I've been to this place twice - the first time around two years ago and the second time more recently. I've only ever gotten brunch foods here, and I've been satisfied both times. Nice service, and not too far from Central Station as well.
Ordered sandwich and fries and I shared them with my friend. We ordered coffee too. Overall, they were quite good. Location is nice and comfy.

Love this cafe. Came on a Sunday morning. Simple menu is perfect and gets straight to the point. Food is fresh and the quality can't get any better.
Had the fritters with eggs, house cured salmon with scrambled egg and the chainsmoker burger on brioche bun. Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast here. Highly rec this place.

Nice cafe located on Reservoir Street. Decked out in a contemporary inner urban feel. This place specialises in breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. We came here as a group and got to sample a few items. Service was friendly.
Pancakes were fluffy and served with tasty caramelised banana, mixed berries, kiwi fruit, meringue, and pistachios. We went for butterscotch sauce and it was delightful.
We had three burgers to try. First was burger of the week which was the The Blue Bird. Fried chicken with honey glaze and blue cheese sauce. Sounds like a strange combo but worked well as don’t mind sweetness in my food. All Star Burger we had as a triple (there is a choice of double, quad, and quin as well depending on how many wagyu beef patties you are up for) and topped with cheese and salad. Solid burger here. Finding Hoki is a battered fish fillet served with pickle celeriac and tartare sauce. It isn’t too bad. All served with fries. Loved the taste of them as they dust them in chicken salt and very moreish.
Wanted to try Reservoir Reuben but sold out so tried BRAT and Oh Haloumi. Nice sandwiches. Fries can be added to them to complete it as meal. Big enough variety to please most.
Drinks are varied and they offer coffee, fresh juices, shakes, and smoothies.

Popped in this morning for breakfast - We had a Stack and a steak sandwich with fries. The decor here was really nice and the staff were polite and helpful! As far as the food went, the steak sandwich was delicious and the fries were great with chicken salt. The Horseradish Hollandaise sauce on the Stack sounded like a bit of a weird combination but tasted amazing, with the only let down of the meal being the potato rosti - part of it was undercooked... Overall still a great experience nonetheless.
Easily one of the best burgers in Sydney but I’d even go further to say it is the best! Simple but every part was done to perfection making it really difficult to settle for one
It’s a lovely cafe inside Surry hills. I went there yesterday which is Easter long weekend, they opened and provide us a wonderful Sunday morning meals.
Went there for Sunday brunch..ordered veg burger and egg benedict with salmon. Both meals were very good and especially the fries with burger. Salmon was smoked well. We prefer extra hot coffee but was served lukewarm coffee which was promptly replaced once we pointed out.
Totally recommend this cafe.

Found this cafe on Zomato and because of the high rating we had to try it! It didn’t disappoint it was awesome, staff were lovely, coffee was great and we ordered the stack for breakfast, it was so tasty! Highly recommend trying this place tasty and reasonable prices!

Gotta get around those $10 Friday specials - All Star Cheeseburger for ten bucks, then wash it back with a $5 tinnie of VB. Match made in heaven! Honestly some of the best burgs we've had in a while, basic, well executed and delicious.
Burgers are delicious, one of my favourite burger places in Sydney. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they came with fries. Had a coffee afterwards and that was great too. Friendly service. Can't wait to go back for more!

After salivating and having a pic of a fried chicken burger from Bangbang in my photo library for what seems like aeons, I finally popped in today.
And I order a beef burger, lol.
Probably one of the best beef burgers I have had in a long time. You know, an uncomplicated burger with simple fresh ingredients that is tasty and juicy AF? That is what I got; and even better today the All Star with fries was only $10 + $3 for the addition of bacon because yum!
The AS is wagyu blend beef with smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato and Bang Bang sauce.
We have decided our next fortnightly pre-pay day treat will be back here so I can try the chicken burger, and Twinnie, the AS.
My work Twin got the BOTW which was a pulled pork belly with crackling which he enjoyed, but he had total burger envy of my All Star.

The breakfast stack is the winner here. Crunchy and crispy textures from the bacon and the potato rosti, and perfectly poached eggs. Juices were nice.

My husband and I wanted to try out one of the many burger joints that are out there and i must say that this place surpassed our expectations....! The burger buns were soft and fluffy the meat patties were also soft and well flavoured not at all over cooked...
Staff were very helpfull in assisting us with choice of food and alltogether friendly.
The waiting time from ordering the meal to receiving it was short which was great.
For all the burger lovers and burger fans out there i highly recommend trying out this place...

Definitely worth the journey for a good breakfast. The 5 senses coffee was on point. A selection of the cold brew, espresso and a 3/4 latte were all made to perfection.
The french toast croissant and the stack were both great choices and would highly recommend. Will definitely be back to try the burgers soon!
Stumble across bang bang while checking new cafe to try on zomato, went during weekday and they have special combo for brunch which they have the slogan "skip breakfast have burger" for $10 which is cheeseburger and fries.
I ordered something else, the fried chicken burger and also corn fritter burger. For corn fritter it's def the yummiest for vegetarians as there's no meat and the patty which is corn fritters taste and texture just like normal patty.
Another burger which is the fried chicken is yummy. The chicken is perfectly fried and crispy. Just the coleslaw with shiracha is a tad bit spicy for me but it's a good kick!
Bun is great, manage to hold the sauce and patty well. Service is great as it's a small cafe with friendly staff. Food is amazing even the complimentary fries which is lightly seasoned. The shake is amazing too.

This cafe makes the meanest burgers going around. I'm not a huge fan of burgers generally but this place can make you change you mind about your feelings towards burgers. Leave the calorie counts and diet at home and simply allow yourself to be in the moment when eating their burgers.
The all star burger is always a winner. This time around, I went for their fried chicken burger which was completely and utterly sinful, yet so tantalising on the tastebuds. The burgers are massive so cutting it in half seems like the most sensible way to tackle the beast!

There are many great things about Bangbang Cafe in Surry Hills. First of all, it’s a few minutes from my apartment. It’s a pleasure to pop over for coffee, meet folks there for business meetings, and recommend people who stay with us to go over as their first port of call. I’d mention the coffee as of key importance. In fact, a year or two ago, it went through a phase (as I suppose cafes do) where I felt conflicted, because I liked the cafe to hang out in, but I wasn’t crazy about the coffee. But now, they’re back up there with the best in Surry Hills: strong and delicious.

Talk about a cheesvalanche 😂 this thing was on point. The beef patties were soft to eat, the bacon was crispy, the buns fresh and the pork added a nice salty sweetness from the sticky sauce. Would bang again 👌💦💦
Slap me between two buns and call me a patty – it really does seem like Sydney’s burger craze isn’t going to blow over any time soon. From The cult favourite Burgers by Josh, to the down and dirrrty Mister Gee’s Burger Truck, to Warren Turnbull’s Chur Burger (do you even Chur, bro?), Sydney is absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to all the salty, cheesy, meaty, pickly fantasies that you can slap between two fluffy halves of a burger bun.

Those of you that follow our Instagram account know that Phil and I love a good burger. So we were pretty excited when we saw on our feed earlier in the year that Bangbang Cafe had come up with an all new menu with a focus on burgers. We decided to forego the sleep in one Saturday morning to check the place out during a breakfast date before Phil had to head into work.

Pretty disappointed when I got there and realised the menu had changed. With either the fish or vege burger in mind I had a look for an alternative from the new menu, however the sweetcorn fritter burger (only vege option) did not appeal so I went for a salad...
Definitely my bad for ordering a salad at a burger joint, but regardless I wasn't thrilled with what came out. Considering the price point was the same as the burgers, I did expect it to be filling enough to have as a meal and not a side salad. The smoked salmon salad is described to come with spinach, lemon dill dressing, lentils, cucumber & radish salad, but there were no lentils to be seen unfortunately. On top of that, it is by no means enough to satisfy your hunger, but decent enough to have with a burger.
Also, food took 30-40 minutes to come out and this was on a weekday with about six people in the cafe. Needless to say I was getting a little impatient. However, despite the salad being a bit of a let down, the burger was very tasty so does somewhat make up for the negatives. They have burger of the week specials, so that's what we went with being pork & cheese. The fried mozarella saved the day, I thoroughly enjoyed it with the bacon AND Bangbang sauce. It really is a well-made burger, each ingredient adds its special touch and makes it all come together! And yesss, the fries were perfect.
I know what I'm getting if I ever go back. A burger. Definitely a burger. I still kind of do think it's partially my fault for getting a salad from here, so don't really want to hold it against them, and can see they do make good burgers. Worthwhile to check them out if you're in Surry, because I do think they are better for burgers than the other place (will not name lol) a street away!

It would be easy to miss this funky little eatery, located in a quiet tree-lined street amid terrace houses. Believe me though, if you did, you’d be missing out. Even so, it was busy on this Sunday so it is obviously known by the locals.
There is outdoor footpath seating as well as the warmly lit indoors, featuring a really cool mix of furniture pieces which add to the character of the place. It’s quirky and interesting and the food is very good.
If you like a good burger, this place is for you. Apart from the menu, there are blackboard burger specials which change regularly. If you prefer, you can build your own from the “Daff’s Deli” board by choosing everything from your bread type through to the finishing sauce.
Although they specialise in burgers, there are plenty of very enticing breakfast, brunch and lunch options.
Tried their Double Banger on our cheat day! The bun was soft with double melted cheese, double patty and bacon! Patty was a bit dry for my liking but the sauce at least came to the rescue..

We arrived one bright morning coming up the hill of Reservoir Street, slightly sweaty and happy to find a bright welcoming café amongst the terraces of Surry Hills.
Such a trendy cafe hidden at the top of Reservoir St. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming plus the food is deeelish! Their burgers are definitely top notch with the special turf burger being absolutely mouth-watering!! They also have themed nights which sound like so much fun!
Bangbang is a ripper breakfast spot. The coffee is smooth, the food is thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I loved the Stack with its perfectly poached eggs & crispy pancetta.
In summer it's pretty hot inside and there's not heaps of outdoor seating but then again, I like cosy little places. I'll be back!
We sure hope so because there's a new cafe on the block and it's a banging burger cafe! Bang Bang Cafe not only have cheap burgers to wash down the beer, but they also serve an extensive breakfast and lunch menu (which depending on how much of an alcoholic you are, it may also help wash down the beer). Whilst the business has been running for a few years, the cafe is now under new management and they have taken the directive to create a 'chilled' environment, where hipsters young, old or bald can hang!
The BangBang burgers are encased in a fluffy light milk bun, it’s a touch sweet which is just how I like ‘em. The pulled pork filling has been braised in a sticky sweet bbq sauce and is utterly delicious to sink your teeth into. Matt tells me they played around with many different variations of the All Star sauce before settling on the one that’s served now. The All Star that has a decent dollop of sauce resembling Macca’s ‘special sauce’ – a heavenly blend of mayonnaise, pickles and spices which I really enjoy.
Bang Bang, my burger shot me down! Bangbang Café, located in Surry Hills, along its gentle incline near other cool cafes, has become synonymous with epicly delicious burgers. The Cupid was the burger of the week – and in fact, it was the last day for this particular one, which was incredibly lucky for us. This was a beast of a burger: two, in fact, with their normal item, the All Star Cheese Burger at the bottom and an extra slider on top. The All Star Cheese Burger was delicious, and this is what owner Matt prides himself on: it was the ratio of patty, filling and bun that made it an excellent creation.
Our Meateater wrapped her hands around the double cheeseburger by @bangbangcafe for the first time and... after she was resuscitated by a couple of cute paramedics (warning: may not have actually happened)... the verdict is in. If you're over the fangdangly, hard-to-swallow, over-instagrammed burgers that come with ten pattys and are topped with a clown doing hand-stands... this is your burger.
Its simple. It's done well. It's freakin' delicious. Beef, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, sauce. What else do you need?! For the fatties amongst you, this gets a 4.8 pickles, sneaking it's way into our top 3 burgers.

For a nice breakfast before university, we headed to Bangbang café in Surry Hills. Having heard great things from friends who had been, we were very excited to try all this out for ourselves. For breakfast, we ordered the T.B.A. (tomato, basil and avocado) with added salmon, as well as the French Toast with chorizo and two juices. Matt, the owner, also made us one of their famous All Star burgers which was very exciting!
Super Solid brunch menu. I had the pancakes with a mocha, and it was just what I needed after a big night out. The pancakes were fluffy and topped with blueberries, cream, and syrup. The staff were friendly and overall it was an excellent experience.

Very funky looking cafe with a fantastic window seat, friendly staff and some pretty good food. Had the double banger with bacon burger. Double patty, double cheese, bacon and their special sauce. Loved that the bacon was extra crispy. Everyone loves crispy bacon but for some reason, burger bacon is always soft. Pet hate! But this place give you crispy bacon. The sauce is also delicious. Kinda like the Big Mac sauce. The fries are bang on too, salty and crunchy, just the way shoestring fries should be. Also tried a salad which was pretty tasty. Coffee was made with 5 senses and was good.
Bangbang has been open for about eight months now with a new owner and they are kicking butt. It is located in quiet, more terrace-filled Reservoir Street and is removed from the usual hubbub of Surry Hills and Paddington. This is both a blessing and a curse with little foot traffic but a growing patronage that will be more regular heavy. It helps the guys are whizzes at the social media and are marketing the place as a hip and happening little breakfast, lunch and cafe venue that is a combination of healthy fare and wicked burgers. As you can now realise it was the burger part that got me in the door :). Their salads, though, are beautifully inspired and there is an option to tailor your own, all ideal for people in Surry Hills who want to walk down for something better than most other venues.
Bang Bang Café is nestled in the trendy suburb of Surry Hills, a short walk from Central Station. There’s a fabulous large window seat bringing natural light into the funky little café with seating both inside and out. The glass pendant lights drape down from the ceiling and lends the café an extremely hip and happening atmosphere. Adding to that ambiance is the giant headphones painted along an entire wall with the headphone cord floating across the whole length of the café. If you want to feel uber cool, if only for a few hours, then this is where you want to be.
Bangbang was the very first cafe I visited in Surry Hills many years ago. I did my research and found this little cafe served authentic Scottish breakfast, i.e black pudding. It was up on a hill and had impressive wall art. The decor was very funky with massive light bulbs hanging off the ceiling. The food was good and imaginative. I haven't been back for a while and wonder if they still serve black pudding?

Bangbang is special - it's got great decor, and a funky vibe - cool seats etc. I've had good food and good coffee there, and there's a UK-twist to the food which elevates it into the interesting category. Thumbs up for the Fish Finger Sandwich!
Loved it. Breakfast was seriously good - the best bacon and egg roll I've ever had. I don't know what was in the tomato relish, but it tasted amazing. Great coffee too. And no attitude on our visit.
Reservoir Street on Surry Hills was a whisper of activity on a Saturday night, a more reserved version its morning persona. BUT, not just like any other little cafe in Surry Hills, Bang Bang Espresso Bar is home to ' The Farmed Table ' pop-up every Saturday. Personally, I've always found the 'farm to table' concept a bit suspicious, with more of hipster intent than one inspired by sustainable cuisine. However, with this meal, I finally saw the light. Chef Brendan Cato's pursuit for unimpeachable produce with the strong emphasis on use of seasonal and the freshest ingredients resonating strongly within me. I had the pleasure of stumbling into the Bangbang Cafe recently for a late weekend breakfast, which is thankfully served all day. Many a friend had recommended Bangbang and it almost always came up that it was run by Alan Thompson, a former Ministry of Sound DJ, who I knew of back in my house music days.
My friend Viv and I decided to check out Bangbang Espresso - as I'd heard so many good things about their British-style brekkies… quite apt as V is about to make the big jump across the pond! Bangbang is in the quieter side of Surry Hills, away from the hustle and bustle of Crown St. We get there at 10:30am on a gloomy Sunday - and it's already pretty full! Viv and I manage to grab a little table outside (made of converted milk crates, very cute). Sitting outside is lovely once the sun begins to peek out, but logistically presents a bit of challenge, as the footpath outside of Bangbang is slanted on a pretty mean tilt! As I wait for my chums I peruse the menu, which is massive, and about ¾ of it is breakfast. There’s a definite UK spin on things with welsh rarebit, english breakfast, scottish breakfast and a ‘posh fish finger sandwich’ on offer. I’m tempted by the corn fritters (1 kind for breakky, another for lunch) but in the end I settle on a pulled pork sandwich.The other three order a couple of nutso triple cheese burgers (the real name of the burger is is more ridic than that) on wholemeal (WTF?) and a lamb burger, also on wholemeal.

Small but tasty. Had the brioche which comes with onion jam, eggs, avocado. Tried the bubble and squeak as well. Not much in the way of atmosphere but interesting chrome swivvel stools. Bit of a quiet area on Reservoir Street but obviously very popular with the locals. Has some quality small items to takeaway as well. Has a few interesting items on the menu given the European background of the owner.
Delicious breakfast, good coffee and good service! Busy on the weekends-
not for you if you dont like noise and communal tables!
