Review Arisun - Sydney

Davyd_E
Have tried a few time to have a meal here. Always a busy restaurant. We had between two of us, the Extra Spicy Boneless Chicken, Grilled Spicy Pork Belly and Chicken Fried Rice. There was so much food we could not eat it all. The food was the best we have had from a Korean restaurant. While it may seen expensive, its well worth it. Our waitress was great and help with everything. She went out of her way to make sure our meat was top shelf. We will return!

Great Korean restaurant for a late nighter on Friday and Saturday as they close at 1:30AM. Although on one Saturday night, the manager told us and everyone in the queue that there was a large group coming and that we had to wait 30 - 40 minutes for a table or order takeaway instead. We did the latter and fortunately enough just as when the food was ready, the manager kindly let our family have a table. We ordered the Salted egg yolk boneless fried chicken, Spicy beef stew and Seafood pancake and highly recommend the chicken. I have not encountered any Korean fried chicken that does this flavour so far. Servings are also well sized. Will still come again despite the small issue next time I'm back up in Sydney.

Pretty reliable restaurant that I've been back a few times over the past few years although the quality and service may have degraded a bit. They severely lacked staff so the service was quite slow. However, you can definitely satisfy your cravings here. The jjajangmyeon had almost no meat in it but the snow cheese chicken was delicious.

Great korean food and fried chicken in Haymarket. This place is very popular for its fried chicken. Food was great and service was okay. Prices are quite expensive compared to other korean fried chicken restaurant in Sydney but overall this place offers great food!

Visited today as we are staying Sydney for 2 weeks.exploring Korean restaurant that is halal, so came up with Arisun. Chicken and beef both are Halal. We ordered extra spicy Korean fried chicken and stir fry chicken noodle Both dished were good in taste. Very bz resturant so we got the table very late. But worth visiting. Do follow me ,Appreciated.

It was my first and last visit here. I've got FOOD POISONING from this place. I ate nr. 54. SPICY WAGYU BRISKET NOODLE SOUP. Waste of money and horrible food! If you like to have a good dinner with your people, DON'T EVEN TRY HERE !!! It is a pretty ordinary restaurant with high prices. Very disappointing!

Best Korean chicken in my opinion. Crispy crust with soft, moist center.. so amazingly delicious. Wait staff are also exceptional. Great vibe. This is a must try

Perfect place for good food. Customer service was the part need to be more polished. When asked the staff for products the staff had no idea if they have and side dish and sauce. Except that good vibe and good food. Recommended.

There’s a large variety of food and each item has a picture on the menu (they all look so delicious). The food was great, staff friendly and cleanliness exceptional. It’s good to see they were taking extra care to keep the place clean from covid-19.

One of the best Korean places I've been to. We had some mouthwatering delicious Tabasco fried chicken with a deep smokey flavour and the chicken had an awesome succulent crunch. My partner's seafood pancake was fresh, crispy and flavourful while my Pork katsu with steamed rice had a rich rustic coating and the Katsu sauce gave the pork a wonderful texture and added to its flavour. With very generous portions and some funky K-Pop tunes playing, it was an awesome experience!

Very average Last night dinner.
This place is not serving authentic Korean food.

Bulgogi : terrible !
It’s a crime the are serving this Mongolian beef... ups sorry, I mean Bulgogi. 😁
How the screw famous and we’ll know Korean National dish?
Beef was slightly chewy, no taste of gochujang, and I don’t think they don’t marinate using pear for sweetness taste of the dish! Dish more like hot plate to me!

LA short Ribs:
Dish was tasty, however meat was really overcooked, it’s so tough!

Seafood Pancake:
It was decent dish that our party of 6, including my Korean friend enjoy this dish!

Snow Fried Chicken, ½ chicken boneless.
For me cheese sprinkle is way too sweet, however my Korean friend likes it.

Spicy Fried chicken, ½ chicken boneless.
This dish a crowd pleaser, all of us enjoying this.

Black bean Noodle:
Hmm... all of us leave ½ bowl untouched, so you’ll be the judge!

Had spicy fried chicken with cheese and spicy chicken hotpot. Both were excellent. The service was great too.

We like to come here as the menu is kids friendly. Fried chickens of all kinds! Adults can enjoy their spicy foods and Soju.

Last weekend we were here we had outdoor seating which was ok. But something I have found out that they arent offering anymore tap water? Im not sure if this is due to Covid.

Menu wise, we love it. Great for family.

This restaurant is really big and have really elaborate menu for korean fried chicken. I love snowy chicken the most and they have really big quantity

I've always wanted to try Arisun for sometime now because of its Korean Fried Chicken. When we finally did, it was a bit disappointing. I mean our meal was not that spectacular but the chicken was yummy. One order was big enough to feed 3-4 person. Unfortunately the fried rice is enough for one hungry person. Serving size was small and it was already a bit pricey. We ordered the cheese chicken. Who would have though fried chicken with cheese powder is a great combination. The chicken was crispy and the meat was juicy. Well seasoned and you won't notice how many you have wolf down until you drink something. Yes, I could it that thing like there will be no tomorrow. A big thumbs up for the chicken. Service was also fast. Parking is very challenging. Better visit the place taking the public transpo.

One very unfriendly female staff and racist. We were hungry and trying to ask them if we could get two tables instead of one table for five ( because there was only small tables available). One of the female staff told us we have to wait about 30 mins and suggested us to go Chinese restaurant.the staff needs more training on customer service.

About 6~10 years ago, Arisun use to be the best Korean Chinese restaurant in Sydney. They started in Belmore where they've made noise among the Korean community. They opened another one in Strathfield which was also great. It's when they came to the city, the flavours were left behind. They use to make the best Jajangmyeon, Spicy garlic fried chicken (Kkanpunggi) and prawn fried rice. Now they have too many dishes on the menu, and their focus has shifted towards making more money instead of making great dishes. What a shame. Let's hope that they go back to making great Korean Chinese food again. I give this place 3 bears

Food is so delicious, but if u use the card to pay, they will extra charge.

I was happy to finally have a great Korean fried chicken experience which occurred in this restaurant as the chicken was crispy and juicy and does not disappoint whatsoever. The staff were also extremely kind and professional. However, in my opinion the best aspect about the restaurant was that they serve halal chicken and beef.

Staff are very unaccomodating for big groups. We were told that a booking was done however when we went to confirm they said we are on a waiting list. It seems that there is no communication between staff and management. We took our business elsewhere.
Great food at a very reasonable price. Their soju doesn't come in bottles like they use to and seem to have a more fizzy flavour which actually tastes better overall. I would definitely recommend this place to a group of friends due to the sheer size of the restaurant and availability of seating

The place was almost empty at 4:30pm on Tuesday. Noodles arrived very quick and were already cold. Had to wait for the chicken 20 minutes even though I asked to have my noodles with chicken. When I complained to the waiter there was no apology offered. Wrong chicken dish arrived in the end but I decided to try it anyway considering lack of action from staff. When paying a bill I asked for the manager. He was the most unprofessional and rude person and should never work in hospitality. He was trying to explain why this was a standard service for the restaurant. I can't imagine how this restaurant sucks when it is actually busy. I will never go back to this place.

This place delivers on the beer and Korean cuisine, I tried the kimchi noodles with pork and was not disappointed. The most amazing pickled cabbage I have ever tasted.
Dominic Svensson
The fried chicken was pretty good, in that the chicken was tender and the batter crispy, although there was so much batter that sometimes it was hard to find the chicken. I don’t know why the prices are so much higher than other Korean places and you can’t even get the boneless chicken in half size. It’s a pretty ordinary restaurant with lots of warning signs (like telling you to get out after 2 hours) and also a poor attempt at a “beer house”, with high beer prices and only VB and Hoegaarden on tap.

I used to go Korean Chinese food for here, but nowadays i go for Korean fried chicken.

The place is big and full of young people so it gets noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. Definitely one of the place to go when i hang around with my friends for drinks and food.
Stephanie Daraphet
We ordered the hotpot, snow cheese fried chicken, cheesy honey soy fried chicken and black bean noodles and it didn’t not disappoint. Food came out relatively quick and service was great!

Tasty, authentic Korean, quick and no frills, honest and comfort food.. Open til late, don’t worry about the queue... quick turnaround. Their Korean Fried Chicken is the must go to dish!

CRISPY BONELESS CHICKEN WITH DIP ($35) – I’m totally agree that ‘no matter what the occasion may be, I can never go wrong by showing a plate of hot fried chicken on my table’ because I’m totally a big fan! And I like a boneless chicken because I could eat chicken without making my hands dirty. And that crazy dip (I don’t know what is the ingredient) but it’s full of flavour and make that crispy boneless chicken taste even more delicious! (8/10)

SOY FRIED CHICKEN ($35) – I’m super lazy to make my hands dirty but I can’t resist when this soy fried chicken come to my table. The smell is so good and the taste is 10 times better than the smell! I love this one even more than the crispy boneless chicken. That sweetness from the sauce makes me want to eat more after I finish one. (9/10)

ARISUN BLACK BEAN NOODLE (JJANGMYEON - $14) – It’s hard to find a good jjangmyeon beside in Korea and I found my true love of jjangmyeon in this place. My mom is a picky food when it comes to Korean food and the first place that she always ask to visit is this place just for their jjangmyeon. Yes, it is that good! And the portion is so big for $14. Wondering how big the jumbo $40 one haha.. (9/10)

JAPCHAE ($26) – A simple dish and standard taste compare to the other dish. Quite enjoy it but not that kind of very delicious japchae! Just a good one! (7/10)

Located in busy area with other restaurants and shops surrounding it, the place itself has good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.

Since it's situated in such an area, the place is always busy and wait times can vary from 10 minutes to an hour depending on what time you visit.

The food is decent and the price is decent for the portion size you get, but you can honestly get better tasting korean food for cheaper in other places.

It gets super busy. We got a variety of dishes because we've been here just for the chicken and wanted to try other things. The spicy seafood dish on sizzling hot plate dish wasn't that good, they really skimped out on the prawn. The soy fried chicken was good like usual, I wish they had this flavour with boneless chicken though. The five spice pork belly with rice cake was very tasty too.

This place also gets very busy on a Friday night, we were lucky to get in before the 7pm rush (there was a huge line)

Note they only have plain Soju which doesn't taste that good so if you really want fried chicken and flavoured Soju go somewhere else.
Sweet And Sour Fork
And thankfully, the chicken was top-notch. The Soy Fried Chicken ($22, half size) was some of the best I’ve ever had. The meat was super hot and juicy, and although the batter was light, it stayed crunchy even under the sticky soy glaze, and had plenty of addictively nubbly bits to boot. There was also impressively little bone, which meant extra chickeny bang for your buck.

Really curious about this famous korean restaurant. Tried their famous rice balls. It was interesting, but it didn’t have much flavour for me, it was just rice with mayo and seaweed. The pork was spicy and flavourful, but it was too sweet. The cheese sprinkle chicken was really flavourful, although it would be better if it was boneless. Overall, it was good, but it wasn’t as good as I expected.

I’ve been patiently waiting to try out some Korean fried chicken as I’ve heard quite a lot about it and told it’s a must try on my foodie journey.

Whilst in the city trying to figure out what will curve my appetite and make me feel extremely happy, I saw the reviews for
@arisunrestaurant and noticed they did Korean fried chicken.

We ordered the “Crispy boneless chicken make it cheesy” wwwoooowww I do see why everyone enjoys Korean fried chicken so much 😍 Such a show stopper and the ooozy cheese 🤤.
Love the way the cheese is bubbling and melting right in front of you. My mouth watered in anticipation.

I’ve found a love for this dish. It’s so beautiful and flavoursome with the strong taste of the sharp cheese and the deliciously tender crispy chicken pieces all melting together as one.

Also had to try the “Stone pot beef bi bin bab” this was not my favourite dish. It lacked in flavour and the meat wasn’t very good quality, I’d skip trying this dish when there.

For more Vlogs check out my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8CQlEE62GLokH8jGtAEajg
For more blogs check out my Instagram -
https://www.instagram.com/cutiefoodie_au/

We had jajangmyeon, fried chicken with cheese powder and yakult soju.
All of them tasted amazing! I especially love the fried chicken (so hungry that I forgot to take the photos) and the yakult soju.
Will come back to try other dishes ☺️

The korean style fried chicken is good! Especially the garlic and spicy flavor! The black bean noodle is good with balanced salty and sweetly taste with it, the seafood pancake is also one of my suggestion

Nice job. I have 5 order online but only receive 2 orders. Talking for half hour and can not find out a good way to solve it. Finally refuse to redelivery. Good idea.

This place has something for everyone! Whether it's a massive meal with mates, dinner or two or a quick lunch. In this case, I got a quick lunch takeaway. I got the "mild pork and kimchi" noodle soup which was $16. Don't be tricked by the name, this dish is not mild. it's spicy! But at a moderate level, probably 6/10 on the scale of spicy dishes. Price is slightly more than what is considered a cheap lunch, but I do think it is worth it because the portion is large and it tastes great.

Arisun is a popular Korean restaurant, pictured is cheese sprinkled Korean fried chicken as well as beef and mushroom hotpot. I would definitely come back again.

Waste of money and time. The food, service and management is all really really bad. We got extra spicy chicken which was not only NOT spicy but was sweet!! When we let the management know they didn't swap or do anything about it. The rest of the food was tasteless as well. We heard many patrons complaining. The meat seemed stale which was scary. I would suggest going to other smaller restaurants around for delicious food. Arisun is a very poorly managed restaurant.

_
Soy fried chicken
Chili Squid and Pork Belly Hotpot
_
As big Korean food lovers, @arisunrestaurant is one of our favorite place to go💗We personally love their fried chicken the most, crunchy freshly fried chicken dusted with sweet soy sauce, drooling just thinking about it 🤤 Also, their hotpot is worth trying too ! It serves in a really generous size, so come and share with friends or family ✨
-
please refer to our INSTAGRAM @thepeppermint.mermaids for more quality photos!

I heard from many people that Arisun was known for its jajangmyeon and fried chicken so I gave it a try. The guy serving us seemed very annoyed, didn’t speak to us at all, he was too busy on his phone to even notice that we were waiting to be seated. The other staff were friendly.

Jajangmyeon was quite standard as any other you would buy at other Korean restaurants. I’ve had instant jajangmyeon from the packet before and it tastes almost the same.

Fried chicken was tasty though! A little pricey for the serving size.
Ahah
Service was very nice. Food came pretty quickly after we ordered surprisingly. The snow cheese chicken tasted kinda like Doritos covered in chicken, quite weird . Spicy chicken was overall favourite.
HungryBabesSugarApe
Straight forward and tasty.

Surprisingly the bento and set lunch was pretty good. Check out the pics.

Most people we spoke to mentioned to attack the fried chicken but the original we ordered was rather ordinary. Perhaps we should have ordered the flavoured types. We did notice that it was more expensive vs our usual local joints but I get it that this in the city with different rent prices, wages etc.
We visited on a Friday night, was lucky to find a seat straight away as it often does get busy on and towards the weekend.
We ordered the kimchi/pork/tofu ramen hot pot and cheese chicken.
Chicken was absolutely amazing! Chicken pieces were so crispy and the seasoning packed a punch of flavour which is honestly a must order!

The hot pot was not as spicy as expected it was actually quite mild or below mild however, was perfect for the cold weather, super generous on portion as well.
Have been here a countless number of times and it never disappoints, whether you’re in a smaller group of 3 or a bigger group like 12, quality and the standard of food is always great.
Can not go past their fried chicken seriously!! The soy is delicious.
Always come here when I am craving a fried chicken feed, and definitely better than other Korean restaurants I’ve tried.
The Sauceress
03/10/18:
Okay I ordered a fish cake and rice cake hot pot on Menulog and had it delivered - I certainly did not expect this. During my previous dine in experience the pot was nicely filled with *actual* food, how come it just turns into this tiny bucket of chilli soup when you pack it up for delivery? Not to mention most of the solids in there consisted of cabbage. $39 for this is a massive rip off. I'm not sure whether I'll give these guys another try or not.

The foods are just so so.
Unlike other korean restaurant, offer more side dish, they only give tiny bit of kimchi.
It is quite pricy for such a low quality of food.
The staffs here are not friendly at all.
One of the waitress accidentally dropped a fork on the floor while cleaning the table after the customer left.
Instead of pick it up from the floor, she kicked the fork till it hit the counter, (distance about 5m) then her other staff pick it up for her.
The manager/boss witnessed everything but no action is taken.
This is my first time in my life saw a people who working in restaurant doing this and it was happened in Sydney somemore.

Love the food and service. I came very early with my friend but it was still amazing. I ordered one of the hotspots and there was almost too much food lmao.

I meant to give review to Cabbramatta one but says on Zomato open for public soon I don't get it I was there last week.Long story short very disappointed. My steamed rice came out after 30 mins the guy didnt take my order. My poor son was waiting for his noodles for 1 hr.Spoken to 3 different staff n said it's coming but never comes n had it in the receipt.Perhaps they appologise or give us disc but NOTHING!!I wish they have -1 star I could given that.
Aimee.
A variety of fried chicken and Korean dishes. Generous portions and serving time was extremely fast. Staff are attentive and take your order accordingly. We got the soy chicken and spicy chicken which were both juicy and full of flavour. Also the giant noodles and a vegetable dish.

Food was great, but it is quite a pricy place to dine in.

FOOD:
• Had the Snow Cheese Chicken and it exceeded our expectations. It was basically powdered cheese sprinkled on boneless chicken, but tastes amazing. The chicken had a nice crunchy batter with soft insides and great seasoning.
However, as you eat more of the chicken, it starts to get sickening because of the cheesy flavour, so I recommend buying another carb-full dish and sharing it with more than 2 people to balance out the flavours. The chicken was also quite a large portion to share between 2, so that’s another reason (we didn’t finish it).
For $6 more dollars, you can have it with melted cheese, but we didn’t order it since the chicken was already $34. It is quite expensive.

• Fried Gyozas ($13) - These tastes a lot better than some of the other places that I’ve tried before. It had a nice crunch to it, which is always exciting to have, and the fillings were also very tasty.

ATMOSPHERE:
It is a relatively large place. We came during lunch hours, and there weren’t many people. There’s an option to sit indoors or outdoors and we chose the outdoors. As you eat, there’s a nice breeze, and it’s also quite refreshing being under the sky.

SERVICE:
Service was nice. They were friendly and was ready to cater to our needs (eg. get a takeaway box)

SIDENOTES:
They have a self serving water station, which is something I don’t see often in restaurants, so that was exciting.

Overall, good place to eat. Just very pricey.

The first time also the last time. Soup without rice, fried chicken without salt, and 6 picies chicken 20$, KFC is better I think. Terrible experience!!
Shawnma1208
Lack of flavors. We had fried chicken, seafood soup and black bean noodle. Serve potion is small, no entry dishes as you should expect in a normal korean restaurant. Pricy and low quality food, I rather take KFC fried chicken.
Al&Val
Gyozas were not great, overly fried and were chewy. However the fried chicken lived up to their fried chicken reputation and the sundubu jiggae was flavourful and spicy and great as warming winter food.
Nomnomist
Went for quick lunch, food came out real quick. Black noodle was pretty nice but soft tofu soup tasted more like instant noodle with very little tofu 🤔

Place was conveniently located but broken amp made music very irritating, would suggest fixing the amp or no music at all 🙂
Eunifoodie
Good place to go to for late night drinks but the food is only mediocre. They skimp on the ingredients a lot in the big hot pots and only provide a side of kimchi for the side dishes
IEats
Pretty overhyped this place. They forgot one of our orders. There's a surcharge if paying with card. Food is ok, standard Korean food. There's seating inside and outside. Service is alright.
Pinicolada
Great atmosphere. Loving the details with the mushroom heaters and the clean blankets. Would have liked the chicken to come with more sauce. The soy sauce is definitely a winner.

3 years ago when I came here it is my favorite place to eat korean food. But now the food was changing and it just so-so. It is open until late night so it is recommended if want to find food late in the night.

Yummmmmmm!!!! Was my first time coming here and i ordered the boneless spicy chicken with rice. The waiting time is probably around 8-15 minutes and the staff are very friendly and polite. The chicken was amaaazingggg and super delicious. The rice was also cooked well. They give you a good serving + portion of rice and chicken and i was quite hungry this night and it did manage to satisfy my hunger and fill me up that i had to take away my left overs. The left overs when microwaved taste almost just as good as they did fresh :) would definitely come again.

A korean restaurant at the end of Chinatown. Each dish has relatively high pricing but there's a lot to eat. So don't order too much.

We had {seafood hot pot} $49. It's pretty large, and is enough for 3~4 people. However the flavour is underwhelmed. The seafood tastes watery. Although there's spicy oil floating on water, it's not very spicy.

{Soy Chicken} $34. It's my favourite. However single plate is far not enough for fried chicken lovers. Chicken smells super nice.

{Bi bim bab} $15. Egg, carrot, cucumber, and some meat in it. Average taste.

This place is a bit noisy. Might be suitable for those who'd like to have a drink.
Loveeatingfood
Chicken was pretty okay! Didn’t reach my expectations but still yum. Got a pretty big portion but then again paid a fair amount of money. The kimchi rice was sooo spicy! And I felt that there wasn’t enough rice ratio to the kimichi. And the stir fry noodle vegetable was HECK OILY. That being said I would come here again maybe if I’m feeling nice.
Lily The Frugal Foodie
Food cooked well but flavors are bland. We ordered the lunch set which came with spicy seafood tofu soup, rice and choice of dish. The soup had tofu, veggies, seafood and the egg was great. I would have preferred if the broth had more seafood flavor. We chose crispy chicken as the dish. It was well cooked and nice and crispy, however the chicken itself did not have any marinade or flavor and that was left completely dependent on the sauces, which is such a shame.
We also ordered the seafood black bean noodle. Flavour was good and portion was very generous. I reckon what we ordered would have fed three people. Just the lunch set itself would have been enough for two people.
Kylie
Kimichi soup with rice is my favourite!!!! Every!
They previously have another one in Strathfield now closed.
City one is still very close to me anyway! Recommend !
Daryl Calderon
Pretty good team. Staff know what they need to do and they dont need to delegate the task. The lady owner really do cares about her customer. I feel sorry for the couple beside us who didn't get their order after waiting for awhile. The lady owner handled the situation herself but the couple couldn't wait any longer. Their supervisor or duty manager needs to focus on their role so they can attend all customer and staff. We had an amazing cheese flavoured fried chicken and dried seaweed rice ball.

I’d been to other Arisun restaurants before perhaps when it was under one owner at Strathfield and belmore locations and found nothing untoward or offensive. Food and service was always fine.

My recent first time visit to the Arisun restaurant going towards Darling Harbour with the open area dining option, located at I believe Dixon Street was just short of appalling. The service was non-attentive. I had to flag down the attention of two different waiters who apparently were too busy, just to get my order taken. It’s also self-service water which is usually more typical of smaller restaurants so that seemed a bit scummy. You had to walk across the room to fetch the water. The restaurant seemed to generally be disorganised with no focus on customer service. When I went to pay - which was after no more than 30 mins of being in the restaurant with both meals hardly touched, as i couldn’t wait to leave -even handing me a receipt was too hard for these people. When I asked for one, he had to get the receipt roll out from the cupboard and assemble it. Do they never anticipate that someone might want their receipt? If that were my business, I’d give people their receipts automatically.
The fried chicken was decent but they forgot the cheese. Then when it’s sizzling away on the portable cooker, they just abruptly switch it off whenever they want without checking with the customer. Two different people did this without asking, so I just switched it back on because I like my cheese properly melted.
The Black bean noodles came out over cooked with the noodles way too soft that they lacked that important textural bounce I am used to from having this dish at other Arisun restaurants in the past. I think they left it on the counter too long, again, because of their incompetent wait staff. They may have been short staffed too and this was a public holiday. The place was hardly filled up but they were still sure to charge public holiday surcharge for doing the absolute bare minimum and even that was hard for them.
I don’t know what’s happened to this franchise but maybe that’s the key word: “franchise.” Sometimes when a business turns into a franchise with different owners, the service and food gets bad, which is what happened to this joint unfortunately.
Will never go back. Really, really bad service and the food is not as good as I remembered it.
The owners obviously don’t run a tight ship cos the workers do whatever they want.
I just asked for takeaway bags, packed up and left after I realised what was going on.

The black noodle indeed their signature dish, good food but the staff are not friendly maybe the restaurant is to big so the staff hardly function effectively
Eat With Pete
Extremely popular chain of Korean restaurants specialising in Korean fried chicken and bean noodles. Great outdoor dining area, amazing food and great customer service. My personal favourites are the soy-flavoured chicken and spicy pork with cheese.

Highly recommend this place for a Friday night out with a big group!
Capcimen
I went here for dinner of 6. first we ordered whole deep fried chicken, but what we got only 1 leg, 1 thigh, 1 breast cut into small pieces, and 5 wings.
maybe they didnt know what was whole chicken means.
we ordered rice for 6 people, came in a big bowl to share which was not even enough for 5 portions individually.
black bean noodle also tasteless.
soup just okay,
pancake was okay
kimchi was the worst comparing to any other Korean restaurant.
we all very thirsty after all, i think they use tons of MSG.
but the worst part was they charged 2$ for a litle glass of hot water.
the owner was there and she confirmed the hot water cost $2 as they need to boil the water in a kettle.

I would never reccomend this restaurant to anyone.
Fried chicken. In cheese. With Tabasco. Fried chicken. In cheese. With Tabasco. Fried chicken. In cheese. With Tabasco. With chicken. With cheese. Enough said.

Always my go to place for korean chicken! The snow cheese boneless chicken was amazing crispy and the cheese was so good! And the portion was so generous. The ramen was good as well there was many toppings inside. The staffs on weekends are way too less comparing the number of visitors.

this one is a really good place to experience Korean food in Sydney city.As it serves all kinds of Korean food, such as, rice, meat, fried chicken and so on. The beer here is really good, especially with chicken.😜

The dinning room is really big and tidy. The service is okay.

However the food itself, omg! I will never going to try again! Korean hot pot: spicy chicken hot pot... the chicken is not tender and does not be seasoned well. Feel like eating chicken breast! And the sauce and soup is not really in the chicken meat....

Seafood pancakes... not really enjoying it.

Probably we didn’t order their signature dishes so what we chosen... ew... feel disappointing.

Food came out really quick despite the store being always busy. We got kimchi noodles soup, Korean potato noodles, snow cheese chicken, and fried pancake. The food was as expected but not exceptional. The chicken was quiet dry. What I found most delicious was surprising, the kimchi noodles soup.

My all time favourite korean restaurant. However, last friday (23/2), the manager was so rude, yes so rude! No smiles on his face. Unwelcome. I was treated soooo bad by this manager (didnt get his name though). Worst customer service ever! Never ever return to this place again. Very very disappointed! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Went here with my partner on Chinese New Year for a quick dinner before the fireworks display. First of all, the prices were very steep for quite basic Korean food. E.g. ~$32 for a basic serve of fried chicken.

We ordered two things:
1) The soft tofu soup set with choice of extra (We asked for the pork) and
2) Korean beef with rice. We waited for our food while groups at the tables around us ordered, received their food, finished eating and left. When we finally got our food, we only got the tofu soup set... With a side of beef, not pork as we ordered.

We waited a while longer to see if the rest of our order was coming. After about another ten minutes and trying to wave down staff, I got up to find a manager to ask what happened to our order. He sent the waiter who took our order over, who claimed we had only ordered the soup set with beef. He said he would get the other dish but we didn't want it by that point as the food had gone cold. He huffed and took it away.

We'd finally had enough of the rudeness and got up and told the manager we were leaving. He offered a less than heartfelt apology. I don't often leave negative feedback and when I do it's usually tempered with the positives of the experience. There were no positives here.

Appalling and insulting service. The worst restaurant experience I have had, bar none. Avoid at all costs. If you need Korean food to save yourself from death, just let yourself die. You'll be better off.

After hearing so much about the fried chicken, I had to come along and try it for myself. Walking in to arisun, it feels like a cozy restaurant with plenty of dining space and minimal decor. I like the dim lighting and the overall vibe they've created for the space. Looking at the menu, the one thing I found confusing were the green leafs positioned on meat dishes. When we asked about the vegetarian items however, we were told there were only a couple - so if you are vegetarian I don't recommend coming here. I loved the fried chicken from here! We went for the soy fried chicken, which had hints of garlic which was really tasty. The spicy chicken was just the right amount of spice in my opinion, and really enjoyed it. The beef hot pot took some time to cook, but I found the broth itself a little bland, and the meat just clumped all together. The jap chae sweet potato noodles were really delicious (the vegetarian option), and the fried rice was tasty too. The black bean noodles, which contains some pork, was one i found very rich in texture but bland in flavour - you either loved or hated this one. The seafood pancake was one of my favourites of the night.
Personally, had I only been rating the chicken I would have rated it a 4.5, but the other food was a bit of a let down. Service here was really friendly and helpful, and the food came out fairly quickly so overall I thPought that was great. Next time I am here I plan on only getting the chicken :P

Great cheesy chicken dish.
The cheese s stringy and good.
Really good after a drink.
Noodle weren’t that great so stick to the dishes and plain rice.

Arisun is a great place to grab lunch with a group of friends. Service provided was excellent. The price is of great value for the serving proportions (except the fried chicken). The beef bibimbap I had was just above average. No split bills here.

Spicy Seafood & Ramen Hot pot at @arisunrestaurant - Dining at Chuansticks may have burned a hole through my intestines, but this nom-hunter was not hindered by that hot pot experience. Diving into this soupy delight was a lot easier and way more satisfying. Arisun on Dixon St is a city favourite with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Great portion sizes that come with a side of the sexiest kimchi I've had in Aus so far. If the little Asian marketplace - like environment isn't enough to knock your socks of already, Arisun certainly will.

The seafood noodle is so so. There are 4 small prawns which are tasteless. Not much seafood. There isn't anything special about the noodle as well.
And I found many peole here rating 5 point. It doesn't seem to me that they are real reviews from customers.

The deep-fried chicken is okay. The skin is crispy. The sauce is okay . I think it is better to marinade the chicken before deep-frying because now it is too plain inside.

This is my favourite Korean fried chicken restaurant. My friend introduced me to this place in 2014 and I have been here numerous times with friends and family. The best thing about the fried chicken here is its so succulent and juicy. In my opinion the best fried chicken in Sydney. I also love love the Lemon Soju here in the jug. sadly upon my recent return here they told me they do not sell them anymore.

This place has the best jjangmyeon and korean fried chicken in town! Always go back to this place for those two. Jjangmyeon is silky smooth with pork richness, and their chicken has that perfect crunch. All time favourite.

It helps if you speak Korean. It has a street eatery vibe to it. The food was quick, oily and tasty, and served with cold beer or soju. I was impressed strangely by the ice blocks in the urinals, which cools your bodily fluid and takes away the smell. It is good for office workers catching up for a quick Friday night meal to start the weekend.

Went here on a Friday night and the atmosphere was great. We had the Pork Belly dish which was incredible with beer as the perfect companion. We ending up going back the next night and ordered the same dish.

Probably the best Korean Fried Chicken in the Chinatown area. While it is amazing I think that it is a bit pricey especially when you buy a few drinks to go with your meal.

Ordered takeaway here as ive come here with friends before and their black bean noodle and honey soy fried chicken was good. So i ordered a small black bean noodle and jumbo one (thinking it would be enough for me and my partner) and the honey soy fried chicken. Unsure about whether the jumbo and small would be too much, i sat back down and instantly got back up to cancel the small because i figured it WOULD be too much. Me and my partner walked back up to the counter to and asked him to cancel the small and he (without hestitation) shook his head and told us "once it's through the system, we can't cancel it" .. I'm thinking to myself.. Its only been 5 seconds since we ordered, surely he could go back in the kitchen and cancel it! But i didnt bother arguing as the look on his face shows they must do this often. So if you plan on ordering anything from here, make sure it's what you want as they won't cancel any items once they put it in the "system". I won't be returing here.
Food is good, service is a big turn off.

The spicy seafood soup with rice is quite nice, it is difficult to find good jjampong in Australia, but this soup gets a pass from me. Fried chicken tastes good but the bones are annoying.

Staffs weren't attentive when there's only about 3 tables with customers. My friend had to call the staffs for like 2 mins then the staff only attend us. I was about to order food but before that I asked 1 question. The staff answered my question reluctantly and left immediately. Omg I had to wait for like 5 mins for 1 staff to be free to take our order when there's 4 staffs available in the restaurant.

The whole customer service just makes me feel like I shouldn't come back again. Nonetheless, I will come back solely for the soup.

First time coming here and I really enjoyed my lunch!! The staff were really approachable and helpful. We ordered a lot so it didn't quite fit on the table, but they helped us arrange the table and everything it was just so nice of them to make the extra effort 🍗🍗🍶
In terms of prices this is definitely affordable, we ended up spending $22.50 each (4 ppl) and we were so full, had to takeaway the rest!!

The jumbo black bean noodles are definitely jumbo, it was HUGE. Wouldn't recommend ordering unless you've got at least 2 people (unless that's all you're having).

Happily surprised by this place, having read the mixed reviews on Zomato. Food was delicious and portions were great. Will come again for that fried chicken! Customer service was brilliant for us(fortunately)! Also, very impressed by the availability and pricing of the Combo meals.

I’m not sure about the consistency of this place (from reading mixed reviews), but My friends and I certainly had a great time and that’s why we rate it a 5/5.

Plain fried chicken is very dry, I recommend getting soy chicken as it adds flavour. I wouldn't rate it as the best chicken place but it's decent for a variety. The rice cakes were quite chilly but I definitely enjoyed the black bean noodles.

Our go-to place when we are craving for Korean fried chicken! Their Korean chicken is sooooo good! Crispy on outside and juicy inside! Very tasty! This is the place wherein even if I am full, I just keep on eating because it was that good. Serving was generous and service was quick! Although, tried their Ramen but..I don't know, not a fan of their ramen, I feel like I am eating the instant noodle soup. Anyway, Id come back for more chicken that's for sure! :)

Fried chicken is my favourite. Be careful if you stay more than 5 mins waiting for someone that hasn’t arrive and haven’t order any food. The male fatty boss will get angry and will ask you to leave.

I am writing the review, cause i just realised i never review this place. always been my favourite for korean fried chicken, and has always been consistent for a long time. We had the original boneless fried chicken (with bone also available) with spicy seafood tofu soup yummm and also sweet potato noodle (bit oily but yummmmm).. if you after korean fried chicken, this place will be my recommendation ✌️

Servings were just right, not to little but not too much for sharing. Chicken was flavoursome. We were seated in the back where the lighting was too dim so ambience wasn't great. Service was also hard to catch but they were helpful when around.
