Probably the best pasta I have had in Sydney! I got the lamb ragu and it just melts in your mouth. Everything we ordered was incredible, the vegan Mac and cheese is perfect you can’t even tell it’s vegan. The brussel sprouts were crispy and delicious, and the cocktails were absolutely gorgeous and tasty. This place is certainly a hidden gem in Surry Hills! Will definitely be back to try more of their pasta dishes.
Absolutely beautiful pasta here! The pasta is fresh and the sauces are delicious. One of the best pastas I've had in awhile
Fieri di Zucca : 😍 Amazing
Blue Spirulina Tagliatelle : 😍 Amazing
Lasagne Vegano : 😍 Amazing
Virgin Matcha Spritz : 😍 Amazing
From the minute we walked in, everything was outstanding from service to food to atmosphere. Lovely service from waitstaff. Fried zucchini flowers were delicious and paired well with their homemade chilli oil. The Blue Spirulina Pasta with blue swimmer crab was brought to us from kitchen heaven and you believe it when they tell you the lasagne is 100% vegan. Everyone has to get the matcha spritz. Not only does it look stunning but it tastes super refreshing and if you want to booze it up, just add a shot of gin! My favourite Italian restaurant by far.
Absolutely perfection! Top service for us and food that could not be faulted. First the zucchini flowers were super crunchy and absolutely delicious! The vegan lasagne tastes just like normal lasagne AND the blue swimmer crab pasta was my favorite, all bursting with flavour! The beetroot pasta was also delicious along with the deep fried ravioli dessert. We had Virgin Spritz (matcha & watermelon) both so refreshing. I’ve never tasted ones so good !
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The food here is absolutely incredible. I highly recommend the vegan lasagna, it is highly nutritious due to the large variety of extracts and ingredients used to create this masterpiece. The Nutella ravioli is a very smart idea and I felt very indulgent. You know that the place is fancy when they offer you sparkling and/or still water 👌🏼☺️
When one of the owners takes time to warmly welcome each guest to this small but cosy restaurant, you know you're in for a good stay.
But first.... *** the place is very small and extremely noisy. So noisy that you'll be challenged to hear yourself think, so if you're after a first date venue or somewhere to have good conversation, maybe steer clear or sit outside under the heaters where it's a lot more quiet ****
Our dinner got off to a great start with a tiramisu espressotini and a passionfruit spritz mocktail. We followed that up with share plates of gluten free pasta (made from chickpea) with a sauce made from pork + fennel sausage which was simply deluxe! and a salad accompaniment "from nonna's backyard"... a really generous serve of rocket, asparagus, parmesan, fennel and lemon vinaigrette for just $12.
Our shared dessert of gluten-free tiramisu ($18) was one of the best we've ever tried. Olive oil chocolate sponge was layered with lightly-drunken marscapone cream and a disc of chocolate halfway down the glass which gave a surprise crunch and added flavour.
M&V's isn't cheap but the service is friendly and the food is A+++ so in my book, it's worth a treat visit every now and then.
(Coeliacs note: while the polenta chips appear on the menu as gluten free, they're actually fried in shared oil... which was such a disappointment to my coeliac partner)
Cosy Italian place with beautifully colored, well-cooked pasta, and friendly staff. You could tell that the beef Ragu had had time to slow cook because the flavors were so prominent. The crab pasta was very subtle and paired well with their homemade chilli. The focaccia bread had a nice char to it although I would’ve preferred it slightly less so. Overall a nice experience !
Been on the list for sooo long but every time I wanted to go, it was booked out! So it is a good idea to book ahead if you're after a Friday night or weekend.
Service was amazing and a lovely man who stood outside even shook our hand as we walked in and all the other staff were just so friendly as well.
Had to try the vegan egg while there so ordered the charcoal pasta. Along with zucchini flowers, beetroot pasta, salad, and nutella ravioli for dessert. All vegan! The food was great, really enjoyed everything, especially the beetroot pasta and the dessert was PERFECT! Probably wouldn't go for the flowers again and I did find the salad very fresh, but heavy on the oil so would ask for less if possible.
Overall, really liked it! It was a tad pricey but the quality of food is great. Def would visit again.
I think Mark + Vinny’s is going to be my favourite spot to eat Italian food from now on. Why hadn’t I not visited sooner? This cute little Spaghetti & Spritz bar is loads of fun and serves up the most scrumptious modern Italian food. Most of which is either Vegetarian or Vegan. The service is superb, especially when you are served by the divine Vinny. You feel like you have been transported to a bar in Italy. The servings are generous and I couldn’t get enough of the retro tunes playing in the background. I can’t wait to go back again and again to try all their Spritzes (there are 20 plus on their menu). The highlight for me was the Maccaruni Calabrese (pictured) made with slow cooked beef short ribs. To die for delicious. #spaghetti #spritz
Absolutely love the interior and innovative dishes here! Experience here overall was great, was greeted by Vince himself and was served by attentive and friendly wait staff. The charcoal bucatini is completely vegan which was amazing considering how creamy it was and the blue swimmer tagliatelle offered a nice balance to the meal with its more subtle flavours. We also got the zucchini flowers and fried cauliflower which were both super delicious! I highly recommend the vegan no-tella ravioli dessert - not too sweet and very crispy! Their Italian donut special was a bit dry though unfortunately...
Magnificent pasta, friendly staff, a great atmosphere & desserts to die for ... this place is awesome! I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more meals here!
Mouth-watering pasta!! The pasta selections are both familiar and unique with interesting twists. The ‘No-tella Ravioli’ dessert is to die for. Their spritz’s are also amazing! Nothing to fault at Mark + Vinny’s. The service is great and Vinny is always very welcoming. Love this place highly recommend trying!
So, first of all, count me completely charmed by this experience: we rock up on a Tuesday night for our anniversary dinner, and don’t have reservations. They managed to find a table for us, but not before Vinny welcomes us with an introduction and a handshake. To have the owner of the place welcome us, simply, kindly and with warmth, impressed me greatly.
Absolutely delicious food here. Very creative dishes, all very unique or with a new spin on classic Italian cuisine.
Service is top notch, and does not miss a beat. The owner Vince is there to meet you when you arrive and always around to help with recommendation for food and drink.
Really great ambience as well, being able to dine on the footpath in a residential setting.
This tiny little place is tucked away in Surry Hills, and they are extremely popular as you have to make a booking about a week in advance to get a decent time. The only negatives is that the ambience is really small and squishy inside, and their prices are not cheap for their small serving sizes.
However their pasta was very good, and very unique. The charcoal bucatini had such a unique flavour and was nice and creamy. It tasted really nice; definitely unlike anything else I’ve ever had. The beetroot spaghetti had a really nice, creamy pesto sauce and was also very tasty. The zucchini flowers were crispy and tasty, and the soy ricotta feeling was really light and flavoursome. Plus, everything we ordered was vegan! Their service was exceptional, and we were given a nice digestive drink to wash down our meals.
I probably wouldn’t go back, however it is definitely a place worth trying if you’re a Sydney sider.
What a funky idea for a restaurant. Service was insanely good, atmosphere was vibrant and food was outstanding. We had the zucchini flowers which were filled with a smoked almond cured and deep fried, very different and really tasty. The gnocchi was freshly made which was unreal, the beetroot pasta was unique and very flavoursome and the dessert was insane (vegan no-tella ravioli). This place is a definite must !!!!!!!!
After drooling over the menu with my best mate for far too long we gave this place a shot and boy, were we not disappointed! With vegan and non-vegan pasta options that are equally delicious, tons of unique cocktails, and a great vibe, its definitely a place I'd return to time and time again. The only minor letdown is small portion sizes
Went here on opening night. We tried for different pasta dishes, 2 of which I would order again. The entrees were amazing and the desserts were small but delicious! The marketing of this restaurant is a little misleading as the dishes don't look like the pictures they show, but I do love the art of the pictures! Mark and Vinny were very gracious hosts and gave us a shot of Aprol on the house to celebrate their opening. Interior is beautiful! Would recommend
We tried the Charcoal Bucatini, Beetroot Spaghettini and, Tiramisu with coconut ice cream!
The charcoal bucatini here was i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e!!! Honestly the flavours in this dish are so unique and the spaghetti was just perfect, I really can’t fault it. The vegan egg was so interesting - it was kind of sweet and tasted like this asian pastry to me... but it was perfect with the dish!! If you come here, you MUST try the bucatini.
The Beetroot Spaghetti was delicious too but our spaghetti was a little undercooked. M&Vs give you free vegan cheese and chilli to add to your dishes too! Perfect! Tiramisu was also great!
Staff are friendly and there’s just a great atmosphere. A little expensive but, take your time eating and enjoy all the flavours. Would highly recommend.
Wow! Two of my favourite things - spaghetti and spritz! Cannot fault M & V’s. Their vegan take on the carbonara was amazing and the blue crab pasta was so good! Worth trying a couple of the spritz’s too, so good! We will be back again.
This place is a winner! The mains were amazing, spritz’s were sensational and Mark, Vinny and the crew showcased hospitality at its best. Don’t miss a visit here!
Great place, good service. I love their spritz 😍 would defo come back again!
The charcoal pasta was my fav, definitely recommend
And they have the best gnocchi I’ve tried so far so good job 👍🏻

My friend and I came here on Saturday night with no booking, and they graciously fit us in providing it was really busy! Service exceeded any place we've ever been to. The food to say the least, was mind blowing. We had the Beetroot Spaghetti and the zucchini noodles. I would opt for the beetroot spaghetti as it was so creamy, cooked perfectly, and best part - completely vegan. Zucchini noodles were great but I would probably choose a carb dish next time. We also had the Zucchini flowers to start with, and that was also amazing. Can't fault the place!
We fell madly in love with spritz and spaghetti when holidaying in Italy so when a small restaurant dedicated to those two things opened up five minutes from home, we felt obliged to check it out. The bright sign of Mark + Vinny’s is visible from distance and hard to miss. The restaurant itself is dimly lit in neon light while bottles of Aperol sprits are neatly lined up on a top shelf under “Fly Me to The Moon” sign. And the Fly Me to the Moon ($18) spritz was what we started with to soak up the Friday vibe.
Just one word - OUTSTANDING!!!!! Everything was perfect starting from the entrees to the desserts. First day opened for the public and we made sure we had a table booked and we were lucky enough. Started with Fiori Di zucca and Melanzana - both of which was excellent. The cocktails were amazing too - loved the maitai spritz. For the mains we had the zucchini linguini, charcoal bucatini, beetroot spaghettini and Macaruni calabrese - each of which was again splendid. And then came the desserts which was heavenly. Overall an amazing experience, a bit on an expensive side. We met Mark and Vinny, the owners are lovely.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The drinks are different and creative. Great mix of vegan and meat dishes to suit all groups.
Will re visit
Thanks to Pendulum Communications for the invite to a menu tasting. But first it's refreshments of The Pash Me Spritz - Vermouth bianco, passionfruit, prosecco, soda ($18)and the classic Florence Spritz - Aperol, Prosecco, Fever Tree Soda ($16). Both enjoyed and there's plenty of other Spritz variations on the menu to tempt. Starters consisted of a few of vegan dishes. Cece - Chickpea hummus, farro, schiacciata ($14) was tasty and easy to share and the Caprese - Soy mozzarella, heirloom tomato, basil, lemon vinaigrette ($18) could probably fool a few like myself with its soy-based cheese. The Fiori di Zucca - Zucchini flower, smoked almond curd, romesco ($15, 2 pieces) had an excellent crispy batter and was one of my favourite dishes of the day. Back to something meaty was the Polpette - Adrian’s meat balls, slow cooked tomato sugo ($18, 3 pieces) that was good but comes at a price of $6 a meat ball so probably best not to expect to fill up on this dish alone.
