Food was good. Waiter was smiling and friendly. Great location and vibe.
Quality of the food is always the main reason for my frequent return visits. Coffee is also perfect temperature (subjective). Staff are always in a
friendly mood and service is great.
My friend told me this is a local favorite cafe.
Ordered piccolo, and it was awesome.
Nice strong caffeine kick on my coffee.
Halloumi pumpkin and pea was interesting muffin,
Baked in house.
Chef specials are all over the wall, and there’s some interesting items on the menu too.
Had a lazy breakfast here while in Sydney for a few days. Not having good coffee experiences on previous trips to Sydney, I warned the waitress I was a Melbournite with high coffee expectations. She gave me a rather nervous laugh. The coffee arrived just as I asked for it - long black three quarters full. Nice crema not too hot, not too tepid & not bitter. My fault but I should have requested a double shot.
For brekkie I chose Mushroom toast. Sour dough spread with mushroom duxelles (a mushroom paste), topped with a melange of sautéed various mushrooms, two perfectly poached eggs sprinkled with dukkha and served with a lightly dressed salad of green sprouts, dill & enoki mushrooms. Well cooked & nicely presented but the mushrooms weren’t seasoned so their flavour fell a little flat. Otherwise most enjoyable. I thanked the barista for the nice coffee on the way out and he put his hand to his heart and sighed with relief!
I came here after playing some sport and I'd have to say it really fixed me up. There homemade sodas are so tasty and creative and the omelette of the day I had was on of the best omelettes I have ever had! We got our food quickly and the staff were nice.
Fabulous brekkie. Went for the vegetarian breakfast even though I'm a big meat eater. The food was fabulous and sitting outside on such a sunny winters morning was lovely. The lady who served us looked after us extremely well!
Tasty food, quality coffee, good service and best of all awesome Cafe tunes. Love this place, visit reguarly and have never had a bad experience.
A very warm and welcoming cafe in the inner city burbs. Friendly staff, excellent coffee & the Eggs Benny was delicious. A must if you're visiting!
A lot of my uni friends talk about going here, but very few come back to claim they've been to such a wonderful cafe! Almost hidden on a corner of a street (like a house), you need to pay close attention to the cafe location. Really quiet place for good dnms with friends, with very approachable staff.
Ordered the omelette for $17. Although leaning on the pricey side, it was really delicious (though I feel it's the quiet atmosphere that got it bonus marks). Friend got the cajun chicken sandwhich for $14. Tasted a bit, and the chicken was really succulent! Would definitely recommend people to find a day to trek to the cafe!
We went there for a breakfast. Its just around the corner of my friend's house. Nice place. I ordered a bruschetta with poached eggs and bacon. Unfortunately it came with a dill. I hate dill. Hate the smell and i said i cant eat it - she was looking at me like what i can do. She didnt even offered to change it. My friend ate that thing and i asked for scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado. She told me that smashed avocado is also has dill in it which is so stupid cause they could have give me an avocado - cause there is no dill in avocados. Anyways, it was delicious. My friend is also liked that bruschetta. Latte was delicious. Also the green tea.
Epic breakfast. Eggs done to perfection. Gorgeous mushrooms, yum bacon and super fresh bread. Staff were super lovely and service was quick. Highly recommend
We love stopping in here after a morning cycle.
The coffee is great, the staff are friendly and our breakfasts have always been perfect. I have not once left here feeling unsatisfied.
God bless the guy who served us. Made my day haha. Such friendly staff and great food! My first time trying a coconut yoghurt and surprisingly I'm obsessed! Their muesli/granola are house made and they also have cold brew. Love it's fresh sweet aroma of their coffee. Enjoyed my visit a lot :)
Great service, great food and awesome coffee.
I love the sweet potato fritters and the sweet potato fries! The savoury muffins are always amazing as well and this is one of the few places in Sydney where I'll always get two coffees.
Located on the corner of Bourke and Thurlow Streets, Redfern East , St Jude’s is filled with quirky decor and offers an interesting menu for breakfast and lunch. But it’s greatest assets are the house made condiments – the chutney and cherry jam is just so delicious. Once you experience it you just have to go back for more.
An enjoyable and unique cafe located in the residential suburb of Redfern. The exterior has a purposely run down appearance, and the interior boasts of religious ornaments and creepy looking dolls. Nevertheless, it feels rather cosy once you’re seated and soaking up the afternoon sun that beams through the large windows. The coffee is an Organic roast sourced from the Southern Highlands.
I love this place! Awesome breakfast joint. The place is cosy and homely. The decor is a little interesting to say the least. The food menu is fantastic and the food is colourful and well presented. I've never had a bland meal here. Definitely a hidden gem amongst the quiet streets of Surry Hills. Well done.
Hidden Gem in the heart of Surry Hills. In an area where cafés are a dime a dozen all trying to out do each other with the latest trends, it can be very hard to find a place with good honest food, on point coffee and a continued high standard of service.
St Jude is that hidden gem, nestled on a leafy corner on Bourke St. Great menu and quality coupled with very accommodating staff and all very reasonably priced.
The way Sydney cafés should be!
My new favourite spot.
St Jude is doing what many more popular Sydney cafes are doing right now but with far less fanfare – serving fresh food with good coffee in a space so lovely it’s better than being in your own kitchen (at least if you live in a rundown terrace like us that is).
Heavenly cafe. Tasty, fresh, perfectly cooked food, friendly, informative staff, cool vibe and decor and it's BYO - you couldn't ask for more. I want one on my street corner!
Coffee. Service. Food. These guys are the best kept secret in Sydney. Everything is immaculate.
Best Breakfast Spot- Fab Service and fresh tasty produce!. This place is an absolute gem! I try to deviate to other local breakfast spots but keep coming back, as an expat i enjoy bringing friends here when they stay and St Jude hasn't disappointed yet. The service is impeccable, all the guys have a great sense of humor and are extremely welcoming (Especially Ryan). Imaginative specials with a diverse mix of flavors which are changed weekly, fresh tasty produce and an awesome selection of cakes. I really couldn't fault it and dare someone to suggest a better poached egg!
Perfection. This place absolutely nails everything about the cafe experience.
The food is timely, so you don't feel in a rush but you're never waiting. The basics are perfect and they absolutely nail the menu. Coffee is gorgeous and after almost 2 years I've never had a bad experience there.
10/10 for everything
St Jude is my local, and I am here at least twice a week. Love the consistently high quality food even when the kitchen is under pressure with weekend brunchers lined up outside. Great coffee, lovely staff, and prompted my first ever online review. Favourites include the daily changing omelette, the fritters and the pulled pork and peas. Delighted to be here so often.
Best burger i've had in a long time!
Good breakfasts. Enjoyable breakfast (although the three of us were a bit squashed up). I ordered the eggs benedict and they were great but my dining friend ordered the corn fritters with bacon and she had so much bacon it left me with food envy.. luckily she didn't finish it all giving me the opp to have a taste.
Coffee was good too.
Busy place even on a weekday morning. But the wait was worth it with good food and decent coffee. Love the smashed avocado and corn fritters!
There are many great cafes closer to my house and without the wait to get in but I keep coming back to St Jude's for 3 reasons: the food; I love the sour cherry french toast, the service; your water glass is always full and the staff; so welcoming and friendly. Actually and 1 more thing, the prices; really reasonable, coffee and Delicious b'fast for ~$20. Can't fault this place!
Favourite breakfast location in surry hills/redfern area.
Great breaky. Love a new breaky joint and this one didnt fail to disappoint. No idea what everyone else was referring to about the staff .. found them to be very attentive and the food was delicious. had the fritters which were yummy and next time will be bakc to have their french toast. COffee was lovely too
Excellent food, always! My favourite spot for this year!
My regular cafe. Love this place consistently beautiful food and Awesome coffee. The loveliest staff in sydney :)
My new favourite brunch spot! Breakfast is served till 3pm and their menu has something to interest everyone.. I had the corn and sweet pumpkin fritters but will also be back to sample the rest. Oh and did I mention their coffee is good too!
Service was really nice, the 2 ladies working were lovely.
I enjoyed the food, but felt quite sick after. I just think there is too much sauce (or mayo?) In the lobster roll. Would not have it again unfortunately, but would come back to try the rest as menu looked great.
Staggeringly beautiful brunch in a charming setting. I'd describe the place as 'boho chic' if that is even possible to describe an eating establishment. But the food stole the show. I can personally vouch for the shroom bowl including a thyme roasted mushroom on parmesan polenta, with fried cauliflower (not oily), crispy enoki, dukka and pesto.
The best coffee in Surry Hills/Redfern/Waterloo. Great food, though only listed 1 vegan option (vegan bowl - is very good). I have asked for the tacos to be veganised & they were pretty darn great, but not listed as vegan options on the menu. One of their most recent specials (Jack of All Trades Jackfruit wrap) could also be easily veganised (& it was DELICIOUS!!)
Beautiful little cafe with a vintage vibe and amazing food. The staff is super friendly and the coffee is AMAZING.
I loved the place that little cafe. It looks different and nice. The decoration is a plus for eating here. We have bought two cubanos sandwiches and they taste great. I will definitely come back once the lockdown is finished as right now we can only to take away.
Coffee was great. They serve Rush coffee, which was great.
I ordered the Pork Hash Bennie. The pulled pork was good. The eggs were runny the way they should. I had a side of bacon that was nice and crispy… Very nice!
Great cafe with eclectic decor and varied options on the menu. Try the reuben sandwich👌
Really enjoyed this cafe for a Sunday morning breakfast! Friendly and prompt service, as well as cute decor. The fritter/halloumi wrap was delicious. Thank you for having us :)
