New owner here now 18months has made this one of our favourite local cafes. Food delicious & generous portions, the coffee richly excellent. A sunny outlook on Glebe Point Rd with friendly neighbourly staff always up for a chat. Unobtrusive tasteful music played in low volume is a plus these days. A local gem highly reccomended.
Great local cafe with excellent espresso, tasty food and fantastic service! Always consistent which is a big plus! Busy on the weekend so get in early - You won’t be disappointed!
Nice cafe situated near Glebe library on Glebe Point Road. I had a soy cappuccino and Poached eggs with wilted spinach and relish. The coffee, made from single origin, was really well made & the eggs poached to perfection. The staff were also really friendly too. Will definitely go back to try again!!
Great Coffee and superb bacon &eggs. Attentive and professional staff. Well above average!!! Good vibe. Sun streams in to soft relaxing room. In loving it!
We ordered the green scrambled eggs and corn fritters. The orders were taken by an attentive and efficient guy who confidently memorised what we wanted. Two gardens on a plate arrived. Green, red, yellow colours waiting to be eaten. Each mouthful was like a delicious punch in the face. We were two hungry souls hunting for breakfast on a harsh winter morning and our decision to take refuge in this cafe was handsomely rewarded.

Chilly Monday, late autumn, grumbling stomach. The appetite takes us to Astro. Thought this cafe must have something to it, seeing all the locals coming in and out for the same reason as I am about to go in there for... A good morning feed.
When you walk in, there is a warm and inviting vibe to the simple decorated decor that works just nicely.
The service was prompt, wait staff took our drinks order. Coffee and tea came out at a decent time. Shortly after that, our food order was taken. We ordered green scrambled eggs and my breakfast buddy ordered the Astro benedict, and it was just perfect. The portion size was just so giving and generous, could have fed to humans nicely. Their eggs were fluffy and moist, flavour of the eggs were just so complimentary and not over bearing. Bacon cooked to perfection and not too dry. Made in a way that made me go... Oooh! The grilled tomatoes that I generally avoid was firm and sweet, not soggy when you cut into the tomato. For this I give this breakfast joint a seal of approval. If you are in the area, this cafe is a must try for various reason, not just the portion size alone.
I have visited and sampled many cafes, and whilst I thought some were nice, it was one of those places I would most likely visit once, to simply say that I have been there. As for this place, it is understated, warm and inviting, not too noisy to hold a conversation (absolutely a +++ for me), value for money and simply yummy and honest breakfast with being overly complicated.
You shall see me again. I had a nice experience this morning.
Super friendly people and service is always top notch! Coffee is excellent and the food is of a very high quality - particularly the haloumi stack. The smashed Avo dish could use a revamp - some feta or something tangy to offset the avocado. The beetroot doesn't balance well. All in all a fantastic place!
I like the homely ambience, welcoming staff and good coffee here.
The bus stop is just the infront of the cafe, 10min away from City.
I had coffee and bread with Vegemite for brekkie. The coffee smelled very good and delicious.
Love it. Bread was very yummy too! Defs come back again and will try other food too.
Love this local! Simple and delish. Decent servings and reasonably priced.
The bread is amazing! My favourite - Sonoma sourdough and I love the seeded rye.
The only catch with this place is the limited seating so sometimes you have to wait. Also - as much as I hate to admit it, the coffee is not to my liking so I generally have a coffee before breaky and then stick with water or order tea. (My palate is very particular apparently...)
The food keeps me going back though. Well poached eggs and tasty sides. Some good menu combos too - he pesto haloumi stack is a winner!
Great little vibe coming from this mostly outside but cosy slick inside haven of polished cafe food and coffee. Loved the coffee, croque monsieur and cronut combo a truly calorific start to any morning.
There's an array of breakfast haunts on GPR and yet I keep being drawn to this place. Excellent service, wonderful coffee, sunny aspect, interesting menu and an owner who, after just two visits, had memorised my coffee order. Pesto eggs are superb, haloumi stack delicious. The only slight negative is the quinoa Bircher is a tad too sweet and may benefit from a slightly tarter yoghurt. All up though, Astor shines out in the bright galaxy of Glebe's cafe stars.
Only stopped in for a take--away coffee but was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and just how appealing the cafe was. To top it off, as I ordered my take-away coffee during my break from work I noticed (who appeared to be the manager) putting on display fresh Cronuts - something I'd never seen before. Upon seeing my reaction to the Cronuts, the lovely man then gave me a Cronut, free of charge. What a legend. Will be coming for a sit down breakfast very soon!
My favourite place. I've been in there several times.. always great coffee and nice food, staffs are so friendly..and price is reasonable..
Good place to catch friends up for great breakky
Our favourite breakfast spot in glebe. Coffee is always good, service is fast and friendly and the food is great. The tomato and goats cheese bruschetta is a standout. Also the haloumi stack is pretty great.
Great breakfast&coffee the best in glebe&also to staff&phillip the new owner keep up the great work....
I agree with the other review that their menu was nothing special, if you want lunch your choices are limited. Table water was not a jug, but a small glass of water, so it was a bit annoying to keep asking them over and over for more water. The coffee was good. We had a bacon&egg roll and the French toast. Both of these dishes were delicious and enjoyed. Tables were a bit small and close together but not really a problem. All together a good experience.
Great little cafe. Friendly staff, innovative menu and very reasonbly priced. 10!
A nice little cafe, and a wonderful spot to sit with a coffee, some cake, and a book you've just borrowed from the library up the street.
Tried this cozy joint whilst in the area. Never heard of this place before but loved the look of it from pictures on Google so thought I'd give it a go.
Lovely staff, the girls on the Friday morning were lovely and attentive and made me feel so welcome.
Glad to see Single Origin on the menu! My Rwanda long black was sweet, fruity and well balanced. Thanks barista!
Food on the menu looked simple but super delicious that I couldn't choose just one thing! In the end my dishes were very comforting on a chilly winter morning. Liked the fig toast with ricotta , but loved the green scrambled eggs even more.
Definitely recommend this place for food and coffee. Thanks guys for making my Friday morning lovely :)
Egg Benedict and corn fritters were OK. Coffee was fine. Muffins not so much.
Great coffee and the food is really good too. Can get busy so be prepared for a wait and for food.
The latte I had was exactly as a latte should be 😁👍 The chicken burger was fresh and tasty.
Great service! Friendly staff (English girl) made nice fresh juice and perfect almond latte (extra hot). She asked if the coffee was hot enough etc. It was perfect temperature, thank you! Food was nice too. Best service in the area!
I love this place and frequent here regularly. I'll admit that there was a bit of a rough patch a while back (I think it had just changed hands?) but I cannot fault these guys for making a real effort and consistently improving both their food and service.
The coffee has always been a strong point and their menu is now a good meld of classic options and more experimental specials.
Staff are quite friendly without being over the top.
I wouldn't take more than 4 people as it's quite small but there is outdoor seating that catches the morning sun (good place to take a book)
This is our regular/favourite spot in Glebe!
Love the food and the coffee is great.
Favourite meal is the “healthy bowl”.. so much flavour!
The staff are always super friendly and attentive I have always had a fantastic experience at this cafe.
Highly recommended!
