Review Casa Ristorante Italiano - Sydney

Val Santos
Table settings feels very crowded. Good location due to facing the water view. Drinks: staff admitted that they run out of lemon thats why our drinks are tasteless. Returned the drinks 3 times to get the proper tastes. Pizza dough are good. Regardless of what toppings you choose its good. Customer service good. Priced accordingly.

Food is awesome in this restaurant. I have been to this place quiet many times now, the quality, service and taste is very consistent. Everything i order is tasty and service is always spot on. Highly recommended this place to try Italian cuisine. This restaurant located near king street wharf darling harbour, nice views around and very good area to spend some quality time with your family and friends.

No complaints here. We ordered the Mixed Platter for 4 and it could have fed 6! Excellent food. The platter had a great mix on it, was fresh and tasty. A very pleasant way to relax over lunch.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday night without a booking and the staff accommodated us straight away even though the restaurant was busy. Ordered a Margherita pizza and it was delicious and well worth the price. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Enjoyed our meal so much we came back the next day for lunch and tried the pepperoni pizza and a pasta dish. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Ordered Vegetarian Options... Great ambience, by the water...Portion sizes small... Penne Arabiata and Zucchini fritters had a good flavour, pesto gnocchi & Mojito Lychee Rose was ok and risotto was extremely bland. Pricey experience.

We went to dinner tonight at the restaurant la casa and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, authentic Italian products, a real treat. The location and the atmosphere of the place is also superb: warm, on the waterfront with a view on the harbour of Sydney. Finally, a special mention to the manager of the team who welcomed us and offered us an impeccable and warm service, really appreciable. I recommend this restaurant without moderation!

I absolutely loved Casa Ristorante Italiano’s delicious authentic Italian cuisine, refreshing cocktails and amazing waterfront views. I highly recommend the antipasto platter as the perfect way to start your meal, while the Filetto di Maiale, pork fillet wrapped in pancetta, is an absolute stand out, must order dish. We also enjoyed the mussels cooked in a spicy tomato sauce, served with toasted home made bread and one of their famous wood-fired pizzas. I definitely recommend a visit to Casa Ristorante Italiano.

Awesome pizza! I been to Casa many times over the last few years and the food is always delicious. Also their Tiramasu is a must try dessert. So good 👍 👍 👌

Had delicious pizzas, spaghetti and garlic bread while enjoying a lovely view of the Darling Harbour!

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! travelled globally and aside from a diner in Rwanda the service here is terrible. Some Irish witch was serving us and she was aggressive and rude to us and the few customers there. We had a booking for 10 got there first and said no way and left. we told the people out front to go anywhere else and they said they would anyways as they were waiting to be seated and she walked past them twice. typical tourist trap, get a good location sell to tourists who will eat there once with zero care factor with return clients because they're leaving town anyways. we told our darling harbour hotel manager to ensure their guests avoid this place and instead try the other many restaurants along the harbour. AVOID THIS PLACE

A few days ago, we went to Casa for a Pizza Making Class and had a great experience there. We had a lot of fun, the pizza was great and we enjoyed the wine afterwards as well. I'd definitely recommend the Pizza Making Class. Also, the view is incredible.

Pizza, pasta and cocktails are a must when visiting Casa Ristorante! You’ll also get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Darling Harbour while dining. Perfect for a chill weekend with friends and family.

Mi Casa Su Casa. When you dine with your family and friends in Casa, located in the heart of King Street Wharf Darling Harbour, you feel right at home. The Roman soldier statue near the entrance and colour theme of red, green and white suggest that the menu is Italian inspired, embracing rustic home style cooking in an alfresco setting.
@KeraBearEats
Dining alfresco at King Street Wharf in Darling Harbour is easy, with a beautiful view of the harbour, drawing the attention of locals and tourists alike. There is enough seating in the restaurant to cater to even the bigger of groups, meaning you can bring your party, no matter how big or small. Look for the Roman centurion statue.

The zucchini flowers were lovely, had kinda high expectations on the steak. Waited quite long for it but it turned out to be just alright, you could find lot of better steak restaurant around the area.
The mashed potato that came with one of our steak wasn’t fully mashed, we could literally taste the chunks of potato when eating it.
And the other plate was stuffed with heaps of baked potatoes at the bottom, portion size was weird because who would have eaten all that potatoes.
Pinch Of Bacon
The service was good and the drinks tasty. The big let down here was the food. The pizza had way too much tomato sauce. The ribs were tough and dry. One we will definitely give a miss!

This Italian restaurant is right next to the harbour. They have installed heating systems so that customers can enjoy sitting in open without facing the chills. The pizza that we ordered was authentic and yummy. The staff was also helpful and courteous.

Four stars. Pfftt are these reviews from people who know good food and good service? Or are they people who have no idea about either? Mother’s Day 2019 was a failure for me. Decided to bring mum out who btw was not able to walk properly and the rest of the family to Casa. Read the reviews great should be a good choice for such a special occasion. We get there excited and left very disappointed with the whole thing. Starting from waitresses that couldn’t speak English, to being interrupted during our entre’s to take our main orders. No tongs available in the house, while asking a waitress for tongs she motioned to use our forks to get the salad and did the face that was the smart thing to do. Our entree servings were cleared before we could finish them. No one asked if we had finished. No cutlery with our mains until they’re were stone cold. Our mains plates were cleared and no one asked us if we wanted another drink. While chatting and trying to enjoy our Mother’s Day we were rudely interrupted by a waiter who flashed the bill in our face. My brother looked at the waiter and said ‘we are not ready for the bill, May we please have dessert and coffee menu’? The waiter was actually frustrated and returned with the menu’s. Food very mediocre and the pasta was raw it still had flour between the fettuccini. Just dipped in hot water and served raw. The sauce tasted raw. Clearly not an Italian chef. How do we explain this to our mum and to ourselves, a $900 bill $80 for Mother’s Day loading, money thrown away on a terrible experience. It’s a big price to pay just to see darling harbour, the bridge and the opera house. When we walked in, there were no customers in the joint, this should’ve been a good sign. About 4/5 young waiters chatting and laughing at the front of the bar, totally disinterested in looking after us, not a big ask but we cannot eat our steak and salmon and fettuccini with our fingers. Where are the restaurant critics to shame this place so that customers no longer get ripped off?

Located on Sydney’s stunning King Street Wharf, Casa Ristorante Italiano is serving up a fusion of contemporary and traditional Italian dishes based on what produce is in season!
To go with the Italian dishes, it’s one of the best spots on on the harbour with amazing views and perfect for a refreshing beverage whilst watching the world go by!

I was not happy with my pizza. Too much bread and not enough toppings. The prawns still had that poo line on them. I am not even sure if they were fresh. Won't come back.

Loved the food, loved the ambience specially the harbour view. We ordered 4 individual items and each one was amazing. I'm sure you order anything there you will love it's taste.

A very well located place with Fantastic views of the Harbour bridge!

The beers were coming fast and we were well served by their team on a hot sunny afternoon.

We had some pizzas. Both chicken and pepperoni ones were great. The dough was well baked and the toppings were just right.

Overall, a great place to hang out right at the Darling Harbour.

They have recently launched their new breakfast menu, a simple yet well thought out menu with some great sweet options too. I opted for the highly recommended Chef’s Pan, Bircher muesli and a strawberry smoothie. The Chef’s Pan came with sauteed mushrooms, bacon, spinach, eggs your way and a grilled tomato. A lovely version of a breakfast board, and the poached egg came topped with a silky hollandaise sauce which was beautifully creamy.

The green salad and entree pizza was incredible, we were both satisfied with the food. Maybe service could have been a little more polite and efficient, like giving us some table water, but overall they were pretty good to us.

Loved the place for it’s beautiful ambiance. The Italian pizza was amazing. Had a beautiful summer evening at this place. Wud love to come back

This was my second time here and is my last.

Ordered off the lunch menu, whilst it offers food value if you pick the right dishes, I ordered the halloumi salad which was horrible. Firstly, it was most a bowl full of undressed rocket and leaves. There was barely any dressing except a drizzle of balsamic on the top.
Then there was the lack of veg and the veg that was used was clearly canned. Canned beetroot and w scattering or chick peas. Some pumpkin but everything was on the skimpy side.
There were four slices of grilled halloumi, that was the only part that was somewhat the only enjoyable bit. I understand that the salad was part of the lunch specials for $16.90, bur at this price, I can’t believe high un-generous the amount of ingredients were provided it was mostly canned. Not quality at all, a very disappointing dish.

I had requested for a table with a view so we got that which was a tick as I took overseas visitors here.

Our friends had ordered the kids meals for their children which came with ice cream for dessert, we had to char them several times before they eventually gave it to us.

I previously rated this place average but now it won’t be a place I recommend in my view.
Cynthiaeats_
Was super keen to eat here while passing through Barangaroo as I had fond memories of this restaurant the last time I visited.

I arrived after 3pm and ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentina (v) ($16.90) from their Express Lunch Menu and the Hawaiian Woodfire Pizza ($15) from their Happy Hour Menu.

The napoletana sauce on gnocchi had a beautiful and rich tomato flavour and really complemented the gnocchi well. The gnocchi itself was a bit stodgy and stuck to the roof of my mouth which wasn't the most pleasant feeling.

I loved the thin crust on the Hawaiian woodfire pizza and the smokey woodfire smell and taste. Given my previous experience at Casa Ristorante Italiano, I was expecting more so was somewhat disappointed by the lack of wow factor and amount of toppings there were on the pizza. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't order this again.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

Definitely more 3.5/5 than a 4 but zomato doesn’t give me the option.

Between three we ordered off the lunch specials. We ordered the grilled barramundi with radish and potato’s, the bbq chicken pizza and the quinoa and chicken salad.

All meals were extremely large portions and super filling. Everyone found their dishes to be tasty. The barramundi tasted really fresh, but didn’t have too much flavour on it.

This is a real nice place to sit and enjoy the good weather. Service is friendly and attentive.

Came here for a weekday dinner. This venue is located in King Street Wharf and overlooking Sydney Harbour. Great decor with relaxing ambience. Seating area is very spacious and can easily accommodate large groups of people.
The Pork Ribs (served with fries) were not bad but I would love the fries to be more crispy.
The Crispy Pork Belly was amazing. Crispy crackling with juicy meat. Highly recommend.
For dessert we ordered Chocolate Brûlée Dome. Delicious and beautifully plated.
Luxx Food
Such a beautiful location, but the food wasn’t all that... I unfortunately had a big let down with my pizza as it was not nice at all... and I love my pizza... entrees where ok drinks where good, maybe next time I’ll try the pasta??
AmseeC
Saw the express lunch menu and decided to visit with the team for lunch. Portion was good but took more than 20 mins to arrive and it was disappointing, barramundi was too dry so were the potatoes.
Alex Williams
Really great authentic pasta dishes and friendly staff. The decor, food and the view are fantastic. I always stop by when i'm travelling to Sydney.

Situated on king wharf, restaurant got amazing water views. We went on busy Saturday night and reached an hour early from our original booking time. Servers out there spot a smile on face and very attentive. I loved the service out here and food was served quickly. We order the classic margarita, vegetarian pizza along with four cheese gnocchi. Food was good but it’s difficult to justify the price. There is nothing wrong with all dishes we ordered but again nothing special.
We finished our dinner with trimashu, which was also good but missing wow factor.

Snapshots Of Food
Casa Ristorante is located on Sydney's waterfront King Street Wharf. You won't miss the two Roman Centurion statue as you walk by the wharf. Casa Ristorante is great for Italian food, think wood fired pizza and pasta. Zucchini Flowers & Arancini. We started the evening with Zucchini flowers stuffed with fetta, black olives, semi dried tomatoes and served with chilli mayo. The batter was extremely crispy and the zucchini flower was perfectly seasoned. Each bite was perfection. We think the zucchini flower at Casa Ristorante is one of the best in Sydney. Once you're done with the creamy stuffing, entice your tastebuds by introducing another element. Take a bite into the crunchy fried saffron infused risotto balls filled with peas, ragu and mozzarella - becareful - the arancini balls are served piping hot.

Went to this restaurant, pasta was great and so was the wood fire pizza. However the Giant prawns were Horrible! Smelled like week old Fish. My wife took one bite and told the waiter they were unacceptable. He said to bad and charge us anyway. Stay away from the restaurant at all cost!
Casa Ristorante Italiano is located on King St Wharf and is a popular spot for groups of people who want to enjoy the bright outside area with a water view. It's a sunny day and I aim to absorb the sunlight and views!. We kick off our meal at Casa Ristorante with a cheeky drink. I go for my usual red wine while Matt goes for a Stone Wood Beer. I look out into the water and see a few seagulls flying about. The venue is starting to fill out with lots of families chatting away on this particular Sunday.

Wonderful staff, tasty food and amazing view. Perfect !!!

We went for the lunch time happy hours and ordered Chicken parmigiana and the sirloin. Both were tasty and filled up our stomach too. The sirloin was cooked perfectly - Medium - the way we love it. For the chicken dish, I wish they had put a little sauce on the second piece of chicken which was stacked under. It was a bit dry without the sauce.
Otherwise with respect to taste and service no complaints at all.
Damien Y
My wife enjoyed her crab, lobster and scallop ravioli. Kids enjoyed their bolognese. The Sofr cheese and Parma ham entree was superb. Sadly, my Bistecca alla Fiorentina was very disappointing. Not sure what cut it was, maybe the dreg-end of a t-bone, but it was thin and over cooked. I’d asked for medium rare but there was barely any pink left - mind you, it would have been a challenge to cook a steak that thin to medium rare. By the time anyone came by, the rest of the family had finished eating, so I just asked for it to be removed from the bill, which, to their credit, they did without fuss. It’s a shame because I like this place, but maybe best to stick to pizza and pasta if you go.

I do like coming here because the food is pretty good. Though yesterday I had an experience where the stuff were severely under trained, my table went through 3waiters and it felt like none of them were ever trained on how to wait a table.

Came here for dinner on a weekend night. Staff weren't very tentative, they kept removing empty plates from the table but didn't ask if we needed more water, eventually we asked one of the waiters to get some more water. Food was okay & only just being served at warm temperature not hot. I had the pappardelle ragu, the pasta itself was all stuck together, not separated properly when cooked. Drinks took a long time to come & the diaquiri wasn't really nice. The deserts were probably the best dishes of the night.
Orange_tree
Not a bad spot for a team lunch as they can accommodate large groups. The lunch menu is well-prices, ranging from about $14 - $20. Portions varied between dishes. The pasta and pizzas were large; the barramundi and steak were on the smaller side. The restaurant was quite empty when we were there but it still took a bit of time for everyone's meals to be ready. Service was friendly and attentive.
Spooning Australia
Absolutely loved this place and was going to hold off my review until I couldreturn and do a full review but time is passing and havent made it back. Took the parents here for a quick dinner prior to Vivid earlier in 2017. It was a Saturday night, it was completely packed and the service was flawless. Never dropped a beat. We had some great cocktails and an amazing wood-fired pizza and they had some very affordable specials. Will definitely be returning to Casa Ristorante and look forward to smashing more of that menu.

Was very much looking forward to eating here.
Ordered the caesar salad with grilled chicken.
Was fine, pretty average.
UNTIL, i found/ was confronted with a VERY long brown/ red piece of hair.
Definitely came from a female given how long it was.
And given how long it was and how much it entangled around the food, I just felt absolutely disgusted and could not eat anymore.
I was horrified. I have found hair in my food at restaurants before, but it's always a short piece of hair. Not a HUGE, LONG, WINDING piece going through the plate.

At least they had the decency not to charge me for my meal.
I should have taken a photo. But no, unfortunately I was too much in shock.

What a great NYE night! The service from the start was fantastic from trying to book in to cancelations, everything was very well organised! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was amazing! The dj was great fun and even though there was no dance floor, the staff had no problem with everyone getting up and dancing... the staff even joined in! Incredible!

We went for the Banquet here so we get a taste out of more plates. Unfortunately Casa Ristorante Italiano didn't cut it for me. It was just an overpriced place with very bland dishes. This place is only good for people who want to sit somewhere and feel privileged at the location, perhaps a couple on their first date. If you're actually here for good food, you can try somewhere else. The only thing worth mentioning was their service, the waiters/waitresses were very prompt and friendly. In terms of the food; sadly the Kalamata Olives were the nicest item of the Entrée. The Spaghetti Bolognese was too plain and bordering tasteless, there were massive pieces of mince the size of mini steaks (see picture). I've had nicer spag bowls at much cheaper places. The Tortiglioni: Very ordinary, creamy, well cooked, however missing a richer taste. Siciliana WoodFire Pizza: Hopeless, cheese ran off the base, eggplant had no taste. What's the worst part though? the Coffee. You'd think you could order a nice coffee at a very Italian restaurant and get something decent. Nope, admittently I've had McCafe coffee that was 10 times better than this. The beans must have been stale or around 6 weeks old.

Almost all restaurants at Darling harbour are amazing including this one .. the setting- unbelievable right across the harbour overlooking the sea, the sun, the ships, the boats and some nice pizza 🍕.. 👍🏻

Overall the ambience was pretty good, the dessert was satisfactory, and the customer service was friendly. That being said the view was quite nice.

Awesome location! Grabbed a steak and pizza both amazing, steak cooked perfectly sooo tender, chicken pizza amazing flavours. Average pricing $69 including 2 beers! Will be going back before we leave Sydney
The Hand That Bites
Great food, great views and great staff. I really enjoyed my visit and the pizza chef makes some great pizza. Highly recommend the ravioli and pork belly. The crispy pork belly was my favourite.
Chicca Fumagalli
It's not Italian food! I can't forget this place, Carbonara was like pasta with butter and ham, with a lot of garlic which made me vomit in the night!
Bradpat
Food very below standard for the location. We ate at Lotus (Barangaroo) for lunch and then ate at Casa (Barangaroo) for dinner. CASA was like eating from Woolies or Coles in comparison to quality.

Waitress was nice and very polite. Atmosphere music not Italian themed.

Very limited Italian wines, so the whole Italian experience was non-existent. Just another plain restaurant. If you want the full Italian experience, try elsewhere.

Nice experience on Friday evening. Ordered Chicken cacciatore pizza and Moretti.. Ambience, staff and food was nice. Place was very cosy and warm. Deserve atleast one visit.

Perfect spot for work or casual lunches. Good for dates and groups in general (corporate, friends and family). A great variety in their lunch specials menu and good value. Super relaxing and a lovely space.
Kris Oliveria
Appaling service. The waiter mock me from asking if they do offer the Citi dining program during lunch time. Using Citi bank issued credit card you get a free bottle of wine if everyone in the group order a main course which we did. Uninformed waiter told me that they don't give away expensive wine in a bad tone of voice which makes me look really bad in front of my peers. Upon checking with his manager they do actually do the offer and provided us the wine without asking for apology and he seems dragging his feet to serve us after the incident. I will never go back to this place nor bring any colleague ever. This will be reported to Citi bank as well as a complain.
Ellylovestoeat
Very lovely atmosphere located on king st. wharf. Location was perfect , service was ok but often was left waiting for someone to come over to our table. On a positive was accommodated well in a lovely booth with a last minute booking. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Dessert was delicious also. Not too bad overall.
Jasmine Glonek Allsopp
Food came in two minutes which was suspicious in itself.. spaghetti bolognese more like a soup with tin spaghetti, food was luke warm and overpriced
Maureen Grace Kuran
This place is just in front of king street wharf, they are open for dining even on a cut off time, some restaurants around barangaroo and surroundings are closed around 3-5 for dinner prep. The ambience is great, price is reasonable and the Customer Service is Outstanding! Our entre was serve quickly, but the main was delayed about 50 mins, as they were busy at that time coz of a function, and we ordered full rack of ribs and lasagne as a main, despite of this delay, the manager ask us if we're ok, then we told him that our main hasn't arrived yet, as good mangers did he went and fix it straight away, and apologise for the misunderstanding and delay, he also gave us a free booze for the inconvenience. No questions ask or rude behaviour. Other staff also makes sure that we're ok, it's just the main that we had a prob but it's all ok as their service and how busy it is on that day makes it understandable. It was on a Thursday 4pm. Would recommend. Food is great too!

Brilliant !
Simply outstanding!
The ambience, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere !!!
Very limited vegetarian options...
Very helpful staff, quick service, delicious food and the sea breeze !
Vinothkc
Very average food and the pepperoni pizza we ordered was less tasty and could not enjoy a bit despite our hunger 😒. The ambience overlooking the Harbour was awesome and the furniture / couches in the outdoors should definitely be revisited as for kids and short people they are really uncomfortable. The choice of sauces were limited and not sure if this is across Australia as they seem to enjoy it with the food's natural taste unlike us Indians who are spoilt to add sauce for a lot of food items including Pizza.

Casa is an Italian restaurant situated on King St Wharf Darling Harbour. The perfect spot to enjoy waterfront dining in Sydney. With a great selection of drinks to choose from especially if you have built up a thirst checking out the sights.

There is a good selection of starters to choose from, the stuffed zucchini flowers turned out to be a good choice, full of flavour.

It was a nice warm evening, so the insalata (salads) were appealing especially the polpi(octopus) salad served with cherry tomatoes, celery, lettuce and a citrus dressing.

For something more substantial there was a choice of homemade pastas, protein and pizzas from the woodfired oven. Couldn't go past the woodfired pizza tonight, the Dia Vola turned out to be a good choice. A tasty pizza topped with salami, gorgonzola, roast capsicum and chilli.

Great food, location and hospitality. Well worth a visit if passing by.

Located along king st wharf, Casa has both outdoor alfresco seating as well as interior seating. On a nice day it would be a nice relaxing place. I came for lunch and they have lunch specials for around $15-20 which is on par with many other places along the water. The steak I got was decent but the sauce lacked a wow factor and a little light on flavour.
Justin Dombrowski
$5 drinks & $15 pizzas during happy hour, 3-6. Solid offer for this neck of the woods. Only wish it were later. Or maybe more expansive. But now I'm just typing stuff to fill my 140 character limit. I hope this is enough.
Hannah Augood-Rason
Stopped by with a few girlfriends for a catch up and dinner. We luckily made happy hour! So we made the most of the cocktails on offer! Absolutely delicious! We fancied a few dishes that we could share so we ordered a couple of pizzas (they have smoked salmon pizza! I was impressed!) as well as some calamari and arancini. We could see the wood fire pizza oven from our table and our pizzas being cooked! The food was amazing and I can't wait to try more of the menu! 😋It's also in a fab location to watch all the boats in the harbour.
Veronica
Service was poor. Sat for at least 20 minutes waiting for a waiter to come and take our order.
We asked for water .... well, we are still waiting.
The food was okay but the service is probably one of the worst that we (I) have experienced. Never coming again. I would not recommend.

Not bad at all. We were greeted with smiles. The food came out quite quickly but still fresh. The food wasn't the greatest but the atmosphere and the friendly staff made up for a good late dinner.
Rebecca Tay
We came in time for happy hour and ordered a Hawaiian pizza and some drinks.
The pizza was good value for money ($15) and enough to hold over 2 people. The $8 cocktails were served in tall glasses and more substantial than what you'd expect.
Service was friendly however few for the large area. I'd recommend this place for groups - a spacious and casual setting for drinks and nibbles.

A group of 9 friends decided to meetup for dinner after drinks and we were not able to find a place open around 10pm on a Friday night, however the kitchen was still open at this restaurant thankfully. The service is good, the food was good and the atmosphere is also good. A lovely place for a quick meal. Nothing too fancy but serves a good quick meal.

If you like you food fast and lukewarm, this is the place to go. Twice we sent back our pizza..twice came back as if had been sat in a bench for ten minutes before being brought to is. Service staff didn't care, acted as if we were the inconvenient. Won't step foot in the place again, plenty of other places along DH that offer hot food.
Cory Savitri
I was here last year on December, one of the busiest month in Sydney and turned out this place was almost full with customers. Impressed with the food quality especially their pasta with fresh prawns! Love it!
Only the services was kinda let down, maybe because it was full and they're kinda busy. We had to wait for almost half an hour only to get our water coming. But i might come back again for the foods :)
Nancy
I came here for dinner with a friend on a Thursday night. We arrived at about 5:30 and it was mostly empty. I ordered the tortiglioni pasta. I really enjoyed my dish! The only critique I would say is that it probably could have done without the olives. The sauce however was delicious. My friend had the nonnas meatballs pizza and she was dissatisfied. The meatball flavour was too strong and she found herself picking off the meatballs and eating a plain pizza. I had a mocktail and she had a cocktail (which she also found very strong). It seems like this place is a bit of a hit and miss. Service was friendly but after a while not one waiter/waitress walked past our table so we were left sitting and waiting for the bill. I did enjoy my meal but it appears that it can be rather inconsistent. The view however is gorgeous and prices are reasonable compared to others in the area.
Ivan
The pizza was nice but there should be more options on the menu. Not just plain everyday-average menus that everyone knows, But the view is nice. But the taste in most food is bland.
Missy Lam
The place has great vibes and it's a beautiful place to eat in neat casual attire. I had dinner at Casa on a busy Saturday night. It's definately a vibrant place to grab a drink with some mates but not so much to have a sit down meal.

The food is bland and don't expect great service.

I ordered a vegetarian pasta and an Italian red glass and my partner ordered the chicken cacciatore pizza and a garlic bread entree. The dish was tasteless and screaming out for some seasoning. For the price you're paying you'd definately expect higher standard food. Apparently the chicken on my partner's pizza was dry and the thin crust base is similar to Domino's pizza. There's also no bread rolls!! They had garlic bread that we ordered as an entree but no bread rolls with butter Italian restaurants usually served at the beginning of a meal.

The manager provided great service. He checked up on us every so often to make sure everything was okay. The wait staff need more training. The service wasn't terrible it was just little things like literally lifting up my menu while I was reading it to place a plate under. It'd been raining outside so there was water and gunch on the menu that transfered onto my plate. It was also difficult to catch a wait staff's attention which was needed quite often; to get a drinks menu, getting some water half way through our meal, asking for a salt and pepper grinder. Even the bartender was more attentive and provided better wait service.
Nothing beats a good Italian pizza. So you can image my excitement when an afternoon stroll down darling harbour ended with some wood fired pizza... On special! This restaurant first attracted my friends attention with the furniture (she really liked the setup) and my dads attention with the afternoon Friday pizza special. I think it was $10 pizzas from 3-5:30pm.

We went for the Hawaiian and Vegetarian; it was sooo worth it. They were decent sizes which satisfied 5 of us for an afternoon snack. The bases were thin, with puffy and soft edges. There wasn't an overload of toppings, and overall the pizzas were light and left us feeling great and not overly full and pudgy.

We also had a side of calamari. This tasted really good, but was a bit pricey.

Nice staff, but it was a long wait - I guess the cheap pizzas were popular. The regular menu looked a bit pricy, but I would love to come back here for dinner one night.

Went to Casa Ristorante in a large group for a friends birthday. The food was average and I could tell the dishes would be expensive if it were to be 1 dish per person. Seeing as we had such a large group, we decided to share so we all were able to try a lot of different food in one go. It only ended up being $23pp due to the food sharing. The staff were quite attentive to us, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I think there's better italian food around Sydney, but this place is not too bad if you're after something in the Darling Harbour area.

Casa Ristorante Italiano is the exact reason why I don't dine at restaurants in Darling Harbour. Overpriced food and wait staff that is inattentive. We both ordered salads which were well overpriced for a bowl of lettuce leaves with a few extras. Once our meal was served we had to get our own cutlery. Then when paying the bill the bar staff tried to argue with me why we didn't get the 3pm drinks specials when we specifically ordered these with the waiter.

The "hostess" (with long dark hair) wanted to seat the of of us at a 3 seater table (a 4th seat would not have been easily possible without being in the way of everything), she was very unfriendly to most people and was chewing gum the whole time we were there, and on her phone as well at any moment she had a chance. This "hostess" without the "hostess" was a total put-off from the whole place and the reason that we won't be back. When she seated us, she literally threw the menus down onto the table in front of us. Not sure if she hates her job or just the world.........she doesn't deserve to have that job!!!! ......and they add a $2.50 per person Sunday surcharge on top on the bill.

had lunch here on a Monday afternoon, ordered calamari for entree, Calamari was cooked nicely but they obviously ran out of the sauce for the side and decided to pour some plain mayonnaise on the plate. Main was slow cooked lamb Papardelle, meat wasnt freshly cookee, and the papardelle was soooo wrongly cooked they were all sticking together and overcooked.
After trying to separate pasta pieces from eachother for so long I gave up and left my main there in a messy situation.
but I guess that's the quality of food you get when you eat in Darling Harbor the touristy side of the town.
Staff were friendly but not the most attentive.

Horrible dining experience. Waited for 1.5 hours for our food to arrive and when it did-
the food was underwhelming. The whole experience was capped by rude staff who repeatedly gave us the wrong drinks. For those who plan on dining here, please note the beautiful harbour views will be compromised by overpriced and below average dining.

Situated in the heart of the city Darling Harbour, it's one of the finest Italian restaurants in Sydney. The quantity is of food is nice and trust me it ain't heavy on the pocket either. Great ambience.. Simple, trendy and buzzing on a Saturday night. My favourite was Calamari Fitti and not to forget a good selection of wine to go with ya food.

Stopped by here for dinner following a day-trip to the blue mountains and boat ride down the Paramatta river. Excellent location in front of the harbour. I decided to go for a woodfire pizza and ordered the Maialina containing prosciutto and mascarpone cheese. Pizza came out quite fast but was unfortunately cold which I realised after taking my first bite. Upon advising the waiter he took the pizza away and came back with it a few minutes later, however the slice that I took a bite from was missing. The pizza was basically shoved back into the oven and the slice I took a bite from was thrown out. Whilst waiting in line to pay I overheard a patron also complaining about his meal arriving cold and demanding a discount. The pizza itself was ultimately good but this was overshadowed by the disappointing client service. Typical for a restaurant in the middle of an area popular with tourists.

The food was amazing here. I loved the sauce - it was fantastic. The restaurant is also pretty cozy and the drunks were fantastic. I wish the portion sizes were a bit larger though. My friend finished his meal so fast. There wasn't much on the plate. So, falling a bit on the expensive size relative to what we got.

The location of this resturaunt would probably sweep off your feet. Yeah Kings Street Wharf! But the food is not upto that. Went for a casual lunch with my colleagues. We ordered some pizza that was not bad. The wine was smooth.

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE !!!! . To surprise my girlfriend on our 2 year anniversary I took her to Casa Ristorante Italiano, this was the BIGGEST MISTAKE. The food was quick to come but they obviously did not take enough care to inspect each meal before serving it to their customers. After beginning to eat we noticed that our pizza started to move and after inspection we noticed that under the slice of salami was in fact a Cockroach !!! calling the staff over they apologized and called the manager over who knew very little English and was unable to communicate. This was about the same time the rain gutters broke and flooded some of the tables, wetting the customers and ruining their meals. That was the last straw, I paid the bill refusing to pay for the Cockraoch pizza and left this so called fine establishment, in the hope of trying to make this special day better.I hope you take caution and learn from my mistake as I for one will never be visiting this DISGUSTING restaurant ever again.

Terrible experience. Went in for the happy hour and told the woman at the door I would order a bite to eat. After ordering drinks and getting them (suprisingly) we were sat for 30 minutes waiting to order food looking round. Another table walked out for waiting longer than us in the same waiters section. We knew it was his section because he already moaned at the “manager” for moving a table in his section. We gave up waiting and went to pay for our drinks where the manager then argued with us when we complained about the service. He was rude and obnoxious. There was no atmosphere and the whole staff looked miserable.

Came here for a quick lunch before heading to the aquarium. Service was fantastic & everyone was very attentive. Such a beautiful location, looking out into the harbour! Between the 2 of us we shared a vegetarian pizza and it was scrumptious!

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic customer service. The location is right on the wharf and is perfect to take friends if they are from out of town. The menu is authentic italian and they have a nice woodfire pizza oven to satisfy all your pizza dreams.

Great service here. Very friendly and efficient. The food came out so quickly. It was lightning fast! I had the Fiori Di Zucca, Papardelle Al Ragu Di Agnello, and Classic Tiramisu. All tasted great and very happy with the food.

I have been to Casa a few times mainly for the views and pizza. Although italians would never put pineapple on pizza, all their other pizzas are pretty good! We found some hard plastic pieces one day on our pizzas - very dangerous as we almost swallow them. They apologised about it and offered us two tiramisu on the house. Service is very kind and views are really nice.

Honestly, I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant in my life, and I'm easy to please. I love food and eating out at great restaurants when I can. We were greeted with a frown and upon being seated were told, by our server, that we shouldn't have sat there and her manager was upset with us. She reluctantly took our drink order and then didn't deliver after 15 minutes. The floor manager then came by and angrily asked who sat us there and ran off to yell at the staff. Then a different server came back and proceeded to berate us for creating a problem. The entire experience was confusing and hostile and I don't expect to ever step foot in this restaurant again. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone, ever. All we wanted was something to eat and a drink, and we got neither. Terrible.

I only went here for a few drinks but the Darling Harbour location was splendid !! Really appreciated the atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant is fantastic ! Meals were also appealing can't wait to try next time

Casa Ristorante Italiano is an attractive, stylishly decorated eatery open to the fresh air. Tonight we had that Middle Eastern classic - Orange Jaffa Cake and decidedly nuovo pizzas: Nutella Pizza and Apple Crumble Pizza.

An excellent family restaurant. Good sized meals, great wait staff and excellent atmosphere. We went here on a Friday night and were very impressed. Try the zucchini flowers and mussels

Deceiving food. Don't order the rib eye or seafood risotto. The rib eye we were served was a rump steak. The seafood risotto was an entree size instead of a main. We were there for a birthday with a group of 40 and these were on the banquet menu. It cost us $100 per head for 3 courses and drinks. Not worth the time or money spent there.

E F Tours. Avoid this place if you are accustomed to service from the staff and its quite obvious that management does not care which is reflected by their don't give a damm about about the customer. Food is over priced and nothing special.
Another Disgruntled Punter
Average food. Poor service. Dirty. Only plus point is the view and soft seating at the front - although they didn't let us sit there as only three of us were eating; the seats remained empty for the whole time we sat there. We would have ordered another drink but sitting in an empty restaurant looking at dirty plates and glasses for 20 mins was enough for us. So reasonable view, crap service and food

Dining harborside has never been a preference of mine (apart from my tourist mandatory stop over at Hurricanes Grill) since most restaurants located by the waters tend to rock the boat slightly with their over-the-top menu pricings and sub-standard food. I was invited recently to a special event held at Casa Ristorante located along the less populous King Street Wharf; to celebrate its re-opening with a brand new interior design as well as the launch of a spanking new menu. Apprehension and nerves set in as a swarm of trigger-friendly, hungry bloggers filled up the room. Nothing binds strangers faster than the presence of sharing platters, social graces start to appear ( camera etiquette especially ) and opinions start surfacing as the invitees warmed up to each other. The Chef's selection of antipasti entrees was a sight for sore eyes, the dried cured meats satisfying the peckish within the group immediately. A favorite of mine was the grilled vegetables drizzled with olive oil and fi

Sydney’s popular waterfront dining district, King St Wharf, has welcomed a new kid on the block with the opening of the newly launched Casa Ristorante Italiano . Myself and fellow FFS bloggers, Bianca and Alex, were invited* to dine at Casa and sample the new menu which is packed full of traditional Italian dishes. This latest venture from The Platinum Restaurant Group, whose list of establishments include Blackbird Café and Manly’s Whitewater Grill, has recently undergone an impressive modern fit out, creating a sophisticated al fresco dining experience with no amount of detail spared. The centrally focused bar, where an extensive range of unique cocktails are mixed and served, is an eye-catching feature of the restaurant. This, coupled with the fresh grocery display and the pizza mak

... okay, let's just say I had to swivel my head to see if anyone just heard the very loud, unlady-like crunch when I bit into the crazily crispy skin. The crunchiness was unreal! And forgive me for sounding like a prepubescent boy but oh man, I gotta get me some of DAT next time!

XD

My spaghetti marinara that was doused in squid ink sauce came afterwards and I wasn't disappointed. Fresh prawns and mussels abound, making for one very pleasing pasta dish. The spaghetti was also al-dente, just the way everyone likes it!

Finally, something actually decent on touristy King Street Wharf! Casa Ristorante Italiano has recently re-opened after a major renovation by the same guys who did Alpha and China Republic. It’s mainly outdoor seating which makes total sense because with a view like that sitting inside seems almost pointless.
I'm Still Hungry
Moving onto the mains, we first have the chicken saltimbocca, which was excellent, really. The only real complaint was that the chicken skin really got in the way. Casa Di Nico didn’t turn the skin crispy, but rather left it as the soggy mess it is in its natural state. If it’s like that, it needs to be removed. Soggy skin is a no no. The chicken was also a little dry (why does every piece of chicken I taste seem dry? I need my taste buds checked out…).

Over the past few weeks we’d noticed that Casa Di Nico had closed down but had no idea that Platinum Restaurant Group were planning to relaunch a new restaurant on the same premises. I have to admit that I really like the beautiful new interiors of the restaurant which were created by the same guys behind Alpha and China Republic which look just as amazing, they all have a great theme to go by. King Street Wharf has always been known as a tourist strip with lots of bars and restaurants that don’t offer much in terms of quality of food but rely more on the location and views for customers.

The views here are amazing! The new Casa Ristorante Italiano sits right on King St Wharf looking out across the water towards the Maritime Museum and Darling Harbour. They've kept parts of the previous menu but added to it cleverly. We started with one of our favourites when eating Italian - arancini.

Great Italian food with wide selections of cocktails, great ambiance with beautiful harbour-side view, service is friendly and accommodating, price is reasonable with the quality of food served.
The Random Foodie
Overall, I found that Casa Ristorante Italiano has been one of the better waterfront dining joints that I've tried especially with the quality, presentation and taste of the dishes. Even though I probably would not be back as often since the prices are still at the more expensive end (though standard for tourist, waterfront restaurants), I would love to return back again to try more of the dishes from the menu especially the desserts, pizzas and that pork belly.
