Have walked past this place a few times and it always seems busy so was curious to try it.
They have a good breakfast menu with all your favourites plus some specials.
Trying out one of the brunch specials here - smashed avo with meatballs on sourdough toast sprinkled with Parmesan.
The dish was sorta like a subway meatball sub but way better, the smashed avo added creaminess to the dish. A thumbs up from me.
Great Nutella donut milkshakes! Nice quiet cafe in a residential area with chill staff. Burger was nice and juicy with salted thick cut chips. Big breakfast was tasty with sweet potato and well seasoned sausages.
I enjoyed my burger and will probably come back for it again sometime. Did say yes to having chips with my burger but guess the person didn’t hear that.
Vibe was nice, I don’t think there is any air con but there are two fans on the wall.
Only fault with burger was the sauce seemed to be kind of missing on one side, would had preferred more.
Foodcraft is a great gourmet cafe. It can be a bit expensive based on what you want but the serving sizes are quite large so it is certainly value for money. I mainly use this joint for breakfast but dinner is good at Foodcraft too. At $15 the five grain porridge is standard serving size and very well cooked. The corn fritters are pretty large, they even come in half size or full size. I always opt for half size as the corn fritters are pretty thick but the serving of salsa and guac are still quite large which is never a bad thing. This is my regular at Foodcraft and def my fave dish. I normally accompany these with a fresh juice and at $7 its pretty standard sizing. I have always opted for specials when i come here for dinner. If Im meeting up with someone for coffee i always get the Chocolate Tella Ball Milk shake. It is basically a standard chocolate milkshake with a Round donut ball filled with chocolate on top. The coffee in my opinion is just pretty standard. Service is great and very fast with the owners being so lovely. They are always willing to work around requests and have a great rep with the locals. Dog friendly with loads of outdoor seating.
Stopped in to this isolated cafe to escape the rain and found a very pleasant corner spot with dog-friendly outdoor tables, table service and great staff. The coffee was hot, rich, creamy, and with a little bit of the syrupy flavour I’ve been having trouble finding. Could perhaps have been stronger, otherwise great.
I absolutely loved this small little cafe hiding in Erskineville!
We were seated very quickly and kindly as we walked towards the door. The menu was jam packed with a delicious range of food! They have all day breakfast with all the usual breakie’s, a lovely lunch menu, alcoholic and non alcohol drink AND cabinet food!
The staff go absolutely over and above, not fancy but extremely warm and welcoming.
The food was delicious! We got a range of salads and salad type bowls. Everything was seasoned and dressed to perfection. They have a lovely choice of donuts that were delicious for dessert.
I will be back again very very soon.
Sep 18 - Ordered the Nutella shake. It's really amazing but comes with a side of guilt. The other stuff on the menu seems pricey but they are really good. My friend ordered the salmon Benedict. Go for that one. Coffee is really good too. They have a great outdoor seating and so close to the station.
Came here on a quiet weekday for some brunch and was happily surprised by the high quality. The burger was cooked very well and despite the shakshuka not being on the seasonal menu, the chef was kind enough to oblige to our request.
A hidden gem. I live so close to Foodcraft but never knew it was there until one of my neighbours suggested it for a coffee.
I took their advice and got a coffee and wasn’t disappointed but the menu looked so good I knew I had to go back.
The menu has a great variety for such a small kitchen and the service is fast, attentive and friendly.
Awesome burgers and Nutella milkshakes!!! Make sure you go early as the Nutella doughnuts run out by lunch time!!! You won't be disappointed!!!
Came here early today for brunch and also because my friend told me the last time she came here at around 1pm the tella ball shakes were sold out. Ordered the bacon and egg panini and the buttermilk pancakes with a nutella shake each. Both were really good tho I thought the cheese in my panini was a bit bitter. I HIGHLY recommend that if you dont have a large appetite that sharing one plate of food and two drinks each will be satisfying enough already. As you can see we learnt the hard way. The food here is a bit more expensive than other cafes but size and taste of the food is worth it. Would come back again.
As I was researching where to eat in Sydney (because that was obviously more important than sightseeing), I noticed that they had so many more brunch places! There are cafes that are just focused on brunch and lunch and they close at night. We need more all day brunch!!! We need to start a petition!!! AHHHHHHHHHH

Come for the tellaball shakes and not for the food.
Everyone knows the famous tellaball shakes. This cafe was the birth of the shake. Came here thinking it wouldn't be as busy, but we were wrong. Maybe because it was a weekend.
We ordered the tellaball shake as well as some food. I went with a panini which came with fries. It was a decent portion, might be too much with the tellaball shake as it is very filling itself. I wasn't too impressed with the panini, it definitely wasn't anything special. It was a little bland and tasted like it didn't have any dressing/sauce in it.
Definitely come by for the shakes though. They're worth the hype :).... That's my opinion.
The moment I walked through the doors I was hit with one of the best forms of hospitality I've ever seen. Amazing service, the staff constantly checked up on you and attended your needs straight away. They were extremely friendly and gave off warm cozy vibes which influenced the atmosphere in the restuarant. The price range was pleasing, with nothing over $20
Their Tellaball Shakes are not a joke! It wasn't just for show, the milkshake itself was delicious, it wasn't sweet but it wasn't plain. You can also taste the Nutella in it but you aren't hit with a strong taste of it. The donut itself was also a treat, crispy outside and soft inside it served as an Amazin dessert for after the meal.
I had the Foodcraft Burger which had the side of chips. Served fresh, the chips and their special aoili sauce were instantly my favourite. The burger was extremely filling and met the expectations you would have for the store. An extremely thick patty of beef with cucumbers, tomato and lettuce in the middle of two soft buns
Never left a restuarant so satisfied and stuffed in my life.
I extremely recommend you to visit this place. 😊
I think everyone heard about Tellaball Shake (Nutella donut on top of a chocolate milkshake) by now. What can top this drink that 'broke the internet'? Well, we are trying the ultimate new and improved version - Icebreaker Shake (which is a Nutella shake with Nutella donut ball filled with hazelnut praline ice cream)! It is OMG good!!!
Food is really nice, with plenty of variety. Service is friendly, attentive and quick. It's our regular weekend breakfast café of choice.
Would have given a 5, but they seem to always curdle the soy milk in my coffee and it is way too cramped inside.
Jumped on the bandwagon and got myself to Foodcraft Espresso to try a Tella Ball shake, that happy union of a Nutella filled doughnut perched atop a Nutella milkshake.
The cafe is situated within an apartment complex alongside the railway line. You'd never...
The burgers and desert were so fantastic I will be coming back here for sure when I retired to Sydney. I was with tho other male friends and the service by the male waiter was on the mark and not to mention he was super cute too. I was the guy with the spiked hair that had the rockstar look with my two older gentleman friends. My order was amazing and with the order I got the burger of the day with the beer battered chips and they and the desert were like heaven. Fantastic place.
This is a place for nutella lovers! Doughnuts are standard, and sweet! Tella ball shake is standard too.. Can be eaten once but not the type of dessert that you'll come back for. Service is ok.

Want the original tella shake? This is the place to go. Not sure how you call this a drink as it is a lot more indulgent & substantial. More like a dessert and it is decadent & delicious. There are also real food to eat too & everything is delicious. No wonder it has become a worldwide phenomenon.
Came here for brunch on the weekend and it quite busy but we got a table for 5 pretty fast. Service was nice and friendly. They had tella ball shakes which was really nice. For food I had their special, spaghetti with chorizo and chicken. It was ok, nothing special about it. Sauce was tomato based and was lacking any kick of flavour. Was sort of bland. But the rest, enjoyed their meals. Still a very nice place to visit for brunch.

Better known for its Nutella creations...
Lunch not so great but still go for the amazing Nutella creations.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Still worth a visit.
The Foodcraft Espresso & Bakery was brought to my attention after reading an online news article about their "world famous" Tella Balls - a massive doughnut ball filled with nutella! Being a major chocolate fan, I was eager to check this out. When my friend and I arrived on a sunny Saturday morn, there was one serious crowd waiting outside the cafe and it took us almost half an hour before we finally landed a table inside...
Amazing milkshakes especially if you are a Nutella junkie cause the Nutella ball milkshake is seriously delicious. The Americano burger was pretty good but the patty was a bit bland and a little too chunky. However the chips were super crunchy and tasty. One thing I must say lets this place down is the waitress, she is rude and unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome otherwise I would have given a higher rating.
Staff & service is great!
The food was so amazing, had the Italian baked eggs & Mediterranean board. Both were superb. Both meals came out quickly even though it was a full house!
The Nutella ball shakes are a must!
Would go again!
•Spicy Italian chicken - great sandwich with plenty of fatty delicious chippies
•Nutella milkshake is to die for! They include a nutella filled doughnut.. HEAVEN!
•Great atmosphere, plenty of outdoor seating and great location without it being polluted from the cars in the heart of Erskineville!

Location is a nightmare and parking is even worse. But if you have a sweet tooth and even bigger obsession with Nutella then this is the place for you.
Food was good but not wow, it's in the dessert category they excel. I wouldn't say the best shakes I've ever had but not too shabby either
The place so famous for their Tella Ball shakes they are opening up a dessert cafe dedicated to Nutella. The big breakfast here is HUGE and a bargain when you see how much you get. The blueberry pancakes are bigger than some sky scrapers and pretty good. And the Tella Balls. Filled doughnuts basically. What is there to complain about
Wonderful place..., just around the corner.
Best coffee ever! 😉
Period of wait for a table.. Probably 5 min.!
I recommend this place.. ✨✨✨
After seeing all the hype on social media I was expecting to have to wait for a table but we got one straight away! The tella ball shake was to die for and they also do good chai latte :) service was good and really love the location!
Great tells balls, milkshakes, sweet sweet coffee and wholesome value for money breakfasts. It's located in the middle of nowhere as they build the surrounding housing estates
Nice little spot hidden close to Erko station. Staff are happy and friendly and even though it's not the biggest portions when it comes to the breakfasts, the 'tella ball makes up for this, they're is out of this world!
I have heard so much about foodcraft and was really excited to visit them at the Food Truck jam.
Even though they were in a tent the chocolate milkshake that I got was one of the best I have had in Sydney! I keep thinking about the shake, the doughnut ball on top was nice, and had a good mix of Nutella and dough.
I'm very much looking forward to visiting Foodcraft to have another milkshake and some food.
Quite funky and new cafe. The menu is exciting and fun but everything is overwhelmed with toppings and needs a bit more quality/nourishment. The famous tella balls are actually pretty dry and doughy...I've had better donuts. But I like the concept and presentation. Service was pretty average but not unpleasant.
Food Craft has been rather famous lately, with gorgeous photos of their milkshakes and baked goods doing the rounds on social media. I had just gorged myself on chips and a burger at the Madman burger launch event when I realised that I could kill two birds with one stone. I could try out TWO new food items in one day! Burgers and fries followed up by a nutella flavoured milkshake, with a nutella filled doughnut on top? Uhh hell yeah! So of course I had to run across town to catch Food Craft before they closed. I was stuffed. I had a gut. But I knew if I put in effort I could fit in dessert. Someone’s gotta do it!
I love nutella and i love these shakes. Warning though, you will feel awfully sick afterwards but they are so delicious you need to do it. To all nutella lovers this is your dream come true!
Had the Nutella donut shake, haloumi eggs and wagyu beef burger. Food was slightly pricey and a bit average. Glad we didn't have to line up in the scorching heat.
Was waiting half an hour to be seated:(well what can i say?is a famous cafe now,:) even long way from where i live but doesn't matter must try!the nutella ball very delicious, but for me choc shakes and nutella ball are too much chocolate. Vanilla shakes with nutella ball are perfect combination tho.if that day i was sitting at the good spot i might have other things to eat but its too crowded next time probably
Very pleasant place. Calm environment. Delicious food. More options for vegetarians could be a plus.
Had to wait too long, but worth the wait.
(30 min wait turned out to be 60 min)
The tella shake is really nice. The tella ball was really nice too! The cruffin was okay - a little dry. They're really generous with the amount of filling which was a winning point and made eating the tella ball and cruffin exciting.
Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a massive queue. We had take away and it took about 10-15min of waiting in line, and 5-10min to get our order. Recommend the tella shake if you don't mind the wait!
I had a great experience here - waitress was lovely + Tella shake was outstanding but felt sick for a week from the sugar rush! Cronut said are absolutely delicious and the food looks great though we just came for the shakes. Pretty crowded but the outdoor area is nice and there is loads of parking around the area.
I finally caved and hoped onto the bandwagon of trying this "World Famous Tella Shake"! I first saw this drink on Facebook and shortly after my cousin in Canada sent me a picture of this telling me to go and try it. This drink has seriously sent Netizens (the citizens of the Internet) into chaos and has gone viral across the world. Every time I would log into Facebook or Instagram I would see a picture of the Tella Shake at least once and pictures of the long queue.
If you haven’t already seen them, they created the infamous Tella Ball and Tella Ball Milkshake, and you need to know about it. The shakes feature a Tella ball – a doughnut stuffed with Nutella, that is positioned on top of a decadent Nutella milkshake. Before their new Tella Ball Milkshake went viral on Instagram, they were creating milkshakes that were piled high with Tim Tams, Oreos and dripping with chocolate.
Went to check this place out after all the hype on fb.
Tella balls - a must have for any Nutella fan. They are generously filled with Nutella! You won't be disappointed. They are $4.50 each, maybe that's slightly too expensive - but overall they taste good.
Not sure why everyone is complaining about wait time! I arrived to a huge line on a Wednesday morning, yet I was still only there for 15 mins before I had takeaway food in my hand. Awesome service. The tella ball was probably the best doughnut I've ever had. I was expecting more from the Rueben - it was served to me in a white-bread panini, would have been a lot better on Rye.

Tella ball shake is on everyone’s lips at the moment. It’s suddenly shot to fame in a short span of time – the magical power of social media! Although I didn’t happen to try their famous shake, I did taste each of the Tella ball flavours – vanilla bean ricotta, salted caramel, 5 berry jam and last but not least, Nutella. They were all unique in their flavours, and each tasted great. However, if I were to choose a favourite, it would have to be the vanilla bean ricotta, with Nutella close behind.
The vanilla bean was fresh and light like custard, sweet and not overpowering. And Nutella – well, what more is there to say. It’s rich, chocolatey and packed with Nutella goodness. The salted caramel was nice but tasted more savoury than sweet, and the 5 berry jam although good, was lacking a bit of filling. My only wish would be that they came straight out of the Tella ball production line – being hot and steamy – that would be a whole other level of droolworthyness!
This sunlit, spacious and funky café is not just about their pastries and sweets. As their café items are wholesome and all look delicious. I had the Italian baked eggs, which was substantial, hearty and a satisfying breakfast meal.
Must haves // tella balls – vanilla bean ricotta and nutella
Next to try // tella ball shake
Pros // friendly prompt service, funky décor, quality food
Cons // busy

Get yourself down here! Seriously, if you do nothing else this weekend go for a drive to Erskineville and enjoy the delights of this new cafe famous for their 'Tella Balls'. Salted caramel, vanilla ricotta, jam and of course the famous Nutella these are to die for! Plus they have a great lunch menu and lots of gluten free cakes too. These guys have nailed it - friendly service, plenty of outdoor heaters for the cold and great menu. I'll be back again and again!
This is a great addition to the culinary delights in Erskineville and Newtown. Our area lacked a place like this where you could get a good coffee, cake and a nice choice of breakfast or sandwiches. There gluten free options are also very good and you won't be disappointed should you order a sandwich on their GF bread.
I had the Reben club sandwich on this occasion and was very impressed. My favourite though is the Nutella balls. These are just scrumptious!!

Erskineville is no stranger to excellent coffee and good food so it's not surprising that "Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery" decided to open in this part of the inner west.
Located at 33 Bridge Street, Erskineville under the newly finished apartment complex just there – Food Craft Espresso and Bakery is a hop and skin away from Erskineville station (just walk along Bridge street) and you’ll get there soon enough. Housed in a lofty 3.8m high space is the Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery; itself a cafe/bakery with plenty to like. They also sell a signature range of donuts called Tellaballs and contrary to the name, isn’t just Nutella. There’s vanilla Ricotta, salted Caramel, Jam and of course Nutella Donuts.
Food was great - we ordered a meatball panini and a chicken burger and they were great, and the chips were amazing.
Service however let the experience down...our coffee order was forgotten and to the staff's credit they admitted the error and apologised, but then they brought out the wrong coffee to my husband...in the end we both got the coffees we ordered but they were served to us in takeaway cups even though we had a table, which was a bit weird. Anyway we're hoping that this was just down to teething issues cause we'll be back.
And the tella ball was divine!!!
Food is amazing and the 'tella balls are a must-have. Service is great as well. My only wish is that the coffee is more robust. Left me wanting a stronger piccolo.
Amazing new cafe with very cool design. The lamb panini is amazing coupled with a great coffee. Service is top notch and very attentive. Tella Ball was also a very nice finishing touch. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Sad that the Ricotta Tella balls were sold out.
Yummy Tella Ball ($4.50) hits the spot for a sugar hit ie Nutella filled doughnut. Fair amount of seating and friendly service. Cappuccino ($3.50) was also good using Single Origin Roasters 'Paradox'. My guilty pleasure of a hash brown side ($3, 2 pieces) scores two pieces cooked to a golden crunchy texture.
Opening day so everyone was welcomed enthusiastically and efficiently. A nice on trend menu and plenty of seating outside. Food was pretty good, though I'd offer butter with sourdough toast or butter it for us. Some seats indoors cop blinding sun. The cakes on display look awesome. Will try again for lunch.
