Sir And Mlady Dine Out

You know the song from Sound of Music that says “Tea, a drink with German bread”. Well that famous German bread can be bought from several Luneburger German Bakeries around Sydney. Their place in the busy Queen Victoria Building gets plenty of business from the heavy foot traffic there. The pretzels are possibly the best seller here. They go fast but there’s a constant supply too. The slightly sour thick bready twists have a soft centre and a baked brown crust with a scattering of rock salt crystals on them. They look and taste great - but we love pretzels!
Love Luneburger ! Nice bakery at convenient location. Your can not miss it because of smell. Fresh sandwiches, croissants and pretzels. And super friendly stuff.
Nice sandwich at a prime and convenient location. Had a turkey sandwich with a cheese pretzel. While the sandwich was nice, the pretzel had a frozen kind of cheese attached to it, which didn't taste great
Walk pass this bakery hundreds of times and finally decided to give it a go
The hazelnut croissant was ok. The one with cinnamon was also fine. It’s worth a try but I don’t think I will buy them again.
The wholemeal rye was a little bit too sour for me. They can cut the loaf for you but they cut very thin slices. I prefer thick slices.
Next time I may try the apple triangle and something else. The bread is not particularly delicious but it looks attractive.
This is a pretty good bakery for a quick takeaway sweet or savoury pastry. I’ve also enjoyed their original pretzels and their sandwiches are quite good and filling. Coffee is okay as well.
My favorite bakery in the CBD, located in the most convenient and most accesible in townhall! Apparently theres not many legit fresh bakerys in the CBD! But Luneburger is definitely one because they are all freshly baked in house!
Even the sandwiches are prepared in small batches and kept on replenished throughout the day. So you’ll know they are fresh!! Ive tried most of their sweet and savoury items. My favorite ones are the spinach lattice, cheese snail, veggie corner (these are served hot). Havent got my hands on their cheese pretzel as its always sold out!
I have also tried their selections of sweets item, which was the strawberry berligner, pretzel berligner, raspberry and cream cheese muffin, blueberry muffin, raisin scroll, hazelnut pastry and nutella twist. I wont say that they are the best as they are quite sweet but they all tasted decent.
I've bought food from here for years. While there's some average looking stuff & the prices have crept up, it's still reasonable value compared to upstairs QVB places and they're unflashy, reliable & consistent. My repeat buys are the pumpkin or sunflower seed rolls, jam berliner donuts, pretzel-shaped donuts, & the salt pretzels.
When in transit at Town Hall Station. Grab a cherry pastry $4, an amazing no fuss sugar coated crunchy flavour packed naughty pie when warmed up and totally worth the calories. The pastry is unbelievable!
I would go back here and have it foe breakfast everyday. Don't discount this bakery in dash concept, it's worth a stickybeak.
Love luneburger! Popped in today for a quick coffee and pastry hit. The staff are super friendly and the pastries are so fresh that you inhale them within 5 seconds of them being in your hands.
Definitely satisfied my sweet and savory tooth.
