Came in for lunch ordered crispy chicken, rice paper rolls and crispy netted rolls. All dishes were actually pretty delicious; dishes were crispy as name suggested with well put together ingredients. Service was friendly and fast, definitely will be back to try other dishes when I am in the area!
Got a hearty bowl of pho here. The broth was tasty, and the beef brisket that came with it was lovely too. The food came out real quick, which was an added bonus.
A great restaurant with a good range of dishes. I ordered the vegan pho which was light and refreshing. I also tried the chicken pho which was more rich in flavour. Both were generously sized and had lots of broth and sauce.
Great view. Good food and service. Best pho in the CBD. Must try the spring rolls. That was my favourite. Good variety of Vietnamese beer. Good place for a sunny weekend.
Phomo is a Vietnamese restaurant situated at Barangaroo. They offer yummy food with food service. Picture: prawn & pork summer rolls, rare beef pho, spicy beef noodle soup and salt & pepper. My go to is the rare beef pho.
We tried the chicken Pho which was allright.Knowing the accurate taste of the dish from our sojourns in Vietnam this came close but not close enough. Good service and sweet staff. Food imho needs work.
I got the chicken pho which was absolutely delicious. The serving size was great because it was big but not so massive that you left in a food coma. Tables were clean and service was great. Would definitely come back and try some of the other options on the menu! :)
Located on Wulugul Walk in The Streets of Barangaroo, Phomo offers exciting Vietnamese dishes with a modern twist. Enjoying the dishes with a beautiful waterfront view, is definitely a nice bonus. This venue has a spacious dining area with a few seatings looking over the beautiful harbour. Their simple yet modern decor definitely showcases the Vietnamese culture through their wooden furnitures and colourful umbrellas on their shopfront.
Beautiful, fresh and SO tasty! The staff were so polite and helpful. The atmosphere good and the views great. Very nice wines by the glass. Thumbs up definitely.
The perfect place to come for a Vietnamese feast during the Sydney Vivid Festival (or anytime really!) The atmosphere is exciting and electric and the waiters are doing a great job at keeping up with demand! After just returning from Vietnam I am currently on a challenge to find Sydney's best pho and Phomo certainly is in the running! Started with some enticing starters to whet the appetite...Yellow fin tuna tostadas and Pork and Prawn Rice Paper Rolls. Both excellent choices! There are six versions of Vietnamese noodle soups on offer including a vegetarian mushroom option but we both choose the Rare Wagyu Beef Pho which is very tender and succulent. The broth is very flavoursome and soothing after being cooked for 12 hours. Added to this is an abundance of flat rice noodles, bean sprouts, fresh herbs and lemon! Perfect. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu!
Food: overall 4/5 stars.
-(5/5 stars) crispy skin chicken with tomato rice is delicious and perfectly fried and juicy tasting. Love this dish. It includes lettuce on the side and fish sauce dip.
-(5/5 stars) pork chop with tomato rice. Delicious.
-(3/5 stars) pho. Average tasting.
-(5/5stars) Bun Bo Hue noodle soup was my favorite dish at this place but unfortunately they took it off the menu recently, sooooo sad!!!!! They should bring this dish back (please) cuz it was delicious and full of flavor. :_(
-(1/5 stars) rice paper rolls were the worse I’ve ever had. It tasted very fusion and the flavors just didn’t work, very weird. They need to change the ingredients and make it traditional/authentic Vietnamese flavours.
-(5/5) Vietnamese coffee, oh so good, full of flavour. Viet coffee has that extra sweet flavour cuz of the condensed milk, just yum imo. They usually serve it cold with ice but are will to make it hot upon my request.
Ambience: (4/5 stars) casual, open, great waterfront views, nice relaxed vibe. Order food at the counter.
Price: expensive for Viet food (minus one star). ~$17 per dish. But for the nice waterfront location, price is considered reasonable. Portion size is medium, wish it was bigger for that price.
Service: (5/5stars) great, friendly.
Toilet: great! Next to restaurant, very clean and modern.
#Throwback Thursday to this scrumptious fusion Vietnamese dinner at Phởmo in Barangaroo. Located at the one of the best hotspots in Sydney, the restaurant has revamped the menu with a newly appointedexecutive chef Peter Wu (@king-peter). Located at the main business hub in Sydney CBD, Phởmo was packed on weekdays so make sure you do make a reservation prior.
Before I went to this restaurant I had never had a pho but this one has got me hooked. When we first got there it was a bit of a hassle getting the attention of the waiter but once we ordered our drinks came straight away. The wait for the food was a bit lengthy but oh was it worth it. The actual soup itself tasted great and the beef was really nice as well. The noodles were tasty especially with the coriander. Will definitely be coming back here.
This is our favourite Viet styled salt & pepper tofu (battered lightly in a crispy coating tossed with a mix of salt, pepper, chilli, shallots and garlic.
The garlic king prawns were cooked to perfection and so fresh.
The service was great and the staff were very attentive, and the wait time was not long for the food.
Located in the heart of Barangaroo, there is plenty of seating outdoor under cover overlooking the pier.
We came here for dinner and we were seated at the high tables, so it was good to be able to get somewhere without a reservation. The food was nice and servings are generous. Definitely try the vegetarian and the pork spring rolls. Soooooo good! Will be back for a casual dinner.
Phomo is a splash of colour along Wulugul Walk in Barangaroo. Since the specialty of the house was pho, that’s what we had. Husband had raw and cooked beef; and I had the beef combination (not noticing it had beef tripe in it, which I don’t mind, but explains why husband stuck to the other beef).
We went there on Friday for lunch without a reservation but being 6 ppl, the service staff got us a table just for us while we were ordering. I had the Vermicelli bowl (vegetarian) which was wholesome and tasty. The service was really fast and food came out in less 10 minutes. Will go there again.
‘Phomo’ = Pho of missing out (anyone get it?) What is the best thing to eat on a cold or windy Winter day (or both)? Something hot like soup or I’ve done you one better, pho i.e. beef noodle soup. Placing ourselves strategically near the restaurant’s heaters, we sat down while a staff member got us our menus.
Ordered the sugar cane and spring roll vermicelli bowl at a team lunch and it was great! Huge serving size and very fresh ingredients. Would definitely return for a quick bite.
Enjoyed the DIY Vietnamese rolls! Pork was yum. And they were fun to make. Plus a great view from the restaurant! The pho is not amazing, I think you more come here for the decent price and view
Absolutely delicious food. Couldn't have asked for a better meal. The pork and prawn salad and the tapioca dumplings were the best!! Would definitely go back
Cold night, down at Barangaroo foreshore! What more could you want than a healthy serving of pho to warm you up! A huge serving size, tasty, flavourful dish with lots of fresh condiments to put in the pho. Nice taste to the broth.
Let's just say I got FOMO when I saw iFat's review of Phomo late last year.I'm always craving a good bowl of hearty soup and pho is one of those dishes (like ramen and laksa) that when you hear it's good somewhere, it's always worth trying.Phomo is located in Barangaroo so it's always flooded in natural light in the al fresco dining area.
A true delight along the streets of Barangaroo. I've been here twice already and love the fresh food and variety of their menu.
Vegetarian rice paper rolls are delicious. The rate beef pho is an absolute must... The chicken Vietnamese salad is also good. Haven't picked a bad dish yet.
They also do a happy hour from 3 to 6pm. Get in early and order a few!!
Summer rolls were fresh, spring rolls were fried crispy and pho tasted traditional! Excellent home made chili relish. Solid vietnamese restaurant
Came here for lunch on a workday as I was craving pho and must say this place gets packed. I ordered the beef combination pho ($16) and it was good enough to satisfy my pho cravings but wouldn't say it's the best I've had. Even though the waiter forgot to give me a plate of beansprouts/lemon/greens, the service was good, topped with pretty interior and location at Barrangaroo.
Couldn't have asked for a nicer dining experience. The Prawns wrapped in crispy pumpkin was delicious as was the new popcorn chicken. We found all the staff to be extremely friendly.
I thought I'd pop in and try this new pho place in Barangaroo and I was not disappointed. I've been here a few times since, and each time the pho has been delicious and customer service was well done. The manager Jin in particular was very friendly and attentive to my requests, always making sure that I have been served satisfactorily. His bubbly persona is infectious and definitely the cherry on top of my lunch experience. Highly recommend!
Don't get FOMO try Phomo... Phomo has only been open for a month and joins a whole host of restaurants along the waterside near Barangaroo. Seating is outdoors but under cover. At night the walkway lights up with neo blue and is quite lovely. At 8pm Monday night it was almost empty.
Service was attentive and friendly. The food was quite nice, they give generous amounts of bean sprouts, mint, chilli and also meat for the pho. Note that for the chicken and egg pho, the egg comes separately in a soup. Given the location prices on the high side too.
We were here on a Friday night waited about an hour for a food, very poor experience on that part. However, waiters were very apologetic and attentive. We got our drinks on the house as well as 3 dishes that turned up very late. Happy to give them another shot as the food was good but they will have to work better on the punctuality.
The latest in a murderer’s row of restaurants in Barangaroo, Phomo (brought by the team behind Me Oi in Strathfield and Sydney CBD) features all of the classic Vietnamese staples of the utmost quality.
Let’s see if they’re pho real or not (oh yeah, no holds barred on this one).
The location is lovely for warm days, not sure how it will work in winter as it's kind of outdoorsy. I went on a hot lunchtime and loved the fresh air and shiny new surroundings. Ordered special beef pho with high expectations. It was good but I've had better! Broth is slightly peppery but totally enjoyable, rare beef was kind of clumped together which was a shame and not as rare as I like, but beef balls were good, definitely need more tendon!! I'll go back for the atmosphere over summer.
