Review Searock Grill - Sydney

George Azmy
The place is located in a premium location. Staff and service are are spot on, very friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The menu is not overwhelming which is great in my opinion. We had garlic bread and halomy for starters both great except I hate when I get the back or start of the bread loaf but it's okay. We had the grilled barramundi, was very nice, I would've prefer if it had a lemon on the side. Drinks are good, and it's very reasonably priced

Started with the garlic prawns, which were great. We had the baked salmon and the New York steak (rare). Both were delicious. Service was great too. Plus a great view of the harbour! It’s on the expensive side if you’re travelling from the suburbs, but that’s what dining in circular quay is like 🤷‍♂️

Located on Opera Quays this restaurant has stunning views of the amazing Sydney Harbour. Inside or outside options of dining although if sitting outside - be careful of the annoying seagulls who will flap right in and take your food off your plate. The food was delicious and fresh and the service was fantastic. Great menu of seafood or grilled meat.

Partner and I went here for Valentines Day Dinner - service was a little slow. Took a little while for the staff to get our orders. Food was nice (recommend the Moreton Bay Bugs & Oysters), though the price is way too overpriced for the serving size. Also, the mains which we ordered, in particular, the Scotch Fillet didn’t even have a choice of sides. It was disappointing to have to pay extra for a side of chips!!!!

We arrived late into Sydney due to flight delays and we were famished. We headed over to Circular Quay Eastbank. We were lucky to get a table underneath the umbrellas overlooking the harbour, ferries and the Harbour bridge. We had the happy hour limited drinks menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the lychee margarita!!! 3 times enjoyed it !!! We ordered fresh oysters which were a little smaller than expected, all but one were delicious. We also enjoyed fresh prawns and grilled barramundi, both were delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant. The manager Michael was engaging and helpful. Seagulls were a small issue but not for us. We also got to watch the most amazing sunset.

Excellent location but disappointing experience. Firstly trying to make a reservation. We were walking past and asked a staff member to book a table... We were hurriedly given a business card and told to call a number despite being at the venue. On arrival we were greeted by a strange man who told us off for being at the wrong entrance to the outside dining area. We were then led to a 4 person table despite being a party of 2 and were never asked who our reservation was under. Our waiter was friendly. Took our order promptly but within 5 minutes our steak arrived. Before our drinks. We didn't come to this restaurant which has amazing views of the harbour only to be rushed through and eaten within 10 minutes. Our main meal arrived well before our drinks and we had to ask if our drinks were even coming. $50 for steak with no chips. It was an additional $9 a small bowl of chips. 2 stars only because the steak was well cooked and service was friendly, despite being an overall bad experience.

I was expecting better service but was a bit disappointed. Table water wasn't offered. The sauce for my chips was missing while others got it. Heaters on our side weren't working. The steak was just average. The sauce was too creamy. I would recommend the pork ribs and the chips tho. Beautiful location right next to the water.

Went on vivid weeks! Great service and atmosphere, price is reasonable but food was okay, the stake was cooked perfectly but a bit bitter with skin, I assumed that the grill stove might burnt and make the meat taste bitter.

Had lunch there previously and found it quite nice. Food was great and well priced. Had dinner there and found the price was doubled and food quality not the best. Fish was dry and very salty. Salt and pepper calamari was covered in chili’s and too spicy to enjoy. My advice, go for lunch, skip dinner.

Saturday night dining was spectacular. Our Slovakian waiter Marek was very friendly and welcoming. He organised table for us right away with harbour bridge views without reservation. Not saying we had most delicious food, me and my friend ordered Eye Fillet steak which was cooked to perfection! As desert I highly recommend the tart. BIG Thank YOU to kitchen crew: chef Milo, Dino and best deserts lady chef Lin.. Lovely experience

What I got to eat of the dish, before being attacked by seagulls eating off my plate, was okay. The waiter was more concerned about cleaning up the broken glass (knocked over by the seagull) then helping me clean ketchup from my coat, purse and clothes. Told the hostess and she yelled at me saying I should have eaten inside. Terrible response.

Food was very nice take either way the portions are small or the price too high We had to order a third dish just to fill us up $10 for a local beer is just Ridiculous Then went to pay eft she turns the machine to me and it at the TIP screen expecting me to add to the all ready $110 bill,Passed that entered the pin then came the filthiest look 👀 Service was for most very good I can’t see why we should be expected to tip when the actual cost of the food served wouldn’t have cost more than $30 If the owners are paying the staff the correct wages but I suspect that like most restaurants use visa students and pay 💰 cash well under the correct wage Very SAD 😞 as I will not be dining here again
Karin Aitchison
Nice food, great view, even in the rain and with pesky seagulls. All great until we went to pay and the waiter asked for a tip !!!! If we had intended to tip (and it's not usual practice in Aussie) that def. put us off

Food is pretty good, especially the kangaroo. The wine list is small, but all high grade wines. The service is a tad shabby..mostly the senior staff who were almost indifferent. The junior waiters were very untrained & without expertise. Management need to step up their training for all staff, except the Chef. He knows his stuff.
Michael Cuthbert-Lang
Wow the Eye Fillet was by far the best I have tasted .... the Mai Tai was just as good .. Boom this place was a great experience for us with majectical views of the harbour ... Could not fault my experience!
Susan Young
Had the best cooked calamari ever. The service was fantastic and rest of the meal was delicious also. Would recomend a meal there to anyone

The views of Sydney’s best: Opera House & Harbour Bridge. Plus just sitting outside on the promenade, people watching, fresh sea-breeze & just taking in the sites. Finally, the service and food are excellent. We were both in a hurry & settled for the quick Thai Chicken Curry: good serving & delicious. The steaks looked very good too.

After a long sunny walk from Royal Botanical Gardens to Sydney Opera House crashed to Searock Grill for a quick late lunch that satisfied my growling tummy All worth to try their burger, fish and chips and chicken curry!
Claudia Robino
Can’t fault the service or the food. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable. The fish and chips delish, the brûlée was out of this world as were my frudnd’s Kangaroo and mango dessert....

Where to start.... After a busy day walking over 10kms looking at different sites, we were looking for somewhere that could cater to our dietary needs around the Quay. A steak and Seafood place seemed to fit the bill. I could see from the menu that they had GF options for my husband and that they had a kids menu. The guy that told me that was fabulous and friendly. It was the first and last time I saw him. We got there Just after 5pm. We were seated quickly, then NO ONE came near us for over 40 minutes! Not even to take a drinks order! My kids were dying of thirst so I got up and went to the bar to get a jug of iced water. The girl then brings us a glass each of warm tap water.... Not a slither of ice in sight..... So I go back to the bar and reiterate, that we would like a JUG of water with ICE in it...... Ridiculously small trendy jug, I was constantly getting up to get it refilled. It seemed like such an imposition to them..... ppfftt, gave up on waiting or expecting them to either refill it or get us another one when we needed it... after an hour and a half, they FINALLY take our order! (We were all to tired to be bothered walking out! I had asked to be seated inside, as I did not want my kids (2 of them ASD) to have to contend with the seagulls, plus it was still rather warm outside and we had been in the sun all day.) I was disappointed with the menu, not having sides come included with mains. I ordered one little sad piece of rib eye. I could not justify paying another almost $10 to have a few chips or a salad to go with it! The steak was already over $45 itself including their weekend surcharge! I finally get my piece of precious steak, which I had asked for it to be medium cooked..... it came out to me blue. I took a photo of it and sent it a friend, he likes his steak blue, he agreed.... I was starving by the time our food arrived, and my husband does not like it when I say something about what we were served, so for that time, I kept quiet. Plus the kids would not have waited another hour for me to get another piece of steak.... There seemed to be plenty of wait staff, running around, but nothing seemed to be organised at all. I had no idea who was specifically suppose to be waiting on us at all. When we were ready to leave, I could not see or grab anyone to get the bill, so I had to get it myself. $163.35 mains only for 4 adults and 2 kids. Then she has the audacity to ask me for a tip. We had been there well over 2 hours and service was the last thing we had received..... No chance of a tip. I think it is the height of rudeness to ask or expect one! Having a meal in a restaurant is not something we often do, and I was very disappointed by this experience.
Melissa Bradnick
Good food, poor service. No one came to ask how our food was and we had to keep asking for water refills.
Roland Phillips
Great service, a really good steak and an amazing view especially as the sun sets and the lights come on.
Joanne Yoon
Seafood platter and cocktails were amazing! 오페라 하우스 옆이라서 분위기가 완전 좋아요~
Jenniffer Liss
I really enjoyed the steak here ! This is the best place at the quay.
Stuart Roberts
Absolutely fantastic! Very quick and friendly service by all staff members and the food was delicious.

We had some dinner on the X’mas day. The food was ok. But the service was unimpressive. We asked for the bill twice, but the was duplicated from the previous bill. The stuff thought that we had all the food and drinks we. They took 20 mins just to fix the bill. Your staff was unfriendly and rude. It’s not fair to pay for 15% service charge because of the service was terrible. More than that, one of the Spanish waitresses said in Spanish “Don’t ask them for tips” Chao!!!
Brenzi Missb Petryk
Lovely service from the staff looking after us during happy hour. The prawn and crab tostadas were so yummy!! Can't beat happy hour on a weekend for the cocktails! Even in a chilly afternoon the staff offered us warm blankets, so it was a really nice atmosphere as well. Will be going back!!
Mark Turner-Whitney
Love this place, visit every time I travel to Sydney. Great food, wine and atmosphere.
Judith Byrnes
Thank you all for your service today, we had a birthday celebration, our lunch was very well presented, tasty, all was what we had ordered (steak).cooked to perfection., my Poached Prawn Salad was something I had not tried before, just perfect. The staff waiting the tables were very attentive, your prices are much affordable, considering the position of your Café., Thank you once again., we will be back for sure...Judith Byrnes.,

The food was very good and the location is excellent. Located on the Sydney opera house walk way overlooking the harbor,Sydney bridge and the opera house.
Sarah Emily
Always great service which is the #1 reason I come back, view goes without saying and the food is delicious. Thank you for always showing me a good time and see you next time I’m in Sydney
Stephen Fogarty
Fantastic. Back for a second night before Vivid show. Matt and all the staff are fantastic.
Brooke Blumenthal
I sat in the restaurant for 10 minutes on a Saturday night without having a staff member so much as acknowledge me. Plenty of waitresses walked past me, but they couldn’t be bothered to even greet me
Kimberly Onia
Friday night dining out of this world!! Cocktails to die for! Well polished operation- I'll be back soon
Chris Susan Beesley
We've had a meal and drinks and in both occasions enjoyed the food and the service

Lunch was great and the view towards the bridge spectacular

Staff great worst piece of steak I've eaten in Sydney and don't get me started on the surcharge read the fine print

I came here with my friends on a lovely Sunday afternoon and we ordered the kangaroo burger, steak and chips and garlic bread. I thought that it was tasty! My friends who tried kangaroo for the first time really enjoyed the burger. The garlic bread was delightful too. I would recommend coming here when you are taking visitors to the Opera House. What a fantastic location.

Today I visited Searock Grill.<br/><br/>I ordered the T-bone, and my sister had the fish and chips. Both were very nice, and thoroughly enjoyed.<br/><br/>The only down side, I had to pay for my sides. So if you order the steak, that's all you get, I wanted mash, I had to pay for that. I wanted red wine jus, I had to pay for that as well. Usually you order food, and these sides are part of the price. In saying that, you only live once, so I'm OK with it.<br/><br/>Ambience: very nice and friendly staff, people everywhere, right near the water. You can't go wrong.<br/><br/>Price: Are you sitting down? T-bone $42, fish and chips $19. Two corona beers, $10 each. Red wine jus sauce, $3. Mash potato, $9 for a small bowl. Garlic bread, $9, two slices. Add the weekend surcharge, and I was $110 dollars lighter.<br/><br/>Overall: It's a lovely place, with attentive staff. Service was very nice, and friendly.<br/><br/>Normally, I would say, do yourself a favour but, in this instance, perhaps shop around. Especially, if you're on a budget. Me, I'm a sucker for a good meal, and it certainty was that, and more.

Fabolous food let down by poor service. We were seated at a table with no cutlery. Ordered drinks, finished drinks and staff kept walking past and did not clean table or offer more drinks. Although this place was packed with people a lot of the customers were complaining. The service was terrible - we had a baby with us and we asked for a slice of bread, the waiter would not accommodate and said the “only” bread they had was the $9 bread basket without offering any other solution. He also was rude and abrupt, I’m not sure if it was because they have to deal with tourists all day or that is how the restaurant was run. The food was very average. There are many more restaurants in the area - I say save your money and go somewhere else.
Jess Cameron
Never. Never. Never again. No service. Owner very very rude and won’t listen to what you’re saying. Staff all stand around doing nothing and avoid serving you. Just terrible. <br/>Owner needs to have a good look at himself as the way he spoke to myself and my partner is not on. Would not recommend to anyone. <br/>Well done to the small blonde lady with glasses, as if it wasn’t for her that place would go down. So thank you so much to her for making it bearable.
Sarah Lebellelune
The wangyu beef burger was dry and salty. When I got my meal my chips was not hot. I would not recommend eating here. I will definitely not come back. However the food was not as bad as the service received. I cannot say that for all the waitresses but the (Spanish speaking lady) that looked after me needs to get her act together. She never once said thank you even after I paid. She just chuck my receipt on my table and left.<br/>I was very disappointed with my experience.

It’s a great place to having lunch here but I had a bad experience when I was sitting outside because the annoying seagulls grabbed my food. The overall food is okay and one of the staff is very rude. I would like to spend money at other nearby restaurants next time.
Evelyn Chen
Sitting outside with the annoying wind and seagulls trying to rob your meal, the whole experience was not so good. The fake sangria was just so so. The steak was over cooked, only the mushroom sauce was good. From my perspective, I would give it 2.5.
Donjon
The staff were rushing us to order food and drinks. We ordered a seafood basket off the special board and it was all frozen food prawns calamari and fish. The other order was a burger and it didn’t quite smell right at the time, the person eating this was then sick all evening. Unfortunately I would not recommend this eatery.
Ali Suhail
Good food. Average seating area especially indoor. We were a group of many so probably that’s why we couldn’t easily settle in. Had numerous steaks and burgers. Service is good. <br/>Thank you so much for having us. See you soon. Amazing location i must say, especially if you get to sit outside. <br/>

Really bad experience in this restaurant, I will give 0 star if I can . The location is just nice but the food is bad (The steak test was too old to lock the juice. The fish got same problem and tasteless .)The service was even worse (The conversations with the waitress were just like I’m siting infront of my boss . Did not succeed in giving me the dishes I wanted . )It's really wast my money and time just in the first day I arrived Sydney .

Loved the long evenings with beer, breeze and scrumptious food. Add to it a wait staff par excellence and all of a sudden the experience magnifies positively. <br/><br/>Sampled the spicy chicken wings, salt & pepper calamari, grilled haloumi cheese, grilled tiger prawns, char grilled beef skewers, wagyu beef burger, fish of the day, seafood curry, rump steak, new york cut sirloin; phew, it was almost half the menu ... :)<br/><br/>Highly recommended.
Tanya
Pretty mediocre seafood sold at a highly inflated price. They most likely can get away with the prices since they’re located in a tourist hot spot but if you are a local, steer clear from this place. My seafood basket had no flavour and tasted just like they threw it in the frying pan. Nothing memorable at all about this place. And BEWARE - they charge a weekend surcharge on top and do not let you know about this until the bill comes.
Kym
We (me and my boyfriend) had our first dinner date here when we were in Australia. We both tried the Kilpatrick Sydney Rock Oysters, New York cut Sirloin served with my choice of sauce which is Native pepper berry sauce for me and Simply Perfect burger which has Wagyu beef instead of the regular beef patty for my boyfriend. <br/><br/>The ambiance made it more romantic as there were lit candles. The food is awesome and mouth watering.
Jenna Malkin
Wait staff extremely rude- did not feel like a valued customer. The waitress simply walked away without taking one of our orders. Food came out quick but the portion was sooo small and very over priced. Lastly they charged us 10% 'weekend surcharge' and 5% for splitting a bill..
Nguyen Son
Service is good, nice :)<br/>Salad tomato is delicious but the main disk is not good. The steak is bitter and overcooked. I think i dont want to come here again

Lovely place on the quay. We were accommodated for a table of four pretty quickly for a weekend night the place is that huge. <br/><br/>Food was great with the fish being the king of the pack !!

I don't normally leave negative reviews but would hate for others to have the experience we did. I took my parents here and I booked a table but when we turned up the waitstaff tried to seat us right next to the door under a fluorescent light. There was nothing on the table to indicate a booking and there were other tables closer in, away from the door. It was also a really cold night so we didn't fancy getting blasted by cold air every time the door opened. Thankfully we were placed at a better table further inside but the service leaves a lot to be desired.<br/><br/>We had to ask for water twice and I'm not sure the waitress cracked a smile once. She spoke in a bored monotone and wouldn't make eye contact, even when I tried to ask her a question. The restaurant is also very loud, with tiled floors and hard surfaces everywhere so you can hear the conversations of tables on the other side of the room (i.e. near the door, some poor couple was seated there.)<br/><br/>Once we had ordered, the food came fairly quickly which was appreciated but my steak was not good. It was seared well on the outside but was tough and chewy. The broccolini was fine and the mash and chips were delicious.<br/><br/>Overall, I wouldn't be back and definitely wouldn't recommend. There are plenty of restaurants in Sydney offering excellent customer service, an enjoyable dining experience and delicious food.

All I can say about this place was wow. We were on our way elsewhere but was coerced to try something new by the hostess as it was happy hour. But the customer service of this place is absolutely appalling that I wish I hadn't eaten at all.<br/><br/>The head section waiter/hostess seated us and completely forgot about is. It took approximately 15 minutes to even get a menu as every time we put our hand up she yelled across the floor "yep I see you" and continued to do other things. Other servers seemed to just say "one moment" and left it at that. Finally, She took our orders for oysters and drinks. <br/>It took another 15 minutes for the oysters to come out and we weren't offered water while we waited. <br/><br/>By the time the oysters got to the table they were room temperature. The oysters were not bad but perhaps it's a preference that they are served cold. They had also taken away all our napkins and cutlery and placed it on another table as we had not ordered a main meal yet. We then had to repeat the dubious task of flagging a server down to get some napkins.<br/> So approximately 45 minutes of sitting and our drinks had not yet arrived. When they did we had aperol spritz and a Cosmo. I'd probably recommend going the wine route and not order any of the cocktails. We had to wait a fair while longer for the Cosmo, so we flagged a staff member down and decided to cancel it. However, seconds later she arrived back at the table with the Cosmo. Not sure what happened there. <br/><br/>All in all, not a good experience. I hate being negative Nancy but I can only comment based on my experience. Which was not a good one.

Would give 0 if I could, I would only eat here for the view, other than that anything off the mcdonalds menu would probably taste better than the minuscule, tiny piece of overpriced barramundi I had ordered. It was greasy and disgusting, I have ordered it twice and so did my mum and she hated it too. Don't eat here, save yourself the money and eat elsewhere. The food for the price is just not worth it, this pricy restaurant serves cuisines that are fast food quality. Utterly appalling. This restaurant makes any fast food chain and McDonald's look good. Go here for the view, but don't expect the food to be outstanding.
The Hand That Bites
A nice view, but the "wagyu burger" was pretty dire. When I complained, the waiter laughed. I doubt I'll be rushing back to this place. It's a shame, it's in a prime location and could be smashing it.
Michael Connon
Great restaurant, over from NZ. Slightly expensive for steak as nothing comes with it, however top class food and great service. Will definitely be back again.

We had a very good dinner in Circular Quay last with a great view of the bay and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The calamari was sensational as were the tostados.
Frankiieshungrytummy
Walked past this place and thought we'd try it out as we hadn't been here before. <br/>The food was great and the dessert was divine! It was also a bonus that the food came out super quick as we were starving.<br/>Drinks were yummy too - it's always good when they have mocktails when you're driving!<br/>Service was also good. Waiters were very attentive and super friendly. <br/>Would definitely recommend this place to others. <br/>Would also go back to try out the rest of the menu.
Annie Nguyen
We ordered the Searock Platter for two which was okay but nothing spectacular. However it's probably the best thing on the limited menu. <br/><br/>The platter looked very impressive when it was served. This was mostly thanks to the XL prawns but the mussels were XS. The oysters were nice and creamy and the crab was juicy and sweet but also quite small, I would've liked to see more food and a bigger variety in the platter. Overall, enjoyable but not the best and freshest platter you could get in Sydney!
Phooikwan
Good view of Habour Bridge and Opera house. Very noisy reastaurant. Service is good. King prawn as entrée, sauce is nice but prawn not that fresh. Oven baked chicken very overall.
RIRIN SAPTARINA
Busy restaurant by the harbour. There was a good offer for dinner during weekdays, $29 for starter and main. $7 wine. We had steak and chips, baramundi, and two wines. Like most of other harbour restaurant, strugling with seagulls trying to steal your dish. Make sure you keep eye on your good. Over all it was good experience, dinner and looking up the bridge, fresh breeze..unfortunately didn't take any pic.
Maria
We received decent meals, they were good but not great to the point we'd return any time soon. The spicy seafood mains was pretty good, salmon was ok, eye fillet steak tasted good however serving was rather small. The sirloin steak however was disappointing as it was a bad cut with lots of gristle. <br/>All food were overpriced (most likely due to the location). We were here on a Saturday night and got a nasty surprise when we got the bill as there was a 10% weekend surcharge. We then asked to see the manager...she explained that the surcharge notice was at the bottom of the menu in small print. She'd also added that all restaurants on the strip of restaurants in Circular Quay have a 10% surcharge (#touristtrap). Additionally she stated that she lives in Cremorne and that they cafés there charge a 10% surcharge. This final statement is incorrect.
Hasnain
Beautiful view with a very average food. We ordered a steak and salmon. The steak was rare despite asking for well-done. The extra side order and water was never brought and was forgotten. Poor service
Coffee Cup
Beautiful view great atmosphere but this is no excuse for such average food at the price you charge. Let's start with the drinks- you offer any cocktail if you have the ingredients but could not make a bellini because it is frozen?? Ok so we sorted that out. The steak that was supposed to be medium rare was so rare it was almost blue and full of gristle. I ordered eggplant parmigiana....generally the eggplant would be crumbed but this was just eggplant covered in cheese and a little Napoli sauce. Now I get to the sides- $9 for a salad that was a few pieces of lettuce, literally 3 pieces of cucumber and some old flowery tomato! Are you kidding me. Don't make tourists think this is what we eat in Australia, it's embarrassing
UNO
Sat down to enjoy a beautiful day today at circular quay, catching lots of new pokemon.<br/><br/>Have to say, service was fantastic. Wagyu Burger ok too.
Those Who Love To Eat
Positioned in a prime location, along the quay wharf. You get to soak up the atmosphere, take in the harbour view as well as grabbing something to eat. Searock is situated along the scenic eating strip, catering for the tourist or those who want to be seen. How can you blame them, on a warm Sydney sunday, where the sun is shining and strolls are a must. <br/>The $19 lunch caught our eyes, and so... we decided to give searock a shot. <br/>We sat outside under the umbrella, and soaking up.the atmostphere. There were throngs of people walking around and catching Pokémons! This would be a perfect place for people watching, for those who like to observe the masses. <br/>We ordered fish and chips, and a wagyu burger. The wagyu burger didn't taste anything like wagyu. Felt like it was false advertising. The food was ok, nothing outstanding but it came out fairly quickly. Service was prompt and efficient, as there were loads of floor staff walking around. That's a bonus. <br/>I'm not sure sure... I wish I could have said I was wrong about restaurants around the touristy hubs just don't live up to the Sydney restaurant scene. I guess stereotypes exist for a reason. Anyhow... it was nice to eat and observe the spectacular view. Drinks around here would be better than eating.

I ate here on a Tuesday night with my brother and mother before watching a movie at the Dendy theatre. This restaurant was so disappointing and I would not recommend anyone eat here.<br/>The service was was subpar for a restaurant that charges $40+ meals. We had different servers throughout our meal and this caused delays with our orders. The main issue was the main meal, myself and my brother ordered oven-grilled chicken. This was served as two fillets, which looked to be boneless. As I was eating my meal I bit into a bone and almost broke one of my teeth. This happened to my brother as well. The meal itself was very small and the vegetables tasted like they were frozen. <br/>After advising the manager of the situation, he did nothing to remedy this other than advise 'this doesn't usually happen'.<br/>Very disappointing dinner. <br/>
World Traveller
I was walking around circular quay and hoping to enjoy my view and sitdown somewhere to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. I ended up choosing the right place. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari from the Happy hour menu which tasted amazing. I enjoyed my glass of wine and the spectacular views. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They interact to ensure you have a good time and check if you are ok. I highly recommend this place and I hope to come back and try something different on the menu next time.

Meal with a view. Super attentive and friendly service. Food was tasty and of a good portion. Great place to kick back and relax with a drink or a light meal.
Blink_182
We had lunch here. There was a great view of the Harbour Bridge. Nice staff, they were helpful and attentive. We selected from the lunch menu and got the fish and chips with a drink for $26. Overpriced but I feel that you pay for the view. The meal was simply done, the fish wasn't very tasty but overall was satisfactory. If you are looking for a tasty meal there are plenty of restaurants to choose from around that area.
Baker Bowie
The limited menu and excessive prices are worth it if you get a table outside with a good view of the harbour. Otherwise, despite the quality of the food, this restaurant isn't really worth it. I had the prawn salad which was full of juicy prawns and my friend had the steak which was well cooked. If you go for a steak, ne warned that you will have to purchase any sides as you are only buying a steak and nothing else. Good for tourists or rich people who just don't care.
Lunch Pie
Came here for a work lunch today and I must say I'm super impressed. Fast and friendly service. I got the rump steak with a side of mash. I shared the haloumni starter with a colleague. Must say that everything was cooked to perfection. Beautiful view which unfortunately couldn't be fully appreciated due to the dull weather. Will definitely come back another time in the sun 😊

Definitely touristy but we had to come for dinner by the opera house on our visit. Service was so slow- our food was bought out at different times- first they brought out a prawn dish and then took 15 mins to bring out the sides (bread and fries)- would have thought would be the other way around. Staff really friendly though and delicious cocktails.

I bought a voucher from iive social, decided to check out what the Searock Grill comments were, and was disappointed to see so many bad critics, I went there this evening and made the decision, that if it was bad, I wouldn't write anything as everything would have already been said, a I said to my daughter, bad critics are usually what you will get, because no one usually says anything when the food and staff are fantastic, and that is EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE, the staff were brilliant, and the food amazing, the wine was great, and ambience amazing, you wont be disappointed in giving this restaurant a go, I went in expecting nothing, and was extremely surprised, so thank you so much for a fantastic evening, brilliant food, brilliant staff and brilliant weather and scenery, an all round lovely evening, so you guys who have complained, maybe it wasn't so good for you, but there were 3 of us, and each of us  loved our meals. and really found the staff amazing, thank you so much, and hopeufully more people that enjoy your food, and resturant, will take the time to leave you a good review, I would defintily eat at this restaurant again. thank you :)

AMAZING FOOD! IMPECCABLE SERVICE.<br/><br/>My boyfriend and I had a voucher from LivingSocial for Searock Grill which included an entree and main each and an entire bottle of wine to share.<br/><br/>From the moment we walked in, we were amazed. The entree sizes were very generous and extremely tasty. Boyfe had the Greek Salad and I had the Prawns. He normally detests seafood but he tried the calamari and we ended up sharing both entrees. The goats cheese and pine nuts in the salad was a total winner!<br/><br/>Then the mains! He ordered the 250g Rump medium rare and I ordered the 160g Tenderloins medium well, both with a salad and mushroom sauce. Both steaks were so unbelievably tender and tasty that we savoured every mouthful. We were so satisfied by the food that we didn't get to our bottle of Red until afterwards.<br/><br/>We Googled the wine and it was a $15 cabernet merlot with very sweet notes. Absolutely no complaints and we spent the rest of our afternoon enjoying the amazing view.<br/><br/>And our voucher only cost is $49 !!<br/><br/>We will DEFINITELY be back to try the cocktails and dessert!

I came to searock cafe with my friend just for coffee. Staff are very friendly and I do enjoy the ambience here and the great view of harbour bridge!! So beautiful. I'd like to try food next time!!

We have one big plate full with seafood. A prowns was better than the other, but the mussels was very bad and disgusting. And when we finished and asked for the bill, they added 30$ just because it was holeday! that's stole.

Ate at Searock for our last meal in Sydney was absolutely outstanding! The service was great every single one of the waiters/waitresses were extremely friendly and attentive. Had the lychee martini was very sweet and tasty. I ordered the eye fillet steak medium rare with mushroom sauce and a side of mash potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, the perfect amount of sauce and the mash potatoes were the smoothest I've ever had! We then finished off with the chocolate salted caramel dome. Very different to any dessert I've ever had and also absolutely delicious!! The prices are quite high but would happily pay that amount for what I was served. Couldn't fault anything from the night! Definitely recommend!!

We headed along for breakfast and were met with very friendly and attentive service. Our coffee arrived quick and our meals not long after. While the food was not a standout it was ok. You do get the feeling that you are paying more for the location than the fare.

Nice beetroot salad
Jason Riley
Despite others poor review we had a team dinner here and the food and service were both very good. Would come again
Chicken Dipper
Food not worth the money. Way overpriced for the size you get. Dry steak. Would not go back!
Winch_winch
An absolute shocker. The staff are rude and unattentive - please do yourself a favour and give this one a miss. I wish I had checked urban spoon prior to eating here- some fairly common negative themes coming through. Such a waste of a great location.
Natalie
I'm not sure why all the other reviews are so negative. We came here upon being rejected by two other outdoor cafes due to having our dog with us and was waited on very attentively. Service was great, portions were very filling and food was priced accordingly. Would definitely come here again!
Claire
Today the service was very poor. We had to ask three times for water I ordered the beetroot, sweet potato and goats cheese salad and it had no beetroot in it. I could have built a retaining wall with the bricks of sweet potato.
Paulk
It's all about the service!. My wife is a great cook and I also cook a mean omelette. We have great views from a lovely home....so really, if all I want is good food and a nice outlook, then I'd stay at home. It's alot cheaper, as well. So for most people, it is is really all about being made to feel special. THE SERVICE. That is the real reason people go out to places like this. The staff at Searock Grill, particularly the chubby bearded guy vary from rude to indifferent. Rest assured, you will be left with the sense that they come first, not you!

Smallest possible dishes with highest possible pricess

$7 for Vegemite on cold toast? The food is utterly disgraceful here. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Belerina
Had a lovely Monday night dinner - service was very friendly and super quick! Pork Belly was very yummy! The price is on the high side but that is due to location :) worth a try x
Escety
OVERPRICED. We ordered sashimi salad, fish and chips, and a rump steak and it took an hour to come out. sashimi salad had about 3 slices of salmon for $25 and was way too salty and steak was cold. Portion and taste are not representative of the price.
Julie
Service was appalling. We had to ask 4 times to get the heater turned on, and then it didn't work. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Had to ask for the bill twice. Never again.
Dai Dinh
Finally the food came out after 1 hour and 20mins. It taste bad. Portion is small. Was almost cold. Worst decision I've made dining here<br/><br/><br/>-----31 Aug, 2013-----<br/><br/>Worst service I've ever experienced. Waited more than an hour for the food to come. If you're hungry do not come to this place
Daniel Santone
Worst service I have ever experienced. Food that we ordered never came out. Enquired three times with the staff, no one cared. Didn't even recieve our drinks. Could maybe understand a long wait at busy times but not when the place is half full. Wasted one whole hour waiting for bacon and eggs! No apology. Seriously don't bother. Such a shame that this location is being wasted by the searock grill.
Snowflake
Don't do it. Walk away now. Atrocious service. Food came out at different times. 30 mins apart. No apologies. If you are that desperate I'd try Hungry Jacks.
Brigid Leishman
Poached eggs on sourdough how can you get that wrong. Toast so hard it was shooting around my plate when I was trying to cut it. Eggs overdone and slow service. First and only visit.
Djxb1960
Takeaway style at a 5 star price. My companion's comment was "if this was Master chef, they'd be voted off the show tonight" ... lack luster presentation, poorly matched food with sides ... wine temperatures were too cold for their styles ... poorly presented food - salmon should have crispy skin - lobster should never be served with fries ... very disappointing given the setting and ambiance of the place
Peter H
Having it now. Ordering prompt, water on table immediately. Two kids fish'n'chips plus a shared basket. Arrived in 15 mins and nice presentation.<br/>Overly dark heavy batter on basket seafood, ok sauce but actual fisk was fine.<br/>Kids fish was better.
Lisa S
Over priced and not great. $50 Lobster was more like a scampi. French fries and fennel salad did not help with the high price tag either. Disappointing.
Aaron Smith
Seemed great, we rocked up for lunch and it was full, we sat in the sun and then decided to move inside, the staff took note and when a table in the shade became available they came and asked us if we wanted to move outside. I ordered the pork belly and my wife the steak. After one bite I couldn't stop eating it as it was delicious. Wine was nice and the view was great. Service was great too as we were impressed they took note of us wanting to eat outside.
KC75
I wish I had read the reviews before choosing to eat here. Fishermans basket was greasy and didn't taste fresh at all. Service was ok. Value for money poor.
Catherine Malsem
Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Biggest scam in Sydney . Nice view just have a drink !!
Rhea
Absolutely horriballs. My fiance and I thought it would be promising considering how full the place was when we arrived, but after consuming our meals I'm utterly confused as to why the place has so many patrons. <br/><br/>Ordered entrees and dinner at 7:30. After half an hour of patiently waiting for our entrees [how long does it take to do freaking garlic bread and some scallops, seriously?!] we questioned the waitress who assured us they would be coming out soon. <br/><br/>The entrees eventually arrived at 8:15. FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY WITH OUR MAINS. Both entrees and mains were lukewarm too. What the hell. Why would you serve entrees and mains at the same time? We can only assume our orders had been misplaced somewhere in the process.<br/><br/>So unless you like poor service, crappy expensive food that is delivered with astonishingly terrible timing, then, like the other reviewers below this one, I implore you not to step foot into this joint.

AWFUL!! The worst meal I've eaten in a long time. There is a rule of thumb - the better the view, the worse the food. This restaurant unfortunately went with the rule. JUST AWFUL!! <br/><br/>We ordered fish and chips - the simplest dish on the menu. The presentation was nice. But the meal was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. <br/><br/>Their fried chips tasted like they were made of reconstituted potato. The fried fish, as if it was from the Coles freezer. Then there was the meagre sized salad served in a ramekin.<br/><br/>My soy piccolo was served with curdled milk. Delish....not!<br/><br/>The manager who came to our table after the waitress pushed him to do so, clearly didn't give a damn. No goodwill. Just said he would take on board the feedback. Sure he will, like there will be 'no carbon tax under by Government'. Seemed like he was dead behind the eyeballs and was only going through the motions. He had ample opportunity to at least have made a gesture of goodwill and suggest he would take a hit on the poor meal served up. Not so. Full freight. No apology. I doubt there will be feedback to the chef.<br/><br/>My recommendation...walk on by. At the time of writing 61% of people rated this restaurant a 'do not like.' <br/><br/>Unless the restaurant Management radically changes, and the chef serves up better, I would suggest you don't touch Searock with one of the barge poles that are nearby in the harbour.<br/><br/>UTTERLY AWFUL!!!!
GoodDineGoodTime
Terrible service, food was cold when it should have been hot, burger bun stale, table wonky, chicken salad more cucumber than anything else, over priced...stay away!!
Swijr R
Very ordinary. Seafood overcooked crumbed fish fillets so thin and heavily crumbed I couldn't taste the fish. Seafood basket disappointing Service average Only good thing is the location.
Columba
Over priced and not great. Had dinner with friends. Only one of the main dishes was worth the money, the other 3 main courses were small and of poor quality. They are charging high prices because of location. Would not go back
Pollo_pesce_me
Very good seafood platter for 70 dollars good over all restaurant friendly service pacific oysters are bit over priced.
Kliik
Service was inadequate and completely not genuine, if you are looking for good seafood...STEER CLEAR. Disappointing cocktails. Overall poor experience.

It was a nice atmosphere, very romantic but pricey, you would expect something very tasteful, exquisite for the price you're paying. My partner and I ordered the special fetticine that night, first the waitress ordered the wrong dish for us so we had to wait even longer, and I was absolutely starving by that time. Our dish came out 15mins after and the pasta wasn't cooked through properly, wasn't tasteful at all, waste of $30 for a dish of pasta!
Sydneyguyrojoe
Disappointing. A busy Saturday night and a lot of places had long lines, this place had 2 couples ahead of us so we thought we'd try this place. The wait, we were told, was around 15 minutes, which was truthful. But the food did take a little while to come out. The waiters were polite though.<br/><br/>Food wise its was below what I expected. Portion size it was a little smaller than other places. For myself I might as well go to a fish and chip shop where it would be better value and taste.<br/><br/>Yes I know Circular Quay has nice ambience and all restaurants are a little more than other places, but this place has nothing which makes it stand out from the rest.
Paul
Average. Went here on a Friday night. Service was ok but not what id call "professional" . <br/><br/>Food... I had Seafood Risotto. Was ok, though a little underdone and not much seafood. Friend had Soft Shell Crab - i stole some, it was pretty good. <br/><br/>Probably overpriced for the service and quality.
Rodders
Average at best!. Friday night, Service was slow had to remind staff to bring our bottle of wine more than once. Had the Fishermans basket, the chips were great the Fish was flavourless and had the texture of toothpaste. Wine was ok Sav Blanc Hazard hills or something but over priced for its quality at $47 a bottle. This place must cater for the tourist dollar, those with little risk or returning. Keep walking there is better to be had elsewhere at the quay.

Two visits, two very different experiences. Staff are backpacker transients so no real care or interest but polite nonetheless. Food round 1; dismal - main course arrived roughly 1 minute after entree served. Over battered but chips great. Round 2; steered clear of deep fried and all was terrific. Expensive experiment though.
Mr. Flavin
Disappointing. Expensive, slow, over battered, undersized portions. The main course sashimi is at best entree size. Imported beers actually brewed in Australia. Great views saved a disaster lunch.
Aurora Guy
Mixed experience for a Sunday evening meal. My companion's soft crab in a basket was nice. However, my pasta special with scallops, green peas, and "a hint of mint" was virtually flavorless. The scallops not even seared, and oddly enough the kitchen forgot that mint and salt, apparently. Service was fair. AUD$83 for this mediocre meal and two glasses of cabernet Sauvignon. I suggest you keep walking and choose from several other fine eateries in the area.

We were off to see a show and the waiter established this from the get go. In the friendliest, swift but most unhurried way we were fed and watered with great food wonderfully. Highly recommended.
Aggie
Great seafood place in CQ. Very nice place, great atmosphere, decent prices. I had their fishermans basket with soft shell crab - nicely cooked and beautifully served. It is an elegant and classy cafe perfect for relaxed lunch or dinner.
Roxy
Great view. Pity about the ordinary food and the very poor service
