A great Japanese restaurant in the CBD area. Many variety of Japanese dishes can be found here. I came here with friends and ordered ton katsu donburi. Tasted pretty good and decent in size. Might try their other dishes next time.

My partner introduced this place to me and I’m so glad he did! Love this place, has good quality delicious Japanese food! Definitely would recommend for a nice lunch (usually more for office work people during the week) or dinner.

I would have said this place is a hidden gem, but it must've just been me not in the know, because although hidden inside a building, the stream of customers did not stop. Service is quick and they have all the good stuff - ramen, udon, bento, curry! Regretting not getting the green tea soba salad because it's their specialty and I saw it on another table and it looked AMAZING!! Will have to go back in summer and devour it!

We all ordered some sort of soupy noodles because the weather calls for it, and it was tasty (I got the udon). With a side of kimchi because I never say no to kimchi. What a good solid meal. Was a bit pricier than other udons in the city, but there was more depth to the soup and didn't taste like one from the instant packets. Not the best I've had, but not too bad. Would go back if the wait time isn't too long.

It is located nearby QVB Building.
It is owned by Authentic Japanese.
They have lunch and dinner menu
Lunch special which is Green tea noodle salad is very unique. I used to eat when i
Work in CBD. Gotta try if you bump in lunch time. Front of the house Staffs are so nice and polite to everyone. It is located in the heart of city but atmosphere they have is like road shops in other local suburb. Very cozy for me. Perfect for casual dine-in with friends or couples. Gotta try !

Sashimi : Salmon, Tuna and Kingfish.
Some places can not handle Kingfish
because it has bit strong smell when it is not fresh. However, Sashimi from sakuratei was different. :)

For years, I’ve zipped past this restaurant, baffled by the sign outside, and every time I say to myself I will visit one day. Finally, the time has come to make the decision of visiting either Sakuratei of Kabuki Shoroku. The choice was easier since we were heading there with a couple of friends so were after more of an izakaya option not because we drink, but because variety! Sakuratei definitely offers some very authentic eats tucked away in this nonchalant location. The sign is easy to miss as it’s single sided; one side says Sakuratei, but the other say Kabuki Shoroku.

Hands down the best Miso Ramen in town. I had it with the chicken katsu, also outstanding. And under $12. Winner

Japanese away from the crowds. Picked up on these place by scouring some lists of Japanese eateries in Sydney. It is certainly not prominent but how does it rate? Well it's certainly Japanese staff here and I wanted to try a few of their smaller dishes. This is more the izakaya type place as opposed to the formal restaurant across the hallway. Tsukune, takoyaki, pork ribs, chicken skin, deep fried camembert, negima yakitori and to top it off, just a dish of chicken katsu. Some of the yakitori was offering tare or salt which was a good touch and a sign of authenticity. Unfortunately they didn't deliver one dish to me which they put on the bill but they did take it off after I pointed this out to them and many apologies on their part. One to come back to.

Sakuratei does a lot of good dishes. I am also a fan of its kitsune udon and salmon lunch box. I also often go there for its takeaway sushi. Given the opprotunity, it is recommended to try them all.

An ordinary Japanese restaurant in CBD. Average food, good service, don't try ramen. Update 2022: menu has been changed. Price has been up. Quality is great.

It's been over two years since I last visited and the dinner menu wasn't as extensive as it was back then, perhaps due to a change in management. That said, the food was pretty tasty and of a high standard. Eating the food reminded me of Japan. I really like that it's an authentic restaurant with Japanese staff, which can be hard to find in Sydney. The only negative was that wait staff were occasionally absent which made things awkward as I had to call out for someone to serve me.

A sweet little Japanese casual dining establishment hidden away from the street. Great value lunch menu topped with friendly Japanese staff. The green tea noodles are a refreshing summer dish. ごちそうさまでした

Great Japanese Restaurant. Food was super fresh and all made to order. The best agedashi tofu I have ever had, highly reccommend it. Beef tataki was so tender and the sashimi was so fresh it could have still been swimming! Great for a quick bite or an evening outside in the beer garden. Very extensive range of japanese drinks too.
