2022 Hotaru is a convenient spot for sushi train in Sydney CBD. Pricing has increased to $4.30/plate. It’s normally very busy therefore don’t forget to write your name and take the ticket number. Food is good with many options. They don’t offer pickled gingers though.
Always been a regular at this joint. Excellent customer service and can easily order the sushi from tablet device or just pick from the conveyor belt. Good size portion and fresh. My favourites are the spicy grilled salmon, spicy grilled scallop, and spicy grilled squid.
Tempura octopus was the highlight! Tender light, crispy, crunchy bite size of octopus tentacle, fried to perfections! Don’t get me wrong, I love the rest of sushi as well, especially the soft shell crab hand roll sushi and also the scampi. My meal was completed with matcha ice cream dessert.
Awesome little sushi train in the middle of Sydney's CBD. Fresh sashimi and an array of dishes made to order via the tablet on your table. Most days there will be a wait to get in but it is well worth it.

Today I ordered Scampi roll but it was very old and dry prawn so I called the waitress and asked her ‘if I order one more can I get freshly made?’ She went to talk with chef and he came to me, I said again if it possible can I get freshly made? it’s a bit too cold for me So he just made it BUT IT W
