During the long weekend celebrating the Queen’s birthday, we were lucky to be seated in this busy restaurant. We opted for the Vivid Banquet Menu which offered steamed half shell scallop for appetizer, Beef in Sze Chuan sauce, king prawns, satay chicken, mixed vegetables and steamed rice. We also added some noodles and all of these dishes were prepared fresh, served hot and each plate was savoury to the last bite! My personal favourite would be the satay chicken. This was set for four people but their serving can actually feed six. Highly recommended!
We went last night and I can’t understand why the rating is only 3.4, we’ve eaten here many times and never been disappointed. It is excellent contemporary Chinese. Recommended.
Really delicious Chinese restaurant in circular quay. Not especially fancy, but tasty food. We tried honey prawns (proper big prawns), san choy bow, spring rolls, mongolian lamb, fried rice and more. Staff were extremely nice and efficient. Its a bit expensive, but you've got to expect that in the rocks.
Great food but quite expensive. Staff very friebdly but tend to be a bit too attentive which can freak you out a bit
! Definitely one to try when in sydney
The East duck meal is awesome. Every time I go to Sydney and stay at the Marriott this is my go to place and meal. Even though I eat on my own. Love the meal.
Kangaroo fillet with chili sauce and basil is amazing and a must try. Though it is not as spicy as it sounds. Nice ambience....seating outside next to the doc is a good one, on a nice weather day.
Above average Chinese food - the kangaroo with basil and chilli was especially good - but high prices. I guess it's to be expected given the location, you do get a great view of the bridge along with your lunch.
All your fav Canto fare are here: short soup, Mongolian lamb, salt and pepper squid, beef in black bean sauce as well as live seafood if you want to go more fancy. But the main course is really the mouthwatering view of the Harbour and that world famous coat hanger. And you pay for it, Mongolian lamb with the Harbour Bridge will set you back $28.80; honey chicken is $26.80.
Amazing meal with an amazing view. Everything my husband and I ate was delicious - crabmeat & corn soup, duck steamed dumplings, sweet & sour pork, satay chicken! Our waiter was great and very attentive too. This is the nicest Chinese food I've had in Sydney!
A view to kill for and a menu to die for!!. Don't be fooled by the address being Macquarie Street. This little beauty is on Circular Quay and provides spectacular views of the wharves, the ferry traffic, parts of The Rocks, and those big cruise liners - from anywhere be it outdoor or inside. This is true Chinese cuisine and exceptional Chinese service. The menu is great and the atmosphere is terrific. Not a total cheapie but then if you want a true Chinese experience this is the place. In the right atmosphere, the outdoor seating lets you enjoy the buzz of the Harbor and the throng that passes top and from the Opera House. Try it and see for yourself!
Fantastic food. Mandarin du.... Fantastic food.
Mandarin duck was the best duck I've had, my partner had Singapore noodles & he said they were awesome.
Great food service and location. Def worth a visit
Finest Peking duck pancakes known to all of mankind. Splendiferous. Soft, succulent, salty yet smokey sweet. (Alliteration, and hyperbole gone feral). Rainbow beef (masquerading, really Szechuan beef) and honey king prawns both delish, ably accompanied by fine bubbles. And a view of angels. Great service. A must do, in an otherwise barren/cliched tourist haunt.
A beautiful location and a solid menu with a well thought out wine list. Considering its location the prices were reasonable and each dish was up to a reasonably decent standard. I would happily return. 7.7 out of 9.13
Fresh ingredients with a Harbour Bridge view. A little pricey but very good. Good to have Chinese interpretations of Kangaroo & Croc.
Fantastic Chinese, very good quality. Full of tourists & Mosmanites having a pre-theatre meal. Strange combination and the ambience is strange being geared for passing trade but the food is terrific. Not cheap but.
Spectacular views. Place was not too busy. We just wanted a quick meal with a front, outside table to watch the beautiful view that they have. We ordered fried rice and salt & pepper squid. The meal was quite good but think it would have been better to share with 4 people and some other dishes to break up the flavours a bit. Service was great. Not cheap but premium position viewing the harbour. Fantastic spot.
Authentic delicious Cantonese food. This restaurant has been around for ages & have always wanted to check it out when visiting the Opera House. Finally tried it the other night and was surprised at how delicious the food was. Of the old school variety of Chinese cuisine - everything was fresh & spot on in terms of taste. Serving portions were generous and service was prompt, friendly and professional. The wine menu was also pretty decent. 4 of us dined & the price point was also good. Dining outdoors whilst nice - can be annoying due to the birds. Definitely will be back & the perfect venue before an Opera House concert.
Classical Cantonese style cooking at its best with quality Australian seafood and ingredients.
Best views and best services…what more do you want ?
We”ve been to this restaurant several times over the last few months. The quality is consistent . The servings are generous. We will be back for sure !
Went there for lunch, well organised place, wide range in menu. Had a few of the signature dishes eg roast duck in plum sauce skin very crunchy , quail was amazing with skin lightly salted, Ma po tau fu which was average and the Supreme vegetable which had mushrooms and Chinese spinach in it, yummy. Overall a nice for lunch, views near Opera House. Ambience and service above average, will come again
Excellent food with excellent views. Whilst it has been at Circular Quay for ages we have only managed to go there now. Will definitely come again!
Authentic Chinese restaurant at Circular Quay. Food is tasty and affordable. The lobster and squid dishes we ordered were very fresh. The chocolate and fortune cookies after the meal made the experience awesome.
Easy access to the Opera House in case you want to plan your trip around this marvellous sight.
Delicious food and drinks at a great location, over looking the Harbour Bridge. Great customer service. Will definitely revisit.
Quieter, nice menu with lots choice of everything. Large servings cooked to perfection. Very courteous helpful staff!
