Really awesome French cafe. We regularly go for lunch and the filo pastry chicken and tarragon pie is to die for. They also have a wonderful dinner menu with lots of traditional favourites. Laid back vibe - definitely more a cafe than a restaurant. Covered outdoor area is nice, although but can be a bit hot during the day in summer. Always friendly service.
It's still my favourite cafe in Surry Hills. The peaceful atmosphere in the courtyard, the friendly staff and the extremely reasonable prices are three good reasons for making this my favourite cafe. However the mouthwatering meals made with fresh ingredients are the main reason I I'm now a frequent visitor. And whenever I feel like adding something else to the designated menu, Dominique has no problems. Perhaps because I ask politely.
Staff here, from the owner down, are great at making you feel welcome at this small and unpretentious Crown Street eatery. And the food is not too bad either: An adventurously textured and tasty mushroom risotto for me. A delicious grilled salmon dish for my companion. Poached pear and seasonal fuits dessert: excellent!
Great ambience, lovely authentic french dishes & excellent wine! The waiters and head chef go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal. If you want a slice of France without paying the price of a plane ticket to Paris this is the place for you :)
Finally a French restaurant in Sydney that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and gives us an authentic experience!! I had the beef bourguignon which was amazing and we sat at the terrace at the back. The staff is very friendly. All in all a new favorite! Thanks.
