Loved the breakfast buffet - plenty of options to choose from, all fresh and well prepared. Easy to find a table, and staff are both friendly and attentive. Well priced as well, especially for the children. Would highly recommend.

The Holiday Inn Potts Point in Kings Cross is only a stones throw from the Coca Cola sign. It is an area that is replacing night clubs with a thriving restaurant scene. The Holiday Inn has comfortable rooms with all of the required amenities and the location allowing guests to book rooms overlooking Sydney's famous harbour landscape and cityscape, as well as the botanic gardens. It is a great place to explore Sydney from. The hotel restaurant Siricco caters to visitors and locals alike. The recently upgraded Sirocco resraurant has a large open kitchen and chic dining space, providing meals through out the day. With the $25 buffet breakfast being a great opportunity to try the honey produced on site by an urban beehive situated on the roof of the hotel. There are also smaller options and ala carte available. The Sirocco menu has something for everyone with a range of entrees, salads, pizza, pasta and items from the grill. There is also an option to build your own burger. Sirocco also offers reasonably priced meals for hotel guests and locals with $12 daily meal specials $15 with a drink. They have a great drink menu with a great range of alcoholic beverages availible including some nice wines. They also have variety of non alcoholic options including juices, coffee and teas. The sharing menu is perfect for a group meal or if you are visiting for a corporate event. With some morish starters including the crispy fried salt & pepper calamari, marinated fried chicken and for a healthy touch: the roasted and pickled baby beetroot salad. For mains, a favourite was the BBQ share platter. With a stack of mouth watering meat options including the BBQ blasted pork ribs, scotch fillet steak and served with onion rings. There is also the tasty grilled Atlantic salmon share plate. Now for the sweetest thing- dessert. The creamy Baileys Creme Brulee and the di vinely silky Honey Panacotta made with the honey sourced from their own urban beehive situated on the roof of the hotel. Thanks to The Holiday Inn Potts Point and Sirocco for the hospitality.

The harbor side views from the room, the breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner menus make it impossible to want to leave the hotel! Kids under 12 dine for free and there’s a great feature bar in this open space that gets a lot of natural light. The new menu is hearty, comforting and an uncomplicated bistro style. A lot of places in Sydney do not allow smoking and it’s kind of refreshing to see designated areas in the outside dining area for this and not the usual shame corner you have to search for in a back alley or side street. There’s a perfect balance in the CRISPY FRIED SALT & PEPPER SQUID - many places in my opinion go a bit too far with the salty element, but they’ve toned it down here which is really to my preference! The MARINATED FRIED CHICKEN features cornbread, baby rocket and jalapeño aioli and there’s a mix of ideas in this remnant of the deep south of the U.S.A with hints of Latin America, set to guarantee this as a major favorite. Aesthetically, the ROASTED & PICKLED BABY BEETROOT SALAD wins hands down and delivers some seriously tantalizing flavor. Jeweled burgundy beet rough cuts & pearl white blobs of bocconcini on a bed of baby spinach greenery, sprouts of lentil, specks of quinoa is an orgy of texture play with an intermittent crunch from the caramelized walnuts. It’s all bound together with a cooked wine dressing (Vincotto). Exquisite. Share platters of CHAR GRILLED SCOTCH FILLET & PORK RIBS and GRILLED ATLANTIC SALMON were the perfect mains from land and sea. Chunky cuts of Salmon, large ribs and well cooked steak. It was a smorgasbord of sweet and sour. The homemade BAILEY’S CREME BRULEE was a nice change from the standard vanilla custard cliche, simple and satisfying. However, it’s the ROOFTOP HONEY PANACOTTA that is a must should you be forced to choose between the two. The taste of honey is unique to the pollen collected by Sydney working bees, and on the rooftop are a number of hives that the Holiday Inn & Sirocco Kitchen extract this SydneyCity honey from! From Rushcutters Bay Park to Hyde Park or even the Royal Botanic Gardens, it truly is a unique flavor you can only find here if you know your honeys… Silver Star service, daily specials, there’s so many reasons to come back and not many reasons to make you want to leave the luxurious hotel!!!
