BL burgers never disappoints! 5/5 every time. Probably wouldn’t recommend their onion rings though. Everything else is amazing!
Nothing really compares to bar Luca burgers whether it’s a regular cheeseburger to the full blame Canada with the candied bacon. Not much to say but it’s everything you expect, soft bun, greasy burger, flavourful fries and to wash it down with some soda on a Monday arvo.
Really great place for having burgers they have one of the fastest services I have ever seen if you really want some great snacks this place is a must visit the staff is really friendly
Solid burgers! Great options in the menu, if you're going for the first time get a blame Canada, you won't be disappointed. Great beef patties, maple bacon very flavoursome and buns are decent, they were a little dry on one of the days I went. I've been multiple times and the fact they are consistent will be the reason I keep returning.

The beef patty’s are amazing! The burgers are full of flavor and the bacon is super crispy - just the way I like it. Next time I’ll be trying to the chicken
Oh damn...... it had a litttle bit of a kick but nothing i couldn't handle. The special was spot on as it had that Cheeky kick of Chilli that hit you afterwards. Their special was as good as always. I do love my Peri Peri and it was pretty delicous. I couldn't resist Adding something and why not some Liquid Cheese.

Amazing burgers ... My favourite burgers are the spicy range. The Flame Canada (beef) and the Chicanada (Fried chicken burger) The sweet and spicy got me all hyped up and even the buns has chilli flakes in it!!! Add a fried cheese paddy .... You are welcome!

Chunkier burgers great for hunger strikes, whilst not in the absurdly large camp. Menu's fairly stock-standard but reasonably priced. Atmosphere is fairly plain and stark but suits the edgy urban burger-restaurant theme they were probably going for, fit with a graffiti wall and drum & bass music.
The Blame Canada burger was likely the best burger I’ve ever eaten in my life. Imagine sweet brown sauces oozing on a bed of juicy beef and caramelised bacon, with a lip-smacking toasted bun. Worth every burger connoisseur’s time to head over here! I’ll definitely come back.
The blame Canada with 3 Patty's and a cheese patty and peanutbutter is always a winner and they have the best sweet potato fries in the game .

The best burger I’ve had!! Ordered the Blame Canada and enjoyed every single bite of it. Loved the sauce, the sweet bacon, the perfectly cooked patty and the chips! Got messy while eating it but if I visit sydney again I will definitely come back again. Super recommended 👍🏻
Was extremely excited to try this place after hearing its one of Sydneys best. Tried the blame Canada and it did not disappoint. Awesome combination of flavours cooked really well. Would be happy to smash another 2 or 3.
My mate and I had the BL beef burgers and we are quite foody people and these burgers tasted awesome ! Would definitely recommend. Only little minus on the fries, not that crunchy and were missing a touch of salt !

What a tasty chicken burger! Very juicy and nicely fried. I was almost disappointed the karage chicken was gone from the menu, but this one is very well done as well. I ditched the bacon coz i thought the whole thing would be too greasy.
Small place that can get busy, but people come and goes pretty quickly.
I loved their Blame Canada. The sauce and patty was really good. But the last time i visited there, proportion of sauce was changed. Too much white sauce made the burger greasy.
Great burgers and fries. Quick service, as we used uber eats it was not as hot as you would have as it needed to be delivered. None the less, great food and plenty of gluten free options.

The Lowdown: Dazed in hunger and confuzzled 😐 with what to get, I asked the good bloke serving me what he recommended - his recommendation was nothing short of a taste sensation 💥. He said go for the Chickpea & Kumara Burger 🍔 (veggo option) but throw a B L Beef Pattie and some Streaky Bacon 🥓 on it… It was a genius move. The Chickpea & Kumara Burger 🍔 reminded me of home cooked bubble and squeak with the addition of chipotle aioli, diced white onion, lettuce, tomato & coriander to fill the burger - an excellent choice as a vegetarian. However, for our meat eating friends, when you add a beef pattie and some bacon 🥓 to these already complex flavours, it just magnifies the deliciousness of this burger 🤤.

Another day, another burger…There are so many places in Sydney selling burgers which is something I was not used at all. For me burgers was meaning Mc Donald in France. But in Australia burgers are part of the gastronomy and I understood why when I have the opportunity to try some burgers like the ones at BLburgers. This shop located on Oxford street , is an opened restaurant without doors that you fill attracted by the smell and you can't control yourself and you have to buy one. Unfortunately I will not advise this place for a big group, as it is more for a place for take away burgers or a quick lunch alone.
There is always a special which is the one I decided to try that day . The name was the M8 and was composed of Beef pattie, tasty cheese, bacon, iceberg, tomato, beetroot, potato scallop bbq onions Mayo and BBQ sauce. It seems quite a long list of ingredients, which could be too much of different taste, but finally all together they work well. The flavours are intense and their sauce are really good . And of course they are very filling which if for me one of the important part when eating a burger. They cost around 16-18$ which could be quite expensive but they really worth it!
Had the pulled pork burger... definitely a messy eat (or I just don't know how to eat burgers haha) but yummy! Other friends had others and it tasted good too! Chips are bomb!!! The seasoning for the chips were just right! And they have a cool concept with the kitchen sending the burgers in boxes down a ramp down to the counter downstairs! Definitely snap worthy!

Back here for the second time to try out their special 'Junk in the Trunk' burger with a side of loaded bomb fries and ginger beer. Total was $36 which was quite the most I spent on a burger meal.
Burger: the sizing is pretty huge from first site and it was assembled pretty well. Going into the actual burger, I loved the way how BL balanced the saltiness of the burger, especially from its beef patty and streaky bacon and their baconnaise sauce with the sweetness provided from the cola caramelised onions, some from the American cheese and the churros, which I must say was crunchy while its sweetness and the cola onions complimented well from the burger. The pickles were also present to bring down the sweetness level with its sour taste! The burger patty was also cooked medium rare as usual and was so juicy when biting into it and the bread was pretty warm and toasted before serving which should be a must for all burger restaurants out there!
Fries: from first impression it looked quite appetising but unfortunately, it didn't really live up to my expectations and it's $14 price tag. The fries were extremely soggy due to the combined effects of the oils from the liquid cheese and the pulled pork soaking into the fries, losing its crunchiness. Furthermore the pulled pork had absolutely no flavour or seasoning and the chipotle was absolutely lost in the fries as all I could taste was oily cheese fries with flavourless pulled pork. I definitely would not suggest purchasing their bomb frites if you are looking for crunchy fries.
Overall, BL burgers is one of the best places to go for burgers or for trying out their interesting specials like I did. Despite being the food performing well above average (except for the fries) the place isn't catered for eat ins or to accomodate a large group of people but rather take away.
But as for me, I probably would keep coming back to take on their specials rather than eating from the regular burger menu and for the low tier fries with aioli as I mentioned before, the overpriced loaded fries did not live up to its price tag.
Absolutely loved this joint, especially after a few drinks or sober! The patties are just unbelievably juicy and sweet buns. Also had to try the loaded fries, which is a must!!!
Fantastic burgers! I've heard so much about the famous Blame Canada burger, but I definitely was blown away by how much I liked it. The flavours were intense but not overwhelming, the patties were just how I liked them and overall a really satisfying eat. My partner got the special Flame Canada, which was spicy but it was really subtle and delicious.
Both burgers cost $16 each and were filling and and totally worth it. Definitely will be back for more good burgers!

The blame Canada exceeded all my expectations, the maple glazed streaky bacon was phenomenal and that's a big call as I'm not a bacon 🥓 obsessed human (I know shock/horror)
The beef patties are served slightly pink so they are still juicy, perfectly balanced with the poutine, the bun was pillowy soft as they should be.
Overall the burger was a flavor explosion in my mouth & I loved it.
Service was good, food came out fast, fresh and hot.

Holy balls. A burger called blame canada? Super dirty, but in all the right ways. Service was shit and rude. This place just a take away joint, not anywhere you woild want to stick around. Prices ok, but could be lower.
We ordered the St patricks say special at work... and everyone loved it! It did look a bit like a mutant burger, but the guinness braised brisket was a sure hit. The 2 cheeses, the onions, the pattie, the bun and everything in between was wonderful! Keen on having more burgers from BL :D
Came here for dinner and ordered the classic cheese and bl beef burger.
The classic cheese was quite plain, there was only pattie, cheese, pickle and very small pieces of onion. The taste was very average and nothing special about it.
The BL beef burger was quite similar but with the addition of bacon and some other veggie. The bacon was nice and crispy, but the burger overall was also average.
In both the burgers, you cannot actually taste the cheese though, maybe the put too less cheese. However, the fries was good, and love the aioli.
We had burgers delivered via Deliveroo & they were delicious!

BL Burgers has been on my radar for a while, and I finally got around to trying it with a friend last week.
The storefront was fairly unimpressive, and is clearly designed to cater primarily to takeaway orders. With that said, the people at the counter were polite, and our order came out relatively quickly (noting that it was quiet when we arrived at around 6:00pm).
Though I would ordinarily select a cheeseburger, on this particular evening, I opted for the 'Blame Canada' for something a bit different. The slight sweetness provided by the maple glazed bacon and maple aioli was very tasty, the patty was good, and the american cheddar was thick and oozy. Despite these positives, the burger was just unbelievably greasy, and by the end, the box in which the burger came was dripping with a layer of oil. It also meant that the bun was a little bit "soggy" (for want of a better term) in some places, and not quite as nice as it could have been. I thought maybe this was to be expected for the Blame Canada (perhaps from the poutine/aioli mixture), however, my friend's standard cheeseburger suffered from the same problem, albeit to a lesser extent.
The fries were fairly mediocre - better than what you might get at McDonalds, but still nowhere near as crispy as they should have been. BL should definitely take notes from Butter on how to make good fries (see my other review)!
In conclusion, BL Burgers isn't a massive standout in the already saturated burger market, and I personally would not go out of my way to go back there again. With that said, this burger does have a very specific time and place to shine. My friend and I both agreed - after a raucous night out, a BL burger to soak up the excess alcohol would warrant a perfect 5/5... otherwise, it's just another relatively expensive, slightly above-average burger.

Ordered the classic cheese. There was a time when I'd get a burger in town and just think about how much better I could make one at home. Not anymore. The standard is just ridiculously good now and BL just made my best burger list.
I wouldn't know where to get wagyu beef that good and cook it so perfectly with a nice pink line in the middle , and my local definitely doesn't have brioche buns that taste like that! And then there's the sauce, it was drenched in a tomato and mustard combo that smothered everything and combined with melted cheddar and crisp pickles, just took this burger to heaven.
Seriously, like legit holy shit your burgers were amazing! I tried the weekly special with the Rainbow broiche tater tots, candied bacon etc and loaded fries. I think there is some serious competition, I died and went to burger heaven. Im glad i got the chance to visit you guys whilst in sydney! Keep up the amazing food and creativity!!!!!!!

The burgers were excellent. My friend is a big foodie who has had ALOT of burgers and he said this is one the best he's ever had and I am inclined to agree. It was messy but absolutely incredible. Well worth $16.

First timers MUST get the Blame Canada, there is no other option, unless you're vegetarian of course but that's not why you're here! Big pat on the back to the genius that came up with this burger, what a creative mind and amazing palette you have. Lovely burgers but unfortunately you have to wait about 25-30 minutes, and they weren't even busy.
The staff are slightly rude and don't look happy to be there. The music in the store is probably not child safe.

We were planning on going to Mr Crackles but saw this burger joint and gave it a go instead! I am so glad we did. The burgers are freakin amazing!!!!!!! I had the classic cheeseburger the meat was slightly pink of the inside and everything was just perfect. My husband had the wagyu burger and he really liked it. The shoestring fries were great too. We will definitely be back.
First time at Bar Luca was pretty good, and now second experience here didn't disappoint. Ordered take away this time. The Blame Canada was perfect as usually, with it's maple glazed streaky bacon and maple aioli was a delightful sweetness added a punch to the poutine and balanced the meat. The special of the week was the 'Trump Tower'. It was like 2 burgers in one, plus hashbrowns and more bacon. The only veggie was the deep fried onion bits. Since it was takeaway, it looked like half the size of the actual thing on a plate with the skewer through, but even then, when it's in a box and still squished, it was a struggle to fit all the layers in your mouth in one go. Definitely not for the faint hearted
Delicious! Had the Blame Canada burger, which is a wagu beef patti (rare in middle) with double cheese and maple bacon. Side of herb seasoned shoe string fries was nice but too much for one.
Late post: Came here around May. It was a mission to get here and we made it with just 5 mins to spare before they closed. We were worried they would turn us down as there was a group of us but they were very accommodating. We had overseas guests with us which happened to be from Canada so we thought it was appropriate to order the Blame Canada's. I've had this burger at the original Bar Luca and the quality is just as good. Our fellow Canadians also gave it the thumbs up. The burgs came down to what I can only describe it as a burger slide in a jiffy (but I'm sure it is called something else) we even tried to get an action shot of the burger making it's way down with no luck). they gave us enough time to eat out food and did not rush us even though it was past the closing time. All in all, the staff are super friendly, burgs are by far in the high rankings of not only myself but fellow FBAS members. So do yourself a favour and get this in your belly!

Happened to be in oxford st @lunchtime and decided to find out if the much lauded bar luca 'blame canada' burg is as good as what peeps are saying. Stuffing fries between buns isnt something new. The maple bacon n maple aoili, i thought would blanket my tastebuds in sweetness but they simply work to many oomph aaahh between bites. Buns held till the end though it does get a wee messy. Patty was a nice medium the way i like it. I will double up on my next visit 😜!
They are Bar Luca burgers. They are damn good burgers but dude, please, 'this too cool for school' nonsense if not worth my lunch money! The wagyu beef burgers is the money but still would rather burger project any day (controversy...ooooh)
The infamous Blame Canada is well known among the burger fraternity and I had my first taste via a Friday lunchtime office delivery.
Definitely not a meal choice for the faint-hearted, this monster of a burger features a 200g wagyu beef patty, maple glazed streaky bacon, American cheddar, poutine and maple aioli. Ridiculous, really, but extremely tasty and not as sweet as it sounds. This is one for when you're so hungry you could eat a horse.

Craving yet another Blame Canada, we decided to drop by B L Burgers on Oxford Street to get our fix. Once again, the entire experience was an absolute pleasure that left us wanting so, so, so much more.
The Blame Canada consists of a 200g wagyu beef pattie, maple glazed streaky bacon, American cheddar, poutine and maple aioli. The pattie is served slightly pink and soft, whilst the bacon is crunchy and adds a perfect texture to the burger. The poutine is messy but glorious and the buns are perfectly soft and just add to the overall taste.
All we can say is wow... If you have not had one yet, make sure to go and check it out! The service was really friendly and also quite fast!

Not exceptional but also not bad. Guy who served me was pretty excited about life which was a nice dose of energy. Its a greasy burger, if you feel like a greasy burger executed reasonably well you will like it, that simple.

Which only the Burger Items and additions hacks which you can customise your burger and located in Darlinghurst, you don't have an excuse to try one of the most highly rated burger stores in Sydney.

I love burgers and went to BL burgers for one reason: The Blame Canada burger. There was alot of hype around this burger and I wanted to see if it was legitimate. For mine, The Blame Canada Burger lived up to the hype and is at the top of my list of beef burgers in Sydney. I could only imagine how good this burger would be after a few beverages. A hipster joint with Great burgers, and good service, I will return.

I love burgers so I go searching Sydney for the best burger. So far this place is totally up there on the list! I got the Blame Canada hoping it wouldn't be too sweet with its maple aioli and maple bacon, it wasn't. It was freaking delicious! Every bite just gets better and better. The fries are good, light and flavoursome, added bonus with a side of aioli. To top it off I got the Blame Canada ice cream! It's what i call a stoners delight. It had some weird stuff in there. Weird but good. Perfect little size so it doesnt get too sickening. Overall cool place, great burgers would come back.

Some sort of bias as the Blame Canada is already my favourite burger in Sydney but the Blame of Thrones special for this week was mind blowing! Two words, duck bacon. It was a magical addition to a burger I already love. Mind you I do love sweet mixed with my savoury so I welcome maple infused everything. Pictures speak a lot for themselves. The smoked maple aioli was plentiful and dripped out of the burger but the bun held up so well as I used it to mop up the sauce.
Catch the special while you can but highly recommend the Blame Canada to anyone that will listen to my burger ranting!!

Finally ordered the famous Blame Canada with fries and my oh my I was in heart attack heaven. The burger was juicy, flavoursome and perfectly cooked. The fries however was a little bit below my expectations although still pretty good.

I grabbed the "Blame Canada". The maple bacon joined up beautifully with the maple aoli and cheddar emulsion.
Round 2 (different day; I'm not spherical) Decided on the weekly special, the "Finding Emo". Squid ink and beer battered dory fillet, guacamole, cabbage slaw, dill and garlic aoli on a charcoal brioche bun.
This burger was a fight between the garlic and the dill for flavour dominace and it really overpowered what is usually the star of the show; the fish.
Order this without the dill & garlic aoli and I feel you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Despite my burger obsession I had never been able to get to Bar Luca to try the infamous Blame Canada. Now with the opening of their sister restaurant, B L Burgers, this changed last Sunday.
I decided to add Karaage Chicken and I've got to admit this made an already massive burger, MASSIVE!!! But wow that chicken is good.
I'm someone who adds chips on burgers occasionally so had no problems with the Poutine however I'm still undecided about the gravy. Regardless, the sweetness of the maple aioli and maple bacon helps to offset the gravy flavour.
All in all this burger deserves its rating by many as one of Sydney's best burgers but after experiencing the fried chicken, I can't wait to go back and try one of their fried chicken burgers!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow what a great dude food venue. A friend told me about this and he came and collected me and took me here for lunch. I have the 'Blame Canada' burger. Make sure you have lots of serviettes, you will need the. Talk about a 'mmmmmm burger moment.' Great friendly staff, limited but great food and drinks menu. The BL comes from Bar Luca in Phillip Street where the burgers are also available. If you like burgers this is a MUST try place. mmmmmmmm did someone say burger???

Right now Sydney is in overdrive with American diners / fried chicken joints and Burger Bars.
Perfectly cooked medium patty full of flavour and smokiness.
Fries were boring and lifeless and atmosphere was uplifting with Kanye west & hiphop pumping out the speakers.
Define revisit and next time I will fancy my burger with a few extras.

The Bar Luca team has opened a takeaway burger store on Oxford Street. B L Burgers Darlinghurst will not disappoint. You’ll need to loosen up the old belt buckle when finished here. They really do have some of Sydney’s best burgers in this tiny takeaway joint. They are located in a great spot on Oxford Street. On the same block as the Colombian and right next door to Mr Crackles.

The burger masterminds at Bar Luca opened up a straight up takeaway shop in the heart of Darlinghurst today and it is glorious. The menu is simple: Classic Cheese, Wagyu Beef, Blame Canada, Chicken Karaage, Chickpea & Kumara, and a Weekly Special. The rest of the menu is simply fries and add-ons to your burger like bacon, another patty, cheese, and so forth.
Seeing as I've had the Blame Canada already, I went for the Wagyu Beef Burger, Double.
2x Wagyu beef patty, double American cheddar, streaky bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, aioli, house made ketchup.
The hype is real. This place is going to pop off. Even though the first bite pushed the beef out of the bun a little and this burger gets straight up messy, it's all pretty worth it. The bun holds it together and didn't fall apart this time while soaking up all the juices. The wagyu beef is medium rare, juicy, and pretty damn tasty, though there was a very minor aftertaste I couldn't pinpoint. The toppings were classic and fresh, but done extremely well to make for a delicious ass burger. I prefer this over Blame Canada and if they used potato buns here I'd probably be here all the time.
Come get some before this place packs out.

The immense popularity of Bar Luca Sydney and their burgers, meant that B L burgers wasn’t an ‘if’, but a ‘when’. With powerhouse Chef Sarah Robbin and James Robbin’s in the kitchen, the success of B L burgers is pretty much guaranteed; they know their burgers. Weekly specials feature on the Fatties Burgers Appreciation Society FB page and cause a fervour as burger devotees foam at the mouths and rush in to try the next new taste sensation. PB+J burger? They made it work. Bar Luca’s latest venture then, B L Burgers promises a venue full of their top burgers, surprise twists and a casual eatery with good times vibe.
Fantastic burgers & fries! Today we ordered my favourite ’Blame Canada’ burger meal and the International burger day special ‘Double Pound Ya!’ Service was quick despite a full house. BL burgers always deliver consistently delicious burgers. Their fries are nicely seasoned and super crispy. One of the best burger joints in Sydney.
Good not great. Have tried pretty much all the burgers, all decent except probably the vegetarian burger - average patty. Can veer a bit sweet, e.g. the maple aioli and chilli jam both way to sweet. If you get the fried chicken burger suggest no chilli jam, and poutine scrap the maple aioli unless you're a sweet tooth. Standard beef burger with BL sauce probably my favourite
Very tasty Burgers and a lot of options to create your favourite burger. Friendly service
If you like a messy, chunky, end of day burger, this place is for you. Forget a nice hipster/brioche bun burger, get the piled on burger for the full experience. This place was actually recommended by the hotel I was staying at, and it did not disappoint. The place has some sick wall artwork too, great atmos. Would go again.

We ate the Blame Australia and was delicious
Some of the best tasting burgers around and the specials and loaded fries are always delicious. Staff is efficient and friendly. Only issue is the price is just a bit too high to have this every night as I wish I could.
Very much a returning customer and loyal Blame Canada and cauliflower bites fan. Pricing points reflect food quality and unique taste. Best Burger join in Sydney in my opinion 👌
