One of the best flat whites i’ve tried in sydney! The Bacon and egg roll was also delectable. Efficient and friendly staff. Perfect for a quick breakfast to start the day!
Love the coffee here! I find the coffee beans is rich in flavour and high quality! The chocolate coconut balls is my favourite ‘pick me up’ treat and I can’t wait to try the other Lebanese desserts.

A place that does real home made Lebanese food as eaten in Lebanese households _ just the way grandma makes it. The mujadarra is amazing and so are all their Lebanese savoury pies. That is enough to say how good it is. Karlos and his team are bringing Lebanese street food as genuine as can be as eaten in Beirut, to the Sydney palates. Chapeau bas.

I came in here today for the first time to get a coffee, little did I know I was about to stumble upon a beautiful middle eastern/Turkish cuisine restaurant/cafe in the heart of Ultimo. While I only tried a turmeric latte and some Turkish delight, I must say I'll definitely be coming back to try everything this beautiful restaurant has got to offer. :)
I ordered this bacon and egg english muffin and a hot chocolate as breakie, the bacon n egg go so good together with some sauce added on which makes the muffin juicy and yummm. The hot chocolate is alright and beyond average but the muffin is recommended❤
Cute little cafe that I wouldn't have found if my friend and I didn't stumble across it. It has a really homely feel. I didn't get to look at the menu as we just came in for a takeaway sweet but I get the vibe it is European style cuisine. We had the caramel and pecan slice. It was DE-LICIOUS. The staff were super friendly and chatty. I'd come back to try a meal!
You probably won't be able to shut me up about the quality of salad here at The Black Groodle. Delightful service (they made a special effort to ask me how I felt about the food considering it was my first time there) and a wonderful ambience for lunch. Very filling plate for $14 ($13 takeaway) with a choice of 3 salads + 1 meat or 4 salads for the vegetarian option.

Delicious menu of modern cafe cuisine with middle eastern style thoughtfully mixed in. Great fit out interior, and decoration - right down to the colourful patterned plates. I had a bacon and egg panini ($8) and a soy latte -di Lorenzo beans & coffee art - I'll definitely come back!!!
I've always walked past this place and decided to stray from my usual cooffee/lunch shop (yes im a traitor). And im pleased I did! Great coffee, great service and the food wow! That good I'm going for seconds in a hour!
Great little cafe in Ultimo that serves outstanding Middle Eastern style dishes with a separate salad bar inside.. I visited this place for a weekday work lunch and ordered a Beef Shawarma Plate, sort of like a deconstructed wrap where all the ingredients are spread out on a big plate and you make your own little wraps with Turkish bread.. So delicious and yummy, both the salad and meat, and was fun to eat too.. Id come here again for a longer lunch and order more from their salad bar next time. Yum!!
Great food and nice feeling. The food was great, the people friendly and helpful. Not open during the evening, but definitely a place to try for lunch. It's busy but that's the problem when you offer good food. We didn't wait long for our food and the modern ambiance of the place is perfect.

The Black Groodle is the best lunch stop just outside the city's surrounds. Located in an area that is fast becoming known for great food and great coffee, The Black Groodle has fit in perfectly. The ambiance is rich, busy, eclectic and recycled. Their approach to 'middle eastern street food' is fresh, healthy and full of big flavours. Not to mention the selection of middle eastern treats, and pastries with a bit of flair.

The menu trumpets "Street food. Local style" although there's a strong emphasis on Middle Eastern dishes. That means marinated grilled meats like lamb kafta , chicken tawook , beef shawarma and falafels . They also run with daily specials: we've seen everything from red bean stew with lamb shanks to cabbage rolls to kafta bil sanieh, a Lebanese dish of baked meatballs with potato. Everything is impressively made on-site.
Wow!. Had breakfast at about 9am after the suit rush had died down. The service was great and the food was amazing! We had labneh and tomato on toast, and each flavour was balanced so perfectly and the portion sizing was reasonable - finally! I love cafes that actually serve a reasonable portion so you can actually eat what's on your plate! My partner had hummus with toast, falafel and tomato and the hummus was perfect! I have never tasted hummus so amazing in my life. It is so wonder it is the centre and star of the dish...

Excellent coffee. This 'counter-serivce' cafe serves amazing coffee!! It's one of the better long blacks I've had in the city, and I'm thankful that the space inside is great, too. They have a good selection of food and bakery items (including a few GF options). We went for brekkie but the lunch food looks amazing!
FYI - in case you need the bathroom, just ask for the key and head on to the bathroom in the hallway.
Amazing. Once I tried the coffee here refuse to go anywhere else. And now that I've tried their lunch menu, I am recommending this place to everyone. The service is excellent - the lovely waitress/chef makes you feel as though you are dining at her house. Can't wait to have their mixed veg plate for lunch tomorrow!

Beautiful food (full of flavour healthy food, good portion with good price...great chef), great barista in the house and most importantly always a great service ... Love love love... Best Lebanese restaurant and coffee in the area. Dine in or take away options as well as deserts and Kombucha for cafe Style dining. The Black Groodle has a beautiful menu with many delicious items that rotate through out the week. My favourite is the plate option: choose a protein and salad and rice or bread typically. Have a look at the photos they speak for themselves. Lovely staff give it a family feel. Outdoor seating make it dog friendly.

Wish I could have eaten something here, they told me they had decided to stop serving food, as it wasn't busy.
Staff seemed nice enough.
Due to COVID, hours are reduced.
TIP: Heads up, they stop serving food from the kitchen around 2:30pm, even though they stay open for coffee until 4pm.
Seems odd but in this COVID climate fair enough.
They didn't have anything I could eat, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with very specific dietary requirements.
They do have dairy milk alternatives, like almond milk.
Overall looks like a good little place: 5 stars for now.

Their meat + 3 veg plates is the best. Great Lebanese food served by a friendly team. Very reasonably priced for the quality you get. Lovely lunch spot!

We love Black Groodle. It’s one of our favourites for lunch especially team lunches. Food is freshly prepared & chock full of flavours. Portions are generous particularly if you get the plate ($15 for a meat/Falafel & 3 salads/sides). Great staff. Gets very busy around 1230. Book if coming with a group. Tables turn quickly at peak time as people realised how busy it is & don’t want to hog the table either that or they need to walk before the food coma hits 😉
Ignore my half eaten falafel wrap... i just couldn't wait to dig into it! Delicious middle eastern food and a great range of vegan options. Friendly staff too! Definitely check them out if you're in the area.
Great place to stop for lunch, we ordered the $15 Harissa Chicken Plate which we shared between the two of us. After ordering we were asked to choose which 3 toppings/salads we would like to add to our chicken and hummus.
