Great tasting food and great prices!
Such a large selection to choose from with every item looking amazing! Will be coming back here :)
My go-to city sushi lunch. Quick service, split bills, decent food, aircon. Love their sushi lunch sets as you get a good mix of everything- sushi of choice (salmon is my favourite), tempura, miso and salad for under $15! Portions smallish though so order a side as well!
I've been here several times. I've had udon, rice, grilled eel, sushi... It's all very good and reasonably priced. I like it because it's so close to Town Hall train station, it's never overly busy, and it's super casual I don't have to dress up.
This place is very very good. The sushmi is probably the best in the city (i know, big call, but it is)... It's good for both take away and eat in. I have only eaten the sushmi and sushi here and it has been great!!! Excellent value...
The first indication of quality was the music enticing customers like a "bar". The food offering was large, good usual combination of items usually found in a Korean/Japanese restaurant. Food quality wasn't as good as others I have tried. The service was excellent. Asahi on tap! Atmosphere good.
You will be surprised with the flavour, service and the price. One of the best fine dining restaurant in sydney. The atmosphere was nice too especially if you like a bar and restaurant vibe.
My girlfriend took me here for my birthday. Overall food was excellent and great service. We we served water on arrival and they are BYO which is unusual in the city. We had the large sashimi platter to start, which had salmon kingfish, scallop and tuna. The favs were definitely the kingfish and salmon. Next we had wagyu salad, highly recommended. Meat was nicely cooked, tender and good flavours in salad. Next we had the king prawn with noodle. This was also pretty good. Great central location. Will definitely go back.

Really enjoyed this little place..gave us a taste of Japanese culture.
My partner & I had 4 entrees - including the raw salmon, tofu, sushi & fried chicken.
All were fresh & delicious and were the heroes of the degustation.
The main dish was pork teryaki & rice..the serving was generous which left me unable to finish my dish.
Staff are friendly and always attending to everyone's needs. Glad we tried this place :)
One of my high school group's favourite dinner locations for meet ups. This ranks so highly because of a culmination of a lot of things. Convenient to Town Hall station, solid ambience, takes bookings, sits many people, friendly staff, relatively clean toilets, quiet area, takes split bills, solid food for quality prices. Key recommendation is the chicken katsu don for $15ish.
There is not much more to be said, but it's a quality place worth trying! :)

Had one great scoopon deal with this establishment. Food was excellent and well plated. Very friendly staff. Strongly recommended, so worth of the money!!
Bought a 9 course meal voucher for 2 for $49 and went there on a Saturday. Service is not bad, a lot of food and they are ok. Good value for money.
Went there with a "9 Course Sushi and Grill Degustation Dinner with Sake, Wine or HITE Beer for Just $49 for 2 People" scoopon voucher. Very good value. Highly recommended! Especially, the "Chicken karaage".
It is such a big and delicious meal for my family.
The foods look nice and taste yummy. Lovely dessert too. I highly recommend this restaurant for my friends.
Amazing dinner in City!
Services was great, food come out very fresh, fast and was extremely tasty. Such a little gem of a place hidden away on York street. Definitely recommend.
Redeemed a groupon voucher for the 9 course dinner and it was an absolute treat. Good location and good service. All the food served was delicious and each dish came out with perfect timing. The dessert was a winner - ice cream mochi. Would recommend.
Not bad considering we used a $49.95 9-course Groupon deal (+ additional $10 for upgrade of sushi).
Our waitress was very polite and explained that we could choose a drink and a main from the options from their Groupon menu.
Miso soup and edamame beans came out followed by a small portion of agadashi tofu. The karaage chicken was juicy and they had sweet chilli and mayo dipping sauce. The "sixth & seventh" course came out together on a plate with our additional $10 sushi. (didnt know it was 3 courses there as the portion was small). in saying that, the sashimi was fresh, and the plate combined was more than enough.
my salmon main lacked a bit of sauce but the prawns were really tasty. lastly dessert was half a green tea mochi each. they couldve given us both a full one (just for presentations' sake) but by the end of our meal we were both stuffed.
Definitely coming back here to try other dishes on their menu. Their sashimi boats looks impressive and overall their food is clean, tasty and priced fairly.
I love japanese/korean and very rarely have a terrible experience with the cuisine. This place was no exception. We got the Groupon voucher for a 9 course meal. As expected, drinks and side dishes were counted as courses. It was great for value nonetheless as alcohol is included.
The food overall was average for a japanese/korean resturant. The standout was the sashimi on rocket with Japanese cream cheese instead of feta. Fish was very fresh and the dish was innovative. All the other dishes on the menu were, as I mentioned, standard quality (not exceptional). Their karage chicken has more korean flavors if that's what you prefer.
Service was good but the venue did feel a little crowded as the night proceeded since seating were close. I wouldnt ask for more though at this price range. I would recommend trying it but there are more standout resturants around the area.
it was wonderful dinner! good food, lovely waitresses, cozy and great music! price, it is not expansive even. we will come back when we are sydney.
They say that there are over 100 words for snow in the Icelandic language. After seeing the cuteness on display at Sushi and Grill, I couldn't help but wonder how many words for cute there are in Japanese... not complaining just curious. But back to the important stuff, the food. I tried their agedashi tofu and prawn tempura hand roll, both of which were very good and reasonably priced. Agedashi tofu is one of those simple dishes that needs to be cooked perfectly and it was - crunchy on the outside, melting inside and a well flavored broth. All in all, an appealing little Japanese restaurant,.
Our favourite Sushi restaurant in Sydney. The sashimi is always perfectly cut, fresh and delicious. They can manage special orders well and the food is as expected. The hot dishes also deliver on quality and taste. Service is great and the sunken table rooms are fun for a private dining experience. We always go back.
We went here last night on a LivingSocial voucher - 9 course feed. Standout was the main dishes, teriyaki chicken and salmon, both of which were made quite spicy. I also quite liked the sushi platter - good quality and beautifully presented. The meal came with a glass of sake, and we ordered another bottle to top up supplies. Service was quick and friendly. This was overall a solid experience and we will try it again without a voucher. Thanks!
I had business lunch here today and as a veteran Japanese food consumer, I was very impressed. My selection was Tempura Udon set menu and everything was very well prepared and delivered. The sushi was fresh and sashimi tasted sublime. Tempura Prawn was crispy, had generous amount of meat and wasn't dry. The soup and sauce were spot on and surprisingly there was no trace of MSG in my taste buds. I have a feeling it'll be even better to dine with some Sake at night time. I give 5 bears for this place.

Sushi and Grill is a great Japanese restaurant where Monsieur and I head to each time we want great sushi rolls and a great value meal!Right next to the QVB, this restaurant has set menus starting from AUD10 for sushi rolls…
Needed a quick meal and they obliged very well with fast service - delicious teriyaki salmon and noodles with chicken
Nice food ~ nice people ~ L.... Nice food ~ nice people ~
Love it~~~~
Great rolls, really fresh and tasty. Their chicken katsu is good. While waiting for an order I was pleased to see a delivery guy from Claudio's Seafood at Sydney Fish markets drop off dome fresh fish. I think it's a Korean-Japanese operation and their dine-in menu tries to please everyone. Can't fault their fish it their rolls. Fave sushi place in CBD near the QVB.
Due to doing lots of different cuisines, the restaurant doesn't really specialise in any. Nevertheless, I liked it for what it was.
The sushi platter was a little small in portion size for the price..
