Had been here before pandemic, randomly stop at this dining restaurant with flora and fauna concept. Customer service is great

We ordered the beetroot risotto with goats cheese and the potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms and salt bush and finished it off with a milo panna cotta with salted cononut mousse 🥥

The food was simple yet rich in flavour, the service was excellent and the ambience was perfect!
Had a lovely dining experience overall.

Booked a table for five including a toddler. The service was attentive, quality and presentation of food was impressive, ingredients were fresh and interesting, the fig tarts was amazing. Have thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. Will come back again. Thank you!

The menu was very unique with the use of Australian native produce. There were so many interesting dishes and I definitely want to go back to try dishes (especially if the fork 50% offer is still available)

These were cooked quite well and we received overall a generous portion. There was a good amount of chilli butter that wasn't overpowering.  
The Chickpea and Pumpkin Tagine 👌
I think this was my favourite dish of the night as it had a nice subtle middle eastern flavour to it. The fennel pollen yoghurt tasted like a tzatziki. I'm not sure if the Tagine really need this yoghurt but it did add freshness to the dish. 
White rabbit braised wallaby shanks 🤷‍♀️
I was interested to try wallaby, a protein I've never had. It was tender but not super melt in your mouth but I assume thats due to the nature of the wallaby. The sauce was interesting but didn't immerse into the meat well.

Solander Dining and Bar is a modern Australian restaurant with creative dishes using unique Aussie produce and Ingredients. 🙂 Beautiful food presentation & a great menu concept with Flora and Fauna. The restaurant decor is moody with table lamps, velvet lounge chairs & marble flooring. Perfect for a date. 😌

Two interesting starters I had, freshly baked Pot Bread, it was baked in a terracotta flower pot using Banksia nectar & Acacia seeds, two native Australian plants, served with black garlic butter. 🙂 Boudin Blanc, a traditional French white pudding sausage, with a mild flavour & delicate texture.

All the mains were well presented and beautifully balanced in flavours & texture. All the meat was cooked perfectly, Pink Snapper with crispy skin, flavoursome medium rare Mountain Pepper-spiced Wallaby Rack and Charred Beef Fillet were both cooked to perfection. 😃

For dessert, Crack Pie was so delicious. It was a gooey & chewy macadamia nut pie with a beautiful buttery crust, served with candied pecans, fresh orange segments, dried orange slices & vanilla malt ice cream. 🤤

Lovely restaurant. Loved the ambience and sofa window seats. The bugs were delicious!! 10/10 definitely a must try. Dessert “crack pie” a sweet nutty caramel pie a 9/10. Would not recommend the pot baked bread as it was quite dry.

We were here on a very quiet Sunday evening and had very comfortable sofa seats by the window. I was pleasantly surprised by the food - loved the juicy charred bugs and the milk pannacotta. The wallaby shank and watermelon drop cake were pretty tasteless though.

Went there for lunch with colleagues.
The staff was very friendly.
The restaurant is part of West Hotel and it’s well renovated.
I ordered teriyaki salmon and I loved it. The plate was warm as well as the veggies.

Solander Dining and Bar is located close to the Sydney Barangaroo precinct. Australian native ingredients shine on the menu of Chef Vandenabeele. A balanced menu to suit all tastes, vegetarians are also well catered for.

Over the years hotel restaurants have been upping their game. No longer just the domain of weary travellers not bothered to venture further than their hotel to eat. Hotels have been investing heavily in luring the locals in to dine as well.

Highlights for me were the OMG bugs, melt-like-butter pork cheeks and velvety Milo panna cotta. Special mention also goes to the kingfish-accompanying oysters poached in champagne.

Solander Dining is set within the West Hotel, a boutique designer upmarket Hotel by Hilton, situated close to Barangaroo. Solander can be aptly described as suave and sophisticated with art deco styling, complete with velvet lounge chairs, oak tables, tan leather menus, herringbone marble floors and unique lighting fixtures. The dining space is designed around a long fully stocked bar and even an indoor feature palm garden. This, combined with a dimly lit room oozes style and class.

A wonderful dining experience in a lovely atmosphere. The menu, particularly the use of native ingredients, is interesting and exciting....and most importantly the food was incredibly delicious!

Great choice in the West Hotel.
This place has a great vibe and chilled atmosphere.

The food is amazing. The chefs have put together a varied menu and deliver on it.
The lobster Shumai was a standout. Three large dumplings with plenty of filling and the flavour has a hint of chilli. Well done.

The scotch egg was excellent and the salmon was a great balance of flavour. It also had a good amount of green served with it. All plated aesthetically well.

Service is on point, as would be expected in such a location.
Prices are on the higher end as it is in a hotel. But rightfully so with the quality of food, service and location.

Was wary at first because it was rated 3.3 stars but this is well worth 5 stars. Better than dining at Sepia. Presentation, taste and service were superb. I don't know why this place is still not so well known.

Friday night dinner at the very charming and sophisticated Solander located in West Hotel and tried the 5 course degustation. Started with a delicious array of baby beets and buratta, stunning first course, followed by a very interesting second course of double boiled chicken tea. Third, fourth and fifth course were he favourites with scallops, perfectly cooked beef fillet and to finish a rich chocolate mousse. Attentive and friendly service and a great wine and whiskey selection to choose from. Good amount of food in the degustation, didn’t leave feeling hungry or overly full. Great location for a quiet dinner with friends or dinner dates.

The minute details with the interior design at Solander pay homage to native botanicals and flora from the local area and the venue is named after Daniel Solander, a first fleet Swedish botanist who was on board The Endeavour. I enjoyed a fabulous dinner and highly recommend the pork chop with spicy Korean BBQ sauce, which was prepared to perfection by the chef. Gaz, my waiter, was pleasant, attentive, and was able to talk about the wine selection and food pairings with knowledge and confidence. Great experience...good value.

Beautiful modern decor restaurant featuring velvet dining lounge and happy hour drinks. Dinner was amazing. Beautifully presented dishes. Look good Taste better. Tips: fauna as in main dish is just protein, no condiments come with it so i would order some side dishes.

Been here over a month ago and still the Gnocchi was one of the best I've had - light and fluffy. Overall the menu is wide and there will be something suitable for anyone. The Charred Bugs with chilli butter was also a stand-out (soak the remainder of the oil with some bread!). Attentive waitress and staff were very friendly, would come back because of such high hospitality service, they even brought out a lovely HB plate when we ordered dessert.

This place is food heaven. I had been following the restaurant’s Instagram for a while, and finally made it there for a mid week dinner. We ordered mainly off the Instagram photos which I had been ogling for some time. An absolute feast for the eyes and stomach, and stunning vegetarian dishes that are delicious enough to convert this meat lover! It didn’t seem likely at first, but five of us went last night, and it was actually very easy to share dishes so we got to sample everything. The only photo missing is the delicious hot bread(because we wolfed it down) which was so divine that “man could (literally) live bread alone”, if it was the hot bread at Solander.

Celebrated my birthday here and the staff were super lovely and attentive! We booked through The Fork for the 50% off offer and got to try several delicious dishes. We particularly enjoyed the charred bugs entree and the side of the day (think it was wok stir-fried couscous), as well as the milo panna cotta for dessert. Highly recommend the Solander Spritz for a refreshing drink! Thanks again for the excellent service and the birthday surprise on my dessert :)

Wow, delicious food. Service is beyond best. The staff was SO attentive and well mannered.The French boy and the Nepalese boy they both did their service in style and so well.Very friendly atmosphere and love the set up. Pls take the time and try out this place. You will not regret a bit. Thanks for everything.
