Review Swiss Bakerz - Sydney

Kitchen Insider
You might call me the PhD of the egg sandwich. I know, right? It's as auspicious as the cup stacking champion of Revesby. This place has been around a long while. Once famous for its custardy yummy bee stings, the weirdly misspelled bakerz is a little subdued on my Sunday arvo. The roll was excellent, and fresh as a mushroom outta cow poo. Filling spanking fresh, it really was as good as the bee sting I had there ages ago. Reliable may not always be enough to take you into a place, but if you have a need, and their open, it's safe.

Amazing good quality food, coffee and yummy sweets. Everything is freshly made at the shop... yes everything from pastries to bread to their authentic Swiss rösti! They must be doing something great as they've been here on Oxford Street for just over 10 years! Love this place!!!

I love this place. They have amazing croissants and the coffee is good too. Have the breakfast plate as it's worth the money. I'd have to say on oxford st this place is a gem. Update 31JUL16 (upgraded from 4 to 5 stars) amazing rosti burger. Worth a try. Staff are super nice. Great coffee too.

Love the Röschti - a taste of home. The brekkie is great but I do miss the old menu when the whole place felt, well, a bit more Swiss.

The bakery and breakfast treats here are addictive. Seating is tight, but so is your belt buckle after this breakfast. Awesome.

Love this place! Best coffee in the city! I'll often go out of my way just to get a coffee from this place! They also do really good warps, sandwiches and sweet treats!

small bakery with really good freshly baked bread. My fav bakery to get whole grain sourdough, 🥨 or stick 🥖 Do not recommend their coffee though.

The perfect brunch snack you can check out!!! You can dine in their small cafe or drop by to grab something small to eat!!!! It’s in the city! I got to love their hash brown dish! I can totally eat this all day everyday if I could!!!!!!!! I mean I wouldn’t be writing a review if it wasn’t good!!!!!

One of the finest bakeries I've come across.
They serve you amazing things and customize them too accordingly. You can have some most amazing things at the place.

Amazing coffee and croissant! We also tried the famous bee sting.. can’t wait to be back for some traditional swiss styled rösti brekkie here!

A little shop on Oxford Street with a display fridge at the front which captures your attention when you’re walking past with all the delicious little pastries.

Ordered a ham and cheese croissant, latte, and an apple muffin. They were all delicious. Might just be my new coffee spot when I’m around Darlinghurst :)

Convenient place in Oxford street. Coffe was ok, the chocolate flavour of the Black Forest was good but was difficult to slice to get a good eating experience.

It was our first day in Sydney. Tried out this cafe tor breakfast. Ordered pte platted breakfast consisting of potato rosti..fried egg ..sour cream ane chives...with a glass of orange juice. Costed around 10 aud. Food was freshly made and staffs were good.

Ambience is petite but I didn't expect a lot.
Since it was close to their closing time, the girl on cash register hated us even before we stepped in and that justified her rudeness.
Anyway, the items they have are worth a try. Truly savoury. The macaroons, pina Cota, florentine and Caramel piece tinkled my sweet tooth. I would go back again just to buy the caramel pie piece.

Not sure why I always thought this cafe was part of a chain - perhaps the name? On the contrary, it is an independently owned and run establishment with a lovely selection of sandwiches, savouries, pastries and rosti. Top marks for the friendly, down to earth service.

Great coffee. And the chocolate cheese cake is so good - rich, moist and textural. Easy to miss this place, it's a small hole is the wall joint on Oxford St. It's worth the stop though, that's for sure. Quiet atmosphere and friendly service.

This place is amazing, the sandwiches, sweets, coffees and savoury foods. I can't fault anything!

My top things to order are the feta and beetroot Sandwich, the Florentines, creme brulee, palmiers and the White chocolate & raspberry muffins. Everything just tastes amazing, totally do not regret putting on calories if it's associated with food from Swiss Bakerz. The shop is a little small, so when it's busy, it can get congested, but I don't blame people for lining up there to get the food.

Highly recommend this place!!!

I love their Rösti which known as Swiss' traditional dish. It's potato fritter which has texture like hashbrown. It is pretty affordable and try their Iced latte! :)
Also try their smoked salmon eggs benedict.
They sell breads and sweets which not to be missed. After all, I will come back to this place for sure :)

A very pleasant place nestled in amongst the back drop of clubs along Oxford street.

Pastry is very good and well priced, coffee is decent.

If it's one gripe I have its that after years they still
Basically have the same menu. The best re invent themselves to stay relevant. It's time to come to the future

This tiny place looks like just a cake shop, but also does great cooked dishes. There are only a few tables squashed up the back, so time your visit carefully.

Menu starts with Rosti, plain with sour cream & chives, or with various additions. I've seen people ask them to melt cheese on top of it, for the ultimate cheesy-potato comfort food. For Rosti die-hard fans, it's not as hard & crisp as the rosti at Unas; but I'm a fried potato maniac and there's no such thing as a bad rosti.

The breakfast special for $9.90 includes rosti, 1 egg, a big serve of bacon and a small fresh OJ. Best value breakfast anywhere!! At lunchtime it changes to rosti & big piece of grilled chicken for the same price.

If you're not a potato lover there's the omelette which comes with your choice of their own fresh-baked bread, try the multi-grain roll.

Bonuses: the coffee is much better than average and the staff are welcoming and helpful with, hallelujah, no trendy cafe attitude at all. If you want a see-and-be-seen glamorous dining adventure this may not be the place, but I love it here; no frills, no pretense, just straighforward homestyle food served by nice people.

This little cafe really is hidden delight, it is nice and cheap and never disappoints. Highly recommend for breakfast! Try the Rosti!

Going to admit that I did not try the Eggs Hemingway as I’m not a fan of hollandaise sauce; it’s like eggs drowning in butter. Why do I need more eggs on top of my eggs? The mayonnaise in the ciabatta was surprisingly flavoursome. Thoroughly enjoyed. It looked like a lot of food (and honestly it was) but I ended up eating all of it, after all, you know what they say about breakfast and it being the most important meal of the day! The hot chocolate was smooth. I loved the coffee as it was, but The Mister needed some extra sugar (amateur).

Love this place! Best coffee in the city! I'll often go out of my way just to get a coffee from this place!

Amazing food and staff. This place is the right for every occasion. There are just divine baked goods and also amazingly friendly staff which has become harder to find. The coffee is also some of the best coffees i have had - creamy and aromatic. My parents really love the caramel slices. For the chocolate loves, you will love the florentine which comes in dark or milk. Also, for about everyone will love the BEESTING and cheesy enough it really does sting you will all its GOODNESS. They come small and big size.

Swiss Bakerz is great, its opened till late and has seating in the back to reconnect with yourself as a lone traveller or with friends - some good old school chatter.

Had the Spanish eggs Benedict for Brekky and the beef stew for lunch both were absolutely delicious. And the coffe is as good as you'll find anywhere.

When I used to live in Darlinghurst this used to be my local cafe. They make yummy sandwiches for lunch also make fresh juices. Pretty good pastries and mini cakes. Must try bee sting and rum cake. The great thing about this cafe is they always seem to be open. They are open early in the morning and closes later than ordinary bakery/cafes in the area.

Croissant was awful for a place calling itself a European bakery. Stick to Bourke Street Bakery for tasty, properly prepared pastries.
