Amazing sushi. Very high quality for a reasonable price point. For 88 dollars you're getting something better then what I've paid for double in the past elsewhere.
Great for traditional Japanese food. Their lunch menu is good value for money - so make sure you make a reservation because it’s usually busy. Service is great too.
A very authentic Japanese restaurant, very sophisticated and reminded me of Japan. I really liked the seared sushi assortment and assorted sashimi. Terriyaki salmon (not pictured) was too sweet and a little over cooked. Quite expensive to dine in for Japanese food
Amazing sushi!! The omakase experience transcended my already high expectations. Accompanied with the ambience of the interior and the friendly, yet professional service, this restaurant deserves the highest praise.
Probably one of Sydney's more authentic Japanese "kaiseki" experiences...if you can't fly to japan for the weekend spending a few hours here can kinda do the trick...well expect English isn't as spoken over there - "minor details"...
While admit I was wow-ed the first time we went here for years ago...each visit has made the allure wane...as it's good but not that good #firstworldproblems
This Japanese place offers privacy and a setting for a more formal lunch. I had a special lunch set. I ordered grilled oysters, teriyaki chicken and salmon sashimi.
I probably would not go back for the grilled oysters. I like mine fresh and simple whereas these oysters were covered in mayo and grilled. The teriyaki chicken was a bit pink, probably from a blood vessel rather than undercooking, but I'd rather not eat pink chicken if I can help it.
We had a special occasion this week and decided to have a nice dinner at Kabuki Shoroku Japanese restaurant in Sydney CBD. Their restaurant had an old feel to it (according to them, they have been around for 25 years!). We chose to have their degustation menu called Kaiseki – autumn. It was priced at $88 per person. It is predominantly seafood dishes, highlighted by lobsters cooked in two ways.
You know you had a very nice dinner when you left the restaurant feeling nourished and happy. That’s how we felt upon leaving Kabuki Shoroku. Their service was impeccable.
Very good customer service. Fresh sashimi and sushi rice was just perfect. Bento lunch has a great variety too. This place never disappoints!

Came here for business lunch during lunch hour, are they busy? Nah, packed is more like it, not a single empty table. Thanks to the lady out front, she managed to magically organise an empty table for us. Well actually, she had to carry a few chairs from sakuratei (which has the same owner) across to kabuki.
They have different combos such as bento boxes, tempura, sushi, sashimi, udon and such for lunch. Portions are on the small side, prices range anywhere from $25-40 for most combos/sets. What you get is quality from the sashimi bar and the kitchen. I couldnt snap any pics.. well there is just this sneaky shot of mixed tempura.
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant, food is authentic Japanese and also customer services are top grade, friendly and polite. The taste of food is great and their sushi is one of the best in town. Highly recommended !
Smart, but not too over the top. A good place to take a client for a casual catchup. Nice service by geisha girls adds to the Japanese charm of the place.
Sushi, teriyaki, miso and the tempura are nothing to write home about, but satisfying, and given the atmosphere, great value for money.

Today, I went to this place for my best friend's birthday and it was a decent dining experience.
My first impression of the restaurant was very positive as the staff were extremely warm and caring, and the ambiance was immediately evoking a traditional Japanese restaurant setting.
As for the food, I found the dishes to be quite expensive and the portion sizes were not as liberal compared to other Japanese restaurants. Albeit, the quality of the food was top-notch and I guess it rationalises the premium pricing. We ordered many different dishes like sashimi, sushi, and some mains. Udon was the clear winner out of all the items.
Oh and one really good thing about this place is that the parking is free after 6pm which is a real bonus in the CBD.
One of my favourites, would return when I can.
The hot pots are really amazing here. Try the salmon one (they give you a huge portion of salmon) or the kimchi one (we had both). So delicious!! The inside out sushi rolls are also well balanced. Dessert platter is a winner.
Authentic Japanese food! Delicious food, great atmosphere, clean, top quality and would highly recommend to anyone interested in a true Japanese meal! The winter special (8 course meal) is absolutely to die for! Amazing, please go!
Usually come here for their hotpots and sake. Love the oyster or seafood hotpot. Overall this place isn't cheap but it's always nice and quiet.
In a quiet arcade between Clarence and Kent Streets, pass through traditional noren into a very zen garden with stepping stones amid pebbles on the ground, into the restaurant where you'll likely be greeted by a kimono-clad waitress. Entrance to Kabuki Shoroku, off Clarence Street, Sydney She leads us to seats at the sushi bar with an elegant deferential air, while the busy sushi chef welcomes us with a smile and â irrashaimase â. Handed menus, we agree that sushi and sashimi are a must, especially from our prime vantage point, so we simply ask the chef for sashimi to start. Sashimi (l-r, salmon, kingfish, tuna) He sets us each up with wooden stands on the sushi bar itself and proceeds to slice thick pieces of salmon, then tuna and kingfish; depositing each pile of fish on the stand after slicing. The fish
Freaking Amazing!. This is, hands down, the most authentic and best Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Having just come back from a trip to Japan, stepping into Kabuki felt like I was back there! It was dark and cozy and warm, and the staff were dressed in very traditional Japanese dress and were so so lovely. We ordered SO MUCH FOOD because everything looked so good! We got: Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Agedashi Tofu, Matsu Deluxe Sushi Assortment, Teriyaki Salmon and Wagyu Sukiyaki (made in front of us! Those noodles!!). Holy crap so much food. And we freaking smashed it all! The Sushi was pretty pricey ($65) but well WELL worth it - best sushi outside of Japan! We had to be rolled out, but holy bajoley - AMAZING! I cannot wait to go back and eat everything! Again!!
Authentic Japanese. I have found this to be the most traditional Japanese restaurant I have ever dined at, in terms of the menu offerings. I find manyJapanese restaurants in Sydney are Korean or Chinese owned and only serve standard dishes like sushi, tempura, donburi, and ramen etc. If you want to try more different Japanese foods, then Kabuki Shoroku is the place to go.
I thought the servings were a little small for the price we were paying, so it is not really good value for money, but good for special occasions. The standard of the food was very good though, and my companions and I were all extremely satisfied with the dishes we had ordered (sukiyaki, sushi & sashimi, tuna with natto) except for the beef tataki which tasted like it had just been taken out of the freezer. The bill came to about $220 for the 3 of us, and we all left feeling very satisfied and full.
Service was impeccable, and the interior decor of the restaurant was also nice.
I've been going to Kabuki several times a week for many months since I started working in the area. The equal best Japanese I have found in the city (I rank it equal with Azuma, my previous favourite Japanese).
So glad to have a quality restaurant this end of the city. Thank you.
Lunch special is reasonably priced considering you get 3 choices. Have also been for dinner and loved it. The blue swimmer crab miso soup, soft shell crab, grilled scallops and hot rock wagyu were amazing. Great atmosphere, beautiful presentation and very fresh food
This is a fantastic little place. Lunch special was delicious, huge and cheap. Service is good.
One of the best Japanese experiences I've had. The food was simple and incredibly delicate with huge flavour. I have given 4 stars but they would have received 5 if the drinks menu was a bit better. I will be going again soon!
Absolutely phenomenal. Service: 10/10; Atmosphere: 10/10; quality of food: 100/10; taste of food: simply spectacular. Nothing from our menu lack in anything. Thank you to all Kabuki personnel
Loved the food, but portions were a bit too small. Left still hungry afterwards. Customer service was also fantastic and it really made the dining experience a notch above other Japanese Restaurants.
Value for money authentic menu. Nice ambience and friendly staff . I tried the sashimi degustation and each dish was generous in serving Will be back
Been here a few times already. Love the food. We ordered 3 different course menu.
Amazing food delivered right on time (ordered from website). Serving size, quality, prices were perfect. Everything was super delicious, especially the A5 Wagyu Shabu shabu and Otoro sashimi. Reminded us of the food we had in Japan ❤️ Thank you so much!!
Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a special treat in lockdown :)
First meal out after lockdown and it was well worth it. We'd booked for the Gindara course. The food was delicious and was a satisfying amount. The service was super friendly. Couldn't fault it at all. Thank you!
Great restaurant with excellent seafood. The sashimi is really really good and the chef has good cuts of food. I preferred the sashimi dish.
