Lovely old pub. Friendly staff and a great range of beers. Food is ok priced but fairly ordinary 'pub' food. You could make a good night here with a few mates and some exaggerated stories.
Found myself craving a beef wellington and was happy to find it here. Could have done with some more veggies but the meat was great. The fish and chips is a joke tho, more like fries with fish fingers! Thought this was a kids meal portion with an adult meal price. Friendly staff but the food portion

Beautiful historical building in the heart of Sydney.
Staff were alot friendlier to the clientele that were not in work clothes, like myself and some other patrons. I have noticed this more than once.
We attended the Hero of Waterloo on Saturday 21st May 2022, when we arrived there was a small band playing rock/blues/jazz and the atmosphere was great. We sat down had a few drinks and then ordered a meal.
