food is overpriced but happy hour is great!
Incredible happy hour with $7.50 frozen marg’s from 4-6pm on weekdays - there is a wide variety of flavours but we recommend the strawberry. This coupled with free nachos makes it a worthwhile stop. The free hats are a fun touch and the atmosphere is really fun. Great value for money
Had an amazing team lunch here recently. Their all-you-can-eat tacos in beef, fish, chicken and pork were well cooked, each with a different dressing and just melted in your mouth! Their churros packed a sweet crunch and were not overly sweet and easy on your taste buds. Located in a great location and had some old fashioned lively Mexican vibe!
Our new spot for wingsday! Xihuahua 🐶 and I continues our quest for the cheapest and best wings in town! You need ID to get in as the alcohol venue has tight security clearance.
Very noisy in the bar section but I found that later fueled my food rampage very well. We ordered 20 buffalo wings and a chalice of apple cider and a naked burrito. The wings got a nice dressing and a serve of aioli dip. Spicy and tangy. I find the drumettes very tough and dry, mid-wings are decently tender. They did short change us by only giving 14 wings but the staff quickly supplied the rest on request. It is very busy I get that mistake happens. The chalice contains about 500mL of sweet liquid looked quite impressive and the cider tasted sweet!
Naked burrito bowl was purely vegetarian as meat costs extra. I find it quite refreshing with the cucumber and salsa. Basically a rice salad. And finally the star of the night! All you can eat tortilla chips truck!!! You can have as much tortilla chips as you desire with salsa and cream sauce on top! Self serve style in the boot of a car! The style of presentation is amazing. The freshly cook chips are even more amazing. Crisp and moist with oil. All for free.
If you want more peace you should book early for dinning area tables. Otherwise you are left with pub section tables. Not a problem if you like pub style.
Came on a Saturday night, was expecting pretty poor service considering how busy it was but turned out to be fine. Table bookings are essential if you want to eat there, otherwise good luck. Margarita was decent, the food was fantastic but the serving size was definitely very small for the price.
Roz in Melbourne was amazing. Such great service. Thanks Roz! The food came quickly and Roz was lovely. Will definitely come back to el camino
We accidentally booked a table for Saturday instead of Friday and the assistant manager Nolene helped us out so much, sorted us with a table despite our mistake and was super friendly! amazing service, nolene needs a promotion!!
First time here, on a wednesday evening we started with a shared tap cocktail and 10c wings. That was filling and hit all the spots with it being All comforting also having that quick service. At the end we hit it with lemon tequila and burito bowl, pretty decent! overall was a nice and light at a lovable environment
Located within the Argyle building in the Rocks is the Spanish restaurant and bar, El Camino. Famous for their large margarita towers and bottomless brunches (that we learnt have since been discontinued), El Camino is a great little find for a lunch for a bigger group in my opinion. Walking in you down’t even realise how large the space actually is. The restaurant itself has a very warm color palette, with terracotta tones, and warm tiles adoring the walls. Walking in however I did find a little bit cold, perhaps because of how empty we found the place at 11:30am - yup trust me to show up to a bar that early! Nonetheless as the place started to fill up with the lunch time rush coming through, I could really feel the nice warmth of the place and I could really imagine how fun it would be in the evening.
Mmmmm... I’m not really a big fan of Mexican food but this place was pretty tasty. Came here for a staff party a while back and the food was pretty tasty and margaritas were delicious! I’d highly recommend having a margarita here.
The restaurant/bar also has a great ambience - definitely a place to catch up with a group of friends.
Ambience is good and lovely to hang out with friends and family on special occasions and to chill-out on Fridays with best friends. Been here twice with friends. This the place where I had my first lunch out in the city. Food mouth watering. Love to visit this restaurant again
Happy hour margaritas and free nachos with dipping sauces are the highlights of this place. Great venue for team event, bookings a must but there’s time limit.
To start off we had the MASSIVE 24oz margaritas which were everything i was hoping for.
The food followed which was chicken quesadilla alongside with some fish tacos. Food took a moderate time to arrive but was extremely filling and yummy. cant wait to go again for the lovely tex-mex environment
Nice ambience with great happy hours. Free dips and nachos was the highlight. Would recommend this place if you are looking for some budget place to go for talks after office hours.
I've come down to this place a few times. It's not the best, but certainly not the worst. The chicken quesadillas are nice, but the food overall is very expensive for what you get.The beer selection is limited. The giant margaritas are a nice thing to feature.
I personally find the place a bit average, but it's a nice little hidden spot in the Argyle that's very easy to miss. Servers are nice, the place is quite clean too.
GO TO HAPPY HOUR AND TACO TUESDAYS!! huge margaritas are only 7$, unlimited chips Salsa queso. Tacos are okay. My personal favorite was the pork. The chicken tacos were little dry. I really enjoyed the fajitas although a little more expensive. Huge place, great atmosphere, and great service.
This place is quite deceiving from the entrance. It looks small but it is really big inside. The place looks really cool and relaxing. The menu is in the shape of a record. The cocktails were good and the fajitas were excellent. Definitely a place to come to if in Sydney again.
Such an interesting find! The rock and roll vibe of the bar mixed with the Mexican cuisine is awesome. There's a bar portion and a sitting restaurant. Staff are great and very helpful with explaining the menu if you're like me and clueless about the cuisine. The barramundi tacos were cooked to perfection and the flavour explode in your mouth. Heads up: when they say spicy, they mean spicy 🔥. Also take advantage of their offers like buying a chalice of beer and getting 20 ghost pepper chicken wings for $2 (SCORE).
El Camino is one of my favourite Friday-after-work spots, definitely can't go wrong with $7.50 margaritas and all-you-can eat corn chips!! Despite it always being packed, service is usually quite good.
Came here for a work farewell. The margarita drinks were quite large and totally worth it! Add a few extra dollars and you get 10 wings. Not a bad deal. We also had the tacos as well. The girl that served us did get confused as to which Taco was what, as we ordered quite a few. But other than that, the food was alright.
The best place to go for Taco Tuesday! You need to ask the server which tacos are available for $2 , they will give you an option for beef, pork, chicken and vegetarian. We being vegetarians, went for vegetarian tacos and it was really good. The ambience of this place was happening and we could hear people shout from every table. The margaritas looked stunning but slightly overpriced and they also had a free tortilla chips counter which I believe to be is the highlight lol. We paid $10 for 5 tacos and some tortilla chips which I feel is a great deal.
Ok so this is one of our favourite Mexican restaurants....clean, friendly, awesome $2 taco Tuesday and half price margarita! Who could complain?!
Apparently there's been a change in the chef so a lot of changes to the menu which we weren't too happy about as some of our favourites had gone. Food is still good, just miss the favourite choices and prices have gone up. Bring back the large size quesadilla!!!!

This place has the perfect vibes and impeccable food. I loved everything about this place. The tacos were very tasty. Out of the meat selections we tried the chicken and the beef with the tortillas and they were soo delicious - I really wished Melbourne had something like this.
They also have unlimited nachos which is a plus!
Their margaritas are also strong, but good.
I definitely will return back to this place if I ever visit Sydney again.
What a great place to spend the evening with your friends, colleagues or fami- ok maybe not family. El Camino offers unlimited free corn chips n dips, delicious tacos and cheap and large margaritas during their happy hour ($7 from 5-7pm) in a lively and vibrant atmosphere. The usual menu offers classic, mango or strawberry frozen/on the rocks margaritas but they had a raspberry special on the night I went, which was a lovely surprise because the frozen raspberry margarita was delicious!

I have a special place for this place in my heart. It is one of the first restaurants that I visited in Sydney. It is located in the happy and energetic locale of The Rocks adjacent to The Argyle.
El Camino offers Mexico to you in a platter. I have had the privilege of going here during their famous "Taco Tuesdays" which actually exists.
The place is brimming with energy, great music, pretty waitresses and oodles of food and drinks.
On Tuesdays they have a free flow of fresh nachos with dip and you will eventually find your tummy stuffed with this crispy batch.
You get to choose your $2 Tacos with a soft or hard shell. Two-three of the delicious Tacos and your evening is set. I am also a huge fan of their Margarita ; all icy, flavorsome and STRONG.
They also let you soak in the Mexican vibes by letting you don their oh-so-huge hats!
Go here with your friends for a gala evening! You will not be disappointed.
Adiós
Great happy hours! Love the margaritas. Great value for money. The chips and dips are free by very oily but can't complain as it's free. The tacos were so so. But I still visit often due to their drinks offer. Remember to book a table as it's often full.
If Tex Mex is your thing then you just cannot visit Sydney without paying El Camino a visit. We booked a table for a Sat night on a recent weekend away in the big smoke. What a fun place with great friendly, efficient service. You will not leave here hungry either they serve up complimentary corn chips & dips with your meal, which are tasty & delicious. The drinks too are really strong & have a big kick. We had a rose sangria each & that is all we needed for the night!! The tacos come in the soft & or hard type & they have delicious authentic fillings.
You will get asked if you want to leave a tip which I personally find awkward. The chicken tacos are awesome!! Had a good margarita too. Busy place in the argyle. Great for a crowd dinner. Drinks are a bit pricey for what it is.
I recently had a fabulous girls dinner at El Camino. The restaurant has a really fun vibe to it - great decor and upbeat playlist. The good is basic and not the main highlight. The team was really friendly and went above and beyond to make our night fun. Great spot for a group dinner.
Moving in a completely different direction from where the delightful Ananas used to be in the Argyle, El Camino brings a fun and energetic feel to the area with it's bold TexMex food and cocktails. Big fans of this we jumped at the opportunity to try it out. Ole! Our meal started with a complementary helping of corn chip, a warm salsa and creamy avocado dip.
Fun has hit The Rocks with the opening of Tex-Mex restaurant El Camino Cantina, sitting on the old Anana’s site. If monster size frozen margaritas, free corn chips & salsa out of a Chevy boot and rock’n’roll are the most exciting things to hit your week, El Camino will become your second home.
Very good margaritas, we recommend the mango. The fajitas are flavorful and have plenty of prawns (if that's the kind you order) Ravi is an amazing server and we had an amazing time. It was a nice casual atmosphere with music and videos and yes you guessed it the back of an ElCamino with complimentary chips and salsa (the light one is HOT, don't accidentally think it's cool cucumber dip....not that I'd ever think that. 😮 🌶)
