What an amazing experience. From the monment you wall through the doors you are greeted with a warm welcome. The cocktails are to die for. The staff are all 5 star service and the food. What can one say. PERFECTION.

Beautiful food, wonderful ambiance, fantastic service. All round a classy restaurant that I’d be happy to revisit and recommend to anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Italian meal.

The atmosphere here was great, the food was excellent (so it should be for the price).  The wait staff very attentive, but when the bill came there was a "SURCHARGE" not "service charge (tip)" of $100 because we had more than 8 people.  We had 9 people of which 3 were children.  We refused to pay it.  What a cheek trying to get an extra $100 for what was already an expensive night.  So check you bill if there are more than 8 of you....don't pay the surcharge!!!!!!  And only leave a tip if you think the meal was worth it.

Classy, authentic and will visit again. Bar M had not only nice food but great atmosphere.

As an Italian, it is hard to find pasta well cooked and decent & I must say Bar M tasted great, it doesn’t reach its hype but pretty decent and great for a date night, catch up with the girls or drinks.

Bar M serves up an excellent Italian-inspired menu, set in a warehouse lit by iconic monochrome stills from film and popular culture. The evening started with some oysters in a vinaigrette which could have only been prepared by the hands of God, Baked Fig with prosciutto and Roquefort cheese sauce and Yellow Fin Tuna tartare. The menu offers a range of your more traditional and non-traditional pastas. I would recommend the Pappardelle with blue swimmer crab or the Pappardelle with Rabbit Ragú (yes, rabbit!), all washed down with a good bottle of red. The only criticism I would have is the slow service shown by the wait staff. It does get busy and it did, at times, feel like our table was being ignored. Understandably, the night was busy, but for the price we paid for each dish, it was a disappointment. Management however, were very receptive to our feedback and kindly offered to rectify the situation. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Bar M.

i have been to bar M last saturday with two friends and everything was amazing..we had a couple of entree to share and everything was delicious...prawns and calamari were sublime..as mains we had 3 pasta to share...gnocchetti with scampi(the best ever) chestnut pappardelle and risotto mushroom..i can say that was the best food i had in the last 10years..the service was good,the waitresses were nice and professional, I'll definitely come back soon to try some different pasta..

The ambiance and mood from the moment you walk in is memorable for all the right reasons. The food will not disappoint either however it is priced higher than many other venues so don’t look for a cheap night. Not a criticism just an awareness, it wouldn’t deter me returning as I thoroughly enjoyed my experience

Really enjoyed our evening, food was superb, service was excellent. A reminder for me that the better venues are often beyond the CBD, well worth the small cab fare.

As soon as you walk through the doors you just know you are in for a treat at Bar M. Being a glorified Melburnian, I guess we consider ourselves food snobs as we got it good down there but after looking over at what other guest's were eating I just wanted to devour the entire menu. We booked the 8.45pm sitting so obviously I was ravenous but felt like we missed the mad rush of the earlier evening. We were given delcious little bread rolls to start with, crispy on the outside and oh so soft on the inside - delish. To begin, we shared some of the San Daniele Prosciutto with Burrata cheese, figs and ruccola and it was SO good - that Burrata just melts in your mouth and the Prosciutto was nice and subtly salty. When it came to mains I seriously didn't know what to choose so once the others had ordered I just blurted out a pasta - didn't even remember what I ordered - but once it got to the table I think I made a great choice. My two friends ordered the Tagliatelle Summer Bolognese and the other (off the menu) a traditional Gnocci with Napoli sauce. I myself, I got the Pappardelle with Porcini Mushrooms - cooked to perfection and so nice and buttery. To accompany our meals we ordered the San Giovese which was a great drop. None of us felt like we could fit in Dessert but whatever, we are only here for the weekend. The Apple Tart / Pavlova / Chocolate Torte (special) were our desserts of choice and my only negative for the evening is that the Apple Tart felt a little crumbly and dry - still yummy - just wish I could taste the apple more. A great evening and hope to be back on our next trip!

What a space. The enormous ceiling height provides a canvas for funky B&W projections of famous people onto the ultra tall walls. Background tunes are funky, almost trance inducing.

We mistakenly arrive for the 6pm sitting. The inherent background pressure of vacating by 8pm is suffocating. Everyone is in an absolute rush. So, a simple remedy - arrive instead for cocktails at 7.30pm, in time for the 8pm sitting. The bar is functional but not awe inspiring.

The glorious 2012 Montrachet is poured into standard wine glasses, and is served way too cold. Meanwhile, our entrees arrived at the same time as our martinis. No one has any idea of what is going on. Glasses however are never empty.

The bread rolls are warm and light, and the bottle of olive oil on the table is reminiscent of a Persian souk.

The caprese salad is delightful. Freshest of fresh buffalo mozzarella, all gooey and soft, with heirloom tomatoes of various shapes. It's winter, yet the tomatoes are tasty, ripe, fresh and squishy. Wife's figs in prosciutto and Roquefort delightful.

The chestnut pappardelle with porcini is absolutely sublime. Almost breathtaking. So too the crab and Beurre Blanc pappardelle. So good.

We finish with the lightest, most delicious cannoli, with an affogato, and a marshmallow martini.

Floor staff on a double seating mission. But the kitchen knows their stuff.

Definitely a "be seen" place.

Our first time dining here and absolutely loved it! A dark and sexy warehouse style restaurant with lofty ceilings, a fabulous atmosphere, beautiful people, great service and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta dish I ordered (Tagliatelle Sciuè Sciuè, prawns, cherry tomatoes with chilli and basil) - tasty, super fresh and satisfying. The beef carpaccio was 👌🏽
Portion sizes are very generous.
Loved the cocktails too - innovative, instagram-worthy and exquisite.
Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere.

Still on a mission to eat all the pastas in Sydney, we trekked over to Bar M in Rushcutters Bay, the sister restaurant to M in the CBD. (Psst, don’t go to the wrong restaurant now heh heh) All pastas are made in house and the menu features 9 pastas to choose from or there’s a veal cutlet, spatchcock or fish of the day available if you’re not so carb inclined.

Absolutely loved our experience here.
You walk into this warehouse style restaurant with dim lighting ane high ceilings, on the walls they are showing photos from 70s and 80s through a projector. such a great concept and so entertaining.
Wine menu had such a great variety of wines on the list, staff were attentive and quality of food was amazing. I had the papardelle with slow cooked duck ragu which was easily the best I have had in so long. will definitely be back.

I had a fantastic night at Bar M. The vast space was surprisingly cosy and even on a Tuesday night there wasn't a spare table.

The team was friendly and knowledgable, the food was delicious and the wines weren't too bad either!

Half of the table had their mains served quickly and the other half had to wait quite some time, but the staff member serving us was apologetic and handled it well. I did feel that a couple more floor staff would have resulted in a smoother service.

All in all it's a great venue and I can't wait to go back.

I fell in love with Bar M the moment I stepped foot inside. The laid back, warehouse type setting, the images flashing across the walls and the bustling bar on a chilly Thursday night.

I was in awe the first 20minutes of being seated (making for very boring conversation for my partner). Ordering a Bellini and a plate of prosciutto to start, I inhaled it as soon as it landed on the table and was ready to indulge in their truffle fettuccine. For $50, I expecting it to be phenomenal, and you now what? It lived up to every ounce of expectation.

For dessert the creme brule and tiramisu were eyeing me off on the menu, so I couldn't possibly leave without giving them my undivided attention.

A fabulous experience, an expensive one, but nonetheless fabulous.

The chestnut pappardelle with porcini and madeira sauce is so, so tasty. Fantastically umami. Plus the pasta is silky. The gnocchetti with gorgonzola is pillow soft. On the desserts front, the tiramisu was a bit heavy on biscuit, not enough mascarpone. But the creme brulee was great. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back. The space is also uber cool.

Well this place is just cool. The room, the vibe, the patrons; all oozing with coolness. The pasta is made in house and you can tell. Duck ragout was my fave!

The standout highlight of the night has to be the chestnut pappardelle. It's an easy choice over the pappardelle with duck ragout. Silky wide ribbons of chestnut flour pappardelle are a sexy carriage for the incredibly fragrant porcini and madeira sauce. The sweet nuttiness of the pasta works so well with the intense mushroom sauce.

I'd return for this dish alone. And I'd eat it all by myself.

This place deserves a 4+ star rating, the food was great! Ordered the arancini (which was cooked perfectly, had a nice crunch and soft cheesy middle), the duck ragu (solidly made, wasn't over or undercooked, and the sauce tasted amazing), and the flourless chocolate cake (which was good but I liked the berry pavlova that my girlfriend ordered much better, was nice and light but still was full of flavour, tasted refreshing which is nice after heavy Italian). Service was quite attentive and polite, although may be due to it being a quiet rainy Wednesday night, the restaurant was quite quiet and not packed. Overall, would definitely come back, maybe on a busier night where the vibe of the place can really shine through, because the overall space is quite chic and aesthetic, but because it was so quiet, didn't allow us to fully see the character of the restaurant.

This restaurant is wonderful. The taste is excellent and delicious. The clean environment and delicious food becomes a heart touching atmosphere. I and my friends came here and we ate a variety of dishes and every dish great taste. Great taste with good service 👍🏼. I like this restaurant ☺️

One of the best places for fresh pasta in Sydney. Not the quietest restaurant in town so we prefer to go early and exit before the trendites arrive.
