Review Acre Eatery - Sydney

Just a lovely, lovely local venue. I'm so glad lots of people don't know about it but desperately want it to be a success for the owners as well so it's both difficult and gratifying to write this review! We had a group of 30 come for drinks and nibbles on Mother's Day. The Yard was absolutely packed and the music was pumping... the place was a downright vibe. Zuzanna had organised our tables like a pro and was just the kindest most accomodating manager ever. Charley, also another favourite, was extremely patient and professional in the lead up to our arrival and did all she could to help. The owner was a real gentleman and again was kind and friendly and made sure guests were very well looked after. Our food came in 15mins or less, the drinks were delish and none of our group had a problem with the prices.. in fact, most of the them hadnt been here before and swore to come back often, as we are all local. As a business owner, i can see nothing but opportunities here to open it right up as a massive beer garden, focus on drinks + music and just a few good eats. We need good, local, outdoor venues to unwind and this is one of the best. Thank you!!!

I don't really want to make this review because I would love to keep this to myself and family and friends, but it is really such a beautiful establishment. Amazing food. Lovely staff. Beautiful area... It really is such a relaxing place to hang out

We had a birthday gathering of 30 in The Yard for my sons birthday and it was a perfect day! The food was delicious and staff were attentive and caring. The atmosphere was relaxed and charming.. thank you!!

Absolutely terrible food at high-end prices... Was shocked as the grounds and set up is so nice and the place (under different management) was great a few years ago. We politely told the wait staff about the issues and got a shoulder shrug in response. Very disappointing.

Awesome spot on sunny weekend day. Great live music. Really good food at decent prices. Ordered the bbq platter for 2 and it was loads of food for 2 people.

I love love love this place. Great atmosphere, delicious food & fabulous service. The food is fresh & what can be sourced from the garden is. Great drinks options: cocktails, organic wines & non alcoholic yummies! Coffee is always good. Would visit every day if I could!!

This has been a surprise find and a wonderful one. This is a inner city farm and green space that has a great cafe. The coffee is great (although order a strong one) and the breakfast was excellent. This is the best granola I have had in Sydney. It’s a wonderful and peaceful family and dog friendly space. Its surprising to find such a nice green space so close to the city and parallel to Parramatta road. We need more of these spaces around Sydney. The service is prompt but on street parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Plus there is a chicken coop for the kids to see some chickens. That’s a plus.

Surprising find in Camperdown. Nice chilled out atmosphere, with a nice outdoor setting and nice live music. A great place to just chill out and relax on a weekend afternoon.

Guys, just back from having breakfast with you on Sunday morning, thought I'd give you some feedback. First, the pluses: great setting, got an outside table on the grass with no waiting (which is something given it was a Sunday morning and the number of people who were there) and a good Virgin Bloody Mary...but the food, my god. The backstory: our kids were still at separate sleepovers so my partner and I were taking the opportunity for a rare child-free breakfast which made our disappointment all the more significant. I ordered the homemade baked beans with an extra sausage, two poached eggs and sourdough. The beans were like bullets and the sauce they were in was watery and weak. The poached eggs were cold, the sausage - clearly pre-cooked - looked tired and was lukewarm inside. The sourdough toast was burnt, and with no butter offered on the plate, was like eating a sheet of cardboard. My partner ordered what was described on the menu as a 'mushroom bake' but in reality was pretty much just mushrooms on toast. Nothing wrong with the latter, if that's what you want to order, but would be nice for the menu to be a little less ambiguous. Because of the way you order your meal at the counter, take a number to your table, etc, there aren't many wait staff on the floor, so it was useless trying to attract attention to complain. We just had to suck it up and deal with it. Both of us left most of our food uneaten on the plate. Overall, a really sub-par meal. I would have given two stars - given the sunny outlook and a solid virgin mary - but that would mean I'd be giving you a 'Fair' and it was anything but.

Fabulous place, food, staff, ambience all 5 stars, I definitely will be back! True gem in the heart of the city, so happy we have found it. A must visit for anyone they cater for all, vegan, veggie and meat lovers.

On arrival there was no one to greet us or explain the seating, we seated ourselves and I hunted down some menus, only to find breakfast finished in five minutes. As instructed (once I found someone to ask) we rushed to place our breakfast order - quite simple order but this took at least 10 minutes, I had to repeat it a few times. The food came out within two minutes - this can’t be good, and it wasn’t. Looking at my friends breakfasts they looked like they were cooked hours ago and re plated - i dodged that bullet by ordering yoghurt bowl (average) all the ‘cooked’ breakfasts were left half eaten. Thought I could salvage the experience with espresso martini’s - no such luck - one was all espresso the other was mostly foam. The two stars is for the gardens... that’s it - very kid friendly it seems (they were everywhere) maybe that’s why they serve up pre cooked, cold, overpriced food. Usually you can find one nice staff member, all were rude and unhelpful - could’ve been language barrier... I was expecting it to be staffed by locals but seemed most were on a working permit, totally disinterested in any customer service. Kudos to the barista, the coffee was great.

The setting is beautiful. Farm and restaurant in the middle of the suburbs. There is definitely a wow factor after you walk in from the street to the very green space. Large windows make it feel like you are sitting outside with views of the gardens from every table. We ordered scallops and ocean trout for entree, pumpkin risotto and steak for main and shared panna cotta for dessert. All beautifully presented and very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and she suggested great wine to match our food. All around a great experience and we will be back. Thank you!

We had a birthday lunch yesterday with my family.the food was amazing and plentiful. The lamb platter with the vegetables was top quality!!! Best we have had! The cake topped it all! Thanks for the great food and service

We had lunch here for my daughters birthday! Everything we ordered was spot on, great tasty food! Seated inside the restaurant on a Saturday it was a bit too noisy and loud. We could hardly hear each other. Waitstaff we're quick and friendly. It got busier after an hour and ordering tea and dessert took awhile so we cancelled. Overall, we loved the experience and will definitely come back.

Beautiful place on a sunny day. Friendly service. However, definitely don't go for the set menu. Trust me, you will pay $35 dollars and walk away disappointed with half empty stomach. We were a table of 20+ people and we ALL agreed it was a total rip off. Plates designed to be shared between 5-7 people. Seriously? Will not be an option next time.

As a parent and foodie, this has become my happy place! 3yo runs around like a crazy person whilst I cheer her on from the comfort of my desk chair, rosè and arancini balls! Not cheap but worth the splurge!

Went to the Acre Eatery last night expecting that I would be well catered for as a vegetarian given that there is a great organic vegie garden out the front. Menu is short but really, only one vegetarian main meal which was...pumpkin risotto. If that is the most creative vegetarian dish the kitchen can think of, it is a huge fail from me. The risotto wasn't bad, wasn't fantastic either and was not cheap. Very disappointing.

It started out well and we had arrived early for our Mother's Day lunch and were seated straight away. We had ordered and everything came out straight away...up until dessert. We ordered and waited for at least 20 mins before our coffee came out which were a little cold and waited thinking dessert was shortly to follow. It didn't come out and this was by now a little over 30mins after we had ordered. Our initial waitress was nowhere to be seen after she had told us 3 times and apologised about the wait. One of the times we were told that the kitchens had a changeover so thats why there was a delay. We then had to approach another waitress as we could not see our initial waitress and tell her that we would like to cancel it as it had taken too long for dessert to come out. She had come out but did not approach us to tell us the status of dessert. In the end our dessert was cancelled and coffees were given to us for free but that has left a little sour after taste. Changeover or not, that should not have to impede your service. Frankly, my family and I were enjoying it up until dessert took well over 30mins and seeing others who had come after us leave well before us. I don't think I'll be coming back, nor will my family either.

The place was pumping! Super busy! Weddings, families...it was all happening! The staff were super friendly and had great humour amongst all the go, go, go which made for a very relaxed and enjoyable lunch for my family. We shared the lamb, it was perfect. Service was fast. We were expecting to wait but didn't at all. Thanks for the great experience Acre. Love the whole philosophy. Pinched some ideas for our Chook pen too 😜

Had a great lunch at Acre Eatery. We sat outside overlooking the gardens. I had a Cranberry, Grain, Ricotta and rocket salad with a boiled egg. It was delicious. Followed it up with a sour cherry cheesecake and a chai latte - also delicious. Te service was great. Acre Eatery is a lovely place to go for a casual lunch

I've been at Acre Eatery twice and it was a great experience both times: Great menu, excellent service, professional staff and the ground and amenity is welcoming and relaxing. Also "very clean" giving it's an open venue with large outdoor areas. However, in my opinion, it is a tiny bit on the expensive side compared to similar venues and offerings in Sydney.
