Absolutely stunning dishes at Cruise Bar and an amazing view of the Opera House to match!
Cheers to Mionetto Moments, a celebration of Mionetto Prosecco from Treviso, Italy. To complement, I had a selection of dishes including rock oysters, crab and chorizo stuffed ocean trout, hanger steak, roo burger, and black forest chocolate mousse.
I was honestly blown away by the calibre of the food here. Attention to detail with presentation and the thoughtfulness behind crafting each dish was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this location for a luxurious evening. My picks of the night were the oysters, hanger steak and chocolate mousse.

Best view and served good quality food. I ordered the cauliflower arancini and smoked scallop as entree. Definitely so good and so elegant.
The mains I choose the crusted snapper. So delicious and authentic! Love the view while enjoyed my food. Nothing better than that
A great spot for an afternoon drink. We didn't stay for a meal so I can't comment on the quality here - but the oysters / breads / nibbles were fantastic. A great view over Circular Quay and a great spot to bring visitors of Sydney for that quintessential harbour experience.
Entrees: Scallops, oysters, wedges were good (wedges especially)
My main (ocean trout) was enjoyable. The potatoes and mushrooms on the side were tasty.
Service was ok, easy location with views.
Whilst visiting from interstate we had a pit stop here after we looked around Circular Quay. I enjoyed a mojito cocktail, hubby enjoyed a few beers and we shared the portuguese chicken wings. Super tasty, lots of flavour, we both really enjoyed them. Busy place, many people coming and going for food and drinks. Nice location and you can sit outside but we opted inside as it was a little chilly and windy and we had heaters right above us inside which was great.

Location- cannot complain or criticise. An unrestricted view of the Opera House was just amazing!
My mates and I didn't spend too much time at Cruise Bar as we didn't exactly enjoy the drinks range and the couple that we wanted to try were unavailable. Had a couple of drinks and that was about it.
Das ist wunderbar! Ich liebe die wine für den Winter!! Die beiden sind wir uns auf den ersten Blick! Ich habe ein neues Molekül könnte bald Masern!
Unbeatable view for anyone visiting. Staff was friendly and excited about the cocktails and food. Found the second floor, Junk Lounge to be a hidden gem.
This place rocks, on a bright sunny day, in the courtyard, cold beer in hand, with awesome live music. Staff are super friendly, and helpful. And Junk Lounge, on the second level, has a killer cocktail list with amazing food to match!
Love this locations, junk lounge is just an amazing relexed bar with helpful and friendly staffs. Love this place when its rainy day on Saturday and sunday.. felt like we are having private live band for us.
An absolutely stunning venue. Amazing views, delicious food and very keenly priced to my surprise. It made going back to the office after lunch extremely difficult! I will be sure to book in all my meetings and after work drinks here!
Apparently I am living under a rock as I have never been to Cruise Bar! I was pleasantly surprised as I never venture out this way how worth while the travel from Bronte to this venue was... AND it didn't even break the bank! Amazing design & décor, lovely and helpful staff, menu is great and VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR! Highly recommend.
You come to cruise bar for the incredible view, when there isn't a ship perched there of course. The most idyllic location for a long lunch and a couple of wines.
I ordered the salmon with corn salsa and potatoes. The salmon fillet was generous but paired with the corn salsa it just wasn't filling. I needed an extra three rosès to help fill me up. The skin however, was crisped to perfection and the salsa was indeed pleasant. Perhaps a few more potatoes to help fill the belly.
Perched next to the harbour, Cruise has a surprisingly unpretentious vibe once inside venue. Caught their live act on Saturday afternoon, and sitting outside made for a nice relaxed evening as the night rolled in. Melting pot of customers, there were plenty of families with kids, tourist crowd and Saturday-nighters glammed up ready to start early.
Wines by the glass are well priced considering location, although offers on this simple list are nothing out of the ordinary. Alongside the winelist, the food menu is also well priced given an expected silent surcharge in such a location it does surprise. Oysters with pickled cucumber and lime, are some of the best I've had.
Had a great night at Cruise. The views really don't get much better than this, especially during Vivid. We were ecstatic to walk in on a busy Saturday night and still get a front row table! Service was friendly, the vibe was buzzing. A great venue all round!
Been there last Tuesday. We have couple of drinks and some food including salt pepper squid. Myself being a chef, I felt chefs have less passion about how they present their food however it tested ok. Atmosphere is always great in this place.
Had a team party after a hectic day at work . Amazing view of opera house and cool ambience near the waterfront . For food we had cheese platters , fries and hummus /pits breads with drinks .All were good . Service was very friendly . Was not very crowded considering the location . Had s great time ...
Yummy share plates and views of opera house with outdoor tables on the waterfront. Tasty dishes, great with a few drinks to soak up the views.

My date might have been fluttering her eyelashes at me from across the table, but it was Cruise Bar's gorgeous twilight views of Sydney Harbour that I found myself lusting over. Sprawling across three levels, my date and I spent our evening at the oriental-inspired (and appropriately named) Junk Lounge on Level Two.Unable to resist an innovative cocktail, I opted for the refreshing and bubbly Shiso Flesh ($21)

Sir and M'Lady Dine Out is a restaurant, travel, bar and food journey across Australia and the world. Come with our group as we eat, drink, holiday and cook our way through life. Friday, 18 September 2015. CRUISE BAR - THE ROCKS, SYDNEY. 1-3 Overseas Passenger Terminal. Circular Quay West, Sydney. Cruise bar at the Overseas passenger terminal is more than a bar - It's an institution. Located right on Sydney's harbour with sweeping interrupted views of the skyline, it's a a garden oasis in a big city! The Cruise bar has been an iconic Sydney bar for over 15 years and after about a year off the radar, tastefully refurbishing itself, it opened its door again last week. We were lucky enough to be at their relaunch party!
For a moment in time, Cruise Bar’s Level One Bar space was that Tanqueray Pop up Bar and we popped in and had a couple of bites and checked out the sights of the Sydney Opera House all alit with colours and stardust. It was cold outside and Lvl 1 Cruisebar was a welcome revisit to one of Sydney’s best bar spots – with that view. This spot was always the Yin/Yang to Opera Bar – one gets you the view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the other the Opera House. Everybody wins.
Last night was a fantastic night feasting and reviewing the newly-designed and re-launched CRUISE BAR at the International Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, you may have heard its controversy last week, it was the venue that had the great opening launch with next-to-naked females as decorative food platters in the middle of the table, the country went into an uproar with threats of boycotts and so on, I was invited but was dying of flu in bed so had to miss it. Well the boycotts may appear to have been a huge puff of smoke because last night the place was packed. The fantastic Jai from CoCreate Communications asked if I wanted to review the venue and while I acted all cool and professional on the phone I was jumping up and down, the place looks fantastic and I was very very keen to review the venue, besides who doesn’t want to review a restaurant with arguably the best restaurant view in Australia having Circular Quay, The Opera House and Sydney Harbour in front of you? They have two venues for food, ground floor that opens outside serves Mediterranean and then JUNK LOUNGE, the mid level restaurant that serves Asian fusion, cocktails and has views of the harbour and Opera House one floor up – SOLD for JUNK LOUNGE :).
great hangout place for some drinks with the mates. awesome view of the harbour and opera house. shame i didn't know about this place sooner during the vivid light festival.
Came here for a quick drink and ended up staying for dinner and returning again the next night for drinks. Staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was excellent, with plenty of areas to eat and drink. Both meals and drinks were pretty cheap in comparison to other places in the area, but were still great quality. An amazing view of the opera house made the experience even better. Would definitely recommend this place.
Back in the day, when Sam and I first started dating, we spent a lot of time by the waters near the Overseas Passenger Terminal. After all, the area was shut down due to renovations, meaning that we had a quiet area near the scenic waters to relax and get to know each other. Well now that renovations are done and the dust has settled, Cruise Bar has reopened and looking to establish itself as a foodie destination. Touting a pan Asian menu on its second level (named Junk Lounge, named after the old world Hong Kong ships), Cruise Bar is jumping in with both feet…by offering Hainanese Chicken Rice.
Went here just before an event at the opera house on a quiet night and was impressed. Great food (the stuffed lamb was superb). Good service. Beautiful view (of circular quay and the opera house). The chef likes his salt, but I liked it too. Oh, the oysters. In a whole bunch of different dressings. Try them. Yum! In what can't be an inexpensive place for rent, Cruise Bar has managed to keep open for many years. Well done.
Last night, the boy & I dined at Cruise Restaurant & Bar located at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. Luckily for us, we scored free parking on Harrington St corner of Argyle St - it was so windy
Slow drinks service, amazing food and views.. I booked a reservation for 3 on a Monday night. I had had drinks at the bar on the lower level on the Saturday night previously and had a fantastic night that we decided to come back for dinner one night. The restaurant and views are spectacular. Views of the opera house and the harbour bridge. Quick tip: when you phone for your reservation, ask if there is a cruise ship docked. If there is, your view will be somewhat blocked.
Upon viewing the menu we ordered our drinks and food and sat and waited for our drinks. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And then watched 2 of our 3 drinks get poured and sit on the bartop. After another 5 minutes or so of gazing at the amazing harbour view we still didn't have our drinks. Getting thirsty, I went to the bar and ordered a whisky on the rocks and asked if we were getting all 3 of our drinks soon. The bartender said it will be over soon and apologised for the wait. I drank my whisky at the dinner table and watched as she made the 3rd drink and place it next to the other 2 drinks. We watched and waited for one of the friendly waitresses to bring our drinks over. And we waited. And waited. One of my guests got the drinks from the bar and bought them to the table as we were a thirsty bunch. I made a complaint to the manager and she said she would look into it. I was told there was a function on for 20 people and that the service may be a bit slow due to this.
Our food got to the table without a drama and it was amazing and delicious! We ordered 2 serves of the beef fillet medium rare and 1 serve of the pork belly. The beef was tender and tasty and the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. One of the beef fillets was cooked a little too rare for one of the guests, so we shared it amongst the others - I prefer my steak rare and it was cooked perfectly for me. I cannot fault the food at all, props to the chef.
After speaking to the manager about our slow start, she compensated 2 of our drinks. I didn't want any compensation, I was just a little disappointed that such a fantastic venue and restaurant was falling just that little bit behind with service & just wanted to make the manager aware so it doesn't happen to other guests - especially on a slow Monday night. Other than the slow start, the drinks, food, waitresses, bartender and manager were delightful and friendly.
I would definitely come back next time I am in Sydney.
Great place for a couple of drinks in the late afternoon sun. Friendly and quick service, relaxed atmosphere and delicious cocktails. Think I'll be back again soon!
Gd service and yummy food. Was a bit sceptical after reading some reviews, but food was v tasty, and a bit dear but of course you are paying for the view!! Worth a go
Everything great except the wait for service. We went to Cruise last Friday night, for a work meal for 7 diners.
The location, atmosphere, view, were all excellent, and the food and drink were very good. The only thing that was a bit embarrassing, was the prolonged wait for our orders to be taken, and for the first course to arrive. And for the bill. It felt like around 20 minutes for orders to be taken, then 30-45 minutes for meals to arrive.
It's a shame. Either their kitchen is overworked, or they need to hire more staff!
Service was great. Food presentation was disappointing in particular the lamb. Truffle risotto is the best I have ever had. Unfortunately only ordered as an entree. View and atmosphere was up there
The best spot to have a drink during Vivid festival. Great atmosphere and good music. We didn't want to leave!
Slick service!!!. Great setting by the harbour, the service was really above my expectations which is always good. Food was tasty & very well priced - my baby barramundi was divine & it looked pretty popular as there were quite a few leaving the open kitchen during our visit! My partner had the kangaroo dish which apparently they have only had on the menu for a month & is now their best selling dish (according to the manager Lewis). yum yum
We simply snacked on dips, lamb cutlets and drinks. A brilliant setting with a lovely atmosphere
Great venue, nice and relaxed.. Dropped in for a relaxed lunch and drinks the other weekend. Had good ratings and not hard to see why. The salad, potatoes, mushrooms and dips/olives we had were all side plate or entree size, but all very tasty and generous.
Great location with couches and tables outside would make this a fantastic place to just sit and watch the world go by on a fine day.
Absolutely fantasic venue and atmosphere, only been for cocktails so be sure to try the Valentini,
