Reviews Chubby Cheeks Restaurant

Chubby Cheek is a hidden gem in Paddington which serves Southeast Asian cuisine with a creative twist. The restaurant has a fairly simple interior with exposed brick walls, herringbone pavers and dark timber, which gives an intimate and exotic vibe. We had water chestnut dumpling, mushroom rice paper rolls, cauliflower yellow curry and black sticky rice. We like vegan and vegetarian food, and Chubby Cheeks does provide a lot of suitable options.

This place is great addition to paddington with a great atmosphere. It took a long time to get our mains and the couple beside us seemed to have the same problem but this could just be teething problems as it just opened.

Lots of vegan and veg options and it seems they can modify most of the menu to suit.

BYO is always a good addition

good wine menu too

Hidden gem! I didn't know what to expect as this place was not booked out on Friday night. I was blown away! Their food is SUCH GOOD VALUE. One of the best set menus we've ever had! We were so full after. (We added a fried ice cream dessert on top of out set menu and it was worth it hehe). The ambience was the same as a place that would charge at least $100 for a set menu. Actually it may be better - they had sound insulation so the voices from other customers all talking at the same time weren't deafening and I could talk with an inside voice and be heard. Food came out super quick as well. This is a must go if you like Thai / modern Asian food. Probably the best pork belly boa I've ever had as well - the cut of pork was cooked to perfect and such a big slice!

Exquisitely delicious. Some of the best flavours ever encountered In a Thai restaurant. The beetle leaf appetiser was sensational. The aged beef was deemed to be the best of in a lifetime. Many dishes were just incredible. My duck salad was good but not one of the stunner dishes. Overall great value for some amazing delights

We had the buffet for 6 people. Scollop, squid, crackling pork bao, duck salad, crumb fish and chicken red curry. Delicious, fresh, reasonably price ($50) well presented and great variety. Lovely restaurant, provided staff.

Judging a restaurant by the vegan options, is like judging a hip hop band by its cover of a Beatles song: they're professionals, who should be able to bring something authentic and interesting to the task, but your expectations are always dampened. Add to that the tough call of finding staff at the moment, and these guys did a credible job. As is often the case in pan Asian, the pan finds itself heavy on the sugar, and light on the flavour profiles. Some good use of herbs makes it to the very respectable Vietnamese crepe. The rest is all well done, but as sweet as a sleeping toddler. The service is under pressure, making coal not diamonds. But it's all good enough. The wine list is credible, and the ambience busy enough to vibe, elegant enough to stay.

We really enjoyed the food and drinks. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The personnel was very polite and provided a top service! I wish I had more photos, but the food was so good that I forgot to take pictures of all the dishes 😂 I can’t wait to come here again!! Highly recommended!!

Delicious Asian fusion food. Highly recommend the pork bao and lamb shank curry. Intense, gorgeous flavours - maybe a bit too sweet. Pretty decor and professional service.

I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. The food is delicious, the place is lovely and staff very nice and patient. The only thing I would bring up: the air conditioning was too strong, we were freezing! But besides that, highly recommended! (Only took one photo I was too hungry ahah)
