Fabulous spot & aesthetic, decor. Lovely food. Bit pricey but so I imagine is the rent. Kind, professional staff. Loved the sashimi, beef fillet, tiger prawns (special). Wines by glass good even if a bit pricey. A real keeper Matt!

WOW! An amazing meal, each dish was packed full of flavour and served in an architecturally stunning building.

As people who love good food from Melbourne, our trip to Sydney was centred around amazing places to eat. We were intrigued by the place as the executive chef had worked at Noma and Vue De Monde. The restaurant is housed on the second floor of this bird nest shaped building in barangaroo overlooking darling harbour. Nestled above a pub and below a fantastic bar 'Smoke' this restaurant is definitely a diamond in the rough.

We weren't feeling overly hungry so we decided to go with an a la carte menu. We selected the
- Miche Sourdough with housemade butter
- Steak tartare with mountain pepper
- Cured trout with dill, sour cream, pickled onion and flatbread
- Smoked Bone marrow, onion, capers, parsley, grilled sourdough
- O’Connor scotch eye fillet, roasted onion, green mustard
- Petit fours
- Rocky road

The sourdough was cooked to perfection and the butter a delightful start to our meal. Served on a crumpet, the steak tartare was a tantalising morsel that awoke our tastebuds. The crumpet was fluffy and the perfect accompaniment to this dish and we were so happy to see it return with the cured ocean trout. The cumpet was the perfect vehicle for this well cured ocean trout was and once dressed with the sour cream, dill and pickled onions it had us wanting more.

Before we knew 2 shin bones filled with delicious smoked bone marrow came out to our table. The bone marrow melted in our mouths and the sourdough was the perfect sponge to mop up all the flavour. This was our favourite dish of the night! The scotch eye fillet served medium rare was also cooked to perfection.

The dessert menu had us guessing and we didn't know what to expect. The petit fours were the perfect light finish to the end of the meal with a delightful home made musk stick that reminded us of our childhood.
The rocky road was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Despite it's smooth texture and gorgeous presentation each spoonful of this dessert was full of those renowned rocky road flavours.

Bea is going to be big! We wait to go back and eat there again on our next trip up to Sydney

Was a lovely setting for dinner, food was good. Cocktails were great. A little too expensive for what you got in my opinion, however it was a nice place nonetheless

We came here out of a whim to try something new and we loved ot! Not only they accomodated us without a reservation, but the waitress was really friendly and gave us her recommendations on what to order. We wanted to try the set meny bit with 2 of the 4 at the table with allergies/intolerances of some sort we thought it was going to be a no-no, but to our surprise they accomodated everything and checked and double checked with us if we were happy to have the changes suggested. So most of the dishes came in 3 presentations, set menu unmodified, lactose intolerant modified and egg/peanut allergies modified. All the dishes we received were really tasty, so I have only positive things to say about Bea.

phenom first celebration for hubs birthday weekend at Bea, short for BeaUTIFUL I am certain • share style of Pambula oysters (our absolute fave and we knew from first taste that is where they were from but asked the service staff to confirm), clams, pork neck skewer, tuna, duck egg + mushroom, coral trout with lobster in xo sauce, condiments, lobster bisque, and a @starwardwhisky 10th anniversary whisky for hubs, and a umeshu martini for me (and a sparkling rose) • everything was stunning, and the service was faultless (even before @chefmattmoran turned up for his lunch date)

Great restaurant for a fancy occasion! Went here with 4 of my dear friends and we had a lovely night. Our main waiter was great with recommendations and very attentive. Food was tasty, and all things considered, quite inexpensive for this type of restaurant. Great for a special occasion, with lovely views of Darling Harbour, especially with Vivid on.

Perfect dinner with friends I would say! We booked a table for 5 on a weekday and enjoyed the meal to the fullest. The next thing was the menu has a bunch of veggie options and that made our day. We tasted some non veg dishes from our friends coz it just looked so good. Hard to resist! Trust me the food, the cocktails and the desserts were just so amazzzzingggg. A bit on the expensive side but special occasions deserves places like these.

Bea is on level 1 of Barangaroo House, the view is pretty spectacular. It’s fine dining with modern Australian cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, however we had high expectations for this place and to be honest we were a little disappointed. Don’t get us wrong, the dishes were not bad or anything, it was simple done really well. Our favs were the bone marrow, cauliflower & the barramundi. Oh and did we mention the cocktails here are delicious!

Came here on a Thursday evening at 6:30pm. Even though we rang up to book only a few hours beforehand we were still able to get a table for 5.

Been wanting to come here ever since we caught wind of a menu concept based around the history of Australian cuisine and how it pays homage to the Aboriginals of the country.

We ordered a Whole Duck, which is glazed and cooked in a wood fire oven with Smokey straw. We tried the Marron Gratin, small but very tasty shellfish. My family really enjoyed the crispy chicken skin, which I expected to taste like Japanese chicken skin but this was MUCH crispier, plus it came with the feet of the chicken. We also ordered the Scotch fillet, and two sides of potatoes and carrots. Everything was spot on perfect, nothing to fault.

Despite reviews saying this place was slow with service, we did not experience that at all, and the staff were absolutely wonderful, all of them :)

Apparently this place also do set menus for lunch which I would love to come back to try!

Excellent venue at Barangaroo to dine and enjoy the sunset with your loved one. Food is honest and the crowd pleasing. You may even spot a celeb or two as we did - "The Good Doctor" dropped by. Waiters are too good and friendly. Be prepared to pay the price for good n honest food!

I celebrated my birthday here 2 weeks ago. It was our first time in the new Barangaroo House building. The service was friendly and food arrived promptly. In terms of the menu, it is made up of small tapas dishes and large dishes all designed to share.
We tried these dishes between 5 people and enjoyed everything! The dishes are well presented, outstanding dishes are the Marron and tomahawk steak which comes with 4 interesting condiments, including cricket butter and tarragon emulsion. The sea urchin with orange jam toastie is also amazing but this is from the rooftop bar Smoke.
Definitely will revisit again!

Top customer service, prompt and efficient. The food was great, highly recommend the Kingfish for entree and King George Whiting for main and of course cheese platter and the lemon lime tart was delicious. Cost wise you're looking at this as "treat yourself" dining rather than once a week unless you're willing to pay. Otherwise overall atmosphere was lovely, great scenery and very open. 👍

On the first level of the three storey Barangaroo House, lies Bea Restaurant. The ground level is a bar and top level is the Smoke restaurant. Bea is a new venture of Matt Moran and Bruce Solomon, serving Contemporary Australian cuisine.

We went to Bea as a group and were seated in one of the large booths. Very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant itself is large and stylish, like a bistro and if seated near the outside, has a bright environment overlooking Barangaroo, so be sure to bring those sunglasses. A huge kitchen with plenty of staff and open to the viewing of the diners. There’s also a significantly sized bar and drinks menu, just be warned there are some pretty expensive wines. We had a couple of the amazing cocktails that are certainly worth ordering, particularly the summer spritz.

The menu pays respect to Australia’s indigenous past, which I greatly admire and the menu items themselves incorporate many traditional Australian ingredients.

Some complimentary popcorn to begin, a nice touch, although a bit dry, some bread might be better.

Before I get into the amazing food, I would like to comment on the waiter. His manner was a bit off, from what I am generally accustomed to. Perhaps a big night, perhaps judgemental towards us not spending up big or just an unfriendly demeanour. Had we had a different waiter (like the lovely staff who brought the food out, it may have been a different experience). He was totally fine at his job, but just not particularly friendly. And nowhere to be seen when we were looking of our bill.

The waiter was a bit judgemental when we asked if the list of food we planned to order was enough, and suggested 4 more dishes. We added 1 more and it was sufficient for all of us with dessert.

Between 5, we shared a number of dishes beginning with the Raw kingfish, which was a lovely sashimi style meat and nicely marinated.

The Beetroot / watermelon grain was beautifully prepared and super fresh. We very much enjoyed the Steak tartare, which looked like a work of art on the plate, accompanied with a tapioca crisp to place the nicely marinated raw meat, seasoned with native pepper and blackberries. At $26 it was quite expensive for the size.

The summer zucchini (or strips of zucchini) with a little bit of burrata was refreshing, albeit small.

We also had the tender eye fillet of Rangers Valley beef. It is sliced in two pieces and rolled in a powder of native herbs and served with pickled radish.

We had the Kingfish, a slice of fish, skin on with crispy saltbush and cucumber as well.

To accompany our meals, we got a Butter leaf salad (or a few leaves for $10) and a small bowl of Wood fired potatoes which, to me looked not wood fired at all, rather small cubes of boiled potatoes.

For dessert, the cheese plate is a good option, served with about 5 cheeses, crackers and quince paste. We also had the chocolate, caramel dish which is a small dessert of three chocolate disks with a some of chocolate mousse and caramel inside. It is architecturally reflective of the building itself.

In summation, the space is stylish, food is tasty. I probably wouldn’t go back just because it’s pretty pricy for what you get. It’s probably good for a work lunch if the boss is paying. If you do plan on it, the huge duck or full kingfish with head and tails is better for sharing. We would probably suggest going for the share menu which is probably a more reasonable spend of your money.

Nice atmosphere in this pub/club. Saturday night had the best music on, was too bad we couldn't get up and have a dance. Security was very friendly and I appreciated that. Service was pretty quick too

If you're looking for a nice wine or cocktail after a long day with an epic view, this place has the goods. Friendly staff, good drinks list and the view.... I'll let the photo speak for itself.

Went there for work drinks. It was really nice with great views. But the music was very loud, so it was difficult to have conversations with my colleagues. The food was great tho 👍
