Had dinner here recently and really liked the food! We shared a pizza, pasta, fries and salad between the three of us and it was more than enough. The pizza, pasta and salad is part of a shared meal for two. We were recommended the spicy salami, capsicum and olive pizza by the staff which was a favorite. The spaghetti marinara was yummy too. Service was awesome! Attentive and friendly
Best place for Italian food. Don't forget to pick a space outside the restaurant rather than inside. Will add to the Italian vibe.
The staff are extremely friendly and will help you out in picking the best dish for you.
All of the baked pizzaa are amazing and their beef dishes are also a must try!
Warm friendly and efficient service-food was great value and we shared pasta, salad and the pizza special.
Nice buzz in there also for mid week and quite cosy on a cold night-will be back
Best Pizza ever and they do $10 pizza deal for students which is incredible!! Great menu with lots of delicious Italian food and the ambiance is quite nice.
Went on a Saturday night and both food and service was excellent. The lamb pizza had a beautiful base and the entree tapas was value for money. Tiramisu with panna cotta gelato was not too sweet and full of flavour. Will definitely come back.
This is a lovely Italian restaurant located near Central Park / Kensington Street. The staff were friendly and attentive. For our table of four, we ordered the Neopolitan shared entree platter which came with calamari, smoked salmon and polenta chips which was very nice.
For mains, we shared the large Del Popolo (House Special) stonebaked pizza with pepperoni and ham on perfect crust that was not too thick or thin which was really good. The lamb ragu pappardelle came with a generous serving of lamb and a delicious sauce. Overall the food and atmosphere was great and will be happy to come back again.

For something a bit different we decided on having the $55 special for 2 of Pizza, Pasta and salad. On the menu this was - traditional large pizza of choice, pasta of choice and Italian, Mediterranean or Rocket salad. You add $5 for gourmet pizza selection, add $5 for seafood pasta selection and add $20 to enjoy a bottle of Casa Vino Rosso or Bianco with your share plate.
‘Remember the old days when home cooked meals were common and time wasn’t short?’ asks Andiamo Trattoria on its website. I certainly remember watching inquisitively as my grandmother cooked up a storm for a family of fourteen every day as well as the annual frenzy in preparing the New Year’s Eve feast. Those days are long gone; restaurant food is at our fingertips thanks to the likes of Foodora, Deliveroo and Uber Eats. Meals are more than often consumed on our laps in front of the television screen because we don’t want to miss a minute of Masterchef or My Kitchen Rules learning cooking tips that we never seem to find the time to practise.
Great place, most places you wouldn't go to get a margarita, however here you can truly enjoy the purity of flavours!
For a very nice looking and feeling restaurant, the price is very reasonable, a they also have specials throughout the week!Highly recommended!
Just really yum. Cheesy pizza. Get the pumpkin ravioli. Service was amazing and came out super quickly - like 5 mins. Was a little hot in the venue but was a hot night.
Andiamo trattoria's cuisine has a focus on traditional northern Italian. We ordered the antipasti plate first with smoked olives which were delish accompanied with the meatballs that were polished of with Italian style pana. We followed this up with the truffle and mushroom gnocchi that was superb and the marinara pasta.
The other weekend, we booked a table for four at Andiamo in Chippendale. Had the best of Italian dinner with my friends, truly! Think of home cooked Italian goodness where tomato sauce are simmered for hours, nonna (grandmother in italian) style.
We were greeted with a ginormous antipasti, with the smoked olives being the star. The green olives were smoked locally, just literally at Andiamo's kitchen.
You gotta try the Nonna’s Homemade Polpette which simply translates (in my own words), really delicious and authentic Italian meatballs. The pomodoro sauce is to-die-for. We wiped it clean with our ciabatta bread, hehe.
I'm a seafood lover, so Spaghetti Marinara was on top of my favourite Italian things. A generous serve of mussels, prawns and calamari with al dente spaghetti and homemade sauce make a winning dish.
Gnocchi Tartufi was so delicious, I went for seconds. Beautifully sauteed mushrooms and truffle oil cooked in an equally creamy delicious sauce. Andiamo's gnocchi was soft and delightful. A perfect blend of flavours.
And who doesn't love pizza? Andiamo's Vegetarian Pizza was a thin crust pizza topped with melting mozzarella, mushroom and eggplant. Just yum!
Andiamo is a really nice place to hang out family and friends. It's chill and relax. If you've eaten way too much (which in our case, we totally did), there's Central Park nearby where you can go for a nice walk. Looking forward to our next visit again!

Andiamo Trattoria del Popolo translates to 'let's go to the trattoria of the people', and rightly so. The restaurant is not your typical high end fine dining establishment, nor is it a cheap, no-fuss take away joint. It sits proudly in the middle as a humble restaurant for the people. It is a rustic, Southern Italian-influenced trattoria that prides itself in serving 'simple Italian favourites like your Nonna would make'. Despite being located on one of Sydney's newest dining streets, you won't find a trendy squid-ink-tinted risotto or extravagant lobster spaghetti here. The menu revolves around traditional Southern Italian classics - think homemade meatballs, lasagne, mushroom risotto, veal scaloppine and traditional stone-baked pizzas.
We were recently invited to Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo, an Italian restaurant in Chippendale. Having been promised an ‘unforgettable Tuscan feast’, we came in with high expectations, especially given our love for Italian cuisine. What we actually received, in the form of generous and amazing food, a lovely ambience, and first-class service, more than met those expectations, and we had an amazing night!
In short: Traditional Italian home-style dishes, relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, great surrounding dining precinct to explore.
Marrying into the Italian culture means you must quickly learn your way around a plate of Nonna’s favourites from the motherland. Not being able to tell a tagliatelle from a pappardelle can find you with spaghetti on your face. So, when I pulled up a chair at Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo, I was pretty sure I could tell if Nonna would approve.
I had the pleasure of checking out Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo in Chippendale recently. They are a casual Italian eatery known for their pastas and pizzas. Wow!!. Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo is situated on Kensington Street. Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo's is the latest addition to this revived part of Sydney in Chippendale. we finally got the chance to visit Kensington Street Chippendale, next to Central Park building and close to Central Station.... and the first restaurant we visit captured our heart straight away..... it was Andiamo Trattoria....... A place where traditional meets contemporary..... 10 out of 10 service and simple Italian favourites like your nonna would make! hehehe....
here are some of the food that captured our heart..... NONNA'S HOMEMADE POLPETTE (Italian Meatballs)..... our favourite PUMPKIN GORGONZOLA PIZZA (perfect dough and perfectly baked pizza up to the crust!)....... TUSCAN SLOW ROASTED LAMB and ROSEMARY ROASTED POTATOES with their Homemade gravy..... and last but not least..... our fav dessert TIRAMISU DI CASA....... just one word to sum it all up...... Perfetto!
Kensington Street Chippendale has fast become a dining hot spot where you are spoilt for choice, be it cheap street food or fine dining and everything in between. Andiamo is a great Italian restaurant in this precinct with a contempory design. The restaurant is a large open space with indoor dining and an alfresco dining area.
The staff were great, very personable and accomodating. The service had the charm of a local Italian restaurant that makes you feel as though you are part of the family.
They are passionate about the food. It is made with love, full flavour just like a home cooked meal made by Nonna. The arancini and polpette(meatballs) are both favourites and did not disappoint.
The stone baked pizzas are a great option order a few to share. The beautiful crisp base and quality ingredients used to make delicious toppings. We share the pumpkin gorgonzola, the salsiccia(Italian sausage, bocconcini and fresh basil) and the pizza alla Norma(eggplant, fresh ricotta and basil)
The pasta sauce is slow cooked, giving rich flavour. The fettucini marinara was delighful. My one of my favourites of the evening was the Gnocchi Tartufi truffled sauteed mushrooms, with wine and a light cream sauce which was truffleicious.
Then came the masterpiece the succulent lamb shoulder which was marinated for 24 hours then slow roasted to perfection.
Great service, food and location. Ideal for any occasion. Thanks to Zomato for introducing us to this restaurant and thank you to Joe, Val, Pierre and staff for the hospitality and a wonerful evening.

Located alongside Spice Alley, and surrounded by artisan chocolatiers, small bars and trendy restaurants, Andiamo Trattoria brings a new dining experience to the vibrant Central Park dining precinct.
Be prepared to be transported to a little slice of Italy as soon as you step through the doors. Rustic, homely, yet contemporary, you'll be warmly welcomed and well looked after by the highly personable staff. As they would say, benvenuto nella nostra casa (welcome to our house)!
Enjoy honest, homestyle Italian cooking. We were treated to a Tuscan feast, with a delicious journey through antipasti, pizza and pasta, and culminating with a succulent 24 hour marinated, six hour slow roasted lamb shoulder with a lemon gravy and roasted potatoes, and finishing with tiramisu with Italian espresso and panna cotta gelato.
The Polpette were small bites of deliciousness. The meatballs in the tomato sauce were wonderful. The Arancini and Spinach e Ricotta Fritters were both crunchy on the outside with creamy fillings in the middle.
The pizzas had crispy bases and the toppings were rich in flavour but not heavy at all. Just the right amount.
The gnocchi were soft and the accompanying mushroom sauce was lovely. Spaghetti Marinara had a good balance of seafood in it.
The Lamb was so tender and melt in the mouth. A sign of a great slow cooked lamb is if it can be cut with a spoon and this certainly fulfilled this promise. The potatoes were crispy and the accompanying salad was a great foil to the richness of the other components. Absolutely scrumptious!
Finished off with a decadent Tiramisu & Panna Cotta Gelato. Bellissimo!
Thank you Zomato for the opportunity to experience the recently opened Andiamo Trattoria, and congratulations to Joe, Val and Pierre on the success of the new kid on the block.
I've become somewhat of an expert on Andiamo having now had the pleasure to visit all three branches. Blockbuster movie sequels often leave the audience disappointed but not this instalment of Andiamo that completes a trilogy of outlets that seem to be outdoing each other with each new opening! Their 3 week old Chippendale location becomes the centralised kitchen hub, lifeblood of all slow simmered sauces and stonebaked pizza bases for all venues.
It's “Old school Trattoria” says owner, Joe “where people feel comfortable, relaxed, share meals, spend time with family, where it's boisterous”. It's taken elements of the old untampered perfection, mixing in industrial chic décor into new unique flair.
For longtime Andiamo fans, you'll enter the space with familiar remnants from the other locations on their feature wall displays.
The menu doesn't make a fuss of the high end, yet takes your lazy nights of not wanting to cook low end microwave meals to new levels!
My Recommendations below – please send me your receipts and I will reimburse you if you are left disappointed!
THE SICILIAN ARANCINI is a crisp golden casing with a molten proscuitto & mozzarella centre. Dressed with a lava lay of Napoletana sauce, it reminds you why the Australian love affair with Italian food will never die and will continue to be our standard procedure.
THE SALSICCIA pizza of cured italian sausage has a tame fire, contrary to what you would expect from the Calabria region its derived from. Paired with gooey bocconcini on a hand made base, becomes the perfect choice for any meat lover!
THE GNOCCHI is a beautiful pillowy textured potato pasta lathered in a cremosa of white wine and luxurious truffles delicately sauteed and weaved in. Absolutely exquisite! That says a lot, because vegetarian dishes are usually my last choice when it comes to Italian!
TIPPED TO BE THEIR MOST IN-DEMAND SIGNATURE is the Tuscan slow cooked lamb which has been set in seasoned marinade for 24 hours. They've cooked this dish to my personal preference, where the meat is soft and tender, pulling away from the bone (this dish doesn't have one, but you get my drift) but doesn't completely fall off! Absolutely perfect!!! I could eat one whole share plate of this.
Somehow, they have been able to replicate the embodied passion for service and richness in italian culinary knowledge which we first discovered in Summer Hill local icon, Kevin – for a third time in the new generation of attendants that looked after our table. Thanks Ines!
Great flavours, Great Service & Great company ensured one epic night! Can't wait to come back!

Andiamo Trattoria now has three locations in Sydney with the newest one at Chippendale just opened. This restaurant is all about delicious Italian food just the way Nonna used to make it!
The restaurant itself is beautiful with 150 year old brick feature walls and a striking fresco painting adding to the decor. The staff are there to make sure you are looked after with good food, great service and anything else you could ask for.
Where to start with this mouthwatering menu? We were treated to Nonnas homemade polpette and let me tell you these are the best meatballs I've ever had. The arancini balls were generous in size and filled with Sicilian prosciutto & mozarella on a bed of napoletana sauce - perfection. For those wanting a vegetarian option the spinach and ricotta fritters with Gorgonzola sauce are a must. The last starter was the cozze bianco - black mussels with garlic, white wine, shallot and cream sauce. You will want lots of crusty ciabatta to soak up every last bit of that delicious sauce.
For mains you will find it a difficult decision between the pizzas, pastas, and the signature Tuscan lamb. There were fantastic vegetarian pizza options including pumpkin Gorgonzola and the pizza alla Norma topped with double cooked eggplant, ricotta, fresh basil and olive oil. If you are a meat lover the salsiccia with Italian sausage, bocconcini and basil was a stand out - be sure to add chilli sauce. For pastas if you are a tomato lover go for the spaghetti marinara with calamari, tiger prawns, octopus, mussels, garlic and chilli in a napolitana sauce. My absolute favourite was the gnocchi tartufi - truffled sautéed mushrooms with wine and light cream sauce.
Now to the Tuscan lamb!! A boneless lamb shoulder marinated for 24 hours and slow roasted for another 7 it is not hard to see why people order ahead for this dish. The lamb is served with rosemary roasted potatoes and homemade gravy - absolutely delicious. It is also paired with a mixed salad which is a refreshing side.
If you still have room for dessert treat yourself to the homemade tiramisu with a shot of Italian espresso and pana cotta gelato.
The food is slow cooked and filled with love. Hats off to Adiamo Trattoria and Nonna. We will most certainly be visiting their other venues!
Waltzed in here as a walk in, didn't have a reservation but managed to fit us in.
Price was reasonable and vast menu choices. Shame they didn't have much seafood entrees but everything else was quite lovely.
Hard to settle for a 4, so I'm giving this place a 5 Star and will be recommending to all those wanting a Pizza/Italian/Wine experience. Manager was under stress but was effective and warm.
The place has a nice outdoor area with heaters, but it has this enclosed feeling about it with lovely ambience, giving you a view of the kitchen where it all seemed clean, professional and so fast. We were told a 30 -40 min wait awaits us. We waited less. Pizza was so delicious, the crust was among the best I've ever had; semi crunchy, semi soft, and lasted in its fresh form longer than most. The wine selection is broad. My choice of the first wine listed (Italian) was top notch. Garlic bread - I would add more garlic to it ( the bread itself was so lovely). With the Prawns in the tomato based sauce - given the price, I'm inclined to suggest increasing the portion or selecting bigger prawns, the base of which was lovely. My guest was impressed. I recommend giving this place a try.
Fantastic take away customer service tonight by the lovely and friendly lady that served us. We have eaten here many times pre-Covid times but we find the take away service superior than their dine-in service (generally slow, in-experienced staff with little English). Tonight we ordered the $37 deal; 1 traditional pizza, 1 pasta and a garlic bread. What a great deal. Also they do $15 take away pizzas Sun-Thur. The garlic bread is fresh and homemade. Loved the chunks of garlic! The best pasta dish is hands down the Penne alla Norma - my toddler son who is a fussy eater thoroughly enjoyed the Penne alla Norma and ate 1/4 of the dish! That’s a lot of food for him as he also had 2 slices of the pizza! The best pizza from Andiamo is their Quattro Formaggi gourmet pizza and the Margherita pizza. Tonight we ordered the Margherita. Bellissimo!
Very lovely and good staff,
Price performance ratio is perfect !
Good pizza, good wine and good desserts !
Ambiance was great we were sitting in awning !
What else would you ask from a restaurant ?
I have had take away from here a number of times and the food has always been very consistent. I have also dined in previously, I would recommend if you don’t have kids. We have been there with a toddler but it’s got more of a couples and friends getting together vibe.
Tonight my family had the $37 Pizza, Pasta and Garlic bread deal. We had the Pasta Alla Norma which I recommend.
