The hazelnut Gianduja chocolates are amazing! Even though they are pricey they do taste better than supermarket hazelnut chocolates. They are all handmade and natural too. So will expire quicker too.
Would recommend and go back to get more.
Have been to their outlet in Canberra a number of times and visited in Sydney today. They lived upto my expectations. The belgian hot chocolate was exceptional as always. Also tried their roasted pumpkin and feta toastie and it complemented the drink.
The best, thickest, richest hot chocolate ☕️ I’ve ever tried!!! Also it the most expensive one ☝️ ~~~ haha
Unfortunately, their down stairs special cafe were closed today but the hot chocolate is still available for takeaway ~~~
Nice try! Definitely will go back again to try others choices!

Chocolate specialist. Fell in love with their Classic Belgium Hot Chocolate! It was thick and creamy. Wanted to try the different kinds of chocolate on display so I took home a little box of chocolate with me. Recommended!
I've always loved the chocolates here so decided to give their hot choccys a go . I've never been a fan of hot chocolates as they're often watery and don't work well with aggressive lactose intolerant tummies but this one.. WOW. it was thick and tasted as if the whole thing was just pure melted chocolate. the price seems really steep at $9 but trust me, definitely worth a go once in your life or as a treat yourself
Omg this place!
I love, love, love their chocolates!
Super sad though that they don't have the drink bar as I'm sure it would have been amazing.
Service was good and so is lighting but this is mainly just a place to go and buy chocolates.
I always spend so much money here.
Would definitely recommend it.

Koko Black is located in the beautiful strand arcade and is what you would call an upmarket chocolate store. There is a wide selection of individual chocolates, bags of treats and customized gift boxes. The selection of both milk and dark chocolate rocky road is delicious. All of their products are beautifully presented and their signature light purple carry bags make this shop great for gifts.
Love their chocolate! I had a cream puff and a dark chocolate reveal. Cream puff was bit boughy and too much rasbbery sauce:( i was disappointed since I always like their other products and i expected too much. Dark choc reveal was perfect ! They kindly gave us sample of hot chocolate which I loved. My bf didn't like it, because it was too thick, however, they have light version of hot chocolate so I would recommend if you prefer lighter texture.
Popped in here in need of a sweet treat. It is in the strand arcade and very welcoming. Walls of bagged chocolate drops, almonds, chocolate pieces and more! There's also a counter with individual chocolates. There's white, milk, dark with various fillings like hazelnut, pistachio, etc. I got a little whisky chocolate and a salted caramel. Very smooth chocolate and nice filling. Packaged in a cute little box.
About 5 years (maybe more) since our first Koko Black hot chocolate, their hot chocolate is still probably the best we've tasted. Must be the cream, their cacao powder and how they cook it for ages.
Love the chocolate at Koko Black so stopped in to pick up a gift box for a colleague. Sampled the hot chocolate on offer and it was delicious. So thick almost like it was just melted chocolate and nothing else.
After being an avid haighs fan for over 5 years - I finally gathered the guts to try something new. Little did I know that would be the last time I would ever think of haighs?? These chocolates are off the chart amazing. Not too sweet, not too over the top flavours, The taste is just perfect. The chocolates are melt in the mouth no matter what you purchase. I can't believe I would walk past this store for years and not think of stepping in once. Regret all the flavours I might have missed out on. As for haighs - that's the end of me and you.

One of my favourite chocolates ever since I discovered it in Melbourne, there is a really good selection of chocolates to indulge in witj some native ingredients being incorporated, such as local honey & lemon myrtle. The chocolate itself is creamy, sweet but not overly sugary & the rocky road is fantastic. Get a box to indulge in or for a special gift.
Great gourmet chocolates, perfect as gifts! Yes they are a little pricey but if you buy them without packaging they are little cheaper. I especially love the champagne truffles and alcohol flavored truffles. I ordered from their online store a couple of times, it is not the fastest as you have to give minimum of 2 days for packing etc. but definitely a great gift options.
I have been here a few times for their cinnamon hot chocolate $7 as its my favourite. I have tried their Chocolate Alchemy Gateau $10.50 which apparently is their signature with 70% chocolate creme, dark choc mousse and chewy chocolate caramel.
While it seems pricey, you are paying for quality. I love their dark chocolate blocks which you can buy upstairs in their shop. (Cafe is downstairs)
The first thing that stood out for me was the service. So friendly. And so refreshing! The chocolates are without a doubt delicious. So smooth, not overly sweet - you can tell they are high quality chocolate. Definitely worth the slightly higher price tag.
Screw diamonds, I say. Chocolate has been a more dependable best friend to many girls around the world, and has the ability to literally make you feel more warm and fuzzy inside. Especially when it comes in the form of a rich, dark chocolate. Koko Black is one of the latest Melbourne “imports” to arrive in Sydney, and when it comes to chocolate and all things decadent, Sydney pretty much has no self-restraint.
Originating from Melbourne, they finally came to Sydney and recently opened up at The Strand Arcade and QVB. A few of my friends who had tried their chocolate recommended their cabinet chocolate range. The Strand Arcade store has a chocolate salon/cafe where you can sit down and enjoy their chocolate goodies on the spot. Just head down the staircase behind the cabinet chocolates and a friendly staff will greet you...
Koko black is finally in Sydney! I’ve been a fan of their salted caramel pralines for the longest time, often stocking up on pieces and hoarding it in my fridge every time I return from Melbourne. It’s been a few exciting weeks, as I waited for it to open here in The Strand Arcade as well as QVB. This shop is in the location of where Bon Bon’s used to be.
Attempted to makee plans to go visit. Note that the times on the website is unfortunately incorrect at this stage. Their opening hours are till 6pm daily except Thursday nights. So after postponing it a couple of times, I finally made it! It was great. The place is nice and peaceful. Strangely there isn’t a line through the door, perhaps it’s because it isn’t the weekend, and it was raining/storming over the last couple of weeks.
I've always known Koko black serves delicious chocolate but I was brown away by the amazing table serve offered at the Koko black strand arcade stall. The staff were not only polite but also genuinely there to help when needed. On top of that the raspberry chocolate dome + chocolate affogato I ordered was rich in flavour, 10/10 in appearance and filled with surprises. I would definitely return!
Visited the outlet at Melbourne and got hooked onto their chocolates! The Strand’s outlet seems to be the only one with a seating lounge serving cakes and pastries. Everything was great, but it would have been perfect if the staff keeps the lounge tidier as there are boxes of chocolates lying around just next to where we are seating though.
Nevertheless, love the chocolates here!
My favourite chocolates, it’s hard to resist when I walk by
You can order by the piece or pick up prepackaged items. There are specialty selections for each season but it’s hard to resist their salted dark chocolate caramels. Staff are always helpful and there are usually samples to try if you just can’t decide
Huge selection of quality chocolate both packed up in bars/bags and choose your own truffles etc.
Staff are really friendly and helpful.
There's a cafe downstairs but haven't tried it.
Location is great, just at the end of The Strand Arcade.
Lose a star for how expensive it is, you'll easily drop $80 without even thinking about it.
I had a really positive experience here. The store is gorgeous, really lovely layout and design. The graphic design on the chocolate packets themselves is beautiful too. The staff member that greeted me was friendly and let me browse, I didn’t feel rushed or pressured! They have a wonderful native range at the moment, with Wattleseed, Lemon Myrtle, Davidson Plum and Whipstick Wattle. Their price range was what you’d expect from such a high-end chocolate store, with the native range bars at $13 each, the more basic bars at $10. They also have individual items in the glass counter display, in addition to a large Easter and gift range.
When compared to Haigh’s at the other end of The Strand, Koko Black easily comes out on top. I gave both a visit before deciding where I was purchasing my gift from. I was actually approached by a staff member in Koko Black, in addition to the store simply having better quality items with more beautiful designs. I’ll definitely be back!
The cafe was very hard to find but when we arrived we were very exited to try the iced chocolate drink! It was worth the find. The cafe is located in the basement of the chocolate shop. The customer service is superb. Their desserts are absolutely delicious 😋 We definitely recommend! I'll still give this place 5 starts because of their quality. Enjoy!
