Sure, you've got the amazing Thai Pothong nearby, but the cheaper Thai places in Newtown have disappointed me lately. Not here - Ladda's has a basic mostly-takeaway shop that serves up rich and spicy food seemingly exactly like what I've eaten in Thailand (I particularly liked the minced beef with noodles), and with large serves at good prices.
Unassuming hole-in-the-wall type takeaway that looks like it's geared towards the budget-conscious uni student crowd; I really only went because my companions knew the owner and they spoke highly of the food. I ordered the special which was a grilled salmon and mango salad and was pleasantly surprised at how well done and well-presented it was.
Yummy!!!! Thai and Chinese offerings. The green curry was actually hot! Love the authentic vibe. New favourite Thai place. Theres a lot of Thai in Newtown thats not authentic and basically made for white people - this is not one of them :)
Good Thai takeaway and friendly staff. Had the chicken laksa, massaman curry, stir fry calamari and some curry puffs. Aside from the laksa being a bit average, all were tasty and a good level of spice - not too hot but not blandly average either.
Perfect for a quick meal. Delicious, fresh ingredients cooked right in front of you, incredibly lovely staff, great value for money... What more could you ask for? Highly recommend.
Great fresh quality and value that makes this take-away / cafe style eatery a regular haunt. Stir fried rice with chicken is a lunch favourite.
Everybody knows that I love Ladda's. My family and I have been frequenting this little Thai Takeaway since... as long as I can remember! It's on the quieter side of King St, towards the Princes Hwy. They do most of their cooking in the front of the shop,
I'm baffled by the bad reviews. I've been going to this place once a week for years, and I seriously think it's probably the best thai in Sydney. The women that run the place are lovely too - I highly recommend it.
Omg cuz drop da bass or what dis place is electric im eating paid see ew chciken for protein its really mad bilal and mahmoud bring your boys drop da bass cuz!!! wadda machiine
Ladda (or Lot-a) Love. Now this was a place I used to frequent some 10 years ago. Now, in my absence, I have come to reminisce the good 'ole time... ahh, the old times. So, I decided to treat some friends on a trip down memory lane. Apprehensively, of course, because time make the tummy grow fonder. Truth be told, I shouldn't have feared. Brilliant, as I remember. Truly, I love a good curry and I have a Ladda love.
Cheap & cheerful this place on southern king at has been around for years. Great Thai staples like pad Thai noodles & curries as well as some specialties like green papaya salad which I reccomend! Best thing about this place is that it's so cheap.
Best Thai in the southern hemisphere, the panang and curry puffs are out of this world. A grade service, enormous sizes and the kind of consistent quality that makes you keep coming back for more. It’s really climbing the “ladda” of the world’s finest Thai dining experiences :,)
Very nice take away, all fresh and nice service 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊👨🏽🍳

Cozy little takeaway on the end of King St.
Ordered pad Thai, fried rice and spring rolls.
The pad Thai had that nice char to it but was too sweet for my preference. The fried rice was excellent with a great mix of veggies and not too oily. The spring rolls were crispy and tasted house made, quite large and filling.
The staff were very friendly and seems to have a lot of regulars coming in. Price was reasonable as well.
There not a ton of seating so more for takeaway.
Simple. Always good. Lovely people. Try the duck.
The hygiene is well kept and the food is served very quickly. Fresh and delicious.
Very affordable and better than most Thai restaurants in Newtown. Staff are lovely too
