We were stressing to find a booking on a very busy Saturday night. We called the restaurant and from the time Michael answered the phone to our greeting when we arrived the service was outstanding. Incredibly friendly and full of energy. The food was delicious. We were attended to promptly. Our group chose the grilled lamb set menu, the seafood for two and dishes off the menu. We were given great suggestions for wine and cocktails. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming.

A beautiful location, with delicious food and fantastic service.
We ordered the mezze banquet which was affordable, with generous portion sizes, along with 1/2 a dozen oysters.
The best Sydney restaurant!

Umut is a treasure, be sure to treat him well, as he made our experience a great one. Give the handsome man a promotion, even after his first day! That’s how good he made our night. Anyway, the food is well done, and wines are delicious. Great night all round!

Had work Christmas party here and we went with the set menu. There was were 4 different types of entree and quite filling. Mains were kingfish, lamb shoulder and pot prawns. Kingfish was delicious and the lamb shoulder looked really tender. I had the baklava which was different from what I had before and not as syrupy, a but dry and the pudding with granite better as per others. Plenty of seating but booking is recommended.

Food and service was pretty good. They were out of octopus, but we did get there late. Only detriment really are the exorbitant tourist prices, but that is par for the course in this area.

If you want to wait an hour for cold, overpriced food then Georges is your place. Very disappointing experience, see the image attached for my $23 Salmon & Egg Benedict - Cold, uncooked muffin; two shreds of salmon; hard boiled egg; and sauce (the hashbrowns cost extra too but were literally the best thing on the plate)... Would not recommend this place

Delicious food is offered at Georges. Great service, very friendly staff. Thanks for the experience.

Had the lamb shoulder. Amazing, was actually lamb, not a mature sheep cut. Extremely well cooked. Made be want to go to Greece to find more.
Wait staff were amazing. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and did all sorts of cool things with the final bill for a bunch of corporate credit card carrying types who needed to split the bill. Highly highly recommended and will return when back in Sydney Town.

The food is ok, but nothing special however if you want service, go somewhere else. Maybe they don’t like people who dine on their own? Well when I am back in Sydney with my family I will go somewhere else.

Had a very relaxing & enjoyable lunch with my family. Food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Worth a visit.

I had the slow roasted Greek lamb with oregano potatoes. Amazing, best lamb I've ever had by far. We had a group booking of 20 on November 20th and everyone went home satisfied. Excellent and professional service as well. Thank You.

Long wait for meals to be served. The main meals were brought out separately and were inconsistent and poor with what would be described as entree size servings. First main was the grilled scallops which was served 20minutes before the next main of the King Prawn Saganaki, which was cold and had to be returned to the kitchen. The remaining 2 mains were served 10minutes later with the “reheated” prawns which were still cold. One of the other mains was the Mussels and at least half of these were inedible as they were dead. The shells were closed or only open a very slight amount. To the waiters credit, he apologised and removed the charges from the bill and we were provided with baklava and pistachio creme brûlée to make up for it but the the layer of sugar on the brûlée was very thick making it hard to get into the cold dessert. Overall a very disappointing meal of what was supposed to be a celebratory meal. Ended up getting pizza delivered when we returned home. Wait staff were great.

In Short: Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill located in King St Wharf is your destination for a Greek cuisine experience. Try a mezze with kataifi mastica cream with fresh fig and candied pistachios and wash it down with a cocktail and you will depart feeling very satisfied. We have had the opportunity to dine at a number of quality Italian restaurants over the past 18 months. Restaurants like Cucinetta and Entrata quickly spring to mind. Now, it is time to sample that other great ancient Mediterranean cuisine that is Greek cuisine. It was our first visit to Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill at King St Wharf, and only our second Greek meal of the year.
The RnB Diary
Georges Mediterranean Bar & Grill brings both the ambience and flavours of al fresco Greek dining to Sydney’s Darling Harbour. Bag yourself an armchair overlooking the water and wile away a few hours people-watching and enjoying some of the finest Hellenic food that the city has to offer.

Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill transforms from a dinner destination to a cafe in the morning. We came for the breakfast menu on a Sunday and got to try what King Street Wharf offers for the early risers.
Snapshots Of Food
Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill is located on the beautiful King Street Wharf with plenty of outdoor seating options; we enjoyed the afternoon watching the waves and relaxing in their comfortable seats. Georges Mediterranean offers great great Greek food from slow-cooked meat to fresh seafood and plenty of starter and mezze options. We tried a couple items from the starter and mezze as well as main menu; lamb souvlaki, king prawns, deep fried squid, beef kefta and melitzanosalata.
Mwaeats
It's on the wharf at Barangaroo. We tried the steak, lamb, barramundi and 2 starters. The starters were average, nothing special to note. One of the starters was fried calamari and zucchini. The zucchini was so thin that it felt like eating a slice of fried batter, the calamari was made well that it wasn't too chewy. The fish of the day was barramundi, it was made well with a crispy skin and the fish was tender. The steak was very average. The lamb was not made well, the lamb had the overpowering gamey smell and taste that turned us off from wanting more. We were asked if we would like dessert and when we said no, there was a scoff. Did not have a pleasant experience, and unfortunately will not be coming back.

We ordered a bunch of starters like the garlic bread, prawns, the filo pastry with spinach and feta etc. A lot of bottles of wine and cocktails and some straight drinks. <br/>The vibe was fantastic, the service very polite and patient. However the food was just all-right. <br/>

Friendly staff, obviously a prime location and decent food. It's been a few weeks since I was here so I can't give a detailed review, but I can at least recommend it based on these things :)
A Guide For Your Appetite
Review #2<br/>So visited this restaurant again after many years. <br/>The service was very professional and friendly. The waiters were prompt to take orders and bring the food. Atmosphere was terrific and did not have any issues.<br/><br/>Now the food.... Man oh Man. Still the same as my previous review. Nothing exciting...We ordered the Seafood Platter for two which was $75. I love my platters and often splurge on a platter every now and then. I was so very disappointed when I go this. The platter was not for two more like for 1.5 persons. The salmon had a very oily residue, the Octopus was Chewy and the Calamari, cold and was like eating a elastic / rubber band.<br/><br/>The hot chips were nice but I though it was a platter for two..... The quantity of the hot chips is what a mother would feed her baby.<br/>The Salad!!! Is the chef joking???? really? the chef needs to be taught or maybe shown TWO adults. My wife had the salad which was finished in about 4 bites. Literally!!!<br/><br/>If you are going to have a restaurant at a premium, please hire a premium chef. I understand I only paid $75 for the platter and perhaps for $75 that is all you get but at least make the quality of the food worth $75. I often pay upwards of $125 and a few times $175 for a platter for two and the quality has been spot on perfect. People would be happy to pay that much if they know the experience of dining at the restaurant would be a good memorable experience.<br/><br/>Took me a few years to return to this restaurant..... hmmmmm would I go back after a few years????? <br/><br/>Review #1 <br/> Nothing you can't make on your own.....<br/><br/>We visited this restaurant as a friends catch up. The layout and atmosphere was great, the service was good and the waiters were friendly.<br/><br/>The food..... Well we had souvlaki and wow.... It was disappointing. I've had souvlaki plates at non greek restaurants and it tasted better.<br/><br/>Perhaps it might have been the meal we chose that made me give this a average ratings.... I did see a lot of other families enjoying themselves.

Good location at King Street Wharf but the service and food are just a little bit off the mark. An enjoyable evening, but needs to lift its game to compete with other restaurants in the area.

Went here for dinner while we were visiting Sydney. Just snuck in at the end of happy hour for a mojito. It wasn't sweet at all and wasn't pleasant. We had the mezze banquet for 2. The food kept coming and it was amazing. The squid was tender and lovely. It was all very enjoyable. The service was friendly and pretty prompt.

Great restaurant in king street wharf. The restaurant is relaxing and open with very attentive customer service. I highly recommend the Greek style lamb and the lamb ribs.
NatashaK
They advertise themselves as authentic Greek cuisine however what they serve is far from it. Aside from a really nice location and modern decore, this restaurant doesnt really have much going for it. It's expensive and has below average customer service. <br/>Probably won't dine here again in the near future with so many other great restaurant options available in the vicinity.

Excellent location at darling harbour and great target for the non-regular customers & tourists without booking. 1.5 month prior booked for 6pm party, next to raining surfaced venue at front door wasn't ready at 5:30pm aren't good enough. My colleague served us wine not venue staff. The quality they offered easily able to be prepared with mid-range supermarket supply include cheap cheese at students home party. The king size prawns were beatiful so the hot food quality & chef may be excellent, yet customer service.<br/>

This place has a great view and a pretty good concept. <br/><br/>That's where it ends. Whilst the waitstaff appeared frequently and took orders, there were some clear communication issues - for example, when I ordered one of the two steaks on the menu without onion or garlic, and the waitress said "Onion and garlic" and appeared to write something on her notepad, and then other steak from the menu arrived (complete with garlic covered beans). When I asked them to take it away, they looked confused. The next steak that arrived was clearly rushed through the kitchen, as it was definitely not cooked enough to be considered medium rare and the chips were still pale and undercooked. <br/><br/>There wasn't an apology from the waitstaff about the mix-up. <br/><br/>That being said, everyone else's food arrived at the same time, the drinks arrived promptly and the others enjoyed them.

Steak was over cooked I asked for medium rare and salty food and very oily. Badly seasoned. I would never come back here again. The service was slow and waiters were less than helpful<br/><br/>

George's Mediterranean Bar and Grill is a greek restaurant situated on the waterfront of King St Wharf Darling Harbour. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant has a large alfresco dining area and also has indoor seating. We were greeted by the friendly waitstaff who provided us with great service throughout the meal. They were attentive without being OTT; They ensured our water glass was filled, also checking to see how we were going with the meal and if we needed anything. <br/>The drinks menu was varied with cocktails, a range of wines including wines of Greek origin. There were also a number of beers to choose from, with a number of Greek beers listed. They also had a nice selection of spirits including some good whisky.<br/>As we were at a Greek restaurant I was looking foward to eating some lamb, as the Greeks know how to cook their lamb. Our meal choice was made easier with a lamb set menu option for $45pp. The set menu came with a number of delicious starters including the haloumi with watermelon and mint, tender salt and pepper squid and and some nice creamy taramasalata as well as a basket of bread to help you mop it up. <br/>The lamb was fall off the bone with very nice garlic and lemon flavour and was served with roast potatoes. This also came with a side of fresh greek salad. The set menu was great value, so much food.<br/>This restaurant is in a great location and they serve quality Greek food.

We had dinner here through Dimmi's promotion last week, Firstly the staffs were friendly and the services were great. Food was delicious, I have not tried much Mediterrians foods, but the pork belly were fantastic. The slow cook goat was okay could not complain, the lamb saluki was nice also. The food was fresh and tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

Try to avoid this place if possible.<br/><br/>Food is bland and service is poor. Even found a strand of hair in the slow cook goat. The wait staff was not apologetic at all and just took the dish back to the kitchen. Another wait staff asked how was everything when she came to clear the table and when we told her about the hair in the food, she just walked off. At the end of the meal, we were slapped with a 8% service charge. The menu only state that group with more than 8 person will have the service charge incurred. However, there were only 4 of us. dont mind paying the service charge but if the service is bad, I don't see a point of paying it. <br/>
Jelak Not
Bad experience!! I had the slow-cooked goat which came with a strand of hair embedded in the meat. The hair was discovered after 80% of the plate was consumed. We told the waitress who very simply apologised with a 'Sorry', removed the plate with the meat and hair, and never returned to follow up with the incident. The floor manager didn't even come to apologise and make up for it. When the table was cleared, another waitress asked how was the meal, we told them everything was fine except there was a hair in the meat. She did not apologise, just smiled and walked off. Then the bill came with an 8% Service Charge on food and beverages! Very ridiculous. There was also a 1.1% surcharge on credit card added to the bill before they even clarify if we were going to pay with card. At the bottom of the restaurant menu, it says 'On group booking of 12 people and above, 8% service charges apply on top of your food and beverages spend.' There were only 4 of us, we were still charged 8%. When asked, the waitress said 8% is charged at ALL TIMES regardless of number of patrons. Clearly, they need to revise their menu and stop deceiving their customers. Bad place to be and food wasn't even authentic.

A SURPRISINGLY LOVELY MEAL. LOVELY STAFF. George's Mediterranean Bar and Grill is located on King St Wharf and has a great view. George's Mediterranean Bar is a Modern Australian and Greek restaurant. I'm enjoying a casual drink as I look at the view on a Friday evening.

They say it authentic Greek food.. However I don't think so. The food is terrible and the service isn't any better. I wouldn't go back ever again.

This place was terrible!!! Service was great though. Ordered 3 Mezze dishes as its a sharing type restaurant, one Haloumi dish for $14.50 and got 2 little pieces, then lamb ribs for $16.50 that apparently were marinated in honey and almond sauce, they had no flavour!! And salt and pepper squid which were the tiniest of pieces. We then ordered one Souvlaki plate with 8 pieces of lamb and pita bread, the lamb were about 6-8cm long!! Not to mention it was $28.50!!! Not very impressed and do not recommend it at all. Will definitely not be back!!!

Ok, Darling Harbour is tourist town. This place probably seats 300+, which is an issue on a Thursday night. Probably 50 people spread out. I rang them to try and get another glass of wine, no luck.<br/><br/>Good Greek menu, will try the mezze if I go back with a group. Wine list by the glass is horrible, but some nice choices by the bottle. Beer list is crap, but it is a Greek restaurant.<br/><br/>Goat was really good, orza salad not my thing, pita was nice. Sauvignon Blanc awful.<br/><br/>The "maître de" was pretty good about my petty complaints.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We had a $50 voucher and everything we ordered was jacked up by $2 - like seriously $7 for a coke? Normally writing food reviews is my job, but this was my day off and i was super disappointed. the portions of the food was smaller then my palm. Your paying for location

One of the first things that strikes you at King Street Wharf are the magnificent water views and Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill is in prime position to absorb this.<br/><br/>There is inside and outdoor seating and we were very fortunate to be seated outside to be able to take in their beautiful views.<br/>The weather was glorious which added to the visually appealing landscape of looking out at Darling Harbour and the Maritime museum. Georges Mediterranean Bar and Grill is a great place to sit and eat and watch the world go by! <br/><br/>We both started with a glass of Stonefish Merlot - which displayed juicy plums with earthy overtones. This was a lovely wine and complimented our meal nicely.

Had dinner at George's on Friday night. We had some fantastic service from one of the managers who introduced us to this delicious Greek Rose. The Tarama was absolutely delicious. I could eat a whole bowl. The food was fresh and tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

I was lucky enough to catch up with an old friend this weekend. It’s been way too long and much has changed in our lives, and yet it was like nothing had changed. We decided King St Wharf would be a good place to go and chose George’s as it seemed nice and respectably priced. As always the view was fab and the menu wasn’t bad to chose from at all. We just decided to get some mezze to share and ended up with three.

Came here on a trip to Sydney in January.<br/> <br/>I had ordered the picked octopus which was delicious and my favourite dish of the evening. For main I had ordered the Greek style goat which was very tender. However, found the dish a bit on the sweet side, especially with the orzo side.<br/><br/>George's is on the pricey side, however would not come back due to okay quality of food, as well as the pricing.

Excellent service, 11 / 10. Food was lovely. Came here on holiday, found out about the restaurant on Groupon and glad with the choice. Will visit again next time we're visiting Sydney.
Comment Mike
Well the wine was okay .... Service was basic but fine with no notable errors but nothing to rave either. The food was average to poor. I'm probably not the best judge of Greek food but the Slovaki was dry however the pita bread was very nice. The duck kefta was excellent but the rest ..... a bit average. All in all not a disaster but not a great night food wise either. Location is naturally excellent.

Went there last night for the third time, the food is always fantastic. Service is always very good and the location is perfect. Try the Lamb or Goat. Really though, we have yet to eat anything here that wasn't delicious. The wines are also very nice especially the 2012 Nemea.
Sean
Very good hospitality. We were there as a small group and they were always there if we needed anything. The food was great especially the calamari
A Food Fable
This restaurant serves small portions at expensive prices. The recommended lamb shoulder was really small for the price you pay - I really do not recommend it. The calamari was also a bit cold and was a handful size but cost almost $20. We even used the Entertainment Card and it still felt overpriced for what we got. We also got charged an extra $8 for a "service charge", which didn't seem to be disclosed beforehand. The menu mentions a service charge where its for large groups, but we were a table for two, so were quite confused about it but decided not to query it and just left.<br/><br/>We left the night rather disappointed and commenting that we would definitely not return here. It is a bit unfortunate as I'd been here once beforehand and thought it was ok.

Grilled whole baby snapper with Zucchini and green beans, $30. The ‘baby’ snapper was definitely not baby sized at all, I’m super happy that it was fairly big and did a good job at filling me up. It was grilled but the skin was still really soft, I would’ve preferred it to be crispier but still very satisfied with it. The inside was cooked perfectly but eating it was so annoying and tedious! There were too many tiny bones and scales weren’t removed off the skin properly. I should’ve thought of this before I ordered it because I spent a solid hour or so trying to eat this without choking on any bones. I did enjoy this overall, but I’ll definitely reconsider my choices in food when I’m famished coz I was way too hungry to have any time to carefully pick through fish bones and scales. The fish was accompanied by lemon olive oil, it would’ve been good if they had some sort of dipping sauce with this as it lacked in flavor. Fish was fairly fresh, didn’t taste like old frozen stuff at all. D

We got the market fresh fish of the day, which was Barramundi and trout (if i remember correctly) served with either Grilled eggplant & zucchini salad with latholemono or House made chips, preserved lemon & oregano mayonnaise. So, we just got one each. They were pretty good- the fish was really tender.

In April, George’s Mediterranean Bar & Grill at King Street Wharf opened up their restaurant to 2012 My Kitchen Rules contestants, siblings Steve & Helen, who hosted a magnificent Greek feast! This was a four course meal featuring custom made dishes from Steve & Helen, along with some favourites off George’s menu, to celebrate the Greek Festival of Sydney, and it was definitely an unforgettable celebration. Melizanosalata & Revithosalata with Grilled Pita Bread The night kicks off with some warm pita bread which is accompanied by melizanosalata (eggplant dip) and revithosalata (chickpea dip). The eggplant dip is my favourite as it is rich and full of flavour, going very well with the pita bread. The chickpea dip is also quite tasty, it’s like a lighter version of creamy hummus, and isn’t too heavy despite containing chickpeas. So ft grilled haloumi with Home made tomato jam Next up is the grilled haloumi served with Steve’s tomato jam which he says is a secret family recipe. The haloum

George’s Mediterranean Bar & Grill is one of several Gold Card restaurants on the King Street wharf. It was pretty quiet at Georges on a Wednesday night, but the service was good and we really enjoyed the meal.

Being able to peruse a restaurant’s menu before you even get there is, I think, both pretty awesome and terrible. Awesome because you get all hyped up with what you’re going to eat and terrible because a) you can’t wait to try that enticing dish or b) you

Awesome food. Went on a Tuesday night with a Groupon voucher (entrees and mains). This was one of the best meals I've had out in a long time. Stuffed Calarami was brilliant and the wrapped prawns were great too. But the melt-in-your-mouth goat was definitely the highlight (spit roasted Lamb a close second!). Service was no-fuss and efficient. <br/><br/>Would definitely recommend this place for an honest, hearty and unpretentious meal.

An enjoyable experience. We went there for dinner on 29 Dec earlier in the week and had a good time. We used a groupon voucher for the entree and dessert. The entrees included pastrt wrapped king prawns with aoli, and grilled calamari stuffed with prawns and octopus. Both dishes were delicious and filling, the only thing that could be improved was if we could taste and see the grilled aspect of the calamari. A charcoal grilled calamari would be so delicious. For the mains, we ordered a snapper dish and goat dish. I really enjoyed the fish but less the goat as the goat maybe an aquired taste. Throughout the evening, the staff were really friendly and attentive. Overall we had an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful!!. Great service with amazing food. Wait staff are willing to assist with selecting a dish. Cocktails are worth it! Thank you for a great night!!

Banquet is a rip off.. Last night I paid $45 per head for my wife and I to participate in the 'banquet' on a table of over a dozen people. Don't bother with the 'banquet', in fact go somewhere else. Before the main arrived we had a small zuchini fritter each, a small saucer of olives, a small bowl of taramasolata, an apertiser size plate of calamari, about a breadroll's worth of sourdough and all this to share between three to five people. The main was lamb with three pieces of potato. The food was enjoyable but anybody expecting a true banquet will be very disapointed. We will not be going back.

Had a quick dinner Friday night. Had the barramundi special and the slow cooked Greek lamb. Both were tasty. Service was good.

Amazing!. We had an incredible meal with amazing service. Great location down on the King Street Wharf, really gorgeous views. Could not have asked for a better evening!

Belly Dancer!. We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Outside was a bit cold but heating was good and loved the views There was a hens night on at the time which was action packed including two dancers, one of which was a belly dancer. The lamb and fish dishes were very delicious Will be back !

Just had the 8 dish lounge banquet at George's mediteranean bar and grill. The food was excellent. Particularly the king prawns wrapped in kataifi pastry! Excellent and happy waiters. Very enjoyable evening :)

Unpleasant. Went for dinner tonight. My partner and I ordered the souvlaki (his chicken, mine lamb). We asked for 12 chicken and 8 lamb but received both 8 (although charged for the larger meal). Food was poor at best, the lamb was dry and chewy and we got about 1 tablespoon of tzatziki per meal so finished dinner with a case of hiccups, the meal was so dry. Outdoor area was freezing and we requested the heater be put on that was next to us, but the waiter never returned. Left a poor taste in my mouth, literally. Will not be going back.

Ripoff 'banquet' - TERRIBLE value. "TERRIBLE"<br/>I ordered a 'banquet' meal for 8-people to the total value of $310 and we were given each:<br/>1 x bite size kofta, 1 x spanakopita, 1 x chicken skewer, 1 x glass of wine, 1 piece of octopus (overcooked, chewy and not edible), 1 bowl of olives with 10 olives in total (shared for the group), 2 x fetta cheese the size of 5cm x 5cm (shared for the group).<br/>They initially told us more food was to come out, then after 10mins they said no more food was coming.. <br/>I confronted the owner telling him that the quantity they brought out was a joke. All he could say was 'that is what is included in the 'banquet' and I can't do anything'. He was not helpful, nor interested. I had a party of 8 guests, 2 that were interstate. It was an embarrassing night that we had to purchase more food on top of what we already paid for. Never going back there again!

Groupon for the lounge banquet...sooooo good!. My boyfriend and I had a gorgeous night here last weekend. We had a groupon which included a lounge banquet for two and a glass of wine each. The house wine wasn't amazing, but it was quite good. In saying that, neither of us are avid wine drinkers. The service was just lovely. The cocktails were to die for. The food itself was a great deal ($40 for the two of us). The kind prawns wrapped in pastry were so beautiful, succulent and fresh. The warm fetta was my boyfriend's favourite: it was creamy and good quality. The spanakopitas were wonderful, as were the souvlaki chicken skewers. The pita bread with which they came seemed house made, and were that perfect balance of soft but not soggy. The lamb kefta were also beautiful. Oh and so were the olives, again great quality. The one flaw was the octopus. Neither of us overly like octopus so we are not the best judges but it was extremely chewy which only solidified our dislike. The flavour was there though. Overall fantastic value. We probably wouldn't pay the full price of $30 each for it, but that's because we are a bit stingy and it didn't include dessert.

Not happy. Went here for Valentines day this year. Was told prior, over the phone that the menu would be like a normal menu but when we got there it was a set menu at 60 bucks per head. Entree was nice. Mains weren't even cooked. Had a tasteless lamb with soggy potatoes that were supposed to be roasted. For dessert between two we had a slice of cake that was 'complementary'. Not impressed at all and won't be going back.

Disappointing experience. Visited just this weekend. The restaurant recently ran an offer on Groupon, a "Greek Feast". Sounded pretty good so we purchased the vouchers. That's when the trouble began.<br/><br/>We called the number listed and asked for a reservation. They said they were full. We tried other weekends stretching all the way from this past weekend through to the end of the voucher period. All were "full". It was suggested to us that we come on a weekday, like a Monday. No good to us.<br/><br/>Then we realised the phone number listed on the Groupon was different to the one listed on the restaurant's website, so we gave that number a go. Got through and asked for a table for our preferred date, answer was "no problems!" By the time we told them we had a Groupon it was too late for them to retract the offer.<br/><br/>FOOD AND DRINK: Now, on to the restaurant itself. Service was ok, friendly staff although a bit new and not too sure of what they were doing. Location is ok, although it is down towards the far end of the wharf so a bit of a walk. Food was tasty and there was enough, all the dishes noted on the voucher were included. A full drinks menu was available with both local and imported drinks at a variety of price points. There should be something to please everyone.<br/><br/>However, this reasonable experience at the restaurant itself was soured by the troubles we had to go through to book. The restaurant is large and despite being told they were "fully booked", it was no more than 20% full. Virtually empty really. We were lied to. I suspect they probably have this additional phone extension set up especially for purposes like this, they can easily see it's a voucher customer calling and trick them into choosing a different time.<br/><br/>Sure, if you don't want Groupon customers coming in on your good nights that's fine, but then you need to put in the conditions that those days are not included! (and I have checked the conditions multiple times, absolutely no mention of it). Besides, when you can only fill the restaurant up to 20% in late November on a Saturday night, it really shouldn't matter if the customer is on a voucher or not, you should just be happy to have customers at all.<br/><br/>The original purpose of these group deals was that you would give customers a discount, let them enjoy it and get them to come back and pay full price next time. When we bought our voucher this was our intention, try them out and if they were good, we were sure to return. After our experience, under no circumstances would we return. It seems nowadays, many restaurants view these group vouchers as a quick way to get a bit of money in their dying days.<br/><br/>Not just because of the voucher experience, but at full price, there are better options for your money.

I went to Georges with a living social voucher i had recieved as a gift. The staff were amazing and very attentitive to our needs always coming and checking on us and topping up water and asking when we wuld like our next dish served as we had a 7 course meal. Everything was perfect and they even offered us a container to take home most of our main meals in as we couldnt eat it all (so much food!!) i will be going back to georges

Disgraceful restaurant, served eaten food!. A group of us dined here for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was barely 1/3 full, there was more than enough waiters working and the service, although friendly, was extremely slow. We had to ask every time we wanted to order drinks and once we ordered food there was quite a long wait for it to arrive.<br/><br/>My husband ordered the lamb skewers and just as he finished off the first skewer the waiter came running over and snatched the plate out from under him saying there had been a mistake. He walked the plate straight out to the kitchen and no sooner got through the kitchen door, turned around and brought the plate back out... to the other end of the table, with the one eaten skewer and all!! Apparently these were the pork skewers (hubby thought they tasted funny but he'll eat anything). Something was said to the waiter and they were again taken away and a 'fresh' serving was brought out. <br/><br/>This is absolutely disgraceful, and I'm sure it's probably against the law to serve eaten food. The manager on duty didn't even bother to come over and apologise, and with a $700+ bill at the end of lunch, they didn't even take the price of the meal off!<br/><br/>Absolutely would not ever, ever return to this restaurant.

GOING DOWN HILL. I went here many years ago and enjoyed one of the best steaks i had ever had, however i went there last night and was VERY dissapointed.<br/><br/>Firstly the service is poor, staff are not friendly and seem not interested and very dull in there service... no smiles.. just really doing there job and bare minimum.. i also ordered two sides and asked they come before the meal.. however everything came at the exact same time.. i told the waitress.. she dismissed it and just served it all without even an apology.<br/><br/>I had seasonal vegetables.. it was just a bowl of Brocoli and Zucchini.. I also ordered their Angus steak and asked it be Medium Rare.. when it came out.. it had NO blood.. and was grey wit just a small amount of pink... i asked the waiter how he thought it was cooked and he just asked me.. "how did you ask for it to be" i told him medium rare and he said yeah i agree it is medium rare.. however it was clearly not and was over cooked, i ate on .. i was never asked how the meal was.. the steak was VERY bland.. boring.. and for $33 i expect a bit more! the guy new nothing about wine choices and left it to me to decide without any recommendations...they only had 5 mains to choose from.. the rest are Entrees and with such poor service, it was clear why there was only about 10 tables seated on a saturday night. <br/><br/>VERY poor restaurant.. only the view is decent.. staff are VERY poor.. prices are high.. seats are cheap annd plastic if you sit outside.. service is non existant and food came no where near salaving this poor excuse for a restaurant.. last time i eat at GEORGES GRILL

Rude service, entertainment card not honoured. The service is very rude, we were totally ignored when we walked in at around 11.50 for lunch. The place is empty, lunch time hasn't started, that's all understandable, but there were 3-4 people working at the bar and the register and no one even bothered to tell us that they're not open yet. They saw us, and then looked away, carry on chit-chatting with each other. The meal was a bit small leaving us hungry but tastes okay. The service is just terrible though. Plates were "dumped" at our table and the waitress appear angry/disgusted knowing that we're not having any wines for lunch. From the start to the end we see no smile at all from any one serving there including the manager. Then when we show the entertainment card, they refuse to honour the terms as set out in the book - 1 card between 2 people. For our group the manager would only take 1 card and take the cheapest main off our total bill. It came as quite a surprise to us as our group has been enjoying entertainment book restaurants for a long time and has never been in a situation like this. The manager then said "Well, there's nothing I can do about it but you can come back next time as I haven't scratched the number off." Sure non of us will be going back!

Cannot recommend George's Bar & Grill at King St Wharf highly enough. A couple of weeks ago we arranged a lunch for 25 family and friends at Georges Bar & Grill at King Street Wharf. The food was absolutely fantastic, the service friendly and prompt and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. George was the perfect host and Olivia, the senior sales consultant, was very helpful and professional. Strongly recommend for any celebration.

Very delicious. Perfectly cooked fish paired beautifully with the Greek garlic mashed potato. Couldn't fault it

Still hungry. I can't review this restaurant as I had to leave without ordering. On 19/5 I went for lunch with a group of colleagues. They all wanted the set Mezze menu and I wanted to order a-la-carte. Despite their website claiming that "Versatility is the key, and at Georges we understand that every dining experience has unique requirements" they said that I could only order a-la-carte if I also paid for the Mezze menu as all of my colleagues were ordering the Mezze menu. As I was going to order the Barramundi I would have had to pay $34 for the Barramundi and another $24 for a Mezze that I didn't want. I think that $58 for fish and chips is a little steep so I left. Guess that they aren't so versatile after all but it certainly was a unique dining experience.

Really enjoyed the meal here on a not so busy sat night. The mezze plates would have been enough. Went on the entertainment card and it was great value, excellent staff service and terrific lounge area. Get the home made bread with babaganoush, ! Deserts were terrific. Steaks was so so and not their signature dish. Overall 7/10

Lovely food, attentive service and a lounge bar area where you can still smoke! Thanks

Good food and good service. Like the option of half bottles of wine. Range of dishes to suit everyone.
