Pasta Emilia is by far the most authentic and best Italian food in Sydney that I've had yet! The food is so delicious, the staff is incredibly friendly, and atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. I recommend Pasta Emilia to everyone who appreciates a traditional home style Italian meal cooked with love. The duck ravioli was a stand out! We even bought a jar of chili 'peperoncino' to take home. Highly recommended - loved it!

A lot of people in this competitive world of culinary arts boast making the best pasta .. The pasta here IS in fact the best I've seen. So homemade so authentic, still carrying the granular texture of 'it's just been made outback 5minutes ago' .. an experience of soft, fleshy, juicy and rounded full flavour of house made fresh pasta .. the duck ravioli was something I'd think about having as a last meal if I was on death row .. It's all good, it all comes out with that passion and authenticity

It was a wonderful experience last night at Pasta Emilia . I am Italian and I wanted to take my friend to have a fully Italian experience here in Sydney. But what we got was incredible !! The restaurant setting, the staff cordiality, the INCREDIBLE food that the head chef Martino cooked for us, the beautiful wine and the homemade limoncello to finish !!! We will come back and I highly recommend the restaurant to everybody!!

I've found my pasta place in Sydney!! Handmade on the premises, organic, tasty and made with love. An authentic Emilia Romagna osteria in the heart of Sydney. Great ambience and attention to detail. Can't wait to go back and taste Anna's delicious food again and enjoy the warmth of this amazing place.

I wanted to try this place for a long time because it reminds me a genuine Italian restaurant.
We made a booking but in the place where we were sitting we didn’t have much space and we were sitting one next to the other, facing the window.
We started with a caprese and then we ordered pumpkin and spinach ricotta tortelli served with truffle cream sauce and wild game tortelli with tomato and basil sauce. Portions are not big but they were both good. The one with pumpkin and spinach was just a bit too salty.
I think I had too high expectations, there is not much difference between those tortelli and the fresh ones I make at home, but I’m sure everybody likes them.
What I really enjoyed here are the desserts. We have been lucky because a waiter made a mistake with our order, so we had an extra dessert for free. That made me very happy because I like tasting different things and all of 3 desserts were really good.
We spent almost 4 hours there talking, the atmosphere was comfortable and even the service was good.
Prices are slightly higher than other restaurants.
They also sell their own products like pasta, tortelli, tomato sauces, cheeses.

We came here for lunch and had a lovely time. Really like the decor and the homely feel which gave it a relaxing atmosphere. The fact that they were hosting classes at the back told you how serious about their pasta they were, but also gave the place a great community feel. We had the potato and truffle tortelli, the wild game pappardelle and the burrata - loved every bite!

Had a lovely experience here a few months ago. Food was great and amazing service from the owner/staff. One of our wines tasted a bit off (possibly due to being preservative free) and the owner kindly changed it for us free of charge. The portions were not big, unlike Italian, but the flavours are definitely there. Great for vegetarians!

I dined here on a Thursday night and used a TheFork redemption voucher i had. We ordered the potato and truffle ravioli, spinach and ricotta ravioli and tuna tartare. The food was delicious and you could tell a lot of care went into their preparation. Unfortunately the waitress mixed up our plates when they were served at the table so my friend and i ended up eating what the other had ordered. Overall, Pasta Emilia has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff are friendly and food is great!

“We should go together one night to Pasta Emilia. I think her pasta is the best in town, organic Italian flour and the best eggs available,” said my mate Jason Moss, a popular Darlinghurst jeweller. I didn’t need much cajoling. My last experience with purchasing Pasta Emilia linguini from Iggy’s Bread in Bronte had resulted in a bowl of pasta so good, I went back to buy more pasta the very next week only to be thwarted by an empty fridge shelf. What I didn’t find out until later, was that Jason had a connection to owner Anna Maria Eoclidi that would afford me the opportunity to hear the story behind her successful pasta operation… Swathed in yellow light, the Riley Street warehouse is home to a pasta kitchen, cooking school, shop and restaurant. With exposed rafters and communal wooden tables decorated with fresh flowers, the long convivial space has the orderly clutter of a lived-in rural kitchen. Neat rows of pickle jars line...

Hidden gem in Surry Hills, never thought to look this end of town for Italian/pasta. We ordered the Tagliatelle and the ravioli. The pasta is organic and cooked very well, the sauce was top notch with just the right amount of flavors. The dessert wasn't too bad, but after a pasta it could've probably passed on. Overall a nice little Italian restaurant.

I had lunch here the other day and found the food pretty good and tasty. The sizing of the food was great, I didn't finish it all. Surry Hills is hard to find good pasta I've tried a few. Service wasn't bad either.

As I walked into Surry Hills based restaurant, I felt like I was entering a remote little town of Italy. The family orientated and rustic decorated restaurant felt very comforting. I peek through the restaurant and notice a pasta making class taking place. No cooking for me today though, I'm here to dine in the restaurant. For full review including photos, go to the blog post

Pasta Emilia, traditional Italian in the heart of Surry Hills. We would describe it as Italian rustic, a large space for guests to dine, pasta making out the back and a gourmet store downstairs for street access. . Owner Anna Maria hails from Italy herself, from the Emilia Romagna region. She and her husband have significant experience in the restaurant industry, in Italy, Bronte and now, Surry Hills.

Pasta Emilia is alittle hard to spot as it is on the corner of the street and there were no big signs so you may easily walk past it without even realising. The interior design is very traditional and it gives off an authentic Italian rustic vibe which I'm totally digging.

I ordered the beetroot ravioli with kale and salsa verde which in my opinion was amazingly delicious. The amount of saltiness was just right and the salsa verde was not too oily and complimented the beetroot pasta beautifully. It felt like pasta heaven in my mouth.

My friend ordered the strozzapreti with beef ragu which was also tasty however; it was definitely more on the oily side as we could see alot of oil at the bottom of the plate and the mince was on the sweeter side which I don't mind but others might not like that. Pasta was cooked al dente though!

You can also buy their pasta and jars of homemade sauce but I didn't get a chance to buy any. I really should when I return since I need to get my hands on the amazing salsa verde sauce.

When you walk into Pasta Emilia, you feel immediately transported to a rustic italian kitchen. The hosts are welcoming and attentive to your every need. We started off with a mixed board comprising of olives, ricotta and pecorino cheeses, fried zucchini and roasted eggplant. There is a lot going on the board but the focus is the 36 month old pecorino, which was sharp but soft in texture. The ricotta was very subtle and soft as well.

Its all about the pasta at Emilia's! We ordered the duck and truffle tortelli with herbed butter, tagliolini with crab, butter and fennel and the prawn and zucchini risotto. My favourite was the crab tagliolini. Fresh chunks of crab, incredibly fresh al dente pasta, lightly seasoned, overall a pasta dish that isn't too heavy. However, the fennel was lost in the dish. The risotto had a light hint of lemon and the texture was perfect, creamy with a slight bite. The dish was a tad too salty and I would have preferred if larger prawns were used for this dish as I felt the prawns were lost in the dish. Duck and truffle tortelli was a bit disappointing for me. This is a flavour combination that generally goes perfect. The exterior tortelli shell was fabulous but the duck filling was dry and the truffle aroma was too slight.

Pasta emilia is quite original and has a strong focus on organic produce which is reflected in the fresh and natural flavours of the dishes. The quality is definitely there.

Great pasta place with a casual, homely ambiance. The pasta is handmade and every dish feels like it was lovingly cooked. Only the dessert wasn't a huge standout for me.

There aren’t many things in this life better than good Italian food, and Pasta Emilia sure has stolen my heart. Situated conveniently on Riley Street, Surry Hills, Pasta Emilia is a gorgeous setup serving up traditional Italian pastas with organic ingredients. Arriving for late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant is quiet – but not the type of quiet that we don’t like. The charm and rustic feel of the interiors once you walk through the doors definitely has me swept off my feet. Mismatched, coloured wooden chairs, communal tables and bar stools lining up against the windows makes dining in large groups or alone indifferent.

Pros: Delicious handmade pasta. Casual cozy restaurant in a convenient location, one street away from Crown street, but without the hustle bustle of it. I can find parking on a sat night 7pm. Can you believe it? The tortellini was recommended and we weren't disappointed. I love the chewy texture of handmade pasta and the sauce was very yummy too! The trout salad was great. Fresh ingredients and tasty. The staff was very friendly, the meals were delivered timely and service was good! They have pasta and pasta sauces that you can buy home. They even have pasta making class for people wants to make yummy pastas like they do. What a lovely one-stop shop for pasta lover, recommended for pasta lovers.Cons: It's a bit pricy to go regularly.

Delicious Pasta! Had the Strozzapreti with beef ragu & parmesan, the strozzapreti pasta itself had a nice flavour and cooked al dente. The sauce was a little watery, but the tomato flavour complements well. My dish was a bit lacking in beef, however my friend's plate had plenty of it, so a bit inconsistent. My other friend had the pasta special with mushroom which was equally delicious. The atmosphere was very relax. the decor was casual & homey with big wooden tables on one side and the place decorated with plants and produce in jars along the walls. The service is a bit slow, but still quite friendly. Overall, a nice lunch for the weekend.

Pasta Emilia.

Walking into Pasta Emilia, you are immediately greeted by the warm rustic feel of the restaurant. We were led to our table for 5 by a cheeky Italian and though table was large enough for the group, it was a bit snug against the wall.

Firstly, the wine. We chose a bottle of Lambrusco (frizzante) and were perplexed when five small bowls were placed on our table. It was explained (by our very pleasant Florence waitress) that this type of wine is traditionally served in bowls. So it was poured and while I enjoyed the sweet, slightly fizzy wine, it wasn't to everyone's taste.

Now the food. I ordered an aracini ball to share as a starter, the infamous duck and truffle tortellini in a butter sage sauce and we had some baked vegetables to share. The pasta was beautifully made and cooked with just enough bite. The duck and truffle filling was delicious and with the slightest hint of truffle. My only criticism is that the serving of 8 tortellinis is a touch too small for the $30 price tag. Had I'd known, I would have ordered an extra salad to share. My companions all orders pasta (two tortellinis of the day with a truffle cream sauce, one crab and ricotta tortellini and a strozzapretti with beef ragu) and though there were not complaints, the tortellini of the day didn't blow their socks off.

We didn't have dessert, but stayed for another 20 minutes or so. The waiters didn't seemed to mind, kept pouring the water and left us to chat away.

As we were leaving, I noticed the fridges filled with pasta tortellinis packed and ready to purchase. I made a mental note to come back for some takeaway tortellini next time I'm in need of a pasta fix.

Overall, a pleasant meal and service with a smile.

There are tortellis, the most striking of which to me are those with duck and truffle fillings; that with porcini mushrooms; and the combinations of pumpkin and Morstada .  I am not so much a fan of ravioli and lasagne , but the range of tortelli is diverse and unique here that I was immediately drawn to the stall of Pasta Emilia at the Eveleigh Street Farmers markets in Redfern, inner Sydney CBD,   This offers a glimpse into not only spelt and gluten free freshly made pasta, but also into sauces like Noce Blu and truffle cream and the granishing of Sicilian marinated olives. The pans were out in front of me and the creativity of making delicate tortelli was displayed for me, meshed in with engaging conversation by the two hipster guys manning the markets outlet.  My eyes also wandered around the ingredients, cooked stuff and jars of sauces surrounding them.  Everything had quality and hints of being lovingly made.  It was  still a cool winter's day and we all appreciated the warmth of

It used to be a molasses factory. Nowadays it's home to Pasta Emilia, a family-run business specialising in organic pasta and sauces that first opened in Bronte in 2004. The converted warehouse is the perfect setting for its bustling cafe, set up like an Italian dining hall with high ceilings, communal tables and bentwood chairs.

Beautiful hand made pasta!. Visited recently for Saturday lunch. Slightly pricey but I suppose that's justified for handmade pasta. Absolutely delicious !
Service was a little slow, but a large table of 10 people was present with only one wait staff. The ambient and rustic feel of the restaurant is very charming and particularly suitable for an Italian venue.

Homemade pasta fresh everyday, casual, homely, unpretentious but super tasty food that feels like you've stepped into an Italian nonna's home for dinner. Also had the bruschetta with juicy fresh tomatoes, perfectly seasoned. Tried their special of the day pumpkin ricotta tortellini, YUMMM! Reasonably priced wine too, think they allow Byo. Highly recommended.

Excellent artisan pasta in a homely setting. I had the bolognese ragu. The sauce was much lighter than I expected but the pasta was al dente. I like their take home packs. My favourite is the salmon ravioli. The tomato and basil sauce is the best.

Thoroughly enjoyable pasta-making experience. The owner is approachable and fun; our class, who struggled and eventually succeeded in making linguine, angel hair spaghetti, and ravioli, was rewarded with the most delicious brunch and takeaway souvenirs. Unforgettable flavor and a memorable time. Highly recommended.

Really cozy and cute restaurant with a vibe that will remind you of holidays in Europe. All the decor says "I found my way here over the last 15 odd years". The music, plants and candles add a nice touch to the ambience of the place. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into this place. The menu has a lot of quality items on there using ingredients like truffle, porcini, prosciutto etc etc. It was tough to decide for a dish. The lady sold us the special starter which was a triple cream brie with a truffle layer, pear, honey and bread. Delicious ! All of us loved the dishes we received. One thing we noticed was that the service needs a little touch up. Our waiter was friendly but seemed a little clueless and ordered the wrong starter. I believe he wasn't 100% familiar with the menue items yet. We wished there would have been follow up on how the dishes were received as we would have definitely passed our compliments to the kitchen. Everyone was satisfied though the portion sizes could have been a tad bigger. The bill for 3 people came to $200. 1 starter, 2 wines, 3 mains and 2 desserts to share. Upscale prices for upscale food. Would definitely come back. :) We also saw there is a little deli in the back :)
