Staff were very attentive. Greeted immediately and trolleys came around the moment we were seated. Portions were good. $180 for 3 women who ate quite a bit.
Decent variety of different kinds of dishes. However the waiters are way too pushy and try to place the plates of food on your table even when you don’t want them...
Great yum cha in town. My Cantonese friends told me that this one is quite similar to their flavour in canton. Very popular at peak hours
It’s old fashion yum cha as ladies walking around with food trolly. Don’t expect too much services tho
Came here for a la carte dinner. It's a Saturday night but it was a little quiet, perfect for us to talk with friends and hear each other.
Really liked the golden prawns (prawns coated in salted egg yolk and butter), very high in calorie but quite well done. Also like the ginger fried rice, it's not bland and the rice didn't stick together.
The food came one after another in a good pace.
The dessert and fruit platter are decent too.
We've been coming here a lot for yum cha over the last year. It's always busy whether it's a weekday or the weekend but we always manage to get a table. Great variety of yum cha and the food is decent. Fantastic desserts too. We always seem to be waiting around for egg tarts though! It can sometimes be hard to get the staff's attention but this is forgivable considering how busy it gets. I find this place as good as Sky Phoenix although my friends prefer it here and better than The Eight.
Yum cha was pretty good here. Dumplings are very nice and the kai lan in particular was delicious. Nice little selection of desserts too if you’re so inclined. Service was polite and efficient and the restaurant itself is spacious, clean with a nice decor and feel.
Great yum cha. The phrase ‘it’s all good’ can be seriously applies to this place. The duck, prawn and pork rice noodle, the dumplings, the Chinese broccoli, the list goes on.
Service isn’t the best due to the language barrier, but it’s all about the food really, just point and grab.
Recently introduced to this yum cha place and I’ve been back twice! This place is popular, quick, has efficient staff and of course delicious food! This place offers all the usual yum cha delicacies and they don’t disappoint! And the staff are pretty helpful and kind!
Good tasty yum cha dishes! Fast efficient service and the staff are very friendly. The top dishes are: scallop sui mai, the crispy swan taro and the best egg tart in Sydney!
This place offers your standard yum cha and is a similar tier to Sky Phoenix. Good variety, tasty and attentive service. We ordered 6 plates without tea and the total was around $56 for two people. This is obviously much more expensive than yum cha in the suburbs, but it is prime location.
Favourite yum cha place in all of Sydney. Love coming here after any kind of running event my friends attend..City2Surf, Half Marathons, fun runs, Full Marathons, etc. Anything that ends in the city before midday is an excuse to have yum cha here.
There is a good flow of food, the waiters are typical Chinese restaurant waiters - they're not rude per se, but they're definitely not friendly. Don't expect a smile, but damn they're efficient.
I really like this place. Although some of the staff are unfriendly, but the dim sam is really authentic and tasty. They have ton of variety and i feel like hong kong here. I nearly over ordered and the staff stop me from ordering, if she didn't stop me i might suffer food coma lol. Miss this place so much. I must go bank if i visit sydney again.

Food and the dining experience is more than just filling your hunger pangs. It is the ambience of the environment and the sensory on the palate that transports the diner to a different place.
This established yum cha restaurant does just that by transporting us to the Hong Kong dim sum houses, where we are served by the dim sum ladies wheeling their trollies of yum cha delights. Very old school, very cool. Brilliant food and a superb dining experience. Love it and highly recommend.

Been to Palace a few times. They have decent Yum Cha, which they are popular for. It has all the dishes that you would find in any other Yum Cha restaurants. The restaurant is located in the CBD so for those of you who don't want to go down to Chinatown, this is the perfect spot :)
This Chinese restaurant has been here for many years with a strong following. They are famous for their yum cha and the dinner menu is equally great. On my visit I ordered the old school favourites such as lemon chicken and combination chow mein and I was not disappointed. Can't wait to visit again.
Easy parking with benefit of a discount if you're driving in and food and seating are never a problem. Recommend to everyone to try it out.

Stopped by for Sunday Yum Cha! We got seated towards the back on the raised section and my first thought was oh no the food trolleys wouldn't be visiting our end as much! Boy was I wrong. As soon as we sat down there was a dumpling trolley at our table within a minute. We got the usual ones and also got a spicy prawn one I hadn't got before at my other usual yum Cha place in Chinatown.
Food trolleys were pretty regular on our end. We even got a waitress to ask if we wanted the steamed vegetables..ah of course!
Staff were very attentive and helpful. A few different items we sampled that we normally never get.
Overall, it was a great first time visit!
As a long time customer of the Palace I'm always amazed at the new dishes produced by the YumCha chef. Today the latest is the sweet oat buns. Delicious and satisfying. Thanks again the Palace.
This is our regular spot and exactly what you should expect from a good yum cha joint. Plenty of variety, quick service and the food is always fresh. Plus, parking in the secure underground car park is only $8 if your bill exceeds $50. Like I needed an excuse to eat over $50 of yum cha.
A typical city Chinese Resteraunt the food is tasty, the service is efficient and not overbearing, and the atmosphere is a nice dining experience
If you don’t want to go all the way to Chinatown, in the city you go to Palace. A small space compared to the Chinatown behemoths, I’m a big fan of its dumplings, salt and pepper squid, and also the rice noodle dishes, especially the rice noodle with barbecue pork (top picture). Plus there’s the added advantage of it being quick when your famished, and cheap when you’re not flush with funds. I do think its always best to go to yum cha early, at 11.30-12.00pm, when the food is the freshest (and if you go later you will undoubtedly have to queue). It also has to end with an obligatory serve of mango pancakes, though I’m a big fan of their mango sago. Chi fan! And my favourite - their mango pudding! Look at all the gems in it... the taro balls, the sago, the mango slices, the cantaloupe... I totally recommend this!
First stop is at Palace Chinese Restaurant, located at the top floor of Piccadilly Centre on Pitt Street. Catering more for the business crowd, Monday to Friday, Palace is fairly empty even at 12 noon on a Saturday. There are trolleys left in corners unattended but there is a good variety making its way around.
The cheong fun steamed rice noodle rolls come in the standard variety of fillings; prawns, char siu, or beef, and even include two stems of Chinese broccoli on the side. This is a nice touch as I love my veggies and normally would have to order an entire serving of the greens. They also serve a special scallop version of the siu mai, a pork and prawn dumpling that is simply delectable!
Good yum cha. I have been here a few times and each time the food has been good (although i tend to stick to what I like). As I usually come early the service is pretty good.
Lovely delicate and well executed yum cha - service is perfunctory but expected..taro puffs were well above average
The best yum cha i've ever had, even better than the HK ones. Good service as well. My go to yum cha spot.
Good food but very pricey. $90 for yum cha lunch for my husband and I (no alcohol, and we're not fat)
Great yum cha! The service and atmosphere here is like no other - it is exceptional and makes a meal here special. The food is good - not the absolute best yum cha I've had but it's still pretty good.
Excellent Yum Cha Restaurant. In my view, this is one of the best Yum Cha restaurants in Sydney. The decor and the services provided by the staff, have reminded me of the childhood memory of the Yum Cha restaurants in Hong Kong. The customer service is excellent and I feel very homely, which is very different from other Yum Cha places in CBD. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great quality cooking though for $35 for a seafood noodle dish I would have expected more than 2 prawns and a few small slices of fish.
My YUM CHA Heaven. I have a substance abuse problem with Yum Cha; consequently I've frequented Yum Cha establishments across Sydney and whereever I travel.
In my opinion The Palace is only rivalled by Grand Harbour in Auckland, NZ.
Why? Vast selection of traditional favourites pork ribs, chicken feet, sticky rice AND new favourites.
I'm a sucker for the dumpling; the prawn & garlic numbers at the Palace are amazing. Great Peking duck and a good wine list, as well as attentive service makes it my first choice
Epic. Best yum cha in the city. Little bit more exxy but totally worth it for the selection and quality. Fave dishes: Shantung Chicken (srsly, if you haven't tried it, do yourself a favour), Chinese Broc, Duck & Mushroom Dumplings, plain Prawn Dumplings.
Just had a really good lateish meal here. Pretty good service for a big open-plan Chinese. Decent wine list. Highly recommend the Wagyu steak & the SCB.
Great Yum Cha!. We decided to try the yum cha here with a bit of trepidation from the mixed reviews and can say we were pleasantly surprised! Service was as swift and grumpy as any other Chinese restaurant and gee these Chinese women were good salesmen! Found they offered a very wide range of choice over and above the usual fare, we will return again when in Sydney.
