Great breakfasts, quick and very friendly service. A good example of how the effort and variety of offers can create a pleasant ambience. We really enjoyed two weeks. We certainly recommend ):

Have my brunch time here with their popular porridge and baked chorizo paella. The food are amazing. The ambience so great as well. The drinks that I ordered the blue spirulina latte and little red riding hood juice that made from beetroot, ginger, etc.
Must try in here :)
Second visit, first review. Absolutely loved the food, was great! We loved the porridge, muesli, breakfast sandwich, omelette and baked eggs. All of us very happy with our choices, no complaints at all! Excellent service, with staff that remembered us from visiting a few days prior, even remembered our previous orders!
Super cute, great vibe and friendly staff. Surprised that this cafe wasn't busier as it is one of the best I've been to lately.
I ordered the Madhatter - salmon, eggs, seeded rye and avo - all my favourites! My friend chose the chorizo omelette - also amazing.
Food and coffee on point. Highly recommend!
We stumbled across this place as it was right outside the accommodation we were staying at. The food was delicious! I had a Wild Boar salad (with hummus, avo, cucumber, dried beetroot, tomato) and my husband had the pulled pork toastie. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were also nice. We were quite confused as to what the restaurant is actually called though, as the signs referenced "Petrel" whereas menu items and location services referenced "Petrol". Whatever it's called, go have a try!
Lovely, leafy restaurant located outside the Springfield Lodge on a quiet block of Potts Point, diagonally across the road from Harris Farm.
There's an extensive breakfast menu which saw me reverting to that old faithful, Eggs Benedict but with chorizo instead of the typical ham or smoked salmon. A delicious dish nicely complemented by a pot of ginger, hibiscus and lemongrass tea.

When having brunch, how nice is it to sit in calming surroundings, relaxing and enjoying your first and all-important cuppa of the day. Well, we did just that. Petrel Kitchen serves Australian cuisine and native foods. We ordered our coffees – Sir his usual skim flat white with one sugar and Mlady her usual weak, soy cappuccino. These were so good and we ordered large. Wow – impressively presented. The cups really were large.
We got a cute little table in the bar room (2 tables only) and had a delightful lunch. The lemony hummus with pesto was spot on and my cinnamon spiced duck salad was superb. Brilliant service (friendly, professional yet casual) and wine list.

I’m not a huge fan of the name of the restaurant as it sounds like having lunch with the smell of petroleum surrounding us but it’s the only option we’ve got. That said, Monsieur and I were pleasantly surprised. Though there was no beans, no crêpes, no beef casserole and exceptionally, a cash only policy, service was prompt and food was good.

Clever foodies park at al fresco tables overlooking the now-gentrified Springfield Mall to fuel up on the fine brunch offerings of owner/chef Clinton Whiteman (ex- Rockpool ) before visiting new neighbour Harris Farm . From a postage-stamp sized kitchen C
Came here three times and wow- delicious food. Try spicy tomato and lentil soup. Reasonably priced too. Can't wait to go back
Dinner. We went here for dinner and were thoroughly impressed.
The food was great but the stand out was the very friendly atmosphere.
We were running late about 30min and when I rang, I was told not to rush, they would have a lovely table waiting for us when we got there!
Great wine list too. Shame we couldn't manage dessert - next time.
Feels very European/Spanish. Have been for breakfast and paella which were both great. Good coffee and I quite like that you basically walk through the kitchen to get to your table. Very open and service is good. Recommended.
Very European feel cafe. Lovely service and they let my friend and I sit there for hours chatting until the vey last moment at closing time. Decently priced as well.
Best spot in Sydney. I visit Petrol most days. The food is amazing so fresh and all made to order, using organic products, you can taste the difference, and I understand you have to wait for good food, the staff are so friendly and always busy, the front deck is perfect in the sun, they have two large awnings that come out if the sun is to mush or the rain comes. It's just a great place to relax, they never ask you for the bill so you can sit, read, chat with friend, keep ordering coffee or break open the bubbles.
I so glad to have Petrol part of my daily life in Sydney
The most amazing breakfast! Check out the porridge. It's in the Top Ten in Sydney for a reason. Also the chicken and Brie croissant is a must.
Amazing moroccan food & service!! Waitress with the long dark hair was simply the best, cant praise her enough for the knowledgable recommendations and positive energy. Had the bread with dips, beef stew and another beef thing as well as the best cocktail i ever tastes (forgot the name.. Its a purple frappe thing) and the best tea ever (fields of gold). Best experience in melbourne! Made our trip :)
Delicious breaky, the porridge was amazing! Relaxed atmosphere and great spot to soak up the morning sun!
YUM YUM YUM!. Fabulous tapas like food, flavours amazing!
Fav's:
- duck salad
- choccy desserts
Fantastic service!! Funky music, beautiful outdoor seating (rug up)... we had a great night and if we lived closer, we'd be back again for sure!
Definitely go if you're thinking about it... !
Great food, bad coffee.. The menu is extensive, exciting and delicious. But every coffee I've had there has been burnt. A shame considering they're using good beans.
The food is always nice but the customer service could be better - waited 15 mins to get the attention of a member of staff to get the bill, and another 15 for them to finally return to transact payment.
Weekend Wonder. The team at Petrol never fail to please and consistently deliver a great dining experience. The french toast is a must after a big night out!
Nice little cafe in proximity of train station, service was prompt and food was quite nice, the French toast where way more interesting than my mad hatter, the coffee where nice and not too hot. Surely a cafe we'll go back to.
Wandering around looking for food on a busy Potts Point Saturday night, we came across this beautifully decorated outdoor restaurant. The setting is reminiscent of European restaurants in summer, with cushioned booths and naked dangling light bulbs.
While we were initially hesitant about the Euro-Middle Eastern-Asian fusion, we were pleasantly surprised but how well executed it was. The dumplings here are fantastic, and the accompanying sauces were well thought out. My partner's chorizo paella was delicious, as was my more adventurous salmon and seaweed risotto. The service was attentive and fast too.
My favorite local cafe. Beautiful coffee and laid back Potts Point atmosphere. Lots of eye candy so bring your Jackie O sunglasses so you don't get caught checking out the talent.
Favorite dish is the Mad Hatter Breakfast
OMG their peawn paella is Soo freaking delicious.must try !!! And that magic bulleyprobul coffee is amazing, Coconut flavor with other super food ingredients! We really enjoyed our breakfast here, owner is very attentuve.
