Review Emad's - Sydney

Delicious and family friendly - so friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome and at home! Made dining out with children so easy. Thanks for a wonderful night out!

We don’t get to come here often enough, local delight, are always welcomed by the friendly atmosphere. You really can’t go wrong with the banquets or just order by the plate. Great place for a quick bite, or boozy dinner.

Falafel, kebbeh, hummus, tabuleh and other appetizer are good. Meat skewers are all below average but perhaps for Australia, they are ok. Nice and quiet place, very friendly service.

What a fabulous experience we had at Emad's. The food was authentic and sooo good. The service was great, making sure there was nothing we didn't have. We even had a Belly Dancer who created a wonderful atmosphere for the evening, we had the best night at Emad's and highly recommend it to anyone who is just after great Lebanese food or has a function. Price was unbelievably affordable

So pleasantly surprised by this place. Ordered the Banquet Menu for the two of us and it was overflowing with deliciousness. Every dish they served was worth it alone, all combined it was just fantastic. The hummus, baba ganoush and tabouli were a particular highlight. So simple yet so yum. They were happy to accommodate one of us being vegetarian, even with a set menu. Really happy with our experience, would go back again tonight if we still weren't so full from last night!

I love this place, I think it’s a family run business and the food is always delicious, well priced and comes out quickly. It’s my favourite Lebanese in Sydney. Glad to have come back after craziness of Covid, check it out!!! BYO as well which is great! I Always get extra food to take away with me. Thank you

Beautiful decor and even better food, Emad's Restaurant prepares each dish with care, focusing only on single ingredients. Each skewered meat is $5 a pop (the kafta made from minced lamb is very good, but the shish kebab is spectacular), and various dips and pastries are a fusion of spices and tart flavours. The hummus dip, while a staple in Lebanese cooking, comes alive, and the cauliflower (fried, served with tahini sauce) is a precious delight, with a lemon zing that will make your tastebuds explode with joy. Service is extraordinary, a great mix of friendliness and attention, without being creepy or overbearing. The chairs and couched seats are very comfortable and the low lights and trinkets add a warm ambience. Well with the trip to Surry Hills, even from the other side of town.

The oldest restaurant in the Lebanese quarter, Emad's is still serving up delicious food with impeccable service (free byo!), but the prices are higher than their neighbours. Platters start at $30 for one with minimal meat and, since we all finished our meals, they must be a lot smaller than the competitors.

Only place that does vine leaves with meat in it, I LOVE IT!! And I love everything else as well. Definitely coming back and gonna recommend it to friends and family

outstanding customer service and generosity on behalf of the staff. delicious flavours enhanced with the zing of lemon, the tang of cumin and the spice of chilli. just a wonderful experience even dining on my own!

A little disappointing, found the fattoush too sour and the meat salty. The plus with this place is you can order skewers individually and the vine leaves and cabbage rolls have meat in them, that's something different
Overall I was expecting more

You can tell that the place has been around for many years - they still use handwritten invoices and some of the decor is a bit dated.

However, our party of about 20 people were very well looked after for my friend's 30th birthday. It is BYO so you can save a few pennies on drinks.

We ordered the $35 banquet per person and were absolutely stuffed. Breads, dips, kebabs, pastries, stuffed vine leaves, cabbage rolls, salad, baklava and coffee. Made for a great night if you aren't looking to spend a fortune for a good feed. We thought the food was never going to end!

First Lebanese restaurant I have ever visited from many years ago. We purchased a $29 voucher which came with a variety of things, of which I only remembered rice wrapped in pickled vine leaves and lamb skewers. Personally I wasn't massively into them. The seating downstairs looked very comfy with large colorful cushions and lounges. However it was a completely different vibe upstairs- it was terribly dated, grimey, and dingy. The fluorescent lights were really harsh in your eyes. It was probably one of the shabbiest restaurant I've visited. The voucher was a good value for substantial amount of food but nothing else warranted a return.

Went here for a birthday and got the set menu. Ate myself into a coma in a relaxing middle eastern vibe. Really enjoyable meal with friendly staff. Would recommend the set menu, great value also with the BYO!

Whenever I am in the city I try & find an excuse to detour through Surry hills to get to this amazing food. I highly recommend the Super Banquet which gives you a little bit of everything & the food just keeps coming.

Not only is this the best Lebanese restaurant in my books, it's one of my favourite restaurants in general. The owners are lovely, the food is so tasty and fresh and the price you pay is excellent value . Don't get put off by the inside decor, it's better to have great food than all show and leaving a restaurant ripped off and hungry. Coriander potatoes are a must order

We absolutely loved Emads! We went there for a friends birthday. The food was amazing. Staff were friendly and we were always served with a smile. We were so surprised for the amount of food we ordered, it really is great value for money. I would highly recommend Emads and will be going back for sure!!

Great place really loved it. We all really enjoyed the great food and the traditional atmosphere.the staff were nice and helpful recommend we order the super banquets. such lovely variety of Lebanese food that all went together beautifully .very good value for 30 dollars each. I was surprised to find out that emads has been open for 51 years and is one of the first Lebanese restaurants in Sydney which explains the beautiful traditional tasting food and restaurants atmosphere.
Its been a long time since I've eaten at a authentic restaurant like this and would recommend it as a must . I'll be eating there often and ordering the banquets for sure.

Disappointing. We arrived at Emad's hoping to understand the hype. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed by the value of the food and the quality of the service. In brief, we found that the food was not all that notable, particularly given the priciness of the dishes; the service was sporadic and somewhat discomforting, particularly by the staff sitting in the back not doing much but watch films on their computer or gossip about customers; and the ambience was all right, with a Lebanese theme, but was not that functional and not that clean either.

In light of this, we would not recommend Emad's Lebanese Restaurant to our friends.

Great Service. Nice atmosphere, great Service, good food and suitable prices. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Lebanese food :)
The Chef actually came out to ensure the food was ok and it was what we expected.

We were seated upstairs at a low table with cushioned benches, the uneven floors and narrow staircase all adding to the character. A trip to the loo involved walking through the kitchen and into the garden. (Where there was an outside loo, you weren't expected to use a flower bed!) All of the dishes on the menu were meze style and we doubled up on most to satisfy our group of six. First to arrive were tabbouleh, hummus, babah ganoush and flat breads. Hungry from the day at wo

The long standing emads is perhaps not the best lebanese food around but they provide an intimate and cosy setting for groups to have a fun night out — especially when there's a belly dancer involved on Friday and Saturday nights. The Super Banquet will s

Great night out!. We had a large group of girls for a hen's night out and the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The venue, belly dancing and service was great and the food was good and very reasonably priced. Thank you for a great dinner out!

Great night !. I took a group of 8 people with me , to celebrate a birthday and ordered a "banquet " meal for each of us .

It was unbelievable !....The food was delicous and never stopped coming .

This was followed up , by Coffee and sweets and I could not believe , we ONLY paid $35 a head ....decor was dim and ok ...but the service by our great waitress Katie ( American / Lebanese she told us ) was great ! ...The manager was very welcoming and pleasant !....Would recommend to anyone , to try !

Great authentic food, great service. And even better, the owner will give you great empirical advice no matter the topic of conversation or level of sobriety. a very fun night.

I love this place! Cozy environment, fresh and tasty Lebanese food, and super nice staff. I came with a voucher and will most definitely go back. I highly recommend it.

THE best Lebanese meal I've had for many years if not ever. Mixed platter was my choice and it was generous and delicious.

I have been eating at Emad's for 30 years & it never fails to impress me. The best Lebanese food on the strip.
Ramona
Awesome atmosphere, service and most important food! Stuffed zuchini are a must. It was as good as a home cooked meal but better as your not doing the cooking! Ill be going back for sure.

Timeless Lebanese Delights. This place could teach a lot of restaurants about how to consistently do things well. I've been going here since the mid-70s (my wife even earlier) & have never had a poor meal. They stick to delivering a core selection of typical Lebanese dishes & do it well, every time. The Babagabouj, Homous, Tabouli, Kibbe, Falafel, Ladies Fingers, skewered Chicken or Lamb, Baklava & Lebanese coffee (I like mine strong) are just so good. They do individual dishes or you can have 'platter' style feasts of set items (which are my favourite). The service is always so friendly & helpful; toilets are pretty average out the back, but they're always clean. The atmosphere is great if a bit old & daggy but...no bother! BYO as well & there's a few pubs close by with bottle-shops.
Belly dancing on the weekend (after 9pm I think) is fun too.
