurant and to take our time, although I can see how it could be quite busy. Best to book in advance just in case.
A great spot for brunch (and also dinner). I've been meaning to try the breakfast here for years but they were never open on a weekend (now they are). The Hudson was a light and tasty dish and the cucumbers were perfect
What an exciting place to be! Tonight was my first night at Bowery lane and I can see it quickly becoming my new hangout spot. The food was delicious, the service efficient and staff friendly. The staff were more than happy to charge my phone for me which was at 1%. I can't tell you what a relief it was. I have been to so many places where the staff won't do it.
One thing about the food. I was not a big fan of the polenta chips, but the steak was perfect in its medium state and the jus accompanying it was a lovely accompaniment.
Edit: went back on 24 July. The crab burger was absolutely delicious.

The venue is visually appealing and it's hard to imagine many young people who wouldn't want to come for the perfect Instagram shot of their food. But you can only do that when you're sitted in the perfect spot with good lighting so i would recommend you book a table first, if not you'll be place dark area like i was. I ordered the Ora King Salmon from their lunch menu and i found it a bit too heavily salted and slightly oily. However combined with creamy remoulade it was perfectly balanced and even though i was very satisfied with my meal, $29 was a bit much for a fillet of fish and some celeriac. My friend ordered the Tempura Soft Shell Crab Burger as the waitress recommended and truthfully it did sound very scrumptious on the menu. But when the burger came out, it was huge! My friend didn't mind the large amount of crab but the coleslaw was a bit excessive, which made it impossible to eat. This led to my friend resorting to deconstructing her burger with a knife and fork, and it was very messy to eat. She said the flavours were very good but again slightly too salty.
Would definitely come back!
Terrific place for lunch in the CBD. We both had the reuben sandwich on rye with sweet potato chips and it was delicious. Big serve and plenty of flavour. I think I'd have preferred sweet potato fries rather than crispy chips just because it made the meal a little heavy. But this didn't stop me from eating them all, the were delicious!
Service was quick and friendly and staff were great and very helpful in heating up my little person's lunch for me! Also appreciated being able to split the bill and our food and bill came nice and quick which is exactly what you want during the lunch time rush.
Great spot, away from the hustle and bustle of The Wintergarden! Gives you a bit of breathing room too! Highly recommended!

Quick breakdown of the dishes we ordered on the night:
- Natural oysters: yas! Super fresh though vinaigrette could've been a tad stronger.
- Tempura oysters: lost the seafood flavour through the batter. Ended up tasting like normal takoyaki balls.
- Seared scallops: I love scallops so I enjoyed this dish but I don't think it was anything special.
- Fried pickles: my friends loved it because they have a thing for pickles and whilst I also usually enjoy pickle, I found this dish to be quite lacklustre.
- Roast pumpkin salad: yummy salad, needed a bit more flavour though. Perhaps salt or some acidity.
- Chicken souvlaki skewers: overhyped! So disappointing that this dish was what it turned out to be. We were expecting something epic!
- Shark Bay crab casarecce: my favourite dish of the night. Flavours were balanced and there were some good little chunks of crab meat in there.
- Strawberry pavlova: highly recommend! This dish could be lifted with an addition of a sour element to it, maybe a raspberry sorbet or something.
Service here is excellent/10. There was a mix up with our oysters and it got sorted out with very little hassle at all. Wait staff were great and I would come back here just for the service alone. Definitely check this place out.

I had the East Village. General a nice breakfast however one of the poached egg was hard yoked and the other on the cusp, which detracted from the enjoyment.
Place looks like it gets busy fast and often, judging by the number of early arrivals. You can book for breakfast too so that may be wise if you are particularly keen.
We walked in on a Saturday night around 7pm. Fortunately we were able to get a seat straight away. As we were eating, the place was getting filled! Now, I've heard a lot of great things about this place and I was so excited. Service was great and the food came out really quick. The fried pickles were something different and it was alright I guess. The pickle was really warm and there was a lot of salt on top so it just tastes like a warm salty crunchy pickle. That was the only downside of the meal. Everything else was lovely, I loved the lamb ragu and my boyfriend's crab dish was delicious as well. We both were so stuffed but I had to get dessert! Anything that has the word pavlova and I will order it! My boyfriend kept saying he was full and would only have one bite but he ended up eating a lot of it! It will be a place that I would love to come back to again. I want to try everything on the menu!
Like the layout and the decor. They got bar downstairs and dining section upstairs. A comfortable place for dining. Food are very nice too. Will come back for breakfast next time!
Not bad and price reasonable for city
The wagyu short rib was cooked very well but there wasn't much taste in the inside part of the meat. Very tender and meat breaks off very easily showing but very little taste
Lamb was ok, nth spectacular and once again not much taste in the meat, relied heavily on the dipping sauce
Fried chicken was best part of the meal imo and spicy jalapeño sauce. Definitely recommend the fried chicken. Juicy and amazing

Amazing! I'd been wanting to try Bowery Lane for a long while and was finally able to.
I got my usual double shot skim flat white and wow it was delicious coffee. Service completely friendly and attentive. I was super hungry and really wanted East Village breakfast (sourdough with ricotta, poached eggs, preserved lemon and tarragon mushrooms) but the fatty in me was worried it wasn't enough food haha I needn't have worried it was a large portion and so delicious! What a flavour combination.. The creaminess of the ricotta against the mushrooms wow.. Anyhow loved every minute of it :)
Great ambience, great customer service. Tried the Softshell crab tempura burger and it just alright. The coleslaw wasn't seasoned enough and the soft shell crab tempura was somehow really oily. Might be just my bad luck though. Oh, we also ordered the Braised Wagyu Short Rib and it was the bomb.
Would come back again, but maybe not for the burgers.

Due to life interfering with its pesky plans, I hadn't seen AG in quite some time and so we decided to change this by catching up over dinner one night after work at Bowery Lane.
We were wedged into a small hole in the wall table, which was a bit squishy. Service was efficient and our orders were quickly taken.
Usually I don't drink on worknights but AG was being a bad influence and encouraged me to order a cocktail so I went with Bowery Lane's take on the classic espresso martini. The use of cold drip coffee rather than an espresso shot meant that the martini was less creamy than usual. The vodka was quite strong and competed with the coffee taste.
For dinner, I opted for the kingfish. It was decent but to be honest, I think fish tastes more or less the same regardless of restaurant, as long as it is cooked well. The side elements were subtle enough that they didn't detract from the fish but added some much needed greens. I only wish there was more haloumi because there is no such thing as too much haloumi.
AG had been having a burger craving so ordered the cheeseburger. In his words, "this is one of the best burgers I have had" so take what you will from that.
That wagyu burger and soft shell crab tempura burger was taste ok, i just wish they can put more seasoning on it. But anyway, this burgers are great

I made a booking a week in advance for a Friday night birthday dinner with friends. The restaurant interior can be described as casual sophistication and it's comfortable. One thing that stood out to me was the service. I found the wait staff friendly, attentive and efficient. :)
We ordered a selection of different food items including scallops, NY cheeseburger, pasta, kingfish, fried pickles and baby cos lettuce. The food came quite quickly, it was yummy and I was quite satisfied. :) I feel the menu could have a larger mains selection. There are mains for sharing but I would be excited to see a bigger selection of single mains. We also sampled a few cocktails but unfortunately while they all tasted fine, they weren't standouts in my opinion - probably personal taste though. Actually I think the cocktails are a little pricey. After dinner, I wanted to order dessert too but there were only 3 choices and one of them was unavailable (there was a replacement item though).
We spent about $55 each which at first may seem a bit pricey, however if I consider everything as a whole, especially service, I think it was worth the extra penny. I considered scoring 3.5 but decided on a 4 because the service I got earned them extra points in my book! :) Overall, I did enjoy my dinner there very much and would return. I definitely want to try their breakfast menu!!
Bowery Lane helps fill the niche between food court and upscale restaurant. The menu is small but well chosen and the surroundings are a sophisticated take on comfortable. They also have a small take out counter offering some enticing meats, vegies and salads. My chicken burger was good with great elements - particularly the crispy fried chicken, which was cooked perfectly. The coffee was also good. If you're looking for somewhere in the city for lunch with a friend, you could definitely do worse.

No doubts , this is one the of the best cafes/restaurants in Sydney CBD by far (Dec 21). The interior looks like a fine dining restaurant, great ambient. Our latte are lovely, nice and smooth.
The waiting staff (a lovely gentleman) works his hardest to look after us. However, our breakfast is a bit letdown. Our toasts are quite burnt. I look at customers next to us (the other 2 tables) and they get same burnt toasts as well so I guess it might be the chef’s preference.
All in all, great place , great service, good coffee and great vibe. Highly recommended 👍
We had a group lunch here. It was pretty good. As usual, I forgot to take photos. We had a set menu and the items were pretty good.
It is costly, as there wasn’t a great deal of room to swing a cat. The starters were okay, salads were the typical new age weedy things you get these days. The beef brisket was pretty good. The lamb was alright, but wasn’t as fall off the bone as one would have hoped from the shoulder.
Dessert was pretty good. Although my chocolate parfait did sorta taste like cheesecake consistency. Not that I’m complaining as it still tasted good.
Table service was very good. The wait staff were attentive without pestering.
I’d thoroughly consider coming back again.
But it was pretty pricey.

A girly brunch took us to Bowery Lane located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and with really positive reviews I was pretty excited to try out the food. Hidden in what is known as 'Wintergarden' in the CBD, the entrance of Bowery Lane looks almost like a florist store-front with it's beautiful flowers, pots and rustic arrangements. Once you walk up the short flight of stairs you are welcomed to a really warm cafe. The concrete theme runs with the walls, plates, and tables, while the greenery and plants bring the outside in. They've married the inside and outside together so perfectly with the decor and furniture!

Located on 1 O'connell Street Sydney, is this wonderful establishment that offers great food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend this place for lunch. They are open for breakfast & lunch only. Make sure you book a table.
Tucked away in this building this restaurant is filled with surprisingly excellent food - with a slightly modern industrial vibe. The red wine butter was superb and the steak was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the scallops starter. Really worth stopping by if you're after an excellent lunch - or to impress someone with a clever restaurant find.
This place is excellent... the food, the service, the ambiance. I have come here quite a few times for breakfast and a couple of times for dinner... it never disappoints! The smashed avocado was the best in Sydney... seriously... but last time we went it was off the menu so that was disappointing, but everything I have eaten has been excellent! I also love the quirky theme nights... and the way it looks, the staff are enjoying themselves!!! Seriously awesome!
