Din Tai Fung requires no introduction, it is a household name worldwide renowned for its mouth-watering soup dumplings, aka Xiao Long Bao.  But Din Tai Fung is so much more than just a dumpling restaurant.   . Recently the restaurant launched a Christmas Feast banquet menu at $50 per person, it was indeed a tasteful feast with whopping 14 courses, starting from five types of dumplings and finishing with a mango dessert.  It featured the signature pork dumpling, pan fried pot stickers, as well something a bit more decadent – black truffle and pork dumplings. This is truly the place to be for dumplings lovers.

I hadn’t been to Din Tai Fung in so long and it was as good as I had remembered. The wait wasn’t too long and the service is always quick and efficient. The Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wontons (pictured) are my absolute favourite. Given that it is currently truffle season in Australia we could not go past the Pork & Truffle Dumplings (pictured). So, so good and you could actually taste the truffle! #dintaifung

Who's ready for Mardi Gras this weekend?

To celebrate, Din Tai Fung Australia have launched a limited edition Rainbow Dumpling! Available until 4th March.

For me, seeing the progression that Australia has made with accepting LGBTQI is quite remarkable. I was extremely excited to try these dumplings, not only because of how adorable they look, but also because it warms my heart to see that restaurants are also embracing this new culture.

Din Tai Fung is a global enterprise and it's easy to see why. The quality of the food is unmistakable and I love that there is a great mix of traditional and modern Chinese food. Of the dishes I was lucky enough to try, I absolutely loved the rainbow dumplings with chicken and mushroom filling and the assortment of mini buns - chocolate lava, golden lava (salted egg yolk) and taro. Spicy wonton noodles had a substantial amount of heat so beware! To calm the palate, I would highly recommend the mango pudding with fresh mango. Texture was silky smooth and the evaporated milk provided a lovely creaminess.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

My thanks to Din Tai Fung, Central Park and Kimberley at Agency B and Co for the invite.

My go-to restaurant whenever I’m craving Xiao Long Bao! I’ve visited countless times and the franchise has never let me down. My favourite is the Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodle with Spicy Sauce. The Egg Fried Rice with Crumbled Chicken Fillet is pretty good too. Although restaurant is a little pricier compared to other Chinese restaurants in the Sydney, I still highly recommend visiting!

Their xiao long bao is always my favourite in sydney. The spicy noodle was amazing as well and the wantons inside. It was filled with pork and shrimp. The fried rice is always the bomb and the chicken cutlet was so crispy yet not to over dry. The service was quick as well

Their #Xiao long bao# is OK, but not perfect, in terms of taste and price. Again if you go to Shanghai you'll find a lot of restaurants selling such thing, and are juicy, tasty, cheap and awesome.

The restaurant has really nice decoration. The kitchen is transparent and you can see chefs making food through the window.

#Prawn Port Wonton Soup# $11.5, might be not enough for dinner. The soup is light. The stuffing pork and shrimp are nice. I added spinach, $1.8 sounds price-worthy for balancing the meal.
#Fried Rice with Fried Chicken fillet# #16.8, it's a very strange dish. I've never seen a restaurant in china that serves greasy chicken fillet together with egg fried rice.

This restaurant is inside the Central Park mall, and is always crowded. Their xiao long bao's are very flavourful, and very authentic! Would come back here just for those.

Small portion, just 4 dumplings, but tasty and fresh.
You can watch the staff make them in front of you behind the window, so you know they are fresh.

Love the dumplings here - there is such a wide range of dumplings to try (all super tasty)! My favourite is still the classic xiao long baos, but they always come up with innovative limited edition dumplings once in a while, such as the giant xiao long baos and the dumpling roulette.

Im not one to eat dumplings when dining out but hear this eatery makes them very well. For $10.80, it marginalises itself to other dumpling places on price, and for 6 pretty small pieces, i had high expectations. Luckily, all the flavours were there. Dip in soy sauce, place on spoon, poke a hole, let the juices flow and eat. Had the pork option and its was very nice! Good service and location. Come here once in a while i think.

I love this place every time I visit. The food is fresh and the dumplings are absolute perfection. The customer service is very fast and attentive here and the atmosphere is relaxing. Located inside Central Park - it's a really good spot to shop and eat. I highly recommend the Kung pao chicken and the truffle egg fried rice.

International dumpling chain. The world famous soup dumplings are delicious and a must try on the first, second and third visits. There is also a bunch of other tasty items on the menu such as the spicy dumplings and beef soup. We went a bit crazy trying to replicate a mint lychee drink Din Tai Fung has that is delightful and of course I tied it with vodka or rum several times.

I've been to Din Tai Fung many times at several branches and this one is conveniently located across my university. Love the atmosphere and the service provided by the staff. I recommend the Xiao Long Bao, Crumbled Chicken Fillet with Noodle Soup, Shrimp & Pork Wonton Noodle Soup, Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wonton with Dry Noodle and the list goes on! For dessert, I particular like the Taro Gelato & Golden Taro Bread.

Would recommend this place to everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Din Tai Fung, the Taiwanese chain with the famous soup dumplings. There are many locations these days in Sydney, and it’s a great option both for a quick meal or to sit down and take a bit more time…. …which is what Tim and I did last week in Central Park, on the food court level, where Din Tae Fung takes over a fairly substantial corner, and is well-lit and designed. As with the mother ship restaurant in World Square that I first discovered, I was delighted to see that the young waitresses had fabulously slightly unusual names.

The food here is absolutely delicious. We started off our meal with an absolute bang - Xiao Long Bao (it would be a crime if you leave this place without trying this.) We also had the Pork Bun and the Calamari for starters which were both really good. But the Xiao Long Bao was the star of the night. We then ordered some delicious Kung Pao Chicken with Shrimp Fried rice and ended our night with some divine mango pudding. All in all a fantastic experience with great ambience, brilliant service and tasty food.

This chain is always a reliable favourite. This one is located on the upper level of the Central Park complex.

The service here is really friendly and ever so helpful. I felt them to be less rushed here than the one at World Square. It is probably due to being not so busy and having to turn tables over as fast as the other outlet. View the menu and order your selection of food by making your selections off the paper they give you. The food delivery was super quick as usual though.

The selection of food chosen tonight included Vegetarian Jiao Ze, Pork Bun, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Crumbed Chicken Fillet With Noodles (Soup), Golden Lava Mochi Balls, and Steamed Mini Black Sesame Buns. All the food tasted delicious and full of flavour. Dumplings and noodles are always good as hand made. The Lychee Iced Tea was refreshing and had a good lychee flavour to it.

We ordered the $15 student special however realised this isn't much of a saving, especially if you don't drink soft drink.
The fried rice and crumbed pork cutlets were nice as always. The wonton and noodle soup seemed to have less soup than usual.

Great, delicious food. The Mango and Shrimp spring rolls are an amazing , delicious surprise. Rolled in coconut and lightly fried; I couldn't get enough! Unique and like nothing I've ever eaten before. Service was a little abrupt, but our party of six did arrive just 15 minutes before the kitchen closed.

Oh man I am a rebel (or an idiot) but I am going to review the noodles soup at Din Tai Fung instead of dumplings. Niche market y'all. Besides its winter. So my noodles came about on a day I was searching for pasta in Chippendale (seriously Italians where you at?!) and so I figured noodles will do ( I watch enough Masterchef to know it's almost the same Shuu) Pictured is pork wonton noodles with added spinach and a pot of Chinese tea. The whole meal cost me $18 and honestly this noodles is the best find. The broth is what I feel like can cure Zika virus and can potentially convince Trump to drop out of the presidential race. It's so balanced and homely the noodles are freshly made and a nightmare to eat with plastic chopsticks but one must suffer for good food. The wontons are perfect little parcels with the most delicious, melt in your mouth portion of pork. The spinach was added because I love love love that Asian dish (morning glory/ Chinese broccoli/ spinach?!?) saluted with oyster sauce and garlic but it was delicious as a palate cleanser (at this point I am just saying stuff). Cute little set up upstairs the waitress have a little hamper for your handbag. Lunchtime gets a bit busy but I always get a seat and yes if you do come try their dumplings too (I am not a complete hipster)

I am a regular here. What I love about this place is their good service and consistent quality of food. We are often greeted multiple times on the way in and on the way out with a genuine smile. Honestly, not many places in Sydney does that anymore. They will also give you a basket to keep your bags off the floor and a cover to put over your coat hanging on your chair. It's tiny detail like this that gives a fine start to the dining experience and makes me want to come back again and again. For my recommendation of dishes: the 'xiao long bao' which is their famous pork dumpling is a must have. Their deep fried mango prawn roll is fresh without being oily. I would normally pick a noodle dish and a rice dish so carb is covered . If you still have room for dessert, I recommend their golden taro bread served with taro ice cream, it's truly a great way to end the meal. Price wise, it is erring towards the slightly pricy side for a quick weekday dinner, particular with their hot dishes which are relatively smaller in portion. Other than that, I am a happy customer.

Imagine a place where you can enjoy the infamous Din Tai Fung-s Xiao Long Bao but without the long queue and better service.

Ordered their Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wonton, xiso Long Bao, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Mango Pudding, Taro Gelato &Golden Taro Bread and Green Tea Ice Cream.

Food came out reasonably quick service is actually better as the wait staffs are more attentive. Food quality is perfect as in any other outlets, this oulet has more relaxing ambience therefore would definitely come back.

Although being a Monday, the restaurant wasn't crowded which made for a nice comfortable atmosphere here. The dumplings - particularly the xiaolongbao - are must orders. Unfortunately the gem dumplings were not available today it was truly a delectable experience with polite and attentive staff. Modern pop music contributed to the overall ambience of the place.

Note: now the gem dumplings are available every day.

I would say this is probably my favourite Din Tai Fung outlet. The whole place feels far less claustrophobic than most of their other restaurants and it just has a better ambiance all round. The dishes are the quality you expect, and I honestly think Din Tai Fung does the best Xiao Long Bao out of any dumpling place in Sydney. We also ordered some fried pork and fried chicken with rice. The pork was good, but the chicken was a little bland. The rice also seemed to have more egg in it than needed, which is probably a good thing if you really like egg. We also took the opportunity to order the special Mardi Gras themed dumplings out of curiosity. I'd be lying if I said they were particularly special, but they were a fun gimmick with the less outrageous flavours tasting the best. I'll be back here again for sure.

This is one of my favourite Din Tai Fung. It's large and airy and you can normally walk straight in and have dumplings on your table within a few minutes. They have the full DTF range but as always, xiao long bao are the must do order. I am also a sucker for their Kung Pao chicken with fried rice.

To celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year period, Din Tai Fung have created a cute Monkey Dumpling, so after seeing some pics of them on Instagram, we had to check them out for ourselves! We started off with two savoury dishes. I had the Shrimp and Prawn Wonton Noodle Soup, which was a great portion, with lots of tender noodles and flavourful dumplings that tasted amazing dipped into the soy sauce. It was a bit of a messy dish to eat, but well enjoyed!

Was extremely busy on Friday night and my gf and I still got served really quickly.
Food came out promptly and was generally really nice.
Dumplings aren't amazing but they satisfy - some of their noodle dishes are the better choice.

Overpriced but somewhat decent food. Went a couple of times, once alone and twice with a big family. It seems that you get much more attention from staff when you go in a big group. When you go alone they dont come around to you at all and youd have to try very hard to make yourself known. I give it a 3.5 because I value customer service a lot, possibly as much as the actual food itself.

I referred to them as “soup dumplings” to her, and no matter how many times I carefully explained to her that the soup was inside the dumpling, she thought I was delusional and actually meant the dumplings were merely in the broth. So you can imagine the satisfaction I felt when a basket of these dumplings were placed in front of us and all her preconceptions of all things dumplings was questioned. Since her first bite, she's been hooked and two years on, Din Tai Fung is still one of our favourite places to eat at.

The Din Tai Fung experience is so consistent around the world, the xiao long bao are always a winner! We also love the spicy wontons and noodles - whatever is in that slightly numbing chilli sauce, it's amazing! The Baa Buns available during Lunar New Year were super adorable too. Almost too cute to eat.

Came here for a work mates farewell and am really impressed with the place layout ambience and food. I decided to Order the fried rice and crumbed chicken fillets and steamed pork dumplings which as the dish suggest the chicken fillets were very crunchy. The steamed pork dumplings were quite tasty as well as good as the ones from taste of shanghai but unique in its own way. This place is good value for money, portions and you don't have to wait to long once you place an order .

The signature item at Din Tai Fung is Xiao Long Bao ($10.80) , the semi-legendary pork soup dumplings that have carried this restaurant across continents. Let me confirm that this reputation is not unwarranted. These are seriously good dumplings; but be warned: the unctuous soup is delicious, but perilously hot. Similarly delightful is the Braised Beef Noodle Soup ($16.80) with its dark and well-flavoured broth and falling-apart tender beef. The roasted chilli warmth of Shrimp and Pork Wontons with Tangy Sauce ($10.80) had me scraping around for leftover morsels. In fact, all the classic dishes seem to hit the mark. By contrast, the seven different flavoured Dumpling Gems ($15.80) are fun to try, but include cheese, Bolognese, and golden corn—all of which I could definitely have gone without. The perfect foil to the salt, umami and spice of the dumplings is the sweet and fresh Lychee Mint Freeze ($8.80) , or the mild but firm-set Mango Pudding ($6.80) . However the Choice of Mini Buns ($6) featuring taro, black sesame, and red bean, are the best way to experience a trio of traditional Chinese dessert flavours. My take: stick to the classics and you won’t be disappointed, but be sure to let those legendary pork soup dumplings cool a little bit first. Absolutely love DTF!. One of my favourite restaurants in one of my favourite buildings. Din Tai Fung has been one of my favourite go-to places for lunch, especially before/during university lectures and/or tutorials. The xiao long bao has been a menu item that I always enjoy. Unfortunately, the 'dumpling gems' did turn out a bit disappointing for me. It was quite a weird experience - mainly because of the flavours being very unexpected each time I tried one. Some were very delicious but others turned out quite strange, but I'm sure there are others who would probably really enjoy this dish. I've also tried the shrimp and pork wonton noodle with spicy sauce (dry), which was delicious but also came with an unpleasant tingling feeling of the mouth. Not sure if this is normal, but it seems my friends experienced it too. Quite a straight experience but the food was delicious though!

The staff were extremely friendly and were always willing to offer assistance when needed. The food were always delivered within a reasonable amount of time. I absolutely love the environment and vibe in this restaurant. A very enjoyable experience!
