The coffee at this place is nice. Had the purple fields $18 and iced chocolate $7. Mate had sicilian mornings $19 and cold brew $4. Everything was delicious. Music was quite loud here, had to shout when having a conversation. Happy to come again.
I was here a few months ago when I visited Sydney.
I love the outdoor-indoor set up of this brunch place. The mushroom chips was to die for š¤¤ ā

Fantastic coffee and food, great fast and friendly service! Onto another winner! šš½
Had a wonderful experience at Henry Leeās today! Our food came out within minutes of ordering and they all tasted amazing :) The croissant with lime mayo crab was super flavourful and the chicken katsu burger was really good as well! I really enjoyed my soy Golden Latte (Chai, ginger, tumeric) - it was like a spicy chai but better. Overall a very good experience - one of the best cafes in Sydney!
Came on a weekday and it wasnāt too busy. Lovely place and the staff were really friendly as well. The Benny Munro was alright but the real star were the mushroom chips (never had these before but they were great!) We also ordered the red velvet latte (which was amazing) and the Taro latte (kinda lacked flavour). Overall a pretty chill place for brunch!
Went there on Saturday morning for brunch
The cafe was quite busy and we waited 20min for a table.
The service was ok but if the staff could clean up the table quickly then people wonāt need to wait that long. There were empty tables but itās just no one to clean it up.
The cappuccino was a bit sour. The lavender seeds in the white hot chocolate were bitter.
The pork belly was tasty. The fried chicken burger was delicious as well.

The salmon was delightfully crispy and well cooked. The salmon complimented well with the puree as it cut through the heaviness of the salmon with the vegetable puree. You'll definitely be satisfied with the dish and it was very nourishing with all the whole foods. Would recommend this when you are hungry but don't want that uncomfortable sluggish feeling after eating a big meal.

These days I tend to try to stray after from eating too much meat but with this dish you wouldn't notice that its vegetarian because of how flavoursome it is.Ā

The one word that comes to mind with this drink is: healthy. A concoction of beetroot, cucumber, ginger and a dashĀ of sweetest from crispy green apple this will start your day off. I can't stand the taste of ginger but it was quite mild so I did enjoy the other flavours when drinking this. The different textures of the cauliflower, the pumpkin and quinoa made it very enjoyable to eat. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well the yoghurt went with everything. I found the presentation of this dish very well done as well. Perfect for Instagram!
āRuby Tuesday šššš„¤
This was a very refreshing drink, mixed with watermelon, rhubarb, pinkĀ lady apple, pear & lime. It had a slight lemon-y tinge to it from the lime but overall it was a moderately sweet drink that cleansed the palette.Ā

The cafe in itself is lovely. There's a range of different seating arrangements for your preference and marble tables to take nicer photos. For both the indoor and outdoor seating it was very open-spaced, which didn't make us feel rushed to leave rather than feeling cramped.

I really enjoyed each dish for this visit. Honestly speaking, some of the dishes in my previous visits were a hit and miss but I would thoroughly recommend the ones that we've ordered. If you were opting for a healthier brunch, please order these dishes and drinks! It was pleasantly nourishing and filling. It's also a short walk from Redfern station so its very easy to get to.
Prince of Brighton : š Amazing
The Ripper : š Amazing
Tiradito : š Amazing
Rooibos + Rose Latte : š Great
Watermelon + : š Great
Coffee : š Amazing
Love the outdoor/indoor set up of the cafe. Food was stunning on the plate and delicious in the mouth. Prince of Brighton has the perfect combination of pastry, avo and mango to make it a refreshing dish. The Ripper was doused in balsamic mushrooms and the Tiradito had a mix of different things that complimented each other well on a plate. Coffee was smooth and creamy. The Rooibos + Rose Latte was anything too special but I felt it has a nice subtle rose taste in a creamy milk drink and the watermelon cold press was very refreshing. Super outstanding.
I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Although the entrance was not very inviting, as soon as we stepped in, the outdoor space and relaxed setting was very intriguing. I ordered the Tiradito, which was presented beautifully on the plate. The colours were absolutely stunning! It was a very light breakfast. My recommendation would be to order this dish if you aren't feeling very hungry because the portion is small. The flavours were simple and it was not a "wow" dish. However, I liked the texture of the purple chips which added some depth to the flavour. If you're looking for an aesthetic dish, this is the one to go for.
Good coffee and good food. The Tiradito was delicious and light. The ripper was okay, but the overload of balsamic in the mushroom made it difficult to finish. The Prince of Brighton was also a good dish. Overall a good cafe with friendly and prompt service.
Definitely a great vibe, the outdoor seating was a bonus! A varied selection of coffees and the food was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming but may have to book ahead because the place does get busy.
Itās again a very popular cafe. We went on Saturday for lunch. Thereāre a few people waiting to be seated but we didnāt wait for a long time.
[The gloaming] is a dish with a big and crispy croissant. It looks very beautiful and is ideal for Instagram photos.
[Summer Spirtz] is a kind of drink which has 3 flavors that we can choose. It looks very nice and tastes pretty nice.
Relaxing cafe with one of the prettiest dish platings in Sydney. Lattes had beautiful art and were very creamy #beware lactose intolerancy. Savoury dishes were nice with tasty individual components e.g. fried zucchini that worked okay with the rest of the plate.
Good food and nice outdoor atmosphere. However every time I have come here , the wait has been quiet long for food and I have overheard other tables complain about the same wait times. I would still recommend !
I dined here on a Saturday for lunch. I went with one other friend and we waited 45 minutes to be seated (this was communicated to us beforehand and we chose to wait). While waiting, we had our hot drinks which I had a chai latte. It was served warm and there was plenty of chai flavour. For my meal I had the "Benny Munro" which had pork belly, poached eggs, pickles on top a cauliflower and sweet corn croquette. The pork was tender and fell apart with your fork, eggs were poached perfectly and the croquette added a nice filling base. The dish is quite big so make sure you're hungry.Ā I would return again but might try come earlier in the day to reduce the wait time.
Fantastic spot for brunch! Came here with a friend and we were both impressed by the quality of food and the presentation.
I ordered 'The Gloaming' pictured below, and let me tell you, it's heaven on a plate. The croissant was flaky, the cheese beautifully sweet and tangy, and all the other things on the side from the fairy floss to the candied pecans complemented the main flavours very well. Would recommend giving it a try. It's described as 'croissant french toast' but I personally didn't feel like that was very french-toast like, but nevertheless, still delicious. And how about that presentation? Stunning!
I also ordered the tumeric latte after our server recommended it. I would also recommend giving it a try. You can easily taste the ginger in it which I absolutely love. I also had a sip from my friend's charcoal latte and I liked that too. Strong sesame flavour with that one.
Service was great. Everyone we came in contact with was courteous and helpful. If you're coming on a weekend, expect to wait ~30mins or so.
The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the men's bathroom. I went in to wash my hands and it didn't smell great. Something for the staff to work on perhaps.
Will definitely be back.
A lovely place hidden in the streets of Redfern. The interior was modern and the food was really tasty! I ordered the Henryās Dream myself, and there was so much avocado, that I think I probably ate 5 avocados altogether :o
Will come again to order a dish with some meat because I think the vego option was a bit too clean for me. Definitely a good place to take āinstaā food pictures āŗļø
Both the dishes my friend and I ordered were vegetarian but it was so flavourful and I enjoyed every bits of it. Their lattes were so pretty but I was so confused what it was meant to taste like. Just stick to water next time.
I would rate this five stars if the line wasnāt that long to get a table. Other than that, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I love the different coloured and flavoured lattes! Highly recommend but itās best not going during a busy period.
The wonderful famous cafe in Redfern, we came on Weekend and need to wait quite long but itās worth. Like their customer service, they so friendly and I will rate the food 5 star, the soft shell crab and beef burger is revommended šš»
My friend and I arrived at this cafe at opening time (8am) and it started filling up quite quick. What I ordered was a piece of art! It was a pistachio brownie with a mango panna cotta kind of thing on top shaped like a pear, with grilled stone fruit and some muesli and fresh fruit.. the best breakfast Iāve had in Sydney! I think I was trying to tell myself it was going to be healthy because it was a āpistachioā brownie... and it had muesli and fruit... but you most definitely need to run a few km to burn this off. The brownie was slightly warm and perfectly cooked, kind of like a fudgy soft brownie without being too rich. My friend ordered the meatballs and she raved about hers also. The coffee was perfect, the staff were very friendly, and the food was amazing. I canāt wait to go back to this place next time Iām in Sydney.

This fusion cuisine is really crazyyy! I cant describe them so please just look at the photos, they look interesting and really delicious. Just come by and try any of their dishes. Satisfaction guaranteed!
I would probably say that this cafe has one of the best brunches in Sydney. Itās a short walk from Redfern station and has that workshop aesthetic vibe. Itās super artsy and full of life and the ideal cafe to kick off your weekend at.
The food was SO GOOD! Not sure why itās not letting me upload pics, but I ordered the meatball dish in Sugo on sourdough (the proud girl?) and it was sooo tasty and extremely filling. My friend had the breakfast burger with bacon and egg and loved it. The dishes were presented beautifully and tasted amazing to boot. Same price point as any other cafe but totally worth the money; really good value.
The mushroom chips are to DIE FOR. Dipped in the sauce, theyāre honestly such a standout & sooooo addictive! šš¼
We got the red velvet and taro lattes and I was honestly really hesitant at first but WOW they were amazing! They werenāt overly sweet; had the perfect level of strong flavour with smooth sweetness to balance. we didnāt finish them because they became cold fairly quickly though. But I love how novel & unique the concept is.
This is defo one of my fav brunch spots in Sydney to soak up the creative atmosphere and take lots of cute pics. Would definitely come again and try out the other dishes š
This is by far the best cafe in Redfern, and one of the best in Sydney. The food is always top notch, the service friendly and the coffee very good. Never been disappointed here!
charcol latte was so nice! as a non coffee drinker totally rate it! food was nice too! staff were friendly
only issue was the white hot chocolate drink that tasted more like warm milk.

Tucked away in a back street is the most famous cafĆ© in Redfern, Henry Leeās! This cafĆ© boasts its open space and quirky fun menu! Specialty drinks are their kind of thing! White lavender hot chocolate, honeycomb affogato, Earl grey latte and more! But what I love the mostā¦ Their Taro Latte! Not too starchy, not too sweet, just how I like it!
Been here twice and was not disappointed at all! Really nice food and cute setting. The Prince Of Brighton was definitely a favourite. Coming back here again!
I do believe this place set the high standard food for the cafe competitors around Sydney.
Venue:
Nestle on Eveleigh street, what a hidden gem around the area.
Love the courtyard sitting, very casual and cozy.
Service:
Friendly, helpful and cheerful floor staffs.
Iām sure barista and kitchen staffs too, because the produce an instagram worthy food and beverages.
Food & Drink.
Tap water to start with... šjoking guys... itās for free...
I did order honeycomb piccolo to start with because today is so freaking hot š„µ.
Double espresso, caramel syrup, vanilla ice cream, hazelnut and honeycombs.
The moment I saw this Iām sold! I know there is ice latte and Vietnamese ice coffee as well, but my eyes set on this drink.
The presentation of the affogato is something that I never seen before.
Beautifully presented!
I was recommended their signature dish, the grain, this dish was so delish!
Poached eggs, pork belly, chipotle hollandaise, purple cabbage slaw, saffron pickle zucchini and sitting in bed of corn croquettes.
Pork belly was awesome, pickle zuchinn I was uniquely cut through the heaviness for chipotle hollandaise, what a beautifully crafted dish!
If it is something to improve, that is more salt on the Corn croquettes, portion size and flavour was on point otherwise.
Not at a distant from Redfern station but slightly worth finding location, is placed this beautiful cafe. The ambience comprises of soothing seating under the sky amidst the housing complex around it.
The food menu is pocket friendly and the food is palette friendly.
Tried the purple latte with tarot milk and pork belly with poached eggs and hollandaise for brunch. The size of portion was hard to finish for a foodie like myself.
Much appreciation for this place and a highly recommended note.
The service is exceptional, super friendly and polite. We ordered the Henryās dream with extra bacon, mushroom chips which is a must, Vietnamese coffee and a dragon fruit smoothie. Safe to say all the dishes and drinks were very nice. Food came out pretty fast as well. The cafe itself is well set up with nice decor. I definitely recommend this cafe, one of the better cafe in Sydney thatās for sure.
A hidden Melbournesque cafe in Redfern that boasts a quirky fun menu that differs from your basic cafe! I came in when the summer menu rolled out and tried the pork belly and fritter dish and the charcoal latte. The dish was very good and the pork belly was the star. So juicy and flavourful!!! The let down however was the cauliflower fritters which were very dry and flavourless. It would have greatly benefited from some sauce as even the other elements couldnt make up for it when eaten together. The charcoal latte was very pretty but like the other drinks it seemed a bit watered down.
Beautiful cafe in a light filled courtyard style sitting. Everything was on point, the service, the food and the presentation. Interesting menu including fancy latte selection. š
Loved the two lattes we ordered, especially the Charcoal Latte. Iāve never had activated charcoal in my latte, it was a great experience. I believe the charcoal wouldnāt have much taste so they were clever to add black sesame into it, (matching colour) with the ginger & maple syrup, it felt like drinking an Asian sesame sweet soup dessert in a glass. š
The Proud Girl had smooth silky scrambled eggs but the meatballs were a tad dry. š¬ On the other hand The Mercy Seat was perfect. Flaky croissant sandwiching a nice chunk piece of tender smoked ham with melted cheese. It was divine. But our favourites was the Mushroom chips. Juicy & meaty thick cut of portobello mushrooms deep fried with seasoning & dipped with garlicky aioli. Itās a way better option than a bowl of potato chips. š
Top shelf cafe. Been here so many times Iāve lost count. Easy go to for excellent breakfast and lunch food. Serving little marionette coffee and hrvst st juices. The place to call home is a standout but all the dishes look (and taste) great.
Such an awesome vibe to this place. The service was friendly and with the weather being so warm and nice we loved the overall feel of this cafe. The mushroom chips were on point, juicy and moist inside and crispy outside. The coffee was good too however we found the food average. We had the softshell crab with scrambled ggs and also the scrambled eggs with meatball. Wouldn't say I would thrilled to go back to try other food but still thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Henry Leeās is definitely worth a dip down the streets of Redfern - a hidden cafe with a āconcept kitchen,' itās ticked off all the boxes of a local-feel, gram-worthy, YARM-worthy delightful brunch spot!Ā
The space itself features a light and open courtyard, with a clean modern aesthetic and breezy ambience. The staff were very attentive and our waiter was super nice and helpful!Ā
And the best thing is that every piece of food not only looks beautifully imagined but also tastes sublime. You can really tell that the chefs have put a lot of creative thought into curating the identity of every meal and drink.Ā
For brunch we had:
- Henry Feels ($21): Folded eggs w/ chorizo, asparagus and preserved lemon, crispy soft shell crab, crispy kale, Spanish paprika and aleppo chilli oil, sourdough soldiers, burnt lemon
- Henry's Dream ($21): Grilled sourdough w/ avocado, hose pesto, roasted cherry tomato, fresh herbs, watermelon radish, poached egg topped w/ whipped persian feat stuffed zucchini flower, dukkah + lemon avo
Both dishes were YARM! The Henry Feels had a perfect balance of parts and flavours. Iām still not sure what to think of the folded eggs though - it had an interesting rubbery texture, in a good sort of omelette way? Henryās Dream was equally good - they were very generous with their avo. Alongside a Golden Latte (Tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, chai + honey infused with milk $4.50) and an iced coffee (vanilla bean ice cream served w/ a house blend Little Marionette double espresso, honey & milk $7), it was a high quality meal, definitely worth the price!
We were greeted so politely by the waitress as we were served immediately. I came on a weekday so it was still quite busy as most of the tables were full but luckily we didnāt have to wait. The food wasnāt too bad, I would say average as portions were quite big! I throughly enjoyed the mushroom tempura chips, would definitely come back for them and Iāll definitely bring my dog along next time since they are a dog friendly cafe!
Came here for the third time the other weekend,, remains one of my favourite cafes tucked in a street 5 minute walk from Redfern Stationš
Knowing it was going to be crowded, it was a 10 minute wait and we could sit inside on the benches where we got some lovely natural sunshine.
We shared the French Toast Croissant and Shakshuka, food came out faster than we expected. All in all, always a good cafe with great ambience and amazing presentation.š
Henry Lee's is a hidden cafe found inside a building which is about a five minute walk from Redfern station, or a ten minute walk from usyd or uts. They offer a variety of savoury and sweet lunch meals, along with hot drinks ranging from hot drinks like coffee to iced drinks and tea. Most of the seating is outside which is good for photos as there is natural lighting coming in. There is also sheltering outside, so you don't have to worry about coming here to eat if its raining.
Would rate 4.5 stars if I had the option.
I absolutely adore this cafe! The staff are wonderful, are up for a chat and are very attentive. The atmosphere is wonderful and warm. The food and coffee are delicious and are presented beautifully. Highly recommend the croissant French toast if you are into a sweet breakfast/brunch. This is probably the best one I have tried in Sydney. I tell everyone about this cafe and I canāt wait to go back!
It is probably the 4th time I've come to this cafe now. And I can't believe that every time I come here, the staff are always super helpful, friendly and easy going, even when they have lines out the door. You can order a coffee and wait around if a table isn't free. The food is amazing (although the menu is super complicated and could be simplified - having said that everything I have had is brilliant) I'm just always impressed. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. Extra kudos to the wait staff just for being sweet and once one even explained the story of the art on the walls. I'll always come back.
A group of four of us Melbournians had to wait 25 mins, but it was definitely worth it .
Great variety of savoury and sweet on the menu . Coffee was excellent š. Very tasty menu.
Presentation was a big thing. The food is as good as it looks . Great outdoor space with natural light. Weāll be back . Good vibes and service
What s hidden gem . Fantastic service, fantastic food, top quality and generous servings . Definitely be back. Have found a great breakfast destination.
Great customer service. Amazing food. Pressntation as well as taste was excellent. Highly recommended. Had the stagger lee and vampires wife dish.
Everything about this place is good..
This is not the first time we came here. Service was prompt attentive. The set up was open and simple.
Our coffees were great (one of the best in Sydney imo.), well done to the barista.
Foods were well presented and tasted nice.
A bit overpriced but the whole experience was very pleasant. Will be back..
There's so many good things I could say about this cafe but let's start with finding it. Hidden off in a back street, I was surprised by the dark entryway that it would have such a clean aesthetic. The menu has a great variety, and the different lattes they offered like hibiscus (had to try this one!) were ones I'd never seen in other cafes. Despite having the wrong dish brought out, it was surprisingly good and the portions here are huge. I think I've found a new fave place to brunch at
Very trendy ambience, with beautifully presented food, and most importantly, super nice staff!! Prompt service was the highlight as the Sunday queues were crazy. The purple velvet latte was so pretty but the taste was ok, while the food was great. I had the Henry Leeās dream, and really enjoyed the light sour flavour. But my fav was the mushroom chips, which made me still thinking about it!!!!! Dog friendly, very friendly, coz of the huge space of the backyard. A sydney must go!
Food: I tried the Henry's Dream which was a colourful and tasty mess. Iced coffee was pleasant, not sweet. The apple dessert Kamikaze is something different as I am used to soft waffles.
Service: Friendly, attentive. Staff look like they're having fun (wish I could adapt that mentality). Not a long wait for food
Ambience: Spacious courtyard, good lighting for photos. I liked the music playing - a good mixtape, almost every song on my playlist
Overall: I'll be back
It is my second visit to Henry Lee's and it is still my favourite brunch place. I will always come back for the mushroom chips! It is consistently crunchy, soft and so flavoursome. This visit I tried The Proud Girl and the special with the soft shell crab (I forgot the name), and we also got the Honeycomb affogato to sip on the side. My partner and I really enjoyed the proud girl, all the flavours worked well together and it was a complete meal with strong wholesome flavours. The other dish with the soft shell crab was also good, however is more on the lighter side. It came with perfectly cooked pile of scrambled eggs, asparagus and some gourmet sausages. Every element was tasty, and I particularly liked the sausages but we also felt that the dish was still missing something and a little incomplete. I felt that it was missing some bread perhaps (though I'm only realising now that maybe they just had forgotten to plate it for us?).
The deconstructed honeycomb affogato was very nice as well.
Henry Lee's maintained good service, decent wait time and serves good food. Although a little pricey, It's a great place for brunch and accommodates a really open, courtyard dining space which radiates vibes of sunshine.
Super aesthetic environment and food. Not only this but the food tastes as good as it looks! The menu has great variety and the flavours were great.
Henry Leeās in Redfern is a stalwart in the Sydney brunch game, despite not having the same social media clout as the usual suspects in the city. Weāre here at 11.30 am on a Sunday morning, peak brunch hour (any time thatās dangerously close to ālunchā is peak brunch hour)Ā and the 40 minute wait time to prove it. The venue boasts a beautiful courtyard setting with plenty of bench space up the back, in the company of some large trees. So if youāve got time to spare, playing the waiting game isnāt really all that bad.
First of all we didnāt know about this place, it was hidden inside a building. We were there in the morning after we arrived in Sydney from Indonesia.
We love our breakfast and coffee, my waffle was excellent. Something that I never have before, it was very creative by mixing all ingredients including edible flower. My husbandās breakfast also very very good, we definitely come back to try another delicious options.
Thank you š»
This place was super hard to find- it was off Hart Lane, but Google Maps led us around the block. To be honest, we were probably just bad navigatorsā¦. Nonetheless, the casual chill vibe hit us immediately. We were led to the courtyard, which had such an amazing atmosphere. I really enjoyed this brunch place as the vibes were excellent and the place was designed terrifically.
We ordered āThe Lazarusā, āThe Proud Girlā and āLittle Henry Leeā, along with an iced coffee, purple latte and Red Velvet Latte. I ordered āThe Lazarusā, which was overall an extremely enjoyable dish. I found the bagel a little too hard, but then again most bagels are too hard in my opinion. The baby corn were charred to the perfect degree and they were extremely crunchy. I really liked the yellowtail kingfish and the egg was poached really well. This dish was plated excellently too- would definitely recommend it to someone trying out this place!
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Purple latte, which was taro flavoured. The hint of taro was subtle, but it was enough to not overpower the entire drink- a 8.5/10. The decorations on top of both coffee (with flower petals and other assorted things) made the two coffees very aesthetic, further cementing the cafĆ©ās Instagram-able accolade.
Overall, I feel like this cafĆ© is definitely one you should try if you are around the city or Redfern. The urban setting certainly complement the cafĆ©ās retro vibes!

Occupying a courtyard/atrium of a building in redfern, henryās is quite the unique venue for a cafe. Bright airy n buzzy. Yet quite shielded from the elements with high glass awnings.
Into the sea 3.5/5, miso salmon w red cabbage potato salad miso butter. Good qual salmon cut, cooked rather well, not overdone n still pink in the middle.
The rippler 3.5/5, truffled mushrooms crispy kale poached eggs bean mash on garlic sourdough. Generous serving of various mushrooms, a good veg option.
Mushroom chips 3/5, lightly battered, a nice side to munch on, wee pricey though for what it is.
The wait for food is longer than average, service quite upbeat.
What an excellent Motherās day it turned out to be with the brilliantly creative food at Henry Leeās! Every dish was delightful! And of course I ordered the one dish with truffles - my favourite! As soon as it arrived the smell sent me to heaven! And it didnāt disappoint - it tasted as good as it smelled. Thrilled I found this trendy, rustic cafe! Lovely casual ambiance and friendly, helpful staff. I have nothing to fault.
I ordered the Henry Dream which comprised of grilled sourdough with seasoned avocado, house pesto, rosemary marinated danish feta, fresh herbs, blistered vine ripened cherry tomatoes, watermelon radish, poached egg, dukkah, lemon evo.
It was a delicious and hearty dish with beautiful presentation. We visited the cafe around 12.15pm on a Saturday and waited approximately 20-25minutes for a table. The staff were lovely and gave great service. I would definitely go back here.
Love love love this place! The entrance looked like any other building along the street but really chill vibes in an industrial setting once you enter. Needless to say the food looks and tasted amazing, definitely instagram worthy. I would definitely recommend the salmon - contrast in texture, and the heaviness of the miso was well balanced by the pickles. Also, the mushroom chips are not a common side at other cafes so be sure to try it! I understand that it was busy but the staff could be more attentive.
Didn't expect to be good because the decor makes me think that it's just one of those insta cafes. However everything here I have tried are delicious. Would not hesitate to come back
This cafe is one of the most likeliest cafe to be situated in Redfern. If I had to describe the place in a few words I would say it's like an urban oasis.
The entry is on Hart st and behind some office building. The cafe reminds you of a converted garage done well. Plenty of lighting too. šš
The menu is rather creative, but not just that, it's also yummy!
I ordered their taro chai and super duper fancy pancake!
I really enjoyed the taro chai. It was subtle, then again, I wasn't too sure what to expect. The pancakes were dee-lish, really fluffy and not too sweet! Big thumbs up for that.
My friend tried their easter special drink that consists of: melted mashmellow and Persian floss and all sorts of other stuff. I must say, the drink was photogenic but I heard that it didn't taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately.
This has to be one of Sydney's most instagramable cafe. I've been back a few times, since this post has to say something.
Henry Leeās seems to be a neighbourhood go-to for those living within Redfern. Decided to drop by for brunch on a Sunday.Ā

Iād still recommend Henry Leeās for its great service and good coffee. Looking forward to trying more of their savoury options as well.
Such a cool breakfast spot! They have loud music playing and it's got quite a good vibe. The food is very instagram worthy- especially the lattes. The pink latte looked very pretty with flower petals on top. To eat, I ordered the Henry Feels which is a crab omelette. It was delicious, the flavours matched so well. Only down side was it was quite a small serving! It's a thin omelette. We also ordered the mushroom chips - which are lightly battered mushrooms served with aioli! They were really yum for something different, and helped fill me up as I was still hungry after finishing. Would definitely return!
Excellent breakfast with great coffee and awesome service. Deserves a place in my top 3 for breakfast in Sydney and a breath of fresh air in Redfern.
Second time going to Henry Leeās and I enjoyed it just as much. Unlike the first time, we were smart enough to make a booking which cut down the waiting period. I ordered the Henryās Dream (+ bacon) and an iced coffee. The Henryās Dream had all the things I could dream of: poached egg, crispy bacon, generous serving of avocado and good bread. The taste and size of the iced coffee was good too. It also had pomegranate sprinkled on top but the only criticism is that last time I ordered the exact same dish, I noticed I was given a more generous serving of pomegranate. I also recommend trying the mushroom fries. Surprisingly so good! Itās a cute outdoor cafĆ© and has sufficient shelter. As for the tables, they definitely need bigger tables to accommodate for all the food! Overall, the food is delicious and I would definitely recommend this as an aesthetic brunch spot!
A bit difficult to find given the entrance was not where the listed address was and lack of signage. It was down a quiet side alley of Hart St. inside it opens out to a courtyard. It was a hot day, so you'll have to sit in certain spots to make sure you're actually covered by the shade of the umbrella. The chairs weren't the most comfortable either. However the food made up for it, or it was 1 dish really given all 3 of us ordered the Henry Feels. A giant omelette with blue swimmer crabs served with chilli oil & toasts. The eggs were very creamy, the chilli oil wasn't spicy, but very fragrant, overall very moorish, even the toasts. The coffees, pink latte & cold brew, were ok, but not particularly special.
Gorgeous presentation, good food, cozy and cute outdoor seating, friendly staff! š· Menu is lengthy with lots of different foods and drinks to choose from
The place was super nice (for those insta brunch photos) and chilled, lots of open-air space and doggosā¦ oh the doggos šĀ
The lamb with the quinoa (health, right?) was just perfect! The blending of the subtle flavours just mixed so well together for this sweet finish. And the lamb ā for the most part ā was super soft! #hellonochewing Also, the dish was hugeeee ā so I pretty much struggled to finish it all off myself
Nice cafe tucked in an alley off Cleveland st. the drinks menu is rather interesting with different flavours like taro, pandan and lavender. Brunch menu looks unique compared to other brunch joints in Sydney. Would come back to try out different items on the menu.
The food was nice and fresh. But was waiting too long to get the table. And the atmosphere there is very nice. For the service was good too šš»
I wanted to try out this cafe mainly for the drinks, since they looked and sounded good on paper. Weather was perfect for trying out this courtyard style cafe, loved the vibes here. It wasn't really busy on a Thursday morning. Pleasantly surprised when I walked into this cafe, and to be honest, wasn't expecting it from a cafe in Redfern. It's set in a courtyard which has some covering so even when it rains, most tables won't get wet, but also has natural lighting which comes through. Although if you do sit on a table in the sun, those dots on the ceiling are going to cast heaps of 'dot' shadows over your table...
Great place, grammable trendy hip cafe tucked in a quiet alleyway that is full. Food is pretty good, I really love the Marrakech brunch (a selection of cured meats, cheese, crossaint, toast, jam, panacotta and freshly squeezed Oj) but they ran out of crossaints by 12:30pm.
The baked eggs were good, the bread served with it was crispy but a little over fried (orange and you could squeeze the oil out).
The coffee and service is great.
What great use of space at Henry Lee's. The perfect brunch spot with that beautiful natural light coming in.
Service here was friendly and attentive, but the food is obviously the stand out. Henry Lee does art meets food when it comes to presentation. I had the avo on toast with all the fun bits. Good serving size and so darn fresh. The fries are a must, standard.
Beautiful and aesthetically pleasing brunch spot. I love the art on the wall and the design of the whole cafe in general. I ordered the board, waffles, lavender latte and iced chilli Aztec chocolate. Everything was amazing, although the haloumi was very rubbery...not a fan. The board for a bit pricey for the stuff you get tbh but the waffles made up for it because it was amazing - had banana with pb!! The lavender tea latte was so good - not too sweet which is good. The chilli Aztec chocolate was surprisingly good, it had lot of ice cream in it too.
Great brunch spot! Serving size was incredibly large and filling. The dishes look and taste amazing. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have some items on the menu but overall good experience.

I wanted to check out the Instagram hype, and let me say it definitely lived up to my expectations and moreĀ š.Ā
This cafe is predominantly outdoors, but that is exactly what is so great about it! Ā Ā
There is actually a roof which shields from any bad weather but lets in all that natural light!Ā
It creates a really relaxing atmosphere, people can chill and converse over delicious food!

Love this cafe, good atmosphere, friendly staffs, great coffee and food...what else to expect?!
Love their creativity for the ingredients combination, presentation and funny dishes name to make me curious...what is that?Ā
Will definitely go back for the coffee and might wait for a new menu (new dishes) when it's available
If sipping on yummy chilli chocolates and eating dreams are your thing, then how about you take a seat in Redfern's most celebrated courtyard, Henry Lees? Perfect for a business meeting, an inspiring place to write, or taking your date for a Pink Latte
Went on a weekday around 11:30 and there was no line and were seated immediately.
Service: very friendly and helpful with what was popular
Food:
ā¢ The guilty pleasure which was Belgium waffles topped with ice cream, banana with peanut butter, strawberries, blue berries. It was on the sweeter side for sure, so good for those with a sweet tooth
ā¢ Dave Dobbyn board which had a good variety of baked eggs, poached egg, pineapple guacamole (first time having that, was good), haloumi, pita Bread, the presentation looked nice at a glance but would have preferred less little bowls.
Drinks:
ā¢ white lavender iced chocolate was a pleasant change from your normal iced chocolate
ā¢ red chai chai chai came in a little pot and strainer so you could pour as much as you wanted, while still keeping it warm.
Speed: the food came out almost instant after ordering
Atmosphere: you walk into a nice courtyard with an open roof. They had heaters on the walls so despite it being outdoors you were still warm.
Fantastic food and great service! We had a varied selection of dishes (I unfortunately donāt recall the names) that were all equally great; the standout however was the brioche that wasnāt overly sweet. The coffeeās (Long black and flat white) were both great, as was the flavoured latte. The price was reasonable with all dishes around the $20.00 mark. I highly recommend a visit!
This cafe never lets me down. We come here several times and every time we had great meal here.
We tried seasonal limited this time and the dish provided at truffle season is fascinating.
And coffee here is always nice! The seats are semi-outdoor. It is really enjoyable having brunch in a big sunny day!
Came here on a weekend, without making a booking. There was a little bit of a wait time, but the food did generally come quickly. Quite enjoyed the open garden type of area after the entrance. Food wise, great presentation and items were cooked okay. Flavour wise, a bit mixed. Wasn't really a ran of the Kewpie Roll, and the nori was too soft. The other two weren't bad though. Maybe just a preference thing. The ice coffee required a far bit of mixing before consumption. Not sure if I like that! Overall though, a nice cafe with friendly staff and positive vibes!
A very trendy brunch spot in Redfern. A lot of the dishes here have some sort of Asian/Japanese influence. The highlight was definitely the mushroom chips, crispy and flavourful. The coconut cold brew was unexpectedly nice too. The portions were huge too, very filling. However, most of the dishes were too carby and kinda bland.
Always appreciate a cafe that does seasonal menu items, there is always a new one every time we go. Really calming and comfortable ambiance š. Flavours go together well with a large range of choices.
The food over all had a great presentation. The mushroom fries were delicious, would definitely try them again! Purple latte was ok. Most of the food looked nice but lacked any taste or flavour. The man at counter was quite grump and unfriendly
