Had dinner here Saturday night 30/11/19,have had some bad restaurant experiences lately but thankfully this one did not disappoint, front of house staff we're very welcoming and friendly, service was great, love the pictures on the walls and the overall feel of the place, the food was the highlight for me, the spicy pork belly on the pappadum was to die for, with the drinks package is the perfect place for a night out, Highly recommended.

Their tag line says it all: it’s Indian with a twist!
Food was good. We ordered The Feast which has 6 or 7 dishes and bottomless drinks. It was good value.
The staff was very attentive, cheeky and always with a smile.

There seems to be a moment happening in Sydney cuisine with some fresh, modern takes on Indian cuisine. Bring it on, I say. Nestled into a strip of restaurants on Stanley Street, Brick Lane has a cosy atmosphere. We ordered a selection between the two of us of ‘snacks’, ‘lighter bites’ and a ‘bigger eats’ and it’s one of those restaurants, and one of those tables, that my iPhone just couldn’t get good photos of the food.

This was our first time. We went for the set menu and we were not disappointed. The food was full of aromatics flavours, the ingredients all fresh and each course was well presented. Each dish was explained and delivered in quality. More importantly we were looked after very well which is a must for me. The only slight critique is I found the price point of the wine a little higher than expected. All round experience 10/10. Can't wait to visit again

-Brendon The Smiling ChefBrick Lane is a trendy early in the food precinct in Darlinghurst. Brightly light and cool artwork on the walls, it's a fun place to enjoy a feast with friends. We met a group of foodie friends for a catch up and had a banquet arranged. We had a cocktail on arrival and there is a great range of cocktails, Bellini's, beers and wines to select from. The cocktails also had a lot of interesting choices.

A modern Indian influenced restaurant, the food is great for sharing. We began with a range of snacks like Poppadoms, a very interesting wonton cone filled with tandoori tuna tartare, Samosas and a roti wrap filled with pork belly. All dishes were great little starters and excellent flavour combinations.

Each dish came out promptly with a good amount of space in between each.

The next stage of meals was the lighter bites including a lovely citrus cured scallop and kingfish ceviche, a spiced cauliflow and coconut paneer and a grilled prawn with spiced basmati rice on a betel leaf.

When we thought we were full, the bigger eats came out - a huge fried chook platter complete with a range of accompiaments like pickled cucumbers, vindaloo hot sauce, yoghurt and roti wraps. The chicken was incredibly moist, well cooked and delicious. We also shared a goat curry - slow cooked in green chilli and masala spice with lemon slaw and yoghurt. These were huge servings and perfect for sharing.

The dessert was a perfect palate cleanser - a watermelon granita on top of a vanilla custard, candied lemon and rose jelly.

The food is quite pricy, but it is good.

A great place to visit with friends.

Brick Lane, inspired by the well-known street in London, is a unique and wonderful addition to the Sydney food scene. The owners were inspired to open an Indian restaurant in Sydney, but were determined to be something out of the ordinary, and they have definitely succeeded. Kiran, one of the owners, told us that Brick Lane is uniquely Sydney - Indian food, but the way Sydney-siders like to eat - fresh, light, innovative and with beverages to match.

[Invite] Stanley Street continues to re-energise with an array of new bars and eateries opening. There’s plenty of cuisines on offer; italian, malaysian, american, japanese and Brick Lane then is the one that’s the Indian one. But what Brick Lane does, is fusion eats – an experimental contemporary indian menu that is really quite interesting and features eats that diners wouldn’t normally associate with the subcontinent. Ceviches? Pork Belly? Yes, its here on their clever menu.

Great fusion Indian food, all designed to share. Although the set menu option is extensive, we made our own selection to get exactly what we wanted. Will definitely be back.

A creative Indian-fusion restaurant that is definitely worth checking out. A tad on the pricey side but a dining experience that is punctuated with dishes you're unlikely to be familiar with and exceptionally friendly service. Convenient location (for city based folk) with a great ambience.

Excellent food, great service, awesome desserts specially the Banana Tapioca.
We had naan mi which was good 😊, lamb cutlets (with pickled egg plants) too much FAT 🤒 on cutlets AND I did not mind eating lol 😂, nice vibe going through the restaurant, the chips (sticks) had with yogurt n ginger dip was not good 😊 may be not my cup a tea. Other then that it was great.
All the best to the owners.....
happy cooking.....!!!! Keep it up.

Note: picture quality not good but posting it anyway.

A different take on Indian. We only went here for lunch, but what we had was decent. They had the JFC burger at a $10 special price so we thought it was good value. Noting the dinner menu, it did seem pricey, but definitely somewhere to come back and try again!

Interesting take on a slightly different way to eat Indian food. Shared 2 large dishes and one starter between two which as perfect amount of food. For main had a chicken dish which was really good, great tasting and very nice, the pork shoulder I was less of a fan of personally but all in all a good place to eat and worth a visit. Pretty expensive I think what it is would be my only criticism.

So. So. Good. Went to Brick Lane, marketed as Unconventional Subcontinental on Facebook, for lunch and was surprised with how modern yet homey the restaurant felt. The staff were uber helpful in describing dishes to us and the masala chicken roti was AMAZING. The only thing Brick Lane could do better is to have all the 'dinner' options available for lunch too.

The best, creamiest chicken curry I've ever had. Food was simply incredible. Staff and atmosphere were lovely. An absolute must to try!!!

The food was no doubt delicious and it was good value. The staff themselves were friendly. They were very generous with the bottomless drinks package that we purchased. However, it did feel very rushed which let the experience down. We had the Feast and the food was just brought out too quickly. When we asked to slow down we were advised that they couldn’t because the kitchen was closing (it was only 8:45pm at this point). There was also very little explanation of the food or how best to eat it as it was put down in front of us. Just a few tweaks to the service and it could be amazing.

Incredible service with some great deals as well. Picturesque food with a great twist on Indian. Doesn't remove the Indian taste and feel of the culture however brings it into a new light. Great servings and lovely unexpecting cocktails. Great for an adventure into something different

Great service from the owner Vikas who was warm and welcoming. The food feast was amazing with the little technical surprises added that was good interesting. Great location and best of all, free flow of alcohol added to the feast. No worries no hassle just a really good vibe all around while we celebrated mates birthday!! Recommend this place for both a long or short meals!!

Different ambience then most of the same lane restaurants. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 The owner himself comes to you to get feedback which very few restaurants owners do. The drinks are good and if you like spicy food then you must tell them and they will make your day.
