Had an excellent night here for dinner as we celebrated our first year anniversary. The service was first class and the food was amazing as we dug into our seafood platter. We were also shouted a free desert and sparked to celebrate the anniversary which was a pleasant surprise
Fresh and high quality seafood, amazing darling harbour view, friendly and attentive staff. Definitely would recommend this place to those who are looking for a nice restaurant to treat their family or partner. Super satisfying meal I must say!
We began at Hunter and Barrel, a location we’ve been to a few times for we love the location, its stunning interior design and delicious food. It has a sophisticated fit our with comfortable booths, rugs and pendant lights. On previous visits, we’ve had a great sample of meats and the larger dishes, but this time we were here for drinks and tapas.
Did you catch part one of my foodie safari? Part two starts off at Nick's Seafood on Cockle Bay Wharf. We are treated to some of the canapes that they serve when they cater to big groups or weddings. I am reminded how beautiful Cockle Bay Wharf is and the great venues in this area. We sip on some sparkling white wine and enjoy some of the seafood canapes. There's a seared tuna canape that Matt really enjoys while I like the smoked ocean trout on a crustini and also the crab which is paired with avocado.
The staff are very friendly and the service was great. The food was so delicious and fresh.

Designed to serve hoards of tourists. This place seemed not so delicious. But I had my opinion changed. Their special lunch menu is actually good value and diversified. Steaks are not shabby at all, large and juicy for $16. The calamari batter is a bit too soft for my liking. Xihuahua 🐶 had hotwater. Do not buy hot water there.
Consistently excellent over the past 20 years I’ve been going there and they must have the best seafood platter in Sydney if not Australia an intstitution and well worth a visit also excellent and friendly service thank you Nicks

We ordered Lobster and Octopus which were surprisingly fresh and juicy!! Strongly recommended the view but the price is not friendly for everyone I accepted .
Btw: the waiter who from Asia was so nice that my friend said he made his day haha!
Great food, setting and service. Staff friendly and food was fresh. We enjoyed soft shell crab with salmon and Snapper and was superb. nice choice of drinks with reasonably priced wines given location. Recommend
Quite a nice, laidback atmosphere that I got from the restaurant, however I can see this place getting real busy in peak hour. Service was lovely and timely - I went at Friday lunch. The chargrilled octopus was delightful - not an abundance of seasoning that just allowed the ingredients to shine. The flavour of fennel, sundried tomatoes and olive oil with the rocket really blended well with the rest of the dish. The Ciabatta bread was a little lackluster, perhaps the bread was a little dense for my liking. The pasta actually tasted more like pesto than garlic, but the prawns were fresh and flavourful which helped oomph up the aroma of shallots and chorizo on the spaghetti. Overall, a great place for happy hour and lunch on a sunny day near the harbour; I could see many other patroens ordering the $16 steak lunch special which I could see was seared to a consistent medium rare. Would come again!

Everything was perfect!
We went there during Vivid , and whilst ordering our food, the fireworks begun to set the mood. We ordered the seafood platter with lobster - and mornai. Sooooo good! We also ordered the octopus which was so fresh with its BBQ smoked flavour. Very affordable, for fresh seafood.

I had a lovely dinner here last night by the water. The atmosphere was so lovely, especially because it was such nice weather last night. I ordered the vongole and crab meat pasta which has parmasen, tomato, chilli & pesto sauce, which was deliciously creamy. Best seafood pasta I’ve ever had! The peanut butter chocolate fondant with chocolate soil, almond nougatine and vanilla bean ice cream was a perfect dessert to finish the meal.

Having been a customer for over ten years, it's one of my favourites, I celebrated my birthday on Saturday for a fabulous lunch, we love Nick's Seafood as always a great experience, especially their seafood platters, very fresh and a great selection. Service has always been friendly and attentive. The big test was a few years back for a massive work Christmas party, food was delicious, consistent and everyone was happy including the big boss! For those of you with an entertainment card, $45 off is great value so use it towards one of their awesome platters!
Over the last decade or two I have basically written Nick's Seafood Restaurant off as being part of the greater commercial tourist venues of the Darling Harbour District. While this is still mostly accurate, the seafood is fresh and delicious and you don’t operate a venue this large in Darling Harbour, let alone six of them, for twenty years without knowing what you are doing. It's worth a visit alone for a whole baby lobster under $50-.
The restaurant is in a good location in Darling Harbour, and the service was ok. While the seafood and risotto dishes tasted fine, you felt you didn't quite get full value for money. However, my friends enjoyed eating there, so it was a good dining experience. Still, there are better seafood restaurants in Sydney though.
Seafood resto by the water serving up classics such as Lobster Mornay, seafood baskets and garlic prawns. In an open airy space by the water in Darling Harbour you can indulge and relax. What I particularly liked was the panko and sesame crumb calamari and the bugs with garlic sauce, in fact the garlic sauce is so good you could put it on everything here. Don’t go to Nick’s expecting boundaries to be pushed and I would stick to obvious food. A couple of items I wanted had honey soy and other sweet flavours in sauce, of which I’m not a fan and these reminded me of food in the 80’s.
Amazing seafood! We enjoy our meals every time. The only negative about this place is the cost of a meal, they're extremely expensive but after all it is on the harbour and the quality is amazing so you pay for what you get.
Simple seafood done very well, the platter was loaded with Australian seafood which included hot and cold. We added a lobster in garlic butter glad we did as it was perfect. Service was top notch and the wine list was extensive. I recommend prior booking as it is popular here because it is very good.

This is part of a chain so I was dubious however there was no need to worry. Service friendly and helpful, scampi plentiful and tasty and it's not going to break the budget.

Went here for lunch and order the Seafood Platter for Two to share. Tbh, this platter is pretty big for two, there were so much food, we could not finish it all. Was not the best seafood but still pretty decent. Love the ambience, great little area by the Darling Harbour.
Went here for breakfast on Sunday. Very friendly staff. Breakfast menu basic. Meals nothing to rave about just ok.
Coffee great. Great view for people watching and Darling Harbour views. We will be back even if it's just for the coffee
Had dinner here while waiting for our cruise for Vivid Sydney, didnt expect anything but had food cause we hadnt got meals since morning. Me and hubby ordered fettuccine carbonara with bacon, and also oyster to share. Oyster came first, it topped with bechamel and permesan cheese, taste good. Our carbonara also good, for 24 bucks they gave bacon generously.

Good location at darling harbour. We wanted to try kangaroo. So ordered the steak. I don't think I'll be eating kangaroo again as the best is too chewy.
We tested the garlic bread and Greek salad. Really fresh and good.
Food is really expensive here though. But this is Sydney and it is the location. I would recommend having sea food.... Most people were.
Had a really amazing meal here. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh. I tried the mussels with spicy sauce and the lobster with garlic and butter which was outstanding. Their wine collection is pretty good too. A must visit if you're in Sydney.
Really lovely. Good service. Fresh seafood. pricey but it is Darling Harbour. One real draw back is the bloody seagulls! I had the mixed cold platter. I requested to swap oyster for prawn and was obliged. Greek salad was lovely and fresh on the side.

In its heyday this place was the go to for fantastic seafood, not that the seafood quality has diminished at all, quite the opposite.
The problem is whilst other places are getting creative in presentation and fusion flavours Nicks is stuck on the traditional dishes.
Now you might want traditional, nothing wrong with that either, but for me personally not at the prices being charged.
If I'm going to be charged a small fortune, I want to wowed !
A great place to enjoy the Saturday night fireworks on Darling Harbour. A little overpriced but you pay that extra for the location. Sunday set menu for lunch is great value for money,
Beautiful position on Darling Harbour. The crab ravioli is always amazing and is the perfect portion size. Definitely recommend coming here, won't be disappointed!
A little on the pricey side- but hey it's darling harbour! We ordered a seafood platter and a crayfish and aside from the smoked salon which I don't really like we're well pleased.
So strolling down the promenade on Saturday early afternoon. The sun was hot and we hadn't eaten since early morning. Spied someone eating a very nice looking seafood platter and thought - That's us. Rocked up, asked for a table in the shade and a little breeze was a bonus. We got the cold seafood platter for 2, which is $120, but wne you are on holiday; why the hell not. A couple or three beers and a wonderful array of seafood - oysters, mussels, smoke salmon and Avocado, Morton bay bugs, prawns and crab. All fresh, all prepared perfectly. Presented lovely. A great waiter. Very happy
It's seafood, it's good😍(for me). Came to get my seafood carving fix and it did not disappoint me. Must order the lobster, perfectly cooked and moise. The seafood plater was equally fresh and tasty. Service wise, pretty attentive.

Nick knows seafood and Nick does it well. This is old school fresh seafood with good quality and good sized portions. This restaurant is in a prime Cockle Bay location and is huuuge. It's also good to see steak and poultry options on the extensive seafood menu. The service was certainly acceptable without being outstanding. And the dishes are plated traditionally lacking the creativity of the best restaurants however I'm being picky. You won't be let down with the good food here.
I had a wonderful three course lunch on Friday the 1st, it consisted of salt and pepper calamari for entree and that was cooked so tenderly, then for main course I had the tuna steak and that was cook to my perfection, and last of all I had the belgian double chocolate fondant and that was just divine
Nicks, you've done it again! The seafood is a delight. Carefully prepared meals, with detail. I appreciate the scenery and the interior is luxurious. The staff are very attentive and help you out with anything.
We ventured to Nicks on a sunday night seafood fix and we were not disappointed, with the mixed reviews we went with a open mind. Service was perfect the waitstaff were attentive yet not overbearing for us, we like to dine and chat not eat and run, the food was sublime we looked at the seafood platter but decided on multiple entrée instead, this way we could taste what we wanted for nearly the same price, crab ravioli, oyster Kilpatrick, chilli and garlic prawns, salt&pepper calamari, scallops and garlic bugs, small tasty plates of true freshness, the kitchen needs to be commended on the quality of the food. I could not fault anything at this restaurant from the seating and views to the wonderful wait staff and all the superb food, if you are looking for a great date night location or a friendly atmosphere for a gathering then this is a go to place, Nicks will become a repeat dinner location when ever we are in Sydney.

My friend and I ordered the seafood platter for two and it did not disappoint. Only down side is the staff came off a bit rude when serving, not something you expect when you're forking out the dollars for a harbour experience, but it was mostly harmless.
First time here and it was amazing. Everything about the food is fine dining. I don't normally have 3 courses but I couldn't resist here, everything was beautiful and well presented. I also really liked their music mix. If I had to complain about anything it would probably be the chairs, very uncomfortable and surprising at such a high end restaurant but overall a great experience.
I've been here a few times and never disappoints! Beautiful location, attentive staff, lovely fresh seafood and great desserts. Some gimmicky restaurants depend on their location to bring in business and they don't put so much in to their food - Nicks is not one of them. Delicious for long work lunches!
I love my sea food and this place has always been great.
The only reason it didn't get 4.5 is because the waitress who served us didn't know what she was doing.
The soft shell crab was tasty as ever and the lobster with butter garlic hit all the right spots.
I will continue to visit this place as it is one of my favourite places to eat sea food.

Nice views, very spacious venue. Tables and chairs abit cramped together which made it uncomfortable with little room for movement and kind of hazardous. The salmon and barramundi fillets were cooked to perfection and presented simply with crispy and fresh salad on the side or there is also option for chips. Abit expensive for a relatively small piece of fish with little side condiments.
Go for the view and the atmosphere. The $15 lunch special is good given the location. The restaurant is roomy and can cater for large walk in groups.

Had seafood platter that consists of fresh oyster, prawns, raw salmon, calamari etc. and it was pretty good.
I think the mushroom risotto with the addition of melted crunchy cheese above...is really delicious as well.
It's on a pricy side so i'd only come here on special occasions. Teehee.
The first course of our seafood banquet was really well thought out. Two extremely fresh oysters each, plus the perfect accompaniments for some savoury smoked salmon – fresh green avocadoes and light creme fraiche. The Moreton Bay bugs were probably the highlight of this dish though, as they were just grilled to perfection – slightly smoky and charred on one side, but juicy and plump inside. I could have eaten ten of these!

On a very busy Saturday night we received excellent service.from attentive staff. Both entrées and mains were very good. John Dory was especially tasty.
